Razr battery issues phone getting hot!

I did the most recent update for my phone and now I am having battery issues.  I can fully charge my phone and by the end of the day the battery will be dead.  Also I have noticed it is very warm to the touch.  I don't use it much so it is not an issue of usage.  This is the second Razr I have had the first one took a crap and would shut down whenever I powered it on.  At this point I am not really impressed.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I know how important it is to get the most out of your battery life bigback5! The latest update should actually improve your battery life.
It sounds like you may have apps that are conflicting with the new software. I recommend running the device in safe mode for a full day to test. I have also included some great battery saving tips as well!

my iphone 4S gets discharged in few hours - started doing this 2 days back
    I downloaded ios6 about 2 weeks back
    Phone getting hot too
battery drains even without using the phone- and phone becomes hot
have tried turning it completely off and restarting it but still battery draining problem persists
    please guide

I final piece for me in the jigsaw following on from this
    http://www.care4pcs.co.uk/2012/10/how-to-be-happy-gmail-user-on-iphone-or.html
is to turn off wifi when you do not need it. When I leave the house I turn off wifi, because the majority of the times when my iPhone has got very hot and crashed is when I am away from home. I suspect that if the iPhone is in the vicinity of public wifi (wheather secure or not secure) it will try and connect, even if you have 'automatically join known networks' set to off. This is easy of course if you have an unlimited data contract for your iPhone. I may be wrong, but it is working for me. It makes sense for me because it is another way of reducing the work the processor (and battery) has to do and therefore reduces the chance of overheating.
Having said that, I never had this problem with my iPhone 4. I now have a 4S.
Try it. Hope it works for you.

  • Why does my phone get hot at time's?

It doesn't happen every day, put there are times my phone gets hot even when I'm not using it then the battery drains fast and I have to charge it again.  It's not the battery area that gets hot.

There is no damage to my phone. This is the second Samsung Galaxy S5 that I have received.  The first one did the same thing, then went dead.  I only charge my phone at night when I go to bed and unplug it in the morning.  When it does get hot, for some unknown reason, I have to charge it again during the day just to have cell phone access.  It doesn't happen on a daily basis.  It's just concerning as to why the Samsung Galaxy S5 is doing this.  Teffanie M Stark

Is there any damage to the device? How long have you had the phone? Which phone do you own? Do you keep the phone on the charger at all times when its not being used?

  • I plug my 4S into a transmitter to listen through my car speakers. The phone gets hot, is this normal?

I used a radio transmitter connected to my 4S to listen to music through my car speakers, but the phone gets hot.  Is this  normal?

Yes it is. It is usual for your phone to get hot (not to the point where it burns, but noticably warmer) whenever it's charging, playing music, or using an app that takes a lot of power (like navigation). Especially in a car, where the ambient temperature can get pretty hot.
As long as it doesn't hurt to hold your phone or the phone doesn't give you a temperature warning then it's normal.

my 4s phone getting hot in sim tray side so i need a solution?

They are free at Corporate Verizon stores; retailers usually charge for them.  You also can call Customer Service and have them send you one.
And you don't need a SIM card to activate an iPhone 4S on VzW's network.

  • Droid RAZR battery issues

I am having major battery issues now with my Razr. Let me explain some of the things I've observed.
Number 1. When discharging it might drop to 99-98-97-80-40-39-38-20-4% as I witnessed today, right before my eyes while using it in a matter of a few minutes, and it gets hot too. When charging, it will charge up normally to around 30%, then jumps to 100 and says charged.
Number 2. This seems to be a much bigger problem when using 4G. I just recently got 4G here, and ever since then, my phone is always a little warm and just eats the battery. I'd noticed this before, when traveling from here when it was still just 3G, to a 4G area. It is such a problem that when I went to Florida this past summer, I had to stop at the verizon store for them to check it out, because it was dying way more rapid than I was used to, always being on 3G at home.
My phone is so bad now, that I dropped it from 100 to 4% in around an hour yesterday, and about 50+ minutes of that was idle and screen off. Then again later, I was using it to check the weather and it again went from 80+% to 15%, and quickly dropped to 9% in a matter of moments.
I have changed nothing about it that would cause this level of drain. Location and everything else is off. I checked to see what is using the battery the second time it happened, and is says it is mostly screen and android OS.

My daughter has had the exact same problem.  It worked fine since end of July when we got it as her regular two year upgrade plan until about a month ago.  She hasn't added any new apps and hasn't changed her phone behavior.  She does all the right things with turning off wifi and I've done the cache partition wipe twice and it sill does it. It gets so hot that the phone actually exhibits a warning message that it needs to shut down.  And it happens almost daily now. I've checked what's been using battery and Google Services seems to be the main culprit--with Google Play services and Location services using almost as much battery as the screen.  I've also uninstalled updates to Google Play services, rebooted and installed updates again and the overheating/battery drain still continues.  I am planning on taking her phone to Verizon and asking for a replacement.
I've scoured the internet for answers and not sure what to do.  Hoping it's a phone issue. It seems ridiculous to have to turn off all the connectivity and functionality of a smartphone just to be able to have it work properly.

  • 4S battery life and getting hot

    Hi
I am aware that there have been in the past battery issues/heat issues with iPhone 4S and iOS 6.
Device is ~2 years old. Brand new/unlocked from Apple. Under Apple Care warranty until October I believe. I bought it off a friend who upgraded to iPhone 5.
Recently the device has begun to have battery life issues and it gets warm whilst I am using it. When I stop using it and put it down, whilst it's locked etc it will eventually start to cool down. It's not so hot that I can't handle it but I can feel the heat through a plastic hardshell case and it obviously feels much hotter if I handle the phone when it's not in a case.
Couple of notable recent issues were last night I had 25% and then I opened the Facebook app and all of a sudden got the "Less than 20%" warning notification and it had dropped straight from 25% to 17% and today I've had the phone on for about 2 hours and it's already down from 100% to 58%
    iOS version: 6.1.3
    What I have done...
    - Tried charging to 100% and then turning off data network and WiFi, then turning off the phone and disconnecting the charger and turning it on after about a minute or 2.
    - Reset all settings.
    - Charge to 100%/Backup/Erase all contents and settings and then set the phone up from scratch again.
    What's on:
    - Data network ...but I frequently turn this off/on because it cripples battery life so much for me now.
    - iCloud sync but only for notes and contacts.
    - 2 mail accounts
    What's off:
    - Safari (disabled in Restrictions)
    - Location Services/GPS (also disabled the ability to change whether LS is on/off in Restrictions)
    - Bluetooth
    - Push notifications for most apps
    - Push email. I have this set to fetch, manually.
    What's sometimes used:
    - Siri
    - WiFi (remains Off when not in use)
Apps: I leave Facebook and Facebook Messenger logged out when I'm not using them. Push notifications are off for everything except Instagram and Snapchat but I use those very infrequently.
Anybody able to shed light on this or is it just that the phone is nearing the end of its life-cycle now at ~2 years and it needs to be replaced? I'm contemplating trying to find a 4 on iOS 5 and never updating it - I don't like 6. I really hope 7 is more gentle with batteries.

Did you transfer the backup for your 3GS to your iPhone 4S?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
If no change after a reset and you transferred the backup for your 3GS to your 4S, try restoring your 4S with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from a backup to see if this makes any difference.

  • Phone gets hot when listening to music with Walkman app

during the last days I have recognized that my Xperia Z3 Compact gets very warm (almost hot) when I am listening to music using the Sony Walkman app.
I had this issue also with the Xperia Z1 Compact earlier and had to factory reset it to fix it.
I only face this when I listen to music. do anyone else also have this issue?

All phones get warmer when using high cpu use apps but if the phones gets to warm then like a Pc etc it will give a warning and auto shut down to protect itself - However if you think it's to hot and you are concerned then I'd advise that you either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care to have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

I got iStat, it says the workload is always at ~3. A reboot doesn't help. Hopefully this bug should have been invenstigated by an apple engineer.

There was a problem with a CalDAV server. It always trying connecting to it. Then dataaccessd crashed. And connected again and crashed, and so one....  After deleting the account and readded (with the same informations) the iPhone's running normal again.

  • White iPhone 4S 16GB battery life and getting hot

About 2 months ago I got a White iPhone 4S 16GB and it was working fine until I got back from Spain. The battery life now seems to be draining very quickly like for instants today It was fully charged at 7:30 and by 10:45 it was on around 30% battery life. I had only been listening to music for about an hour or so and read a few emails. I always close apps when they arent in use and the only ones that were open at the time were the messages and iPod. I'm assuming this isnt normal. I have also noticed that my phone has been getting very hot when on charge and sometimes during general use.
Has anybody got any ideas of what the problem is?
Could it be a hardware issue?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • 6280, Getting HOT and Battery Indicator

    Hi,
I've discusssed this 'HOT' thing before but the only answer i got was to go 12KM for a Nokia Service Centre.
Basically after i play a few games and take pictures and make a 40 minute call the phone gets hot, The keypad feels like it's going to blow up into my face!
And Before anyone suggests a NSC Or taking it back to my nearest 3 store(500 yards away) Is this completly normal for this phone to get hot when using it?
    And the next question!
The battery Indicator, After i tiny tiny bit of use it currently says battery full, but it says on the 3 network website, 'Manufactures recommend you turn your phone off and on regularly for maximum performance' or what ever it says, Before i turn the phone off the battery is full right? but when i put off then put on when it comes to the homescreen it goes to 1 bar, this is ridiculos and annoying.
Why can't it show low in the first place? i mean really this is stupid i don't know when to charge the Phone!
    Thanks!

Don't tell me you haven't heard about the 3UK branded 6280 that went up in smoke recently...
The extra heat is usually due to the fact it's being used on a 3G/UTMS network as it requires more power than using a GSM network.
As you can't lock your handset to GSM (yet another reason I'll never use 3UK), there is not much you can do about it.
The battery indicator problem is common to most Nokia's I've seen.
First use the search to see if your question has already been answered...

  • Why does the battery get hot when I'm running a lot of apps?

The battery seems to get hot whenever I'm using more than like 4 apps. Is this normal? The iPod Touch is brand new as I just got it yesterday at the apple store. What seems to be causing this problem and the battery seems to be draining quick.

Depending on the Apps being used, some required much more output/work from your iPod's hardware, which in turn could bump up its overall temperature.  If it seems a little above the norm, I would suggest taking it into your local Apple store to see what they say.
