RAW upload issues

See my comments made on iTunes when reviewing the app...
The iOS version and the Mac version are now very out of sync. The new features all seem to be getting added to the iOS version including RAW support and video support. The Mac version does not support these features. I found some comments on the forums that suggest that it’s possible to upload RAW files via adoberevel.com but I could not get this to work. It takes the time to upload my Canon .cr2 files and then at the end, it says it skipped all of them (annoying). My issue is that I bought a 16GB iPad Mini because I intended to store all of my files in the cloud. Currently my only option is to upload the RAW files from my iPad which is a two step process. First I need to import them using the Apple SD card reader and then I need to add them to Revel. This requires space for both functions and so I can only upload them in small batches. It would have been nice to do this via the adoberevel.com website so that I can do it all at once. I guess this will make be buy a newer iPad with more storage.

Hi Pattie,
Thank you for the quick reply. My issue was that I attempted to upload a batch of images that were raw format to adoberevel.com and they were reported as incompatible jpg files. I managed to get them uploaded but had to do them in small batches via my iPad as it did not have enough space to hold them all at once. Kind of a pain but eventually I got them all uploaded. I am not sure why the website didn't like the cr2 files. I have uploaded other cr2 files from the website and it worked fine with them.

  • Uploading issues to other providers than .mac

    has anyone had uploading issues to other providers than .mac??

    can the names of the pages have spaces in them, or do
    i have to change both the file name and the name of
    the page?
    As the note says, some servers will let you upload files with spaces in their names, and some will not. Names without spaces will always work.
    In iWeb, the name you give to a site or page is the same as the name of the folder or file associated with it. So to avoid spaces in folder or file names, you need to omit them in the site and page names, or replace by hyphen or underscore.

  • LR 4/4.1RC and flickr uploading issues - resolved?

    Have the uploading issues between LR 4/4.1RC and flickr been resolved?  Waiting on upgrading from LR3, but the forum reports from unhappy flickr users wanting to "downgrade' are making me nervous.  Should I wait, just upgrade to 4.0 and leave the RC alone for now?

    An update ...
    I have discovered that RC2 publishing does seem to be working (for me) but Flickr or LR seems to be objecting ("Invalid at the top level of the document") to specific images possibly relating to the contents of the caption field.
    I narrowed down the failure to just one image ... removed its caption... it published, I put the caption back on - "Invalid ..." error came back.
    FYI and not sure if relevant - I sometimes put http links in my caption fields.
    I would have come back with a more comprehensive test, but it now appears that LR will not communicate with Flickr at all, now saying it cannot contact the Flickr service, so I cannot investigate further yet.
    I know a little off the wall here ... but is it conceivable that Flickr itself has locked me out due to "erroneous" or suspicious content?     I have never had problems with LR talking to Flickr before today and publishing to SmugMug is still working fine.

  • Raw file upload issue

    Suddenly Bridge has stopped uploading RAW (.NEF) files from my Nikon D80. I only get the .jpgs. I can't figure out why. I'm running Photoshop CS3 with the 8.1 converter and Bridge CS3...
    Anyione have an idea???

    I am working from the camera, which had worked previously, as I have no card reader.
    I have many hundreds of gigabytes free...I am able to copy the .NEF files off the camera via the Windows copy utility...it just seems as if Bridge suddenly doesn't recognize the .NEFs...
    Bizarre!

  • Has anyone solved their LR4 / Nikon D800 RAW NEF issues?

    I've done a lot of reading on this topic and think I have a handle on how easily the new D800 NEF files can be corrupted by the older versions of Nikon Transfer.
    When I began using the camera I accidently made the mistake of corrupting them and haven't had any issues since... until yesterday.
    I photographed last night, and imported about 160 RAW NEF files onto my brand new Macbook Pro with Retina for a same day preview for the host.  I transfered the images using ViewNX2 & by association it's built-in Nikon Transfer 2 utility. I used the built in SD Card reader on the Macbook which has always worked in the past.  But alas!!!!!  While they imported fine, LR4 can't import them and gives me the error "Preview Unavailable at this Time".  I should note... Nikon Transfer 2 was set to clear the card after the transfer .
    Nikon ViewNX2 can see the images and I'd hoped to fix the issue by just converting them to JPEG's but, no bueno. It tells me it can't.  This is the precise issue I can into when I accidently used the original version months ago on my iMac.  But it's impossible that I have the old version on this unit.  It's less than a month old and I'd downloaded the most recent version from Nikon.  So I'm running under the assumption that the file is somehow corrupted.
    I've seen a lot of people running into issues getting used to the new workflow requied to deal with these enormous RAW's.
    Here's the all important question. After the files have an issue... is there anyway to recover them???  I can't retake them, the original shots were wiped from the card. So what do I do?  At least Nikon View can see them, so I have to believe that there is some image information there.
    Has anyone sucessfully fixed the issue?
    Going forward I plan to just import everything directly through LR4, so I think that'll aliviate future heartburn... but what's my "undo" solution?
    I know there's a lot that's been written on this topic and really appriciate the support!

    What Bob Frost just posted (after fixing the hidden http// part of the URL) worked for the image you uploaded, so try that:
    http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/fix_corrupted_nef.html
    BTW, I answered 14 to the bit-depth-12-or-14 question the utility asked, and it worked ok on the example corrupted NEF.
    Below is what I was typing up and testing before posting, and works to extract the embedded JPG Preview, but does not actually fix the corrupted NEFs, which is a better solution.  I am including it, below, for reference in case someone without corrupted NEFs also wants to extract JPGs from their raw files.  It uses the same tool from Phil Harvey without his customizations to work specifically with corrupted NEFs.
    == Original Message ==
    The raw data in the NEF you uploaded appears corrupted or otherwise unusable because when viewing in Windows Explorer using the latest Nikon NEF Codec that supports the D800, all I see is a small thumbnail then black with a few parts of color, however for that one file, at least, the embedded JPG preview is intact, and 7360 x 4912 in size, enough to see the camera-shake blur.
    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9905000/JBR_20120910_175757.jpg
    I’m on a PC and you’re on a Mac but the same tool is available - exiftool a command-line program you run in terminal (on a Mac) or in a Command Prompt window on a PC:
    http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
    If what you download includes a (-k) then remove it by renaming before attempting to run the command, below.  On Windows I would rename exiftool(-k).exe to exiftool.exe without the (–k) part.  The (-k) tells exiftool to display the exif information by default if you drag-and-drop to it.  While this is normally useful, for the purpose of extracting JPGs from NEFs this might be confusing so I’m suggesting to rename the executable before using it.
    Here is the command-line to extract the fullsize JPG from the NEFs and then copy the metadata tags from the NEF to the newly written JPG:
    .\exiftool -b -JpgFromRaw -w %d%f_%ue.jpg -execute -tagsfromfile @ -srcfile %d%f_%ue.jpg -overwrite_original -common_args --ext jpg .
    The above command assumes both the exiftool executable and all the NEFs are in the current folder.  The current folder is designated by a single period both at the very beginning and the very end of the command-line.  If exiftool is in a different folder, then supply that path instead of the initial period, and if the NEFs are in a different folder, substitute that folder-name for the final period.  The final period has a space separating it from the preceding –ext jpg.
    It is also assumed that only NEFs and the executable are in the current folder.  If there are other files, they may confuse things so you might want to move things to a temporary working folder, and I’d suggest working with a copy of the NEFs just in case something goes haywire, you’re not overwriting the originals, corrupt as they may be.
    For reference, the above command-line was simplified from a more complex example that didn’t quite work with your file, one that conditionally extracts either the full-size JPG or the tiny JPG-thumbnail.  The example is the last one in the Copying Examples section, here:
    http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/exiftool_pod.html#copying_examples

  • Server upload issues

    Ok guys & Gals,
    Ive been fighting this upload to the server issue for almost 4 days and I’m almost ready to drop kick the project into the trash. Which would hurt as the whole project is a month old. My website address is www.christianmichaelphotography.com and my site was built by me in flash catalyst.
    On completion I uploaded to godaddys web server and changed the “main” html file to index.html and sat back in anticipation. Site lock down. It took almost 5 full minutes for the site to load. Once it did load it ran. But I don’t like waiting for a site to load so why should I expect my customers to wait?
    Over the last 4 days I have reduced file sizes……stripped my video roll in page. My animated opening banner and sound effects. Now..its just a raw static page with zero sound, video or motion. Still…..its taking way way way to long to load.
    Any suggestions would truly truly be appreciated.

    Hi Martin
    Thanks for the info. You obviously know what you are doing. Very nice work. You obviously used some kind of flash that’s working better then the site I built. I kinda begrudge buying more software after buying Adobe creative suite CS5 at full price…. I’m sure you understand lol.
    I may start to rebuild the site page by page and upload page by page to test and see where the problems lie. That way I don’t get a sexy flash site to run local if it wont load on the web. I can find the error before I get too deep…..AGAIN!!!
    Thanks for the info

  • Multiple cffile upload issues

    Hello all. I'm having a little issue with a multiple upload I
    am trying to achieve. I've been searching and searching but could
    not find an answer, and maybe you guys could help me. Well I'm
    doing multiple uploads on a form i created and it's uploading the
    file and file name correctly, but it's inserting 6 records
    everytime I'm hitting the submit button. Also, I've notice in my
    database is when you click the submit button, it's inserting the
    same file in one record 6 times, then it creates a new record and
    inserts the second file 6 times. I'm going to post the code here,
    maybe it's something I'm missing, not sure. Thanks for the help.

    of course it will do everything 6 times since you have your
    whole code
    wrapped with cfloop from 1 to 6... so the code execution will
    happen 6
    times... plus your synatx for inserting filenames inside your
    query
    makes it insert same file 6 times (since the code is inside
    one same
    cfloop)...
    you should separate your code and wrap only the cffile part
    in a cfloop:
    <cfif isDefined("form.upload")>
    <cfloop index="i" from="1" to="6">
    <cfif len(trim(form.pic#i#)) gt 0>
    <cffile action="upload"
    destination="D:\Hosting\streetzmag\dev\crush_images\"
    filefield="pic#i#"
    nameconflict="makeunique"
    result="uploadedpic_#i#"
    accept="image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/gif" >
    </cfif>

  • APEX 3.1.2 Static File Upload Issues

    We are still running on APEX 3.1.2 though we hope to go to 4 very soon.
    We had a production problem this past week that is perplexing. I have seen other posts referencing similar issues but no solutions.
    We have an application that has several Static File Javascripts (.js). We already ran into the IE Upload bug so we only upload in Mozilla now.
    We had changes to one of the .js files (identity.js). I deleted the old file using the Shared Components screen and uploaded the new one. The action was "Successful" but the file was still the old version. We deleted a file of 73 lines of code and uploaded a new version of 28 lines. After successful upload, we still would get the 73 line version . The app was still getting that version too.
    I deleted it many times and tried again. I ran scripts to do both the delete and upload. I even deleted the file manually from the FLOWS_FILES table that held it. Still got the old version.
    We bounced the server (thinking it was cached somewhere) - still got the old version. Finally, in desperation, I started cloning the app to another app number in another Workspace. Since we use aliases, I thought I could use a clean Workspace and uplad the new file there. This worked but - suddenly the old Workspace started using the correct file.
    Is ther some secret cache somewhere that needs to be cleared out? I did not want to start randomly clearing out caches and there is no documentation on this issue.
    Is it something about our config - we have Oracle HTTP Server, OC4J, and modplsql for this environment with a 10g database.
    Any insight would be appreciated - my manager does not like "it fixed itself magically".

    We ruled out the browser caching by trying the app on several other people's PCs.
    I am thinking it is being cached somewhere in the APEX server environment but cannot find any documentation on where or what that might be.
    I think I might have triggered a refresh when I was trying to implement a cloned version (in a different Workspace). It seems that the scope of a JS file is within its Workspace so we figured that a new Workspace would treat the changed file as a new file - and it did. During this process, we had duplicate ALIAS for a minute and I think that confused the APEX App Engine and triggered the refresh.
    But that is a SWAG opinion.
    I also thought of "versioning" the JS files but our developers are not too keen. If we don't find another solution, that may be what we have to do.

  • File Upload issue in MVC

    Hi,
    For my MVC application, I have created a main controller.
    On the DO_REQUEST of the main controller, I am setting the sub controllers, and directly calling that controller using create_controller, controller_set_active, and call_controller.
    I included dispatch_input( ) in the Main controller's DO_REQUEST method.
    Inside the DO_REQUEST  of the sub controller, I am creating a view using create_view and call_view methods.
    In this view, I have a <htmlb:tableView /> and a <htmlb:fileUpload />, with a button. The issue is that, when the button is clicked, in the DO_HANDLE_EVENT method of the sub-controller, I am not getting the File Data, or the table data.
    For File upload, I use the following -
    data lv_fupld_data TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_fileupload.
    lv_fupld_data ?= cl_htmlb_manager=>get_data(
                          request = runtime->server->request
                          name    = 'fileupload'
                          id      = 'fupld_1').
    I have the <htmlb:form method       = "post"
                      encodingType = "multipart/form-data" > etc in the view.
    When I call this sub-controller directly from the browser (after including the dispatch_input( ) part in DO_REQUEST), I do not get any issue. I am able to read the file data and upload the file.
    Any Idea why this is happening?

    Hi Rakesh,
    I think I got your problem:
    You only have the htmlb:form in your view of the subcontroller, and not in the main view.
    Therefore the subcontroller works by itself, but not within the main controller.
    If you are including subcontrollers, then make sure the form element is only present in the view of the main controller, wrapping around any subcontroller calls. And don't use the form tag anymore in the subcontrollers.
    Just as you put dispatch_input() just in your top controller, also place htmlb:form only in your top view.
    Regards,
    Max

  • Camera raw processing issue

    Downloaded photos taken with Canon 5D mk III to ZoomBrowser and Adobe Bridge using Scandisk reader. Photos will not open in photshop CS6 camera raw. Photos taken with Canon 7D will open fine. Is issue with camera or PS CS6?

    The 5DmkIII needs at least Camera Raw version 7.1. CS6 comes with Camera Raw 7.0. Have you ever updated Camera Raw?
    If you're not using an ancient operating system, you can update to the latest version, 8.6, which still works with CS6:

  • Camera RAW update issue with Bridge CS6

    Hi folks,
    I recently installed a routine update for Camera RAW 8.4 and now have a bunch of issues with Bridge including -
    - No previews or ratings showing
    - Ratings filter not working
    - Can't open images directly into Camera RAW without first opening Photoshop (ie - keyboard shortcut not working and File menu command "Open in Camera raw" not available)
    - Can't access or open Camera RAW preferences
    I've tried resetting Bridge to default settings but didn't help and ACR still works fine opening in PS. I've attached two screenshots to show the problem better.
    Anyone else having these problems? Any solutions?

    This should fix it: Camera Raw 8.4 | No metadata or Camera Raw edit

  • File upload - issue with European .csv file format

    All,
    when uploading the .csv file for "Due List for Planned Receipts" in the File Transfer Upload center I receive an error.  It appears that it is due to the european .csv file format that is delimited by semicolon rather than comma. The only way I could solve this issue is to change Regional and Language options to English. However, I don't think this is a great solution as I can't ask all our suppliers to change their settings.  Has anyone come across this issue and another way of solving it?
    Thank you!
    Have a good day,
    Johanna

    Igor thank you for your suggestion.
    I found this SAP note:
    +If you download a file, and the formatting of the CSV file is faulty, it is possible that your column separator does not match the standard settings of the SAP system. In the standard SAP system, the separator is ,.
    To ensure that the formatting is correct, set your global default for column separation in your system, so that it matches that of the SAP system you are using.+
    To do that Microsoft suggests to change the "List separator" in the Regional and Language Options Customize view. Though like you suggest that does not seem to do the trick. Am I missing something?
    However, if I change the whole setting from say German to English (UK) the .csv files are comma delimited and can be easily uploaded.  Was hoping there would be another way of solving this without need for custom development.

  • Canon S100 RAW color issues

    Hello, all. I created a thread with this similar issue a few months ago but never really got it resolved. Instead of reviving an old thread, I decided to just recreate it with updated information.
    I have the new Canon S100 and I am having an issue with how the RAW files appear in Lightroom.
    I import the photos into a Lightroom catalog and they all look fine within the importer window (which shows essentially what a JPEG would look like), but when I click on the photo in Library or Develop, once the photo finishes loading, the red saturation goes through the roof.
    Any photo that already had a little bit of warmth to it exploded with red.
    Whereas any photo taken in normal light gains a little more warmth and exposure.
    Here are a couple examples of the JPEG preview (also how it looks in-camera) compared with what the RAW looks like once it's been loaded in Lightroom. (The above or left photo is the “normal” version, the bottom/2nd image is the RAW)
    It’s sort of difficult to tell with some of the photos by looking at them side-by-side. I also have the individual photos if you want to A/B them to see the changes that are actually occurring.
    There are no presets being applied upon import.
    The only solution I've found is to convert them all into JPEGs using Canon's software (which does not alter the images as seen above), and edit them in Lightroom as JPEGs, but that completely eliminates the point of buying a camera that is capable of shooting in RAW.
    I’ve been having this issue since the S100 first came out (when I purchased it) with Lightroom 3.6RC and was told that it would be fixed in Lightroom 3.6… which it wasn’t… nor was it fixed in Lightroom 4.
    I decided to just go ahead and convert all my photos to JPEGs until I found a fix to this so I could at least have my photos (I had photos from my anniversary with my girlfriend in November that I couldn’t do anything with so I was sick of waiting).
    I figured I’d wait till more people had the camera, expecting this issue to be more widespread… but now that a lot of people have the S100, I’ve looked around and found no other instances of this happening… so I’m worried it’s something on my end.
    I have a 2008 13” MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.3 and I have the latest version of Lightroom (4.0) and Camera Raw (7.0) installed. I’ve tried the photos in Photoshop CS5 and it does the same thing. When this first happened back in December I tried the photos in Aperture as well and it did the same thing.
    The only software that seems to recognize the true color of the photos is Canon’s horrible “professional editing” software.
    Thanks in advance.

    I recently bought an S100 and encountered the same problem. With Camera Standard in Lightroom, Reds are too bright, greens are shifted towards yellow, and some yellows are shifted towards orange.
    I have been using Lightroom since the beta, with different cameras from different manufacturers. The camera profiles for the S100 are the worst I have experienced by far. The profiles, particularly all of the profiles that start with "Camera," do not fit this camera. I believe somebody made a mistake. It could have been someone at Canon, it could have been someone at Adobe. I don't expect this mistake to be fixed, or even acknowledged.
    Moving on, here is my workaround:
    Start with the Powershot S110 Camera Standard profile.
    Use dcpTool to decompile the profile.
    Open the decompiled profile in a text editor.
    At the top, change the name to S110 Standard.
    At the bottom, set the baseline exposure offset to zero.
    At the bottom, change the model restriction from S110 to S100
    Use dcpTool to compile the modified profile. Give the resulting .dcp file a different name than the original.
    Put the new .dcp file in the appropriate directory, open Lightroom and apply the S110 Standard profile to your S100 images.
    dcpTool is here:
    http://dcptool.sourceforge.net/Introduction.html
    This hacked S110 profile gets rid of the blazing reds. It does have some problems with yellows and greens. I solve this in Lightroom by using +20 in Camera Calibration: Green Primary: Hue. I haven't had my camera very long, and I may end up making other adjustments in Lightroom. But using the Powershot S110 Camera Standard profile seems like the best place to start.
    I tried using Adobe's DNG Profile Editor app on the S110 "Camera" profiles, but did not get good results. From what others have posted on Adobe's forums, this is to be expected. A lot of the "Camera" profiles are too complicated for DNG Profile Editor to work well on. Both the S100 and S110 Camera Standard profiles have over 23,000 lines of code when decompiled!
    I also tried dcpTool (and DNG Profile Editor) with some of the other S series and G series profiles, without finding anything that works better than the S110 Camera Standard profile.
