RAW thumbnails not showing up as images

I just upgraded to CS6 today but my RAW thumbnails are not showing up. I have a new camera but a new upgrade should be formatted already for the newer cameras I would think. Anyway, anyone know what I need to do?

The first thing i would do is from within photoshop cs6 go to Help>Updates to get the latest
updates for your adobe software which includes the newest camera raw plugin.
Also, which camera are the files from?

These images DO process with the changes when I run my actions.
For example: Open images in bridge. Edit. Open reaming images in camera raw. Push the images two stops in camera raw. Close camera raw. Images in bridge show no change. Run action to turn raw files into psd. Final PSD appear pushed two stops.
Purging Cache make no difference.

You are using Embedded thumbnails. These are small and fast, but do not show raw edits.
You need to use one of the HQ thumb options to see the edits.

Hello I am trying to download the videos I took with my iphone onto my computer, but the iphone is not showing up in image capture or iphoto. Does anyone know how to get the videos off without degrading the video quality.

Photos captured by your iPhone shouldn't be a problem.
Photos saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received MMS has caused this problem for some, and I'm not sure why. I haven't experienced the same yet. This may include screenshots.
Email the screenshots only to yourself followed by deleting the screenshots from your iPhone's Camera Roll, and the same for any photos saved from a received email, from a website, or from a received
MMS.
Test if this resolves the problem for importing the photos and video that were captured by your iPhone.

Brother DCP8080DN scanner does not show up in Image Capture's list of devic

Hi, I've been printing successfully to a Brother DCP-8080DN for a while now. I have the latest CUPS driver and recently installed the latest Twain driver from Brother. I can scan from the Brother Control Center utility but the printer scanner does not show up in Image Capture nor does it appear in the Print&Fax Print Queue (it's supposed to show up on the right side). Any idea how to get 10.6.6 to recognize the scanner? Rebooting didn't help.

I found the legacy twain_32.8ba however when I try to find the "into" location, and I typed it very carefully..there is no path to this location.
I can't understand why Adobe would do this to me. Do they expect me to go out and buy another scanner? I've written to Microtek. All previous versions of Elements I've had import from this scanner and I've installed the latest scanner software. It's horrible that I have to throw away the money I spent on this so-called upgrade and go back to a previous version. Who thinks up this stuff?
I hope other potential purchasers of 9 understand what they're getting into. I would also like to get rid of the bothersome "ID interface" at the beginning..I would like to get to Photoshop edit is quickly as possible but Adobe is putting me through some sort of merchandising of their "free" web space. The library module in 4.3 version does not show all the images

The library module in the version 4.3 of Lightroom does not show all the images. They are marked with gray boxes instead of images. This is especially true of the images which I tried to import to Lightroom since I downloaded 4.3 a few weeks ago. If I want to seen an image, I have to go to the develop module to see it. What should I do? Get this fixed now!!!!!!!!

My bet would be on a corrupt preview folder.
Your preview folder is located in the same folder as your catalog. It has the same name as your catalog with the word Previews.LRDATA at the end of the name. Rename this folder and let Lightroom rebuild the previews. Go to Library>Previews>Render Standard-sized Previews. See if that fixes it.

Image Gallery Magic Thumbnails Not Showing

I have an existing page which I've added a new gallery to.
The gallery
looks fine in Dreamweaver but as soon as it's viewed in IE
the thumbnails do
not show up. If I select the encoding of the page to "none"
all works fine
with the gallery but my DIV tags don't works properly, i.e
they don't

Nikon Df Nef File Thumbnails not showing in Adobe Bridge CS5

HI,
I am having trouble getting NEF thumbnail to show in Bridge CS5, but only from the Nikon Df. All other, older, NEF files are showing up without a problem
I have installed the latest updates (Camera Raw etc)
I would appreciate any advice on getting this to happen.

I did install the DNG converter 8.3 but I still NEF files as a NEF icon. Any clues to what I may not be doing right there?

IPhoto Preview Thumbnails not showing up in FrontRow

When cycling through my albums and slideshows I am not seeing the preview images to the left of the iPhoto titles. I tried rebuilding the iPhoto Thumbnails and database using the Cmd-Opt keys when starting iPhoto and that still did not do it. The odd thing is if I edit an image in iPhoto and it saves the new file then a preview shows up in Front Row. Then you can see that Front Row is trying to cycle throught the rest of the thumbnails since the preview area stutters a bit. The images in my iPhoto library are all JPEGs and when I look in the /users/me/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Data/YYYY/ ... There are thumbnails in those directories as I would expect. I am using a brand new iMac and I did a firewire transfer of my stuff from my powerbook al when I took the machine out of the box. I also deleted all my iPhoto pictures in my library (I have a backup) using iPhoto and started adding fresh jpegs...still the same behavior. I posted this problem on the Front Row forum and Doug feels this is an iPhoto problem. Is this a bug? Is there a preference setting that I am missing?

Thanks, The photos appear in iPhoto in the expected manner. I looked for a front row cache and Doug in the Front Row forum seemed to think that Front Row is just dipping into the iPhoto Thumbnails instead of having its own "cache". Seems like I am in a stalemate hear. I am fairly new to the Mac community. My last Mac was an SE30, which went out of my life long ago. Is there any way to find out if this a bug or bring this to Apple's attention?

Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Professional - Explorer Thumbnails not showing

Hi to all:
Recently I upgraded my Acrobat professional (part of the CS3 Design Premium Package) to version 8.1., and now the thumbnails in the windows explorer on PDF files are not showing anymore (in some files). It's only showing a simple sheet with the acrobat logo inside. Is there any way to bring them back?
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, 1.5 Gb memory and a 256 Mb. Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 Graphic card.

I have the same problem mentioned in the original post of this thread. It looks like the first reply misunderstood the issue. It is this:
In Windows Explorer on XP or Vista with Acrobat 7 (maybe 8.0 too, I don't know) the icon for a PDF file would display a thumbnail image of the first page of the PDF.
Starting with 8.1 (it might have been 8.0, but I skipped that version) the thumbnails are not shown -- only the Acrobat icon.
Before someone suggests it -- yes I have unchecked "Always show icons, never thumbnails" in the folder options dialog for Explorer. So that is not the problem here.
I have read hints about a fued between Adobe and Microsoft that brought this situation about. I am disappointed that Adobe is willing to punish their customers (again) as part of this battle.
With this and other lost features in 8.1 as well as the lack of response I have had over a licensing question, I have decided to switch to NitroPDF instead. If I have to, I'll write my own thumbnail viewer using the Foxit API.

Contents thumbnails not showing

I just generated two new single-folio apps. In the Contents menu, the thumbnail images are not showing. Where the contents thumbnails should be, only a capital letter is displayed. What would cause the thumbnail images to not show? How do I fix it?

Amended file thumbnails not showing in Organiser

If I amend an image and then save the file (using various formats such as tif, psd and jpg) in a version set the amended file's thumbnail does not show in Organiser. It appears a 'broken file' icon.
How can I get it to show the amended image?

Newly imported thumbnails not showing previews

Today when I was importing images off a memory card I noticed the thumbnails in library mode were not showing any previews, they were blank (gray) for only the recently imported items. My other folders' thumbnails are showing previews with no issue.
I am working in Lightroom 4. I am using Windows 8 on a HP laptop.
A couple of other notes about what I noticed...
1. In the import screen the thumbnails display the preview.
2. Once the import goes to the Library Mode - thumbnails are blank. Can only see the image number and any symbols indicating tags or changes to the image.
3. Loupe view I cannot get an image to appear.
4. In the Develop Mode if I click on a thumbnail down in the filmstrip (which are all blank) an image will appear in the work area and the filmstrip thumbnail will display a preview of the one I selected. The thumbnail preview will remain visible for a few moments after moving to a new image. Then it just goes blank again.
5. I was importing jpegs and dngs. Having the same problem with both of these today.
6. All the other thumbnails in folders that were in the catalog prior to today are visible and working normally.
I am wondering how to fix this problem of newly imported images not displaying an image in the thumbnail whether it is in Library Mode, Loupe View, or Develop mode.

I'd delete the preview cache and rebuild - that may help (or it may not).
To do so, exit Lightroom, then delete .lrdata folder alongside .lrcat file.
PS - delete entire .lrdata folder, but do NOT delete .lrcat file or anything else.
(if it has 'Smart Previews' in the filename, don't delete it - just delete the other one).
Then, re-open Lightroom and rebuild previews using Library - Previews menu (optional, but probably worthwhile).
If no better, then you have an system/app problem as opposed to a preview-data problem.

Camera raw adjustments not showing in prints

I received a call from a technician with a professional processor about an issue I am having with prints that are much darker than what I see on my calibrated screen. The technician was wondering why I would send files that looked exactly like the original files. So he decided to open the files in Adobe Camera Raw and discovered that there were a number of changes in Camera Raw, i.e. brightness, exposure, etc. that were not showing up in the prints, or upon initial inspection of the file! I've been dealing with this issue of dark prints for a couple of years now and I don't know what else to do! The adjustments made to exposure or brightness levels are mostly very subtle in nature because I like to get it right in camera as opposed to major adjustments in Photoshop, but the reason I purchased Photoshop to begin with is to have a tool that will help present my vision as opposed to getting in my way!

Unless you Open an image in the Camera Raw panel (dialog box) by using the OPEN button in ACR after making your adjustments, the adjustments WILL NOT BE applied to the pixels, they will be just stored only in metadata. That's what happens when you use the "Done" button in the the Camera Raw panel (dialog box). That does you no good, especially since your lab will be using a non-Adobe application that cannot read the adjustments embedded in your file. When you do that and then proceed to use the Image Processor to batch process your files and save them for the lab, you end up with files the pixels of which have not been touched, despite being saved by the Image Processor.
Let's for a moment forget about batch processing and let's concentrate on what needs to be done to a single individual image:
First, you need to use ACR to perform your adjustments on the image. When finished, you need to click on the "Open" button in the ACR panel (dialog box). <—— THIS is the step that actually applies your adjustments to the pixels. Then the image will be opened by Photoshop and kept in RAM only until you actually save it in Photoshop, before using the Image Processor on that file. You now have a saved file to the pixels of which your adjustments have been directly applied. ONLY THEN can you use the Image Processor on that and other files similarly saved already.
If you run the Image Processor on files with adjustments embedded in metadata as opposed to adjustments applied to the pixels themselves, only Adobe software such as ACR, Bridge and Photoshop can detect the embedded adjustments, but non-Adobe software (like the one used by your lab to print, e.g a RIP) will not be aware of the existence of the embedded adjustments. That's why the lab staff can see the adjustments when they use Adobe software (ACR) to view the images.
It's a combination of the missing step of Opening and Saving the image files in ACR before using the Image Processor and the lab using non-Adobe software that is generating image files with embedded adjustments in metadata which are being ignored by the printing application used by the lab.
If you disagree with any of the above, I would hope that you take the time to explain exactly what you're doing, rather than resort to throwing tantrums and insulting people who are only trying to help you.

3gp thumbnails not showing in elements 10 - organizer

Hi, I have elements photo and video. I imported videos. was told to download and install quicktime. I did. but the 3gp videos preview (thumbnail) is not showing a picture. the files are all there, and I can see the name of the video. i can even play it, edit it, etc. But, no thumbnail preview as I see for my other format video files.
what to do ? can you help a guy out?

Thanks! I'll try it. But doesn't that import images from all files and folders on the drive being searched? How might I selectively import image files, i.e., from specific folders? I tried your suggestion, and it seems to work, however, one folder contains 119 JPEG images, and no matter what I've tried, shows only 13 images in the organizer. What might I try to correct the problem? Thanks!

Don't use folder view that way. Just got to File>Get Photos>From Files and Folders to import your images.

Project thumbnails not showing properly

While nearing completion of my project I published the iMovie file to the Media Browser so I could access in GarageBand and work on the soundtrack. When I returned to iMovie to edit it further I noticed none of the thumbnails were showing. The project seemed intact. I rolled over each clip and everything worked as it should.
I began to edit the project and was prompted that I would have to re-publish the project again. This is as it should be. However, once I began editing the clips again all the thumbnails changed from blank to the image of the photo I just imported from iPhoto. All of them changed.
Is there anyway to reset the cache or something like this in iMovie 09? Something that will allow me to see the proper thumbnails. Although I can continue to work on the project, not knowing where my edits are makes it difficult.

Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches with some graphic cards/drivers.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Does that make any difference?
