In November I replaced my vehicle with one which has integrated bluetooth phone within the stereo system (2010 model Landrover). My previous Nokia N95 work perfectly with it and was so much clearer than the previous car kit.
However, since upgrading? to the iphone on Orange (late November) when in the vehicle the connection between phone and car kit is lost way too often and the radio screen says "no network".
I spoke to Landrover who say it's not their problem (probably right as the N95 worked fine).
Any ideas would be welcome

  • Iphone with Parrot 3200 LS Hands Free Car kit:  photos for contacts?

    Hello,
Is anyone else using the Parrot 3200 LS hands free car kit with your iphone? I have one, and so for it's been great, but I can't figure out how to get the photos associated with my contacts to transfer to the contacts in the Parrot unit. It synced the contacts no problem, just no photos with them. Has anyone been able to get their photos to come up on the parrot unit? How?
    Thanks,
    Dana

I have had the 3200 LS for 3 months. I havn't seen the photos transfer. Either my Parrot or my iphone does not work right. They will work showing my address book for two or three days then they will not pair for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm in one of those not pairing periods now. The grey symbol is lit. Under bluetooth it shows that they are paired but they don't work. Anyone got any ideas? I'll try working on the photos the next time it decides to work.

  • Nokia hands free car kit & 6310i

when i bought my ford st170,i had a hands free car kit fitted, after selling it i bought a new ford transit connect but not before removing it to fit it to the van.The hands free has a red wire, yellow wire and black wire plus two wires for the speakers, having looked at the wiring for the van,the colour code is totally different.
    Can anyone HELP me,
    thanks,
    martin....

If you are not quite sure where all the wires go in your vehicle then you should'nt attempt to install this kit, modern vehicles have very complex wiring systems on them and you can do damage which could cost you a lot of money. I have been installing car kits for 16 years and can put you intouch with a engineer near you if needed.

  • Sync contacts to bluethooth hands free car kit

iphone 3 - Can anyone tell me how i can sync contacts to bluethooth hands free car kit. i have paired the device gone into the device on iphone and the Sync Contacts is turned on, but what do i do from here thanks

"iPhone 3" - do you mean the iPhone 3G or 3GS? Which iOS version?
Does your hands-free device support the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)? If not (many don't), you can't sync your contacts. If it does, you need to refer to the device manual for instructions.

    I have just aquired a Nokia 6300
I have a Cark 91 hands free car cradle and would like to know what conversion kits are available to enable me to use the phone with the existing kit
    Can you advise?

nothing will convert this kit to work with a 6300 phone, its blueooth connection only unless you buy a THB Bury kit.

  • 6300 Hands Free Car Kit

According to the data on the above phone's product technical specification page, when you use the compare facility on this website, it says that the Nokia Wireless Plug-in Car Handsfree HF-33W is recommended. However, if you look at the compatible products for the car kit the 6300 is not on the list. Can anyone advise which car kit will work with this phone?

Yes, the compatibility lists are not always perfect. The Nokia 6300 has Bluetooth Handsfree profile, so if you are looking for a good handsfree kit I recommend the Nokia CK-7W, that works with no problems and should be the most simple and cost effective solution.

  • Hans free car kit for my Nokia 6310i

I have a Nokai hands free car kit (Model number PCH-4J) which I can’t fit to my car as there are 2 abbreviations on the wirering plan I don’t understand, can any one tell what they mean? Blue Ignition, Red 12V, Black to earth, Green to AMC? & Yellow to CRM? Thanks. Caine Ashford.

    Hi moby61
Blue wire > +12 volt switched by ignition
Green wire (CRM)for motor antenna gives +12volts when phone is on
Yellow wire (CRM)car radio mute goes down to 0volts during a call
    Black wire > negative
Red wire > +12 volts from battery

  • Hands-Free Car Options using AUX connection

Looking at hands-free car options for my wife's iPhone 4s. She has a Honda Civic with AUX jack to the stereo system.
So far, tested two locally available systems:
Belkin AirCast Bluetooth - connecting via Aux jack:
    http://store.apple.com/ca/product/H2652VC/A/belkin-aircast-bluetooth-in-car-adap ter
She liked the sound quality through the car stereo, and the option to playback music also, but found the BT control finicky and prone to disconnection/unpairing (guess you need to practice) More particularly, she doesn't like the fact that the stereo need to be set to AUX mode to hear a call coming through. She had the notion that one can be listening to the radio or a CD and the system will automatically interrupt when a call comes in. I explained that whether BT or wired, all of these AUX input systems (to my knowledge) have that limitation.
So I looked at a separate phone speaker option:
    Monster Mobile AirTalk Bluetooth Car:
    http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=6037
I was quite impressed. Simple to use. BT connection very stable and easily re-established when getting in the car. Fairly good sound quality with adequate volume, considering the size of the speaker (just a little background hiss), but she finds it too tinny.
So, back to the car stereo speaker option. Are there any hands free sets (BT or wired) that will automatically switch to AUX mode, or otherwise allow a received or made call to be heard through the car speakers when it is in another (CD, Radio AM/FM) mode? Or else is there some sort of auto-switching AUX adapter that can be used?
    Cheers.

I think I see why the first link 'HD Accessories' pulled their link.
The Lux does not seem to work with the iPhone 3G even though the first link said it was compatible.
The second link now seems to have removed the iPhone 3G from the list.
I would guess this has to do with the charging pin from the now obsolete firewire pin for charging.
Looking forward to see what you find Wheelman....

  • Built-in Hands Free/Stereo Kit for Car?

I am sick of cheap solutions for iPod/iPhone integration for my car. I have had MANY car-adapter solutions for my iPods (and now iPhone) over the years. One of my favorites is a simple cassette adapter. But now I am on my fourth one (the wires fray or they quit working for other reasons) and even they have hit a $15-20 minimum (in-store) with no charging option. I have also had several brands of FM transmitters (anywhere from $50-125) that have either broken or had terrible quality, even after finding an optimal station. I don't mind spending a little money, most built-in options I have seen are in the $80-$120 range, but I want something that lasts more than a few months and works well.
I have not had an iPhone for very long, but appreciate the hands free use with my cassette adapter. I can be listening to music, then when/if a call comes, it pauses, switches to the call and then when the call is over, seamlessly resumes play! This is exactly how it should be.
I am looking for a built-in solution for my car, that incorporates this feature and charges my phone. Is it possible to do this via dock connector? or is it only through the headphone/mic port? Ideally, I would like to dock my iPhone to a cable or cradle that uses the auxiliary input on my factory radio, an external WIRED mic would be my preference, but I would entertain other options. I had a kit for an old samsung phone, granted it didn't play music. Wireless seems to be suffering in quality and dependability. Also, in this case there is no need for a wireless solution. The "kit" would remain in my car, not to be moved. Only the phone is portable.
I have tried to find an answer to this via google, but so far not really what I am looking for. I have found bluetooth car kits, that handle the handsfree phone portion. Also I have found wired kits that allow you to connect a iPod/iPhone to the aux-in (cd changer typically) to your stereo via dock connector and an adapter of sorts. This WOULD allow me to use CD changer controls to skip tracks etc, but has no apparent support for incoming calls. I am essentially looking for a modified version of this. One that would also include an external wired mic that connect to the dock connector end of things.
I have a 1998 chevy blazer (old, I know). My wife has a 2003 Acura TL (no navi). I would be happy with a built-in solution for either. Does anyone know of any such product? Anyone else with similar frustrations? Thanks.

OK, in Australia, the best options I have found so far are:
    Powere cradle - http://www.holdmyphone.net/select-your-device.html?ddlBrands=Ford&ddlModels=Terr itory-04_09&ddlsubaccessories=0&ddlaccessories=0&hselect=Phone&hselect2=Apple&hs elect3=iPhone-3G
BT carkit with Stereo integration - http://www.ow.com.au/shop/Car-Kits-Bluetooth/Parrot-CK3000-Evolution-Advanced-Bl uetooth-Car-Kit
These are very simple to use and I havent had any issues after 12 months usage.
Parrott have quite a few advanced products which are very good.

  • IPhone 3Gs no longer connects to my Blue Tooth hands free cars

Within the last week, there appears to be a software update to my iPhone 3Gs. Since that time, my phone can no longer be paired with the hands free blue tooth options in both of my vehicles. The first vehicle is a 2010 Lincoln MKX with Sync and my other vehicle is a 2010 Volvo C30. Have other people experienced this? I have updated the connection between the phone and both vehicles. If I cannot get this fixed it looks like my iPhone is useless as a phone with blue tooth.

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

  • E90 and Hands Free Car Installation

I have a problem, my car an Alfa 156 is fitted with a Nokia hands free set and this works perfectly with my old 9320i phone through the POP port.
My new phone is an E90 Communicator and I wish to update my car kit to match. The E90 does not have a POP port and I believe relies on using a Bluetooth connection whan used in this context, I also want the cradle to be an active one to keep the phone charged.
The problem is that the control box fitted to my car is an HFU-4 unit and this unit does not support bluetooth.
With all of the cabling already installed and working for the antenna, microphone, connection to the car radio etc I want to take advantage of this and change the control unit to a HFU-5 unit which I believe does have blootooth built in, and change the existing cradle as well.
    Is this modification possible?
Where can the parts be obtained?
What should I be asking for?
    Thjanks for your help, Mark.

    Hi msandilands
Presumably you have a CARK-126 fitted in your Alfa Romeo. The connections are the same on the HFU-5 (CK-7W) but you will need the CU-7 control button to adjust volume and answer the calls. You will also need to connect the blue wire on cable set PCU-4 to 12v +ve ignition sense to turn unit on/off.
Unfortunately you might need to use a Brodit holder for the cradle solution.
