Raw update needed but not possible

Lightroom 5 keeps complaining that I need to update Pshop's raw app to 8.3.
In Photoshop CC, the Update menu results in "everything is up to date" -- even though Raw 8.2 is there.
-- I tried the super-secret Raw update installer. It resulted in an "illegal operation" type message.
-- I deinstalled and reinstalled Pshop CC. It installed Raw 8.2!
-- FWIW, Premiere Pro is also outdated but CC app also says it's up to date.
-- Isn't Creative Cloud supposed to replace Adobe Application Manager? Why does the CC app and AAM take turns popping up to offer (erroneous) information?
Surely there is a way to tell the Creative Cloud to reset my application list.
I have spent hours trying to resolve this over the past few weeks.
If you tell me to de-install and reinstall the entire Creative Cloud, I'll request a $100 credit. I have already lost at least a day of production trying to troubleshoot this.

A reinstall of CC Desktop does not rebuild the inventory folder. That is the issue. An uninstall and reinstall does appear to rebuild the Photoshop part of the inventory, but Camera Raw has is a separate component as far as the inventory is concerned. There is no Camera Raw uninstaller that I have been able to turn up. If the Camera Raw data in the inventory folder is for the wrong version or is not there at all, the Camera Raw installer will not run. That is what makes it unrecoverable. It took me all of 7 months to get past the India based support (who really don't have the training to even understand the problem) to somebody who did. A couple of weeks with him did not really resolve the issue either, but now I at least know what the issue is. We will see tomorrow when the 14.2.1 update is release whether or not the reinstall of Photoshop actually resolved the problem I was having with that ifailing to update too. I've reinstalled the CC Desktop Application at least a dozen times, and Photoshop CC at least 4 times, but tech when I contacted tech support on the failure of Camera Raw to update, they always had me delete the whole inventory flder, which kills pretty much any updates. It's a really ugly situation. I'm told that the day before I actually got through to an American support person, the notice went out to India to stop deleting the Inventory folder. The real solution is a simple check that inventory matches reality, but as of now Adobe doesn't do that. If there was a Camera Raw uninstaller that could be made to work (if there is one in the installer, it craps out before the uninstall option is available). Without the uninstaller, there is no way to get the installer to run, which mens that the only way to install the updated Camera Raw plugin is by drag & drop from the installer package or from another installation. This does not update the inventory folder, so the next time an update is available for Camera Raw, CC Desktop will not see it. If it doesn't see what it is looking for, it announces that everything is up to date and offers no install option. It's sloppy programing for sure. Why it hasn't been fixed already is beyond me. Hopefully it will be in the near future. But as of now, if there is a way to do it, nobody at Adobe seems to know what it is. As I noted I have an experiment planned for the next Camera Raw update, which as far as I know isn't tomorrow. At the moment I am medium sure that Photoshop will update properly tomorrow but even that is an unproven assumption at this point. You will almost certainly think this makes no sense, and no one could agree more than I do, but that is the situation as it stands. As for time wasted, I have spent many full days working with tech support at verious levels getting told to do exactly the things which will make it worse, or letting them take control of my computer and do the make it worse thing themselves. At one point they even had me uninstall the CC Desktio app WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND IT ACTUALLY DID REMOVE THE FILES WHILE LEAVING IT RUNNING IN MEMORY!!!! The resulting crash caused a huge amount of corruption on my HD which took another full day to recover from. Adobe promise me credit for time lost due to failure to update, but so far I haven't seen a dime. A happy camper I ain't, but there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Ok this is very strange. Third Gen iPad running iOS 6.0, the iOS App Store has started showing updates are available in its icon (its up to 11 now) and when I go to the App Store and pick the 'updates' tab, there are no updates, The "update all" button does not even un-grey out.
My work around seems to be to scroll around the 'purchased apps' tab and try to spot the ones which say 'update' instead of 'open'

I only have one apple ID, but I had tried rebooting.
Eventually after going through the 'purchased apps' tab several times and manually updating I have managed to get to a point where they are showing up again on the 'updates' screen. The last two updates which I hadn't yet found were there. As an engineer this suggests that one of the apps that needed updating was causing the code that created the list of updatable apps not to display. Haven't been able to find anything logged about it however.

There is a program that addresses this issue. It's called System Update Readiness Tool. Please select the correct version.
The original specs for that computer was Vista 32 bit.

In BW on hana, there's a 3.x flow DSO where it loaded a request from PSA.
It failed due to activation error SID Generation. But unfortunately, due to PSA Deletion process chain, it's PSA Request got deleted.
Now, we couldn't delete the red request(failed request) from the 3.x flow DSO.
If we try to delete, it shows job has been completed successfully with the following message:

I went to the table RSICCONT and checked the mentioned request. But I couldn't find delete option enabled. Even our basis team doesn't have authorization to delete the mentioned request from the standard table RSICCONT.

Hi Antony,
Once you have deleted the data in PSA there is no way to reconstruct the request hence you can do below things to correct it
1) Identify the No of Records which having error , because if you have more records it will take more time as in debug mode we have option to edit only one record at one.
2) Display only one record in Active table and change it using the Debug option ( not recommended ), but as you are in corner we need to use this
3) change the records with respective values and active the request again

The error indicates that there is an issue with the *_back RFC destination
itself.
Have you done an authorisation check within SM59?
Utilities > Authorisation check?
You can also do so by testing the connection in SDCCN.
Goto > Taskspecific settings > RFC destination > Backdestination
This problem is often caused by the user in the RFC connection
being locked in the Solution Manager.
Make sure the RFC user account is a communication user so the password does not expire. Sometimes the password expires and the RFC user locks the account as the old expired password is provided too many times.
The message also indicated "No active master Solution Manager destination maintained"
Please make sure the relevent Solution Manager system has been marked as Master in SDCCN Goto > Taskspecific settings > RFC destination >
These are things you will want to check.
I hope this information helps you resolve this problem.

Raw updates needed for CS5 and Elements 11?

I have several adobe products. I want to install the latest raw updates for CS5 Photoshop and Elements 11. The app. manager tells me I have the latest updates. My CS6 product updated the newest raw product but not my others. I would like to get phone support for these issues - is there a phone number that connects to real people? The %^*()^ support section on the web takes me around in circles - very frustrating. Any help out there?

the good old argument is at what point do you stop supporting stuff? Elements is now up to 13.
I assume Adobe would argue you have cc already why are you still using cs5?
As I read it, the new 8.7 raw is only good for cs6 and above. They won't make 2 versions of raw, so I assume you are still on 7.4 for cs5?
On that basis, alas stick with your cs6 to do the newer stuff you need.

Problem with smart Playlist after Upadte to 10.6 - PLEASE UPDATE SOON, Backup not possible

Is it so difficult to let things, that are quite good, just there where they are??
After updating my iTunes, OS Lion and some other stuff 2 days ago, I have now a big problem with a smart Playlist in iTunes 10.6. Before updating all things was right.
The problem: Now, AFTER UPDATE, my Playlist ist totally empty!
Before they were over 2000 songs in it.
And because this is my major-smart-Playlist, which is established to my whole other Smart-Playlists, the other ones are also empty.
And this is not the first time Apple.
It´s good, if you - apple guys - just added something like new categories to sort of music (like "iCloud-Status" or some others).
BUT WHAT DID YOU THINK, WHEN YOU DELETED THE OPTION "VALUATION" - mh??? (I hope in english this is the word that used in Itunes - my iTunes is in German)
So I don´t mean the "lines" - I don´t know the right english word - when you see the music. There you can fade in "Album-Valuation" - new - AND "Valuation" - old.
But I mean in the options of the smart-playlists - THERE ARE ONLY "Album-Valuation"!!!!! What the heck....
EVERYONE NEEDS THE NORMAL Song-"Valuation" - and not the album (because normaly you decide by each track how good he is and not by the whole album).
You can let the Album ones in it, BUT PLEASE BRING THE NORMAL ONE BACK.
So, in my case, I tried to go back to iTunes 10.5.3 with my nice Time-Machine-Backup. So, but I couldn´t because there came a bug-message that said something like "It is not possible because OSX need the Programm".
What is that?
I also couldn´t delete the iTunes app from my app-folder.
So, and now?
I had to totally restore my volume !
What is that for a solution?!
So please think before you delete any functions, who is needed by many people.
And if you did, maybe ask some users, that uses for example smart-playlists alot, if there is a problem about some changes, you want to add.
I hope anyone from Apple read this and also answer me. Because I´m upset about that.
In every iTunes-Update I am concerned about what will be after the update.
For example in the past, there was more than one changes in iTunes with the Valuation. First, there was just whole stars to set for every song. Than, after a long time, Apple decided to give the options for also half stars. So I said to myself - hey that´s great, that I don´t have to use external apps anymore to set these. So I did this to many of my songs (and that´s many).
Than - after an Update - wow, all half stars rating are gone ! Great Apple, really great.
I was VERY upset.
So after an other update, the opportunity to give half stars are back.
I thought, my god, it is so difficult to talk with other guys, that worked before on iTunes if I am new or just to look if there was already a change in that part of the app???
So, apple guys, please don´t think that I want to attack you. But please be more carefull in the future. I hope that I don´t have to worry too much about so stuff. I really have better things to do with my time.

Mac App store and Final Cut Pro X can a single Apple account purchase 3 separate copies of Final Cut X? Also how do we allow our editors to update FCPX, but not have access to the credit card?

I work for a medium sized compand 400+ people. We have a 3 person video crew. How does our company start an Apple account that will allow us to purchase three separate copies of Final Cut Pro X, but not allow us access Credit Card info, but still allows us to update purchased software? Surely Apple cators to small businesses needing multiple lisences. I appreciate any feedback, thanks!

I would assume that since your company has a video department, it probably also has an IT department. Have them set up the needed account(s) and download from the App Store for you.
You should also contact Apple about a mulit-seat licensing arrangement, but those usually involve 25 seats or more.
Apple doesn't really cater to small businesses ... or any business group in particular. They primarily cater to the consumer market.

Acr opens raw in bridge but not in photoshop cs5

When opening a raw (RAF ) file in bridge everything works fine ,when I want to open the file, ps cs5 opens the file, no problem.
But when opening the same file in ps, acr comes up and when I click open image, I get the message " could not comlete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)".
When opening acr in bridge and then: open image, ps works fine.
I just upgraded my mobo ,memory and processor ( i7-2600k .8Mb). Still running windows xp 32bit with intel hd 3000 video ,dual monitor. Never had this problem before with less memory and pentium 4.
Very strange. Any ideas?

What type of RAW files are we talking about, NEF,CR2 or other?
Bridge is just a flle browser, and RAW files are opened and edited in Adobe Camera Raw. Do you just get a thumbnail, but it willl not open in ACR?
Does ACR work with other RAW images that have not been corrupted.
Do you have a backup (highly recommended) of these images somewhere? Should be on seperate physical drive or on a DVD.

Got my Nano recently (my first iPod).
I have the latest iTunes (5.0.1) and have the latest Nano firmware (1.0).
I have found when connecting my Nano it updates fine. If I then go to update again (right click and select update) it tries but then I always get the message:
"The disk can not be read from or written to"
If I maually disconnect the Nano and re-connect it it again syncs fine the first time but not the second.
This is both an annoyance and a major problem as if I wish to change the iPod properties - i.e. add a photo dir or change my podcast settings - it looses these changes when I disconnect. The only way around this that I have found is to quickly make the properties changes whilst it is still updating - then it keeps them.
I have reset and restored the Nano, tried different hubbed and non-hubbed USB ports, re-installed iTunes. Nothing works.
Has anyone else had this - can you help?

You might want to enabling Disk use to see if this acts as a workaround in the short-term. Typically Disk Use requires you to manually eject the iPod prior to disconnecting it from the computer. Perhaps this will keep the connection live for you.
My Shuffle has a very similar behavior since applying the lastest firmware update (iPod Update 2005-09-23).
My hope is that another update is coming soon that will correct the problem.

Updating software but not syncing

If I upgrade my software to 3.0 a week from now, but not from my own computer, will I lose all my music and such. I'm asking because I won't be near my personal computer for a while but would like to have 3.0 on my phone to have the various benefits. Is it posible to do the upgrade without syncing the music files?

I would wait until you have access to your own computer in case something goes wrong.

Bei neuen Geräten ergibt die Anfrage 3, wobei es folgende Modi gibt:
0 – Die alte Sleep-Variante, in der das RAM über Akku oder Netzadapter mit Strom versorgt wird.
1 – Hier wird das RAM auf die Festplatte gesichert und der Laptop heruntergefahren.
3 – Der Standard-Modus neuerer Laptops vereint Modus 0 und zur Sicherheit Modus 1.
5 – Dieser funktioniert wie Modus 1, aber ist für sicheres virtuelles RAM gedacht, welches in den
Sicherheitseinstellungen aktiviert werden kann.
7 – Dieser funktioniert wie Modus 3, ist aber ebenfalls für sicheres virtuelles RAM gedacht.
Mit folgerndem Befehl,
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode x
ändert man den Modus. (x steht hierbei für eine obigen Zahlen.)
Falls mit Deep Sleep Probleme mit dem normalen Hibernate (Standby) auftreten kann dies durch
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 3
wiederhergestellt werden.

All new drives need to be partitioned GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled before they can be used.
OK, is that an option I'll be prompted to by the OS or do I have to "tell" that to...Disk Utilities (?)
If cloning is your purpose then use Disk Utility's Restore option. It will clone the drives and their Recovery HD partitions automatically.
I didn't know that Disk Utility had an option for cloning a bootable drive...is it better than CCC? (I have used neither one) I really would like to save $40 and avoid downloading additional software/applications...please if you don't mind...what option would that be once I click on "Disk Utility"? If you know of a good link or reliable article on the topic that will work for me too.
Test a clone be trying to boot the computer from it.
Any bootable drive in any bay can be used to boot the computer. Use Startup Drive preferences to set the desired boot volume.

But if the computer fails to start because I didn't create a good copy, how do I go back? Keyboard shortcuts? I keep reading that a wired keyboard must be used...and that's scary. If that's true, could I hook up any of my Windows based keyboards via USB?
Erase the drive and install OS X. You cannot use any software installed by the prior owner that was purchased via the App Store including OS X. You must start from scratch. (this actually is 5B rather than item 6.)
Well, he created an Admin account for me and I have been handling updates and everything with the new password he created for me. I wonder if I could access the Apple Store with my ID though...it's all under my name in that computer though, so I figure that at the Apple Store I'd just enter my ID...I guess, I have not tried that yet
