RAW support for Lumix DMC LX2

RAW support for Lumix DMC LX2--is this available? coming? Now that I have purchased Aperture and downloaded 1.5, am sad to find that I still must process RAW for my camera in Photoshop.
Thoughts? Help?

Did you try to first convert your RAW file into a DNG file (using Adobe DNG converter) and then import it in your Aperture library?
I'm planning to buy an LX2 as an everyday camera, and I have the same issue.
If you find a solution please tell me.

  • Aperture update 2.1.3 still no RAW support for Lumix G1

Once again and after posting to Apple development we still have no RAW support for the Panasonic Lumix G1. How much longer Apple...!

RAW support updates are separate from Aperture updates..
Maybe with 10.5.7... or another RAW compatibility update sometime.. hopefuly soon.

  • Support for Lumix DMC-GH1K

I just purchased a Lumix DMC-GH1K camera and have not been able to download the pictures into iPhoto. When I plug the camera in iPhoto starts and gives me thumbnail previews of the pictures but when I try to import them it says that it can not recognized the format (.RW2). Any ideas?

Download and try Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh. It's free and may work on those RAW files.

  • Please add support for Lumix DMC-LX1

I've had this excellent camera for a few months and am frustrated I can't use its RAW files with Aperture.
At least I can use it with Lightroom and Photoshop CS2, but I want to use Aperture. I sincerely hope cameras are added to Aperture at least as quickly as Adobe can add them.

I doubt you will have much luck here. I wish support for my Konica Minolta A200 would be added but there is little hope now Konica Minolta have left the market.
One of Apple's main shortcomings in this area is their lack of RAW support. This will probally lead Adobe to have the upper hand with RAW processing as they support 100s more cameras than Apple do!

  • RAW support for Panasonic DMC-FZ1000.

My research indicated 5.2 supports the DMC-FZ100 for RAW.  I just purchased and installed upgrade to Lightroom 5.2 from 4.4 but it does not support the camera in RAW.  Non-support message is received when trying to import RAW files from the camera.
    Help?

So, is it the FZ100  or FZ1000? The latter requires Lightroom 5.6 or newer. If you click on Help->Updates in Lightroom you will be guided to update to Lightroom 5.7.1. But when you start that version it will advise you that there is yet another upgrade. That would be to Lightroom CC/6. If you don't want to go that route right now just click on the ignore button in the lower left-hand corner of that notification.

  • CS4 raw support for Lumix LX5 RW2 files

It appears that the new Camera Raw Adapter 6.2 that supports the new Lumix LX5 raw files is not compatible with Photoshop CS4.  Does this mean I will never be able to process LX5 raw files with CS4?

Adobe provides backwards compatibility in CS2, CS3 and CS4 for new cameras through the FREE DNG Converter:
    Win: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4803
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4802
There are other benefits to using DNG besides backward compatibility if you haven’t explored those:
The metadata, keywords and RAW adjustments are stored in the file – along with a processed preview of the image. This makes the file portable and keeps your metadata safe and secure.
DNG files are smaller than the original RAW file which will save you disk space and time in the long run.
DNG is an openly specified file format which means the file format isn’t going away. So if you use another RAW processor that supports DNG, you don’t have to worry about compatibility or portability of your metadata.

  • RAW support for Lumix GX1?

When will Aperture start supporting RAW files from Panasonic Lumix GX1? Do I really have to switch to Lightroom?

I think the Aperture RAW releases are consistently shoddy versus Adobe.  And Adobe is not a company people tend to hype.
I've had a GX1 since before Christmas, and about 10 weeks later RAW suuport is still not available in Aperture while it has been in Adobe Camera Raw for some time.  Apple consistently drags the chain on getting RAW updates out.
No sense blaming the camera manufacturer.  It's unlikely they rush details to Adobe and sit back for a few months before letting Apple know.
I paid about $250 for Aperture in Australia and soon after it was being sold for around $80.  Not a happy experience.  Now with Lightroom 4 floating around, I think I'll be switching soon.
It's strange how Apple offers such a great customer experience and such excellent products across most of the company, while little niches like Aperture and Filemaker seem to so lag behind.

  • Oh no- new update and still no support for my panasonic lumix dmc-lx2-

Read the slightly newer topic by Pat Gilmour "Lumix DMC-LX1 RAW......" and you can see it is feasible, if not convenient. Note that for the LX2 you have to follow the instructions for the LX1 but write LX2 instead. It works a beauty for me

When is the RAW Support for Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 available?

  • Why no RAW support for Fuji X10?

The Fuji X10 has been on the market for almost a year now and there still is no RAW support for it in Aperture. Why?

Only Apple can asnwer the "Why?" questions, I'm afriad.
Aperture menu -> Provide Aperture Feedback and let them know you want it.

  • Is there Camera RAW support for Lightroom 4.4 and Canon 7D Mark ii?

I need Camera RAW support for Lightroom 4.4 and Canon 7D Mark ii.  Is there a Camera RAW version for me?

Thanks for your help.  I checked out DNG on YouTube and understand more
about it.  I downloaded the DNG converter and transferred in files from my
camera.  Then I imported into Lightroom.  It works!   Thanks again.

  • Camera Raw Support for Canon 7D MkII

Just trying to get some idea if I should spend the $99.00 to buy Aperture from the Apple Store.  This might sound a little over the top, but the work flow I miss by not having RAW support in Lightroom is worth the expense of buying Aperture.
I do find it very disappointing that Adobe have not as yet provided support for the new Canon 7D MkII.  This will be a VERY popular camera.
More importantly I find this tardiness on Adobe's part very disappointing because they market CC buy saying "You will always have up to date software".  When you consider Apple and Google Picasa have both already supported the Canon 7D MkII.  I might add they both had support for the camera within days of it's release on 31 of Oct.
    So after my little rant.
Can anybody from Adobe advise when we will see Camera Raw support the new Canon 7DMkII?
Even if it is in Beta form I would be very happy to be a Beta tester.  I have very extensive experience in testing software and would be prepared to do structured Beta testing.  I would be very happy if someone from Adobe Labs would contact me for the purpose of Beta testing Camera Raw support for the 7D MkII.
    Kind Regards
    Tom Croll

Thanks ssprengel, you have clearly put into words what is currently reality at Adobe, and confirmed my suspicion of Aperture being a dead product.  Although Google's Picasa is not dead.
I do realize Adobe Products are very well developed and software does take time to perfect before it gets released.  I have been in the software development game for 35 years
But Camera RAW is an adjunct to Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro etc.  As such the support for new camera models should be a relatively simple exercise and should not be held up by other R&D on the products that Camera Raw plugs into.  I believe they have in the past released updates to Camera Raw that essentially was just for new camera models.  I do realize I could be wrong on this point, but I fail to see why they can't achieve this outcome.
Also, as I said Adobe Market Creative Cloud membership saying you will always be up to date. Or words to that effect.
To have an Adobe support person get upset because he has a large number of people pestering Adobe, and not him personally, trying to get ans answer as to the timing of the release of support for a new camera model, quite frankly is totally unacceptable.  Not acceptable to the customers and not acceptable to the poor support person who has to handle disgruntled customers due to poor planning on Adobe's part.
In my original post I made a very serious offer to do Beta Testing on support for the Canon 7DMkII Raw files.  But when i last checked with Adobe Labs the current Beta does not include support for this camera.
There maybe extenuating circumstances around the timely supply of this support.  Like when did Canon provide the Specs for the 7D MkII and are those specs so different from other currently supported models.   Even some feedback as to what the problem is, would help us understand.
I hope I have expressed my thoughts objectively and hope this discussion stream will get to management at Adobe.  In fact I am very inclined to ensure it does get to senior management.  I don't want to start writing a personal letter to the Chairman of Adobe's Board, but sometimes things do need a shake up.
    Kind Regards

  • RAW support for Olympus E-5

I upgraded my E-510 to an E-5 last month (the E-5 was only released in November) and discovered that I can't process my RAW files in CS5.  Does anyone know when, or how long it will be before, RAW support for the camera will be available?
Yes, I know I can use the Olymus software to process the files, but I prefer PhotoShop.

You might get an answer in the Camera Raw forum.

  • [Consolidation-Locked] Please add RAW support for the Nikon D600 to Lightroom as soon as possible!

    My Fair Adobe,
Please add RAW support for the Nikon D600 to Lightroom as soon as possible!
ViewNX lets me get to the images, but come on!!! I know Lightroom, and you, ViewNX, are no Lightroom.
Yes, I see everyone else ASKING for D600 support. I'm here to beg for it! Don't make me wait much longer!

Rob, my reading of your site is that this plug-in copies settings from raw to jpeg, does it work the other way around as well?

One of the great things about the new 0-based defaults and linear tone curve is:
You can develop the jpegs now, in Lightroom, and then sync the settings to the raws later (e.g. using RawPlusJpeg), and provided you select a matching camera profile, they will look almost the same (white balance won't translate over, but everything else will, more or less). Beware lens corrections applied to the raws might alter the registration of precision local adjustments.
Note: I recommend shooting with ADL off in order for this to work better, and consider turning sharpening off in camera as well, and noise reduction and everything else to whatever extent is possible.

  • No Raw support for Olympus e620

Cant believe aperture 3 does not have raw support for the Olympus E620. I am nearly ready to upgrade. Can Apple get there act together on this.

Harass the company - go to
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    select Aperture
and request support for the cameras that you use and want to be supported
Tell them you will have to migrate to LightRoom if they do not support the camera.
Now that Apple have moved to a new version of the Raw converter program they have little excuse for not adding these cameras.
