Raw-support nikon d600 and elements 11

Hi
I've installed photoshop elements 11 and update the raw-converter by the update  tool in elements 11. It shows me that raw 7.3 was available and I installed it. After restarting elements 11 I'm still not able to import D600 raw-files. It says the format can not be imported.
I've still elemtns 9 installed, Must I deinstall this? Any other thins I've to do/install?
thanks and regards
Mike

  • Nikon D600 and Elements 10

    Hi
I recently bought a Nikon D600 and don't seem to be able to load photos onto Photoshop Elements 10.  Any suggested solutions would be most appreciated.  I have tried to install "Updates" from the Help menu but it says that the applications are all up-to-date.
Is Camera RAW 7.3 just for CS and not for Elements?
    Don

Thanks for the prompt response Barbara.
I will look at this again tomorrow.  It's time for bed.

No, it's for PSE, too, but only for PSE 11. You can use the Nikon software to convert the files or download the free DNG converter from Adobe and use that to create files that your version of ACR can read, or upgrade to PSE 11. • Shooting RAW with Nikon d600 and photoshop cs5?

I have a Nikon d600 and need to shoot RAW instead of jpeg. I have always shot in jpeg so I don't know where to even start. I have CS5 and I don't know what I need to do to be able to load, edit and return pictures to clients. Please help.

The D600 didn't get RAW out-of-the-box support until Camera Raw version 7.3...which is in CS6 and above.
You have a few options (in free to paid order):
Use the software that came with the D600 to open and work with Canon NEF files.
Download and install the DNG Converter so that you can open converted Canon NEF files to DNG and open those in CS5.
Pay to upgrade to Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC.
Beyond that, if your camera isn't already doing it, you should be able to switch to NEF for file format by going into the D600's user interface menu. (Most cameras will let you shoot JPEG-only, which is sometimes the default, RAW-only or JPEG+RAW. Consult the D600's manual or just dig around the menus for such a setting.)

Elements 11 states that it does not support the camera raw from my new Nikon D600 and that I should go to "the Camera Raw help documentation." When I click on the help menu I get a message from my browser stating that it is a dangerous website. Now what

Unfortunately it was clicking on Updates that brought the “dangerous website” pop-up, but several hours later I tried again for the umpteenth time, and it worked! I am so glad because I am working on a project with a deadline.
Thanks for replying. Maybe if someone else has this problem they could be told to wait a few hours and try again.
The main option on the ‘dangerous’ pop-up is a “Get me out of here!” button, which I always clicked. There are options to go to the website anyway, but I am too leery of the web to do that. Now that I know it’s possible to reach the update center without risk I will never consider it.
    Thanks again,

Since pse 9 can only use up to camera raw 6.5 and the d600 needs at least 7.3 and the d800 needs at least 6.7, you can use the
8.6 adobe dng converter to convert those files to dng copies, which then pse 9 should open.

  • Error with Nikon D600 and PSE 11 in RAW 9 (.nef) files.

When I used PSE 8, I could easily open any .nef files and edit them.
Now with PSE 11, I get an error message that says my camera is now not compatible. I have had a Nikon D600 and use a Nikon ED AF-S Nikkor VR 24-85mm 1:35-45G, Nikon ED EF-S Nikkor VR 70-300mm 1:45-56G lens and a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm1:35-56G lens too.
The error message says "...file appears from a camera model which is not supported by installed version of Camera Raw ...". Why it PSE 11 not backward compatible?
I bought PSE 11 2 weeks ago. I bought the Nikon from a local camera shop in November 2012.
Per the Adobe website, I have installed DNG patches 7.2, 7.3 and 8.1. None have resolved the problem after fully installing the download (through Finish) and rebooting the PC several times.
I tried to download DNG 7.3, it fails
Where can I obtain the CS6 file the Adobe website says should resolve the problem too?
I have an HP PC running Windows Vista 32 BIT Processor.

I just caught the part about your  having "uploaded DNG patches 7.2, 7.3 and 8.1".
Those are not "patches" at all but stand-alone applications on their own right.  You don't just install the DNG Converter, you actually have to run the converter in a separate step and convert the raw Nikon NEF files to raw DNG files.  The DNG Converter does not do anything magically or automatically.  Point the DNG Converter to the folder containing your raw files; it works on folders, not on individual files.  But you shouldn't even remotely need the Adobe DNG Converter in the first place.
However, most importantly, what you need to update is your ACR plug-in.
No matter when you buy an Adobe application, it will ALWAYS need to be updated right away, and so do all plug-ins.  What you buy is always the original release, and by the time it's out there it will inevitably be obsolete.
If you go to the Help menu in Elements, I'm assuming it will have a menu item for Updates (or Check for Updates), that should offer to apply any applicable updates to Elements and to ACR plug-in.

Uh huh...and you'll need to convert those NEF files to DNG files using the free DNG Converter in order to use them with Photoshop CS5. Either that or upgrade to Photoshop CS6. BTW, it's prolly not a great idea to post your personal information on a forum...you might want to edit that out.

  • PSE 11 RAW FILES NIKON D600

cannot open my RAW files from PSE 11 or PSE 10.  I recently bought nikon D600 and cannot edit pictures at all.  I bought the PSE11 today because a representative from adobe told me today that my camera was supported.  I have downloaded DNG converter and still no luck!!

Pse 11 will or should open the nikon d600 files if you update the camera raw plugin to version 7.4 by
going to Help>Updates from within the photoshop elements 11 editor.

  • Does Elements 11 Camera RAW support Nikon D4 files?

Does the Camera RAW tool that comes with Elements version 11 support editing Nikon D4 RAW files?  Thanks.

I cannot verify it personally, but PSE11 ships with ACR 7.1 and the readme for ACR 7.1 says it newly supports the D4:

  • Raw Camera Support-Nikon D600

Where is the Aperture support for RAW images from a Nikon D600 ?

    Hi Léonie,
    I appreciate your answer.
You have given me a basic understanding of the relationship of RAW image to the sensor and its intricacies.
I am still frustrated, bacause buying a camera for me involves a lot of research and I feel I let the reviews convince me to purchase the D600. Now I realise, none of the reviewers talked about how they looked at the pictures. What software they used is not in the limelight. When I buy something, I would like to use it without feeling uncertain that the camera will ever come to life and the picture it takes will be what I should be seeing.
The word RAW is a fairly generic term for me. NEF, on the other hand is like a number which is equivalent to the same number. I.e. 2=2 NEF=NEF. My conclusion is attributable to my scientific background. I am wrong.
Buying a camera whose product must be first converted to be used by a multitude of software is unfair to me. Release of the structure of the sensor makes the software industry able to adjust the missing link. Well, this suggestion makes me think. At this moment I am not sure I accept it. I want to be able to use the camera the next day I buy it and I don't feel like waiting for an unspecified length of time before it turns out, I am faced with yet another purchase. Purchase of CS6, because it will have an update that will process my pictures.
I wish to build up enough knowledge on the features of DNG which is the best candidate at this time. I found many uncertainties about the DNG structure and content. I want to make sure it is the real image I should be seeing.
Thanks again for you reading my lines and taking time to reply.
    Best,
    géza

  • Adobe Camera Raw for Nikon D600

I have just purchased a Nikon D600 camera and am looking to use it with my Photoshop CS4 and ACR 5.7. Is Adobe going to upgrade ACR 5.7 for the Nikon D600 or do I need to upgrade to CS6 and the latest version of ACR?

    Hi Ivan,
Yes you will need to upgrade to photoshop cs6 to use the latest version of camera raw (7.2).
However you can use the free DNG Converter 7.2 to convert the D600 files to dng copies which cs4 should then open in camera raw 5.7.

  • Lightroom 4 raw files Nikon D600

received lightroom 4 with my Nikon D600 & can't import raw files.  It says it does not recognize the files & also can't view the thumbnails.  using a card reader

That camera requires at least Lightroom 4.3.  If you have only installed from the disk that came with your camera you need to update your version.  The last version you can update to is version 4.6, and that will support your camera as well.

  • Camera RAW for Nikon D610 on Elements 12?

I Just bought my Nikon D610 and had been using Elements 11 up to this point and was very hapoy with it. However I quickly learned that Elements 11 does not support the new RAW files and read that Element 12 does, so I purchased the upgrade. I am so dissapointed that after the download Elements is still not able to read the files. Did I just waste my money? Can you get the Camer RAW 8.3 plug in for Elements 12?

the Box that PSE12 comes in says it works in XP sp3. IS this a lie?
No it is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth except
that you don't get automatic updates for Camera Raw 8.3.
