RBO: still usable in Oracle11g ?

Hello,
is the RBO (rule based optimizer) still usable in Oracle11g ?
In all documentations there is only a hint that it is deprecated and
unsupported. But does this mean, that it doesn't work as in previous
releases and is now treated as a normal optimizer comment ?
Greetings

Hi,
You can still use Oracle Developer (Forms/Reports) 10g with R12.

Is the original iPhone still usable in any way?

It's a longshot, but what is worth trying is this:
On a computer, use iTunes to download an app.
Once done, on the iPhone, attempt to download the same app. If an older/compatible version is available, you should be prompted to download it.
I wouldn't even try that with apps that cost money unless you have another device to use them on already. But for free apps, it certainly won't hurt.
It is entirely up to the app developer to either leave older version(s) available or pull them so you'll most likely get mixed results and will probably find that many apps do not have older versions available.

  • Soundbooth CS4 - Audio Content still usable for commercial purposes?

    Dear all,
I know that Soundbooth is no longer (officially) supported, but I wanted to double check and make sure that the CS4 Soundbooth scores and sound effects (referred to as "Audio Content" in the "CS4_LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR SOUNDBOOTH AUDIO CONTENT" located at http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/CS4 _LICENSE%20AGREEMENT%20FOR%20SOUNDBOOTH%20AUDIO%20CONTENT.pdf) are still usable for commercial purposes.
In other words, I would like to make sure that I did not miss any communication from Adobe about terminating the license as mentioned (as a possibility) at article 2.7 (“Adobe may terminate this license by notifying you that your continued use of the Audio Content is prohibited”).
Could you confirm that the “Audio Content” is still usable for commercial purposes in old and new projects?
Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Is iDisk Backup still usable

I use Apple's "Backup" program under the iDisk.
Is it still usable now that Mobile Me is gone.
I have an external HD so it is not that important other then a 3rd B/U.
If I am in the wrong section please let me know where to ask the question
    Thank you
    Greg

Backup can no longer back up to the iDisk as MobileMe is closed. You can back up to a local disk, but if you want an online backup you will need to find a third-party service - this page examines some options:

  • Is my first generation iPad still usable with Airplay?

My first generation iPad worked with Airplay until a week ago. Now I no longer see the Airplay icon.  I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions with not luck.  Is my first generation iPad sill usable with Airplay?

hey diesel, my guess is that they put that there because just to cover their backs... the 1st Gen. iPad's OS can no longer be updated, so if they change something fundemental or added new features relating to AirPlay, it will not get updated on 1st Gen. iPads and AirPlay could cease to function or get new functionality.. so yes, it's no longer "supported", in that they are not going to insure that AirPlay is backwards compatible with any updates, but in spite of this lack of support, at this this time it continues to work... fingers crossed
added to this, AirPlay on the iOS on 1st gen. iPad is a bit flaky at times, doesn't support full screen mirroring etc.. so already it is out of whack with current AirPlay functionality... so AirPlay on these devices is already out of step with current implementation of AirPlay... but the basic functionality still works... uses it all the time.. I used it this morning...

  • Are 2002 Recovery CDs Still Usable

Will be giving my 2002 Windows XP 1410-S173 Satellite laptop to someone.   Would like to clean personal files and information from hard disc before doing this but still keep all programs working.  I have 3 recovery CDs that came with it when I bought it.  Can these still be used to clean the hard drive or have there been too many updates over the years of use for them to still work.  I tried to download and run Disk Wipe to accomplish cleaning my files off the XP computer but it would not run.  I am not 100% sure why but think it has something to do with trying to clean the c drive but the c drive has the system files on it so the Disk Wipe software won't work.  Not sure that is correct but if it is I don't know what to do about it.  Thought perhaps the recovery disks might accomplish the same thing.  Thanks for any help or other suggestions.  I use  IE browser most of the time and Firefox some of the time, if that matters.

They will still work just fine.  You'll just need to install a lot of Windows updates.  If you don't have a fast internet connection you might want to go to a local library to see if they have faster connection to download all of the windows updates which will probably be several hundred mb's in size.

  • Is Adobe Reader 10.1.3 still usable after install of Adobe XI ?

    Good Evening:
This Evening , I downloaded Adobe Reader XI (122.00 MB).
I just finished using it to print copies of my bank statement, succesfully, after a week of trying to resolve a no print
problem of same. I still have Adobe Reader 10.1.3 (117.00 MB) but can't remove it from my list of active programs as it
blocks removal. Is it still usefull now that I have Adobe reader XI ?
Thank You for Your earl;y reply to my question,
                              Respectfully,      Reg Wilkins.

    Hello Again:
I followed Your instructions to download and open Acrobat uninstall tool
and I reviewed the comprehensive removal information.
The removal info showed clearly that 10.1.3 was indeed  removed.
However when I returned to Add & Remove Programs, to verify if the 10.1.3
reader was gone, I found it was still there. I tried to remove it but again the
"Patch cannot be opened"  message popped up and I'm still plagued with
this 10.1.3 Reader which refuses to uninstall.
Is there another way this 10.1.3 Reader can be helped on it's way?
                            Respectfully, Reg. Wilkins

  • Is the basic phone upgrade loophole still usable?

I have a 3 line account, 2 smartphones with unlimited and one basic.  All three are out of contract.  I would like new smartphones but obviously want to keep unlimited.  Is it still possible to use the basic phone line to process the upgrades, then drop that line back to a basic phone and activate the smartphone on the unlimited line? This process would involve doing this twice and a transfer of one upgrade since I want 2 new smartphones.  Has anyone had success lately?

  • Wall charger from older 20 GB still usable?

Hello, I just bought my fifth-generation 30 GB iPod because my old 20 GB is dead. It, to my surprise, did not come with a wall charger, which I always liked because I am not always around my computer to charge the iPod. Can I still use the old charger on trips and things? I hope so! Thank you!

Yes, you can still use that charger
    Enjoy

  • Is old iPhone still usable as entertainment device after upgrading?

My wife and I both have iPhone 3G's that we're planning to upgrade to iPhone 4 units at the end of the month. Our kids are addicted to the devices as entertainment units.
After upgrading to iPhone 4, can we still use the 3G units just for playing games, etc? I.e. no phone service, just use it as a glorified iPod Touch? If so, anything special we need to know or do to prepare for the hand-off to the children?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    You're welcome.
Why would I take the SIM card out of the iPhone when I upgrade?
Not sure, but some people do thinking they have to.
The iPhone 4 uses a micro-SIM card, which is smaller than the SIM card used with your existing iPhone. The SIM card used with your existing iPhone can't be used with the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 will ship with a micro-SIM card pre-installed just as your existing iPhone shipped with a regular size SIM card pre-installed.
If your kids don't need internet access, you can leave Airplane mode enabled on the iPhones.
In case you decided to remove the SIM card for whatever reason is the reason why I included the part about having to have the no longer activated SIM card inserted in a no longer activated iPhone in order to install a firmware update when released, or to restore the iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed.

  • I have uninstalled Firefox through the add/remove section of the control panel, and it is no longer listed, but it is still on my computer. Both regular firefox and firefox portable are still usable on my computer, and the uninstalls for neither work.

I'm using firefox 3.6.11, and windows xp. I've manually searched the uninstall prompts in the firefox folder, but they do not work.
I need to uninstall firefox as it uses more of my memory, especially with the new plug-in bin container, and my little netbook just can't handle it. (Hence why I tried installing the portable version, but whenever I try to use it the main firefox starts up as well - even though I have uninstalled it).
    Thanks for any help!!

  • HT201250 old data transferred to new computer via time machine, is external hard drive still usable

I set up my new macbook from an old macbook via time machine and an external WD Harddrive.
The setup partitioned my macbook to two user id's, now I need to back up.
The old user id is backing up everything again and the new user id wants to create a new backup to my WD Harddrive like it is not used.
I don't believe that my WD was partitioned.
Help!  How can I continue using my WD and backup both user id information without losing anything?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. • Mac OS X still usable with windows installed?

Is it possible for you to use the Apple stuff on an imac like safari, photo booth, imovie, pages, etc. if you have microsoft office installed on the imac?

You may be under the impression that installing Windows replaces OSX. It does not. Once you install Windows using Bootcamp, you can select to boot into Windows or OSX. If you select to boot into OSX your computer will be no different than it was prior to installing Windows. If you select to boot into Windows your computer will behave as a Windows computer. So each time you turn on your computer you select whether you want to use OSX or Windows.

  • Is my 10  year old GCC Elite XL 20/1200 printer still usable?

    Hi:
My wife is a graphic designer, and loves her 10+ year old GCC Elite XL 20/1200 printer.  Full printer specs are at http://gccprinters.com/products/201200specs.html
In the last several months (since a model year 2006 iMac crashed, which was our lifeline to it because it ran an old enough version of OSX to talk to this printer) she has not been able to use it.
Anyone have any tips on how to print from a relatively modern iMac (model year 2010, 27" 3.2GHz machine running OSX 10.6.8) to this ancient printer?
In a perfect world, the old iMac would boot up, but that hasn't happened yet...
Please let me know if you need more details.
    Thanks!
    Kevin

    Help!!
Until Mavericks I printed from my macbook pro laptop to a HP1100c (parallel-port interface) internet connected on my old generic laptop running Ubuntu
Been doing this since Leopard and worked through OS updates since then without any problems. Now on Mavericks I get "Filter failed"
I can't remember exactly how it runs - I know at one point I was using Gutenberg and I have Gutenprint 5.2 installed in /usr/share and these libs
    /usr/lib/libgutenprint.1.1.1.dylib
    /usr/lib/libgutenprint.1.dylib
    /usr/lib/libgutenprint.2.0.3.dylib
    /usr/lib/libgutenprint.a
    /usr/lib/libgutenprint.la
    /usr/libexec/cups/driver/gutenprint.5.2
    /usr/libexec/cups/filter/rastertogutenprint.5.2
but I also have some guten stuff under macports. I long since stopped maintaining macports and it would be a major effort for me to delve into updating it.
Anyone point me in a good direction - like everyone I need a quick fix that doesn't involve delving into how to update macports (is it even running that subsystem - I don't know). Sure I can deal with these low level things but I have a life too - I just want it to work - understanding macports etc. again is dead time.
Come to that I lost track of how to configure printing on  the ubuntu half of this too.  It would help enormously if I knew where it was failing - what does "Filter failed" mean. It might mean some shell script somewhere failing - if so where, what subsystem ?
