Razer DeathAdder right click, scroll wheel disabled

I bought a Razer DeathAdder Black Edition around a week ago. It comes with Mac drivers which I installed, however I installed ControllerMate and SteerMouse as well, in order to remap buttons and fix the acceleration and polling issues with high-res mice in OS X. Everything was working correctly until yesterday, when I enabled the included DeathAdder controller in ControllerMate.
Now right-clicking is disabled, and the scroll wheel does not function the way it used to. Whereas once the scroll wheel controlled the scroll bar, now it also scrolls and selects content within any Finder or browser window; the only way I can scroll up or down is to place the cursor over the scroll bar while I scroll. I have tried unplugging the mouse, restarting, and uninstalling the Razer drivers, ControllerMate and SteerMouse, to no avail. When I reinstall the Razer drivers and try to program the mouse buttons, the changes I make have no effect. It's as though something is overriding the drivers. The problem is, can't figure out what's doing it.

I don't know if this will work, but try uninstalling everything, then manually go into Library folder to see if anything is left behind.  Delete anything you see related to Razer, Controller Mate, and Steermouse.
Library->Application Support
Library->Preferences  For example, ControllerMate has a "com.orderedbytes.ControllerMate.plist" file.
Library->PreferencePanes
Library->LaunchAgents For example, delete ControllerMateHelper if it's there.

  • MOUSE Loses Power When SCROLL WHEEL is used, power back up when CLICK SCROLL WHEEL. FRUSTRATING.

Whenever I scroll using the scroll wheel with this Belkin USB MOUSE my mouse loses POWER and becomes unresponsive.  It only regains power when the SCROLL WHEEL IS CLICKED.  It works perfectly on other hardware so I know that it's this TOSHIBA LAPTOP or an UPDATE thatis the PROBLEM.   I do NOT use the touchpad because they are inferior to mice when working with graphics.  Is there some kind of conflict here?  How do I PERMANENTLY disable the touchpad--it's completely and utterly useless to me compared to a mouse and just makes me angry and I really want to be able to use the scroll wheel on the MOUSE without it turning on and off and on and off and on and off.  This is a very recent issue that hasn't plagued me until recently maybe within a week or two. Note when this happens it flips between the synaptics touchpad and the mouse for CURRENT SELECTED INPUT DEVICE, regardless of WHETHER OR NOT I have it set to disable touchpad when usb device is plugged in, so I don't need to try that step. Thanks!

I haven't heard of the scroll wheel issue anywhere else (mine is fine), but the blank picture issue is known.
Myself and many others have experienced it, definitely a software bug.

  • Turn off double-click scroll wheel/middle button mini navigation window?

So I've found a couple posts without working solutions....
I use AutoCAD all day, so using the scroll wheel button to pan documents is pretty common for me.
If I accidentally double-click the scroll wheel, the mini-page navigation window appears, and the only way to disable it (that i know of) is to click the tiny "x" each time.....
QUITE ANNOYING as I am in Reader all day, constantly scrolling through documents to reference things.
Anyway to permanently disable the mini page navigation window?

oh, sorry. i realized i had posted the other one in the 5th generation iPod forum.

As far as i know i have not damaged the pad in anyway! im wondering if this is a software problem or not?

  • Lately when I try to right click it opens a new tab with recent searchs.I have to go back to the tab and right click again to get the options. How do i fix it?

When I try to right click now instead of getting the menu it goes into a new tab showing recent searches.I have to go back and right click again to get the menu and do what I wanted in the first place. Is there a way to fix this. This is really irritating.I like firefox but I'm ready to go back to Chrome. Thanks for any help.

You're right-clicking a link? I can't think of any setting that opens a blank tab when you right-click in a page. It's also strange that it would occur on the first click but not on the second click.
    Does this affect all sites?
Are you expecting Firefox's context menu or the site's context menu?
One thing that comes to mind is overriding the site's own right-click handler by disabling scripts from capturing the right click. This is set under
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
To the right of "Enable JavaScript" is a button to access "Advanced" options. If it's checked, uncheck the box for "Disable or replace context menus".

  • Mouse Right- Click not working

yes, I firstly checked that the secondary button is set as right click. I disabled it and restarted the computer, but is not working, any ideas?

It may be LaunchServices. These are only cache files but can get corrupted. Launch /Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this at the command line to rebuild LaunchServices: (Edit: be sure to copy the entire command the text box is a slider)
    Code:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
Then press return. Wait until terminal returns to the command line. Quit Terminal. After that, log out and back in or restart. Let us know

  • Lion broke scroll wheel Razer DeathAdder

After upgrading to Lion my Razer DeathAdder mouse can't scroll using the mouse wheel. I'm hoping that Razer will release an updated driver, but in the mean time does anyone have any work arounds? Anyone else seeing the same problem? Note: this isn't about the new "backwards" scrolling in Lion. It doesn't scroll at all in any direction on any page or application.
My only work around so far is to set the scroll directions to be Macros, scroll up = Up Arrow, scroll down = Down arrow. It just works ok but it is certainly not ideal. It doesn't work right in a good many scenarios.

I forgot to reply to this thread; I figured out what my problem was. In the Driver Application, beneath the button selection, there's an Advanced Mousewheel Options which I hadn't noticed and assumed was just a graphic.  The scroll wheel was set by default to left click when I scrolled up, and right click when I scrolled down.
In response to HimynameisJoe, in case you misunderstand how it works, here is what you do to program the buttons:
    1. Select the button from the main window area (1 -- 5)
    2. A dropdown menu appears on that button's selection area.
    3. Select whatever setting as which you want it to operate, for example, Primary Click, Secondary Click, Pass-through, Advanced Buttons, Button Off.
    4. If you want to use the 3rd, 4th and 5th as extra buttons for different apps, for example, for FPS games or WoW, then select Pass-through.  This worked for me easily with Snow Leopard, however, I've yet to have it work in Lion.
    5. If you want to use a button for a single key such as F5 or the Fn key, or you want to set a key as a macro, select Advanced Functions.  This will open the pane which I suspect you're having trouble accessing.
For anyone who's having trouble with the new reversed scrolling and has both a mouse and a trackpad, (such as use of a MacBook) then I have worked out a nice compromise:
    1. Enable the reversed scrolling which allows the iOS-like trackpad scrolling which will make the trackpad really intuitive to use.
    2. Go to the Driver settings for the Deathadder and change the Advanced Mousewheel Options.  Change the the upward scroll motion to Scroll Down and the downward scroll option to Scroll Up.

  • How can I disable right/left mouse buttons and scroll wheel in PDF?

    Hi all,
I want the user to have to click on "forward" and "back" buttons that I've created in the PDF, in order to move around in it. Is there any way to disable the mouse buttons and scroll wheel from allowing users to go back and forth?
Also, a separate question: I want the user to click on embedded images and receive either a pop-up comment, or be re-directed to another page in the PDF. Is there any way to set this up?
    Thanks for your time!

You can achieve what you want in Question 1, just not via scripting.  You would need to create a plug-in in C/C++ that would be installed on the client machine.  Other than that option, try67 is correct - there is no way to achieve this from the document-level.

  • Why can't I right click or click with my scroll wheel on Top Sites in Safari 8?

Why can't I right click or click with my scroll wheel on Top Sites in Safari 8 to open the selected website in new windows?  I was able to do that in the last version of Safari before upgrading to Yosemite and Safari 8.

Having to hold down the command key obviates the ease of use where I used to just click with my scroll wheel to open several of the Top Sites in new tabs.

  • Custom Right-Click Options with Mighty Mouse (scroll-wheel)

Is there a way to add custom actions to the contextual right-click menu on the mighty mouse? Or a program that will allow me to do that? I am looking to add a script or other items to the right-click menu options.

this has nothing to do with the kind of mouse you are using. you can add items to the right-click menu by creating a service. you can make your own using automator.
also, some applications install services when you install the applications and there are a number of built in services available. you can check system preferences->keyboard->keyboard shortcuts->services and activate the ones you want.

  • Clicking the scroll wheel does not open a new firefox window

I'm running Windows 7 x64 SP1. I use the scroll wheel to click items in the task bar to open another instance of those items. Eg I scroll-click a Firefox or Excel or Explorer or whatever item in the taskbar, and it opens another instance of that program. I use this feature to open a new instance of FireFox rather than switching to the FF window, then using control-n to open a new window.
I just upgraded to FireFox 6 from FF4.x. Since doing so, scroll-clicking the FF item in the taskbar does not open a new FF window. It does, well, nothing.
I installed FF6 on a clean Win7 x86 (RTM) build in a VM. When I use the scroll-click feature in the taskbar, it works as expected: it opens a new FF window.
Things I have tried: A different mouse; updating video drivers (I doubted this would make a difference, but it needed to be done anyway, so I thought I'd mention it); running FF in safe mode (ie with all plugins etc disabled).
I'm doing a little experimentation right now with respect to x86/x64, RTM/SP1, clean FF6/upgrade from 4.x and other differences that might highlight why it works as expected in my VM but not on my physical machine.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced this problem since upgrading to FF6.

Respectfully, that answer isn't particularly helpful. I have already demonstrated that middle-clicking (mouse wheel click) will open a new instance of FF, and other programs. This was true before the upgrade from FF4 to FF6, and is true on all my VM builds (Windows 7 default install with nothing but FF installed).
Nevertheless, I've tried shift-left-click, and it does not open a new instance. It will only open a new instance if I pin FF to the taskbar, which I have already stated I do not want to do. This new behaviour is unique to FF. Other applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, whatever) all behave as expected. It is only Firefox that is misbehaving, and it is only misbehaving since the upgrade.
My issue is that FF has changed its behaviour with respect to middle-clicking since upgrading from 4 to 6. I'd welcome helpful comments about getting FF to behave.

  • Viewing a video (YouTube, etc.) disables the mouse scroll wheel - switch to Opera and scroll on a page, return to FF and wheel is reenabled.

After viewing a video (usually YouTube, but not exclusively; either directly, or embedded in a web page), the mouse scroll wheel will become disabled. If I then switch over to Opera and use the scroll wheel on any open page, the scroll wheel will be re-enabled upon return to FireFox.

    Important questions:
What ActiveX control are you using?
I'm using the PDF activex control to display a PDF on the front panel of my VI.
What version of LabVIEW are you using?
     I'm using LabVIEW 7.1
What "control pages" are you talking about?
The pages of the PDF: it has several pages. If a mouse is held over it the user can scroll using the scroll wheel, or if they right click they can access the Adobe menu.
It's these that I'd like to inhibit them doing.
    Thanks
    Andy

  • The menu bar goes transparent after 50-60 seconds and my mouse scroll wheel and keyboard wont work unless I click somewhere on the screen

I hope someone can help. I'm using Firefox 31.0.1
The menu bar at the top of the screen is a white transparent color and everything is working fine but after 50 or 60 seconds it changes to completely transparent, I can still read the words file, edit etc. This is where the scroll wheel on the mouse and anything I am typing stops working. Now all I have to do is click somewhere in the window and it works again but only for 50-60 seconds. I have had to click the screen twice since I started typing this because when I look at the screen, everything I have typed is not there because the menu bar went transparent again while I was typing. Its driving me nuts.
I don't remember this being a problem before today, if it was I would surely have noticed. Have I pressed something or clicked on something by accident??
I'm considering throwing the lot out the window, its really annoying, please help lads and ladies.

    Hello,
According to your user agent, you are on Firefox 32. If you planned to use Firefox 31 ESR, you can grab a copy here:
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
Out of curiosity, when it turns transparent, is there a "(Not Responding)" appended to the end of the window title? If you don't have the Window title being shown, it might show up if you have window titles shown on your taskbar, or in the task manager (right click on your taskbar and select "Start Task Manager"). If you do see a Not Responding, it could be a slow script on one of the pages you are viewing.
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
