Raw from fujifilm x-e1 - photoshop elements

Can photoshop elements 11 read raw format from fujifilm x-e1 without the raw converter? Or have all raw formats to be transfered in an 'photoshop raw'. If so, does it mean a reduction of the quality of the picture?

See that faq about raw formats:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1030798?tstart=0
It appears that you need the version 7.2 of the Adobe raw plug-in. That version is only available in PSE11, and if you update the plug-in from the help menu.
If you have an older Elements version (before PSE11) you could use the free Adobe DNGconverter (scroll down in the above link). You could batch convert whole folders of your raw files to the DNG format which older Elements version can read.
Do not mistake the 'Photoshop raw' format with the DNG format. It's a very old file format which is not even supported in PSE11. Read about the DNG format in the above link.
Converting to the DNG format does not 'reduce the quality' of the picture, many users systematically convert their raw files to that format. You don't have to, it's another choice of workflow.

  • Is it possible to send photos from LR 5 to Photoshop Elements 12 and directly get them opened in layers?

I want to do Exposure Blending in Photoshop Elements 12 and I am wondering if it is possible to send photos (RAW) from LR 5 to Photoshop Elements 12 and get them directly opend in different layers?

I don't use Photoshop Elements. Photoshop has an option to open images merging them to HDR. Does Elements have an HDR option? If it doesn't then I don't think there's any way to send the images layered.

  • How can I  process raw files from lumix GH4 on photoshop elements 12?

How can I  process raw files from lumix GH4 on photoshop elements 12?

Your files should open in photoshop elements 12, since there is only one version of camera raw 8.5
(RC means a release candidate of 8.5, which came before the final version of camera raw 8.5 and was for testing)
In the pse 12 editor if you go to File>Open and select one of the lumix GH4 and then press Open, what happens?
In the pse 12 editor, if you go to Photoshop Elements>About Plug-in and click on the words Camera Raw, what version does it say?

  • Is Camera RAW 8.6 embedded in Photoshop Elements 13?

Is Camera RAW 8.6 embedded in Photoshop Elements 13?  This version of Camera RAW is necessary to open RAW (NEF) files from the Nikon D750 DSLR.

You might need to update it by going to:
    Help >> Updates
Have you tried installing the trial version to see if it works on your system?  It is a good idea to try it first and then when you like it, you can buy the boxed version from Amazon and use the serial number from the box to activate your trial version that you have installed.  There is no need to install again if the trial version is already on your system
    The latest version is 8.7
    Good luck.

  • How do I download images from a camera into Photoshop Elements 7?

Previously I've  downloaded digital images directly from my camera into Photoshop Elements 7.0  In trying to do that today, I go to "File", choose "Get pictures from Camera", then see a "source" box, with an instruction to "Get Pictures from:" and offers a "source" box for choosing.  The single "source" listed is my printer, not my camera!  Am I doing something wrong? Is Photoshop defective?
    Please help me out.
    Gene F.

    Hi Gene
    Yes Elements is defective.
There are known bugs with the photo downloader, notably if you run the program on a net book or laptop with minimum screen resolution.
Go to the control panel and check dpi scaling under Appearance or Display.
It’s not uncommon to see a setting of 125% or higher to improve screen readability but PSE9 requires a dpi of 96 or 100%
Whilst the Editor Menu will appear at 120% the Organizer Menu (and the advanced button in downloader) will not.
Try a setting of 115% or 116% otherwise 100%. A common display resolution, notably for laptops and netbooks is 1024 x 768 but PSE9 requires a screen height of 800 for full functionality.

  • Am I able to convert RAW files to jpegs on Photoshop Elements?

Am I able to convert RAW files to jpegs on Photoshop Elements?

    Hi,
Sorry, but with the information you have given, the only answer I can give is "possibly".
Each camera model produces a slightly different raw format - even different models by the same manufacturer and even if they have the same extension (file type). The latest cameras will not be supported by older versions of Photoshop Elements although there is a converter which can help.
To give you a better answer, we need to know
    1) The camera make and model
    2) The version of Photoshop Elements that you are using
    3) The operating system that you are running on.

  • How can I open RAW files from Nikon D7100 in Photoshop Elements 9?

How can I open RAW files from my Nikon D7100 in Photoshop Elements 9

    Three choices:
    1. Upgrade to PSE11
    2. download the free Adobe DNG Converter and then convert your RAWs to DNG, which will open in PSE9
    3. Use manufacturer's software and convert to TIF (or JPG)

  • Uploading RAW files from Canon SL1 using photoshop elements 10

I have photoshop elements 10 and a Canon SL1 camera.  My friend has photoshope elements 12 and the same camera.  She can "open in RAW" under her drop down "file" menu but I don't find that in my elements 10 program?  What gives?  How do I open my RAW files in photoshop elements 10?

“What gives” is your PSE10 is too old to deal with SL1 raw files, directly.  The ACR 7.4 plug-in was the first camera-raw version to support SL1 raw files.  I don’t think PSE11 ever got the ACR 7.4 update, but PSE12 comes with ACR 8.0 which is new enough.
You can try converting your SL1 CR2 files to DNGs using the DNG Converter 8.3 available at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html or you can upgrade your PSE to one new enough to support your new camera’s raw files,  natively.
Or you can use a different Adobe product such as Lightroom or subscribe to the PS-CC+LR-CC for $10/month.

  • How open raw from canon eos 70D in elements 11

I cannot open raw from canon eos 70D in photoshop elements 11. Help me please.

Your PSE is too old—the camera was released after a newer version of software was available and Adobe only adds new camera support to the newest version of software.
Specifically, the 7D Mark II needs ACR 8.7 and PSE12 can only be updated to ACR 8.5.
    Your choices are to:
Use the DNG Converter 8.7 or newer to create DNGs from the CR2s and those DNGs will open in the older version of ACR that comes with PSE12, OR
Buy the newer version of Element 13 that can be updated to a new enough Adobe Camera Raw plugin.
The DNG Converter is available from the Adobe Updates page:
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates
And the newer version of Elements is available from the Adobe Products page:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/software.html
Another option would be to use Lightroom 5.7 or newer and use Edit in Photoshop Elements from LR once most of your raw adjustments are done, for any final touches in Elements.
For any of these choices you’d want to download the latest updates and run the software in trial mode to make sure your computer is compatible before paying anything.
BTW, I have the 7D Mark II and like it very much, having upgraded from an older Digital Rebel, but I’m not that thrilled with the in-camera JPG processing so always use Adobe products for raw development.

  • Opening NEF file from Nikon D7100 i Photoshop Elements 11, problem.

    Hi
Photoshop Element no. 11 do not open NEF file from Nikon D7100.
Versjon of element: Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 11.0 (11.0 (20120830.r.32025)) x32
    Pleas help me.
    Martin Høegh

How do I update Adobe Bridge CS4 so that I can view NEF files?
Unfortunately, you don't. Bridge can never be updated again once a new version of Creative Suite comes out, so bridge CS4 can't be updated past where it was back when CS5 came out. There is no way to make bridge CS4 see the raw files for the D7100, I'm afraid.
