  • Video Converter Cable - VGA to Composite Video (RCA and S-Video)

    Hi,
I have HP G60-125CA laptop (Windows Vista) and I am trying to transfer laptop image from laptop to TV (regular sony TV not HDTV) using Video Converter Cable - VGA to Composite Video (RCA and S-Video). But for some reason it's not happing.
    Please HELP.

I think you need an active converter for this, not just a cable. Try a web search.

  • Ipod touch video using RCA cable in car...

I have a Honda Pilot and it has the red, yellow and white hacks in back. I have the DVD player and would think i could connect IPT to RCA cables and see videos on DVD screen, but i cant figure it out. I connect and the music plays just fine (better than FM mod)... any advice?

You have to use offical Apple cables and Apple certified cables/docks to display video. You need this because of a chip that has been installed in the product that will allow video out through the dock connecter

  • Satellite P300-18M - VGA to S-Video / RCA cable - No Picture on TV

    Hi,
First of all, I am trying to use my other laptop (Dell Lattitude D630) I with my TV, however, this other laptop only has a VGA output.
So I bought a VGA to S-Video and RCA adapter from e-Bay: [Picture|http://members.lycos.co.uk/jtfearnley/Hosting/Images/RCA%20To%20S-Video%20RCA.jpg]
However, this does not work, the laptop in question does have "TV Out through VGA", so it should work according to various websites, and the seller....
However, I then tried to test it with my Satellite P300-18M, and it does not work with this either, I have tried both the composite (yellow port) and S-video port, in three different TV's, and there is no picture.
I have tried changing the settings in the ATI Catalyst Controll Centre, eg, forcing TV detection, and it detects the TV, however there is no picture on the TV, only grey lines.
If I cange the resoution and Refresh rate I can sort of get an image: [TV Picture|http://members.lycos.co.uk/jtfearnley/Hosting/Images/TV.jpg]
But this is the best thing.
In the past I have used all three television sets with my P300 using direct S-Video, so I do not understand why it will not work with this adapter.
Also, I know that this isn't a Dell forum, but I am not a member there, and this question is also concerning my Toshiba notebook, as it would be useful to be able to use the adapter for RCA instead of S-Video.
    Thanks

    Hi
From my knowledge the VGA port can be used only in connection with an external monitor/LCD but not with the TV.
The point is that the common PAL TV (not LCD or plasma) supports a max resolution of 720 X 576px at 50Hz (NTSC 720 X 480 at 60Hz).
As far as I know only the s-video port provides such resolution.
The VGA port provides higher resolutions which are supprted by most external monitors.
However, I never connected the notebook to TV via VGA port so I can provide only some assumptions.
Of course it could be possible that the VGA to S-Video and RCA adapter is not fully compatible.
I read on different pages that cheap no-name adapters dont work as it should.

  • How to connect my macbook pro to an older tv that has rca cable?

How to connect my macbook pro to an older tv thas has rca cables?

The yellow RCA jack is called "NTSC Analog Composite Video", or "Video" for short. You need an adapter to "Video".
Exactly which MacBook Pro (or which output Display Port) do you have?

  • How to output sound to RCA cables?

I give up! I can't for the life of me figure out how to output the sound from my Macbook to play on my stereo or TV which use RCA cable hook-ups.
I got the VID ADPT MINI-DVI TO VIDEO ADAPTER-GEN but that only adapts the video, not the sound. Do I have to get some kind of optical to analog adapter?

This would do the trick, although you can probably find something at Radio Shack for less.

I got an iPod kit with a power supply, extra dock, and a Monster Cable (yeah I think they're overhyped) mini jack to RCA connector.
There are a bunch of ways you can do this. If you've already got long enough RCA cables, these would do the trick:

Or if you have a short distance, maybe something like this (doesn't say how long it is):

There are more attractive versions of this type of adapter. Radio Shack shows at least a dozen from different companies.

  • Touch5 @ ios7 no longer works w/ Apple's Lightning-(nor 30 pin)-to-RCA-cable adapter BUT older ios5 Touch and ios7 ipads2

I'm a high school teacher and routinely project TED talk/podcast & other videos from my assorted Apple devices: Touch3 (ios 5), Touch5 (ios7) and iPads2&3 (ios7). I've successfully used Apple's 30pin-to-RCA, and 30pin-to-VGA, and 30-pin-to-Lightning-to-RCA cables/adapters. However, at ios7 upgrade to my Touch 5, projecting no longer works, at all, no sound, no video to projector. My 2 ipads (2 & 3 both at ios 7.0.2 continue to work fine as does my older Touch3 with ios 5.1.1. Prior to ios 7 upgrade to my Touch5, it also worked fine to my projector.
Please forward this info to Apple Education Tech Support folks for their eval and, hopefully, a specific fix to re-enable Touch5 usage of the Apple projector adapter cables. Thank you.

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Connect MBP to TV using RCA Cables

Hi. Is there a way I can connect my MacBook Pro to my older TV just using RCA?
Basically I have Red, Yellow and White open ports on my TV and wondered if there was a cable or a converter of some kind that I could connect my computer to and then connect that to the RCA cables.
    Thanks!
    Message was edited by: crystalfromshawnee

Those are actually composite inputs (the yellow is video, the red and white are stereo audio), not RGB. Depending on what model of MacBook Pro you have, this adapter might work:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9267G/A
If your MacBook Pro has a mini DisplayPort connector rather than DVI, then it's been reported that a mini DisplayPort adapter (available from Apple) and this converter:
    http://www.grandtec.com/products/video/untimateEZ.html
works, but I have no personal experience with it.
Either solution would require that you run the audio separately, from the headphone/speaker output of your MBP to the red and white inputs on your TV.

  • Screen says "use tv as display" have vga out and tv has rca or s-video in can I?

I have old ze4935wm laptop with XP
Quick button properties screen says "use tv as display"
It only has vga out and tv only has rca or s-video in.
    How can I do this?

    I solved that problem.
If your tv also has component imputs- the red/ble/green cables that look like ordinary rca cables-
as a matter of fact you can use the regular rca audio/video cables, I do.
Tiger direct has an item called.PC2Tv.
It has a box- (size of a deck of cards) connect the vga wire from the box to your computer,
connect the usb wire from the box to your computer.
Then run the rca cables from the box to your tv.
It comes w/ a remote, you can adjust contrast, color, sharp & brightness, etc.
It's powered by your pc/laptop and cost about $20.
I use one on my patio where the rear projection tv has an hdmi input, but it doesn't work for computers-
the tv's manual says that the hdmi input is just for dvd players.
I also use one in my garage, where I have a crt tv.
    Works perfect.

  • N8 RCA output, No Video!

    Hi!
I wanted to see some videos on my TV, so I tried to use a 3.5mm Jack - RCA cable I had at home.
I set the TV out option as default, left the default TV settings (Normal size, PAL code, and Unactive filter) and plugged the cable.
On a CRT TV I see a stream of blinking white stripes and no audio.
On a LCD TV I get the "no signal" message all the way, and audio works fine.
    Am I doing something wrong?
(The cable is not a Nokia cable, but as far as I know those cables are all the same, isn't it?)

Okay, it was my cable architecture that was kinda stupid, trying to play a stereo song, I figured out that the 2 audio cables, were a mono sound duplicated... So my phone seeing only 2 channels thought that they were a stereo output. To be sure of that I plugged the yellow cable (the video one) in an audio input (red or white), and the output was a sound signal!
I went to a friend's to ask him to borrow me his CA-75U, and everything works fine!
I'm sorry for this nearly useless topic

  • SVGA to RCA cable TV not working

I have a Macbook and I bought SVGA to RCA cable that I connect to the adapter from my Macbook so I can try to use it with my TV. The SVGA to RCA cable prongs are green, red and blue and are designed for HDTV.
I am trying to connect the Macbook to a Sony Trinitron Wega model which is not HDTV but has the same color female plugs (green, red, blue) on the back of the TV, but I can't get the video to work. I can connect a sound cable from the Macbook to the TV and get the sound to work, but not the video with this cable (the reception is black and fuzzy with no trace of the computer).
Should I get another cable, say an SVGA to S Video which I also have on the back of my TV?
The front of the TV has the standard yellow, white and red female plugs, should I get a cable with those colors?
Sorry if I sound completely dense here, but I know nothing about this kind of stuff...

I have the Apple Mini DVI to Video adapter sold for the MacBook. The problem I am having is finding the right cable that goes from the Apple Mini DVI to Video adapter to the TV, a Sony Trinitron.
On the back of the Sony there are three sets of female plugs for component video (red, green and blue). There is also S-video on the back. On the front you have female plugs for composite video (red, yellow, and white).
I am learning about this stuff as I go along. I guess at this point, because I live in the middle of the Pacific and can't just run to the Radio Shack or a Genius Bar, I am at the mercy of what I know plus what I can learn on these discussion forums.
As I wait (weeks) for a recently ordered S-video cable that will go from the Apple Mini DVI to Video adapter to the TV, can someone tell me why the Macbook won't work with the component (red, blue, green) video plugs? Is there a setting that I need to make to the TV or the Macbook that would allow for this to work? Will the Macbook only work with composite/s-video? Does anyone have a Macbook that is working with component video?
    Thanks!

  • No sound receiving with rca cable connection from lumia 1020

Has your existing cable a video line or just audio lines?

The RCA cable Nokia CA-72U (red+white; two rings on phone site) works here with my Lumia phone.
However, the Nokia CA-75U (red+white+yellow; three rings) does not work, because Lumia phones do not video-out, neither via component video nor via composite video. Furthermore, some devices are picky if video-in is not connected. Therefore, you have to
test whether the Nokia CA-72U works with your equipment. Did that help?

  • Connecting a Sony DVD player to Sony STR-DH750 AV Receiver with RCA cables

I have connected a Sony DVD player with RCA cables to  Sony STR-DH750 AV Receiver at the VIDEO inputs. I get audio, but no video. How do I connect the DVD player to the AV receiver to get both audio and video?

    Hi JB4,
Are you using HDMI cable in addition to your RCA connection? This HDMI cable is from the receiver going to the TV using the HDMI OUT port. Another option, you are using the RCA yellow + red&white right? you may connect the yellow cable directly to your TV if it has yellow port for video.
    Thanks.

  • How can I get audio to play from my TV when using hdmi cable?  Video looks great, just no sound.

How can I get audio to play from my TV when using hdmi cable?  Video looks great, just no sound.
I've tried plugging the hdmi into the TV directly and the receiver.
I get video every time.  HBO to Go , Xfinity, ABC, Youtube, etc...
    just no audio.  Any suggestions?
I've tried starting the apps then plugging in the hdmi cable.
I never tried this before I upgraded to IOS 5.

    Claudiamil-
I had not tried it with mine since upgrading to iOS 5, so I just did.  I'm using a small Vizio HDTV.  I did not try YouTube, but did try several videos and musical numbers.  In all cases there was sound, including stereo when the source had it.
I assume you are getting sound from the iPad when the adapter is not connected, so the volume is not turned down.  Dah*veed's suggestion to reset may be what you need.
