RAW processing with PSE 3 and Fuji S9600

I've been trying to find out how to open Fuji S9600 RAW (.RAF) files from PSE 3 (Win XP) without success! I cannot afford to upgrade to PSE 6. Is there any way I can do this as I understand the PSE RAW processor is very good?

Problems with PSE 11 and Filter Forge

Is anyone else having problems launching Filter Forge from PSE 11? It used to work, but now freezes after a very partial load. FF still works with PSE 9, and yes, I have the latest version of PSE 11 installed on a 64-bit version of Win 7 Pro.

I did not use the trial version of PSE 7 but installed directly from a purchased CD. The "registration" option under the help menu of the editor is not highlighted and there is no option to deactivate the serial number under help in either the editor or the organizer. Therefore I must assume that Ankush is correct that there is nothing that I need to do prior to uninstalling PSE 7.
Also, am I correct to assume that since this original post was marked as a discussion and not a question, I do not need to close it in any way?

That is usually caused by a missing unpack directive (<em:unpack>true</em:unpack>) in the file install.rdf of that extension.

RAW Processing in PSE 6.0

I know there must be a simple answer to this question, but I have not been able to locate it on line or in the reference materials I have. I shoot with a Nikon D200 and shoot in RAW for special portraits I do. I know that the RAW (NEF file) is stored and not modified during processing within PSE. However, when I make my changes for saturation, tint, etc. those changes are reflected in the print in the Organizer and are brought back in if I go to further modify the image. However, if I want to get back to the original image without any of my corrections or adjustments, how do I do that within the PSE Editor?

As a follow up, if I want to save my modifications to my RAW image, how do I keep changes in set 1, changes in set 2 to compare my results? I want to keep the sliders for modifications, or do I have to convert them to PSD files and evaluate the changes within the menus within the Editor?

Problems with PSE 10 and Windows 7

If I close PSE 10 and want to reopen it later, I have to restart my computer. Is there a way around that and will Adobe try to fix the bug or am I stuck with it?

It seems as though the program is not fully closing on exit. Can you check the task manager after closing. Ctrl+Alt+Delete
After opening task manager can you click on the processes tab to see what is running in the background.

RAW Processing with Canon 5D Mark iii

Since upgrading to Aperture 3.3.1 I started to notice a huge decrease in the sharpness of my images. I have checked previous threads and followed up on my Highlight Tone priority settings as well as Post Import Raw Process setting. Having messed around with both settings I have been unable to fix this issue. So I went ahead and downloaded a copy of Lightroom to test. Images imported into lightroom at full 1:1 previews are sharp as a tack. What could be causing my issue with Aperture. I do not want to have to switch but at this point I might not have a choice.
I am importing mRAW files without JPG and applying no Presets. The first time I click on the image it initially loads sharp and then after a split second it becomes "blurry"
Any one else seeing this issue still and have any advice?

Wish I had an answer here, but I will caution about mRAW files. I wouldn't use them, as they are the "red-headed stepchild" of RAW files. They are not true RAW files, and Aperture's support for them came much later than regular RAW files.
I'd recommend shooting regular RAW files and just deleting more of the non-keepers if space is an actual consideration.

RAW processing with iPhoto as front end

I'm using a Canon system and have started shooting in RAW, to allow for better image editing.
I prefer to use iPhoto as my image catalogue & retrieval program rather than the Canon Digital Photo Professional or Adobe Bridge, both of which I have. For most pictures a simple edit using the iPhoto software is enough but for real keepers I'm using Photoshop Elements.
Once I'm through with the editing I run into problems. I'd like to keep the edited file, as a JPEG or TIFF, alongside the original thumbnail in the iPhoto event file but when I use 'Save as JPEG' the saved file just disappears. I know it's in there; Finder can track it down in a folder with the same name as the iPhoto event it originally came from but which is inaccessible from iPhoto. It seems that iPhoto is able to send shots to Elements for editing but won't accept the edited version back. My solution is to save the individual edits to the desktop, drag them individually into iPhoto and then into the event they came from, alongside the original. Am I missing something? Surely Apple have a more elegant solution for re-importing edits. Any advice appreciated.
Also I'd like to hear from anyone who uses Canon RAW & iPhoto and has a better approach to editing and cataloguing images.

May I jump in here with a question? I am sending my raw files to PSE 6. After I am done working on them in the converter program, I click the "save" button on the bottom left side of the window which takes me out of the converter. I don't usually do more with them in PSE 6 so I tell the program that I am "Done" and hit the appropriate button. The file that I had been working on is then sent to iPhoto 8 as a .dng file and is not recognized (by that I mean all the changes that I made to the photo in PSE 6 don't show up when I want to do a project with it in iPhoto). How do I get IPhoto to accept the new file as the one I want to use? I tried going to the "Save preferences..." on PSE6 to have the program save the new file over the older one but no such luck. I did go into the original file and the photo that I was working on was listed twice...once as "DSC_3252.NEF" (obviously the original imported photo from my Nikon) and then as "DSC_3252.dng". If iPhoto won't recognize the .dng extension, what is the value of edititing in PSE6? Sorry if this is long winded. I am new to PS and trying to figure out how the two programs interact is a problem.

Free Goods Import Process with Customs, Freight, and Other Taxes.

I have to import free goods but have to pay for Customs, Freight, and other Taxes.
1. If I tick Free Goods Indicator in PO Line Item, Condition Tab at line item disappears. It will not to calculate other conditions at Header level also. - So I cant execute this option.
2. If i take price of material and insert Condition Type: R001:Discount/Quantity with material price/qty, then it gives Error Message - "Price Must be greater than 0".
So, Is there any way through which I can procure Free Goods and can maintain conditions for Customs, Freight, and other Taxes in Purchase Order.
Please help me in this regard.

1) Create an import PO in ME21N with material price and all custom duty conditions (as you normally create). no need to put free tick indicator.
2) Process MIRO for goods and delivery costs simultaneously.
3) Maintain zero amount for goods item and actual values for the duties (Ensure selection of goods item including delivery cost items)
4) Save the LIV document
5) Check PO item history got updated with IR-L and DCIn. (IR-L will updated with zero amount)
6) Do MIGO w.r.t. IR document number.
7) GR FI document will get updated with the non-set off duty values only.

Need help with a simple process with FTP Adapter and File Adapter

I am trying out a simple BPEL process that gets a file in opaque mode from a FTP server using a FTP adapter and writes it to the local file system using a File Adapter. However, the file written is always empty (zero bytes). I then tried out the FTPDebatching sample using the same FTP server JNDI name and this work fine surprisingly. I also verified by looking at the FTP server logs that my process actually does hit the FTP server and seems to list the files based on the filtering condition - but it does not issue any GET or RETR commands to actually get the files. I am suspecting that the problem could be in the Receive, Assign or Invoke activities, but I am not able identify what it is.
I can provide additional info such as the contents of my bpel and wsdl files if needed.
Would appreciate if someone can help me with this at the earliest.

Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer: Full screen view of lower quality than with PSE 10 and before?!

Upgrading from PSE 10 to 11, I noticed that when I watch my images with the organizer in PSE 11 in full screen view mode (F11), while the images load faster, they are shown in a lower quality than in PSE 10 or any other version of PSE that I owned before. In PSE 11, after the initial viewing in full screen (in the "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to display the "100%" view, there is a delay and the program says "Loading...", after which the 100% view in the full screen mode appears. When I then click another time with the mouse on the image to get back to "fit screen" mode, I get an image of better quality than during the initial view!
So it seems like the program first gives a faster, but lower quality view of the image in full screen mode, and only after the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with full detail, which is then preserved when going back to the "fit screen" view. This is a serious issue for me, because I also use PSE organizer to present my pictures to other people, and I don't want to show them some lower quality versions of my images, but the full quality ones, without having to first choose "100% view" and then go back to "fit screen".
How can I make the PSE 11 organizer give me a full-quality full screen image right away, as this used to be the case in PSE10 and before?
(I have both versions, PSE 11 and PSE 10, now on the same computer and tested this to confirm that the PSE 11 initial full screen view is of lower quality than the PSE 10 one. Also in PSE 10, there is practically no delay for displaying the "100%" view afterwards, indicating that the image was loaded with full detail right away.)

"Thank you for contacting Adobe.
When you press the F11 button, Organizer 11 uses the Bicubic
interpolation mainly because it is less processor intensive compared to
Bicubic Sharper, and it helps to create the preview on the fly, rather
than based on the thumbnail cache.
When you zoom out from the 100% view, Elements Organizer uses Bicubic
Sharper. This is because Bicubic Sharper is used for image reduction, so
if the 100% view is larger than the available screen space, it will need
to shrink. The Bicubic Sharper images may look more crisp however, Like
any sharpening algorithm, Bicubic Sharper introduces halos and
edge-enhancement artifacts. Those halos are typically slight, but any
further sharpening (which you'll need when preparing an image for print,
for example) will exaggerate them.This is expected behavior. The
Organizer isn't great for determining exact quality, I recommend you to
use Elements Editor for this purpose.

Why I am wondering about the choice to use the "Bicubic" algorithm when pressing F11 in PSE 11 is that all previous versions of PSE that I owned (which spans from PSE 6 to PSE 10) did use the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm right away when pressing F11. So apparently Adobe didn't worry about processor intensity of this algorithm then, and computers are getting all the time more powerful.
It is true that in some situations, the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may introduce halos and edge-enhancement artifacts, as you write. On the other hand, especially on smaller resolution screens, the results of the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may look more crisp and lively, while the ones of the "Bicubic" algorithm may look more flat and lack fine detail. How can I REPLACE original RAW files with JPG's and keep my 'Develop mode' edits?

'edits' = Edits made in develop mode.
'CR2' = My RAW image file format.
I have existing CR2's with edits for them saved in Lightroom.
I want to replace the CR2's with JPG's, and do nothing else. I want those JPG's to inherit the CR2's edits, but I DO NOT want the edits to be permanently applied to the image.
If I export the CR2's (which have edits) to JPG's, the edits will be permanently applied to them. I do not want this.
If I export the CR2's to JPG's without the edits, I have no way of getting the edits back and will have to redo the work if I use that photo again.
Any solutions? I've been trying for a while and have no idea how to do this.
Q: Why not keep the CR2's?
A: I am uploading these files to an online host (S3) as my primary storage method and uploading CR2's takes way too long with my internet speeds. Furthermore, online storage costs money.
Q: Why not shoot with JPGs instead of shooting raw?
A: I do my initial edits with the raw files and then archive them as JPG's to save storage space. They won't be raw anymore if I apply future edits, but I still have the option of retouching them from the 'original' state and still have my old edits preserved.

Probably the best thing for you to do is simply use lossy DNG format (e.g. export as, or convert to..): raw data is re-formatted with jpeg compression (full-rez or reduced-rez), but all raw settings apply.
If you insist on trying to have a true jpeg file with (mostly) raw settings, then:
The simplest way I can think of to do it without a script or plugin:
* Reset the raw photo (consider preserving things that don't translate well, like profile-based lens corrections and white balance).
* Export jpeg
* Un-reset the image (e.g. using edit history or pre-reset snapshot).
* Sync settings from raw to jpeg (note: omit settings that don't transfer well, or that were not reset..).
* Optionally: Delete raw
To automate/streamline would require a script or plugin.

Question about this - How do I get the results analysis to post COPA? I have created a cost element for the results ananlysis posting (which is not recommended by SAP). Then I set OKB9 to COPA, but it is posting COPA with blank segment (only compnay code!). I can see the sales order & sales order item # in the FI line item. But this info is not sent to COPA!

We have a similar requirement. We do have CRM but don't wish to implement it for this purpose.
In the SNP planning boook, we want to be able at the SNP vendor location to see the total requirement for both materials to be delivered to our normal supply chain as well as those directly delivered to customers. The direct delivery sales orders are entered to R3 according to the standard process; the purchase requisitions and PO's for these do not go to SNP. The customer location is set-up in SNP. Is there a way to make the purchase req's and orders visible in the SNP Planning Book???

Raw processing in PSE 11

I have just brought a one month old 70d body and wish to now work from Raw photos. I have PSE11 loaded on my computor (windows 7) I find raw in plug in but cannot open from drop down.My PSE 11 is a download.
My test photos were in raw + Jpreg.
Camera is CS2 and needs 7.1 +process.
As I have just brought the camera I have no money to upgrade to PSE12 or lightroom.

No. Support for the 70D was added in ACR8.2 which needs PSE12 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html.
You can download Adobes DNG Converter and convert your 70D files to Adobes RAW DNG format which will then open in PSE11 - http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html#downloads.
You can use the software that comes with the camera to process the RAW and convert them to TIFF for PSE11.
This site contains instructions, untested by me, on a workaround to install 8.2 into PSE11 - http://atr935.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/pe11-and-12-camera-raw-plug-in-version.html. However if you want to access camera profiles in Camera RAW you would still need to install the DNG Converter as well.

Using a Nikon Nef Raw file with PSE 9

I am just starting to look at the RAW capability of my Nikon D3100, it comes with software called View NX 2 which your supposed to use to deal with the RAW files etc, but I am wondering how good is PSE 9 when working with (Nikon's) Nef RAW files? Should I be using View NX 2 for this?
