Raw format to output command to NI 9264

I need to determine if there is a way to command output to the ni6009 D/A channels in RAW binary format rather than decimal.
I have done this for input from the module, see jpg.  The Labview DAQmx read has a RAW option which works for input.  It also seems to have the same for the DAQmx write seems to have the same, but I've not gotten it to function as of yet.
Any help would be appreciated, ultimately this will be used to control output from NI-9264 16bit modules.
1) Understanding how to best get the most fine control of NI9264 modules.
2) Understanding how to command this fine control using labview 2012 and DAQmx.
Thanks

It is noted in the DAQmx documentation, that when sending (receiving?) "RAW" fmt one must get it all as a long number and then parse it manually to get the channels.
That should make things more interesting.
I'd been running single channel.
Is there perhaps a way to send decimal "voltage" requests is such a manner that one can step between the resolution notches and so accomplish the same thing as RAW?
e.g. for a +/- 10V range and 14 bits accuracy, one might give commands using increments of 20 / (2^14) volts?

I am using a code based typesetting program (not WYSISYG) that outputs PDFs. I am producing 100 plus pages that have multiple graphics on each page. I need to know how to format a PDF command that I can incllude in my programming that will tag my graphics with "Alternative Text".
I know that with a Microsoft product graphics can be tagged before a PDF is made. I need to know how to do this with my programming.

The Acrobat SDK might be a starting point.
From there, perhaps a plug-in (built with C+).
Perhaps with a licensed release of a PDF Library (this could be $$).
The viable and cost effective alternative is use the tried and true.
Authoring in an appropriate authoring application with appropriate tag management.
Example:  Adobe InDesign; Adobe FrameMaker or MS Word with PDFMaker (comes with install of Acrobat).
This way you place "Alternative Text" when mastering content in the authoring file.
Going the route and with some look-see (research) you may find programmatic approaches to placing the alt txt in the authoring file.
Note: as discussed in the Matterhorn Protocols there is no programmatic method that provides a fully accessible PDF (specifically, that is an ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant PDF).
Regardless, here you have a sub-forum for discussions on Acrobat usage.
Consequently discussions on/of 3rd party software is rather out of scope eh.
    Be well...

  • Lightroom 5 cannot export files in original Raw format (LR 5.4, Mac, OS 10.9.4).

A client has the following problem: When trying to export files in the original Raw format (.CR2), the operation failed and a dialog informs us that "Some export operations were not performed". We can export JPEGs just fine.
After lots of testing, this is what we discovered:  The problem does not appear to be catalog-based; we run into the same problem using a test catalog.  The export operation works fine, however, with the same test catalog and images on two other machines, and it even works fine on the same machine with a new user admin account that we created.
So it appears to be something associated with the user account, , or with how LR is interacting with the user account, but I cannot figure out what it might be. We can copy the Raw files when using the Finder to do so. But not via Lightroom.  Any thoughts, ideas of suggestion would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks, Sean

As part of your testing make sure you've tried exporting JPGs from the same folder as the CR2s you're exporting as original, and export JPGs from CR2s to the same folder as you're exporting your originals.  This would test LR's read and write permissions from and to the folders being used.
From this document you can see that all the LR files other than the program, are under the /Users folder with different values possible for each user, so the difference could be that the users that work are using the original LR defaults, if you have just started using LR with them after you started having this problem, or at least that the user with the problem has some oddball settings that are interfering with Export as Original.
Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
You can test for the Preferences being off by either copying the preferences from a user that has the problem to a user that doesn't have the problem--probably through an external or common folder, or be deleting the preferences file from the user that has the problem and see if it resolves.  Moving the preferences file or renaming it may be better than deleting it if no change is seen, then you can restore the preferences back by moving or renaming the file back to the original location and name.

  • Why is this so long to recognize a new RAW format?

    Hi,
I'm new to Mac and to Aperture. I use it with Dimage A1. It's great!
But I am disappointed because I also use Pentax K10D which is not recognized by Aperture.
I notice that it needed much time to import *ist RAW format. Is this so difficult to integrate new RAW?
Does Apple consider others than Canon/Nikon as minor?
    Thanks
Macbook Pro 2GHz Intel core duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Pentax K10D - Minolta Dimage A1

I remember waiting 4 months to get Aperture because the (hugely successful) Nikon D200 took nearly 6 months before being recognized by Aperture.
At the time I though it was a "ramping up" problem and would stay isolated.
Time has proven my optimism was mistaken, on that particular point.
don't get me wrong: Aperture has changed my life as a digital Photographer... a story I often tell and demonstrate. However, releasing camera coompatibility updates few and far between is a massive strategic mistake... of a magnitude Apple never makes with hardware, iPod, retail etc....
So I guess there is a clearly visible dichotomy at work here:
    - on the one hand Apple wants to be a player in the creative pro apps market.
    - on the other hand the haphazardness of their SW update release schedule speaks volumes (and not just AP: look at the Logic Pro udpate calendar: nothing for how many years now???)...
Digital photography is at a major turning point now... the years 2006-2009 will see more new "serious" cameras released than the ten years before.. and probably the ten years after. Not being reactive during that time is surprising.
    $
I don't know what is holding up the AP team on the Pentax, Leica (and now fuji) compatibility, but it's hurting them a lot now... and blaming it on the Leopard schedule, for good reasons or bad, is a tragedy in terms of pro photographers perception...
I hope Aperture will not turn out to be for the enthusiast once the pros have left the building... I'd hate to witness that happening.

  • I need help! when I am importing my NEF files from my D3300 camera into lightroom 5 and try to use the "copy as DNG" button I always get an error message saying that "saying the file is not recognized by the raw format support"

I need help! when I am importing my NEF Raw files from my D3300 camera into lightroom 5 and try to use the "copy as DNG" button I always get an error message saying that "saying the file is not recognized by the raw format support". The whole purpose of that button is so that the file can be recognized... How can I make the "copy as DNG" button work as it is supposed too?? Thank you

Thank you for responding. So I essentially will never be able to use that button in lightroom 5? do I need to get LR 6? Will there ever be an update for LR 5 that will enable me to use it?
Does DNG Converter work within LR or do I have to upload pictures to my computer and then make a second copy in DNG format. and then go into LR and use them?
    Thank you @dj_paige

  • HT201071 RAW format Problem with NIKON D600 after updating to maverick.

We still have problems after this update.
Pictures in RAW format imported to Aperture are brilliant as they are with the NIKON D600. Imported Pictures with the NIKON D800 are aweful. They are kind of grey without any saturation. To convert every single Picture to JPEG brings back their brilliance and colors. We have consulted the apple and the aperture support, but they dind't have any solution to fix our issue.
    Any ideas?

Have you also asked in the Adobe forums?  To have people read your post, best not to include long crash reports until asked to do so.

how to set raw format  for canon powershot  a1100 is ? ,,according to the specs online it can.

It requires the Canon Hacker's Developement Kit (CHDK). It runs off of your SD card and does not harm your camera. Download a program called Stick-
    http://zenoshrdlu.com/stick/stick.html
Follow the directions and you will be able to shoot in RAW along with some other deatures not available on your camera previously.

  • A problem occurs when saving in the Raw format.

I just started photographing using the Raw format.  When I edit a picture and then save it in Photoshop CS5, the file appears blacked out but when I click on the file, the picture comes up perfectly in CS5.  Does anyone know why this happens and how do I correct it?  This effect does not happen when I save a picture in the jpeg format.
    gobruins44

I think it depends on how you read the OP's post. It could also mean that he started using RAW from the camera, when he saves the file using the default format (psd) that there is no thumbnail in explorer. But when saved as a jpg there is.
I deduced that from the statement:
"the file appears blacked out but when I click on the file, the picture comes up perfectly in CS5."

  • How can I copy pics back to the RAW format after loading in iPhoto?

I downloaded pictures in the RAW format with no problem. Afterwards, I deleted them from my memory stick and am now trying to copy them to a jump drive in their original RAW format, but iPhoto converts them to JPEG. How can I get them back to the RAW format when copying to an external source?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Select the pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and set the Kind to Original.
Iphoto does not convert the files to JPEG. Your RAW is protected. What happens is that iPhoto makes a JPEG preview of the file. IF you drag from the iPhoto Window or export with the Kind: Current you get that Preview. Exporting as Original will get the RAW.

  • Why are my RAW format files no longer supported?

Using a Mac OS X 10.5.8 with versions of Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Bridge CS5 and Camera Raw Plug-in.
Shot .CR2 raw format photos on my Canon EOS 450D (Same as Rebel XSi)
Have always been able to open them successfully in Camera Raw and Photoshop. Now says that the files and/or my camera model/make is not supported by the Camera Raw Plug-in nor by my Photoshop.
Tried converting to DNG first with Adobe DNG Converter 7.1 and even that says that the source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files.
Previous raw files taken with the same camera on the same computer with the same (or even earlier) versions of all these programs have always worked. I can still open those successfully too. However just these new ones I cannot. Nothing has changed about my camera in that time...
What can I do and why is it that these files are no longer supported?

ACR 6.7 and ACR 7.1 RC can open XSi CR2 files at least on Windows 7.  I just checked.
However, on Windows, at least, the DNGC 7.1 RC has a quirk in that when you want to convert a folder of CR2s to DNGs, you have to click the Select button when the folder is highlighted in the file selection dialog and the folder listed in the location area of the file selection dialog.   You cannot click INTO the folder and then click Select, which sounds like what you are doing.  If you do click into the folder and click Select it’ll say there are no compatible files that exist.   I think previous versions of the DNGC would recover properly if you clicked into the folder before clicking Select.
Since your files cannot be opened in ACR, either, then perhaps they are corrupted.  You might post a download link to one of them in a message here so others can have a look.  If you don’t have a large file hosting service, then set up a free account on www.dropbox.com or www.yousendit.com or similar, upload your file, there, then post the public download link, here, in a reply.

  • Can't open raw format files in photoshop elements 3.0

I'm sure this question has been posed here 1,000 times already, and I've just spent over an hour surfing the web, using adobe on-line support, etc. -- too much to sift through, and none of it giving me a simple answer.
    So here's the question:
    - Using Windows XP
    - I have a Nikon D40
    - Photoshop Elements 3.0
    - 2.3 Camera Raw Plug In
From what I am able to gather, I SHOULD be able to open raw format files using PE 3.0, but I get the various error messages:
"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".
"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file".
Am I missing some sort of simple step before I start downloading plug-ins I don't need and messing up all the settings on my computer? Any help would be appreciated, and once again, apologies if I'm repeating a question that's been asked a million times before.

Support for the Nikon D40 was added in Camera Raw version 3.7. So you would need Photoshop Elements 4.0 or later to be able to use that.
To use your version you may need to download the free DNG converter from http://www.adobe.com/products/dng/ and convert your D40 files from NEF to DNG.

  • Reading Camera Raw Format

I'm a user of Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6 runiing the current version of each.  I signed up for Creative Cloud and have downloaded and installed Photoshop CC.  I have not downloaded and installed Lightroom from CC as I understand it is the exact same product as the standalone version.
My question is - everytime I take a photo (DNG) from Lightroom and click to edit it in Photoshop CC - Photoshop CC opens a dialog box that says 'Reading Camera Raw Format'  That didn't happen when I opened images in CS6.  What causes this and how do I fix it?
I have checked with a friend who also converted to Photoshop CC and he does not get that dialog (he is running Windows and I'm on a Mac)?

Since you say you are up-to-date with LR an PS, this suggests you are using LR 5.2 and PS-CC/ACR 8.2.
Whenever the versions of LR and ACR are compatible, then LR tells PS to open the raw file using LR’s settings, and PS uses the ACR plug-in to open the raw file with those settings.
The message occurs when the time it takes to render the raw file on the way into PS longer than a certain amount of time.
If your LR and CS6-ACR were up-to-date and you weren’t seeing the message, then perhaps something was slightly faster with those two products, and the message wasn’t displayed, or perhaps PS-CC’s time-limit for showing that message was made a shorter amount of time.
If your LR and CS6-ACR weren’t synchronized in their versions (e.g. LR 5.2 and CS6-ACF 7.1) then LR could have been rendering the file as a TIF or PSD so PS isn’t using ACR to render the file.
As far as LR-non-CC and LR-CC being the same.  They operate on images files the same, the real difference will occur with LR 6, which you won’t have to pay extra for if you’re using the CC version.
There isn’t any reason to download and install LR-CC 5.2 when you already have the regular LR 5.2, but once LR 5.3 comes out, you might as well let CC download and install it, so you won’t have to worry about it, later.  It may be that you’ll have to uninstall LR non-CC 5.2, but perhaps that has been changed in recent updates of the CC Manager app or will be when LR 5.3 is release in the next few weeks.

  • RAW formatted DVDs

I was given the DVD-r's from a Sony Handycam to download into iMovie. When I insert the DVD, I am told I am inserting a blank disk. After some research, this DVD is in RAW format which Apple doesn't recognize. How can I convert it into a format I can download?
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

You'll probably need a third party application like "ReadDVD" , macnuwbie.
I've only used it to handle DVD-RAM discs recorded on a "standalone" player, myself, but it can also handle the "VR" format often used in DVD based cameras.
Its actually the format of the disc, rather than the format of the files, that causes the primary problem here.
If you run into further problems with file conversion then VisualHub does a nice job. MPEG StreamClip is another option
(Edit - it seems as if you may actually be able to read them simply using Toast these days - see http://www.mcs.sdsmt.edu/mcgough/public/SonyiMac.html )
Personally I wouldn't be too happy about putting 8cm discs into any Mac slot loading drive, even though some may be able to deal with them. The early iMac G3 slot loaders were meant to be able to handle them, but many ran into problems and Apple stopped suggesting they were compatible. If you have a tray loading drive, of course, its another matter.
    Cheers
