RCU and DB2 Installation Problems

If you are recieving the following error when trying to run the RCU against a DB2 version 9.7.2 (this is with Fix Pack 2), here is the solution to the error:
INCIDENT_ERROR rcu: oracle.sysman.assistants.rcu.backend.action.JavaAction::perform: Failed to execute method: Excepton:
[OWLS][DB2 JDBC Driver][DB2]OPERANDS OF ARITHMETIC OR COMPARISON OPERATION NOT COMPARABLE
Apparently there is an issue with how the timestamp is formatted. Change the following value in the database and it will run just fine.
Set DB2_COMPATIBILITY_VECTOR= FBF
FBF means all Oracle features minus DATE feature. Specific key word "ORA" means "FFF" in hexadecimal and DATE = "40". FFF-40=FBF

i just uninstalled my photoshop cc and lightroom 5 app after i purchased the creative cloud for photography and i am trying to reinstall the apps but i am unable too, can someone help me?

I had possibly the same error...
Windows installer looking for the LR 1.3 msi but could not find it (msi is extracted to a temp location on drive). The dialog box appeared asking for it to be manually located. Win Installer refered to an unavailable network resource. Install failed with an error, 1714(?) unable to remove older version.
I ran a search on C drive and located the extracted msi and directed installer to this location but still would not install.
Thought that there may be a problem left by a previous LR install so ran MS Windows Installer Clean Up Utility, selecting "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" only and click remove. (Warning: this can toast the app's install and require a total reinstall--I was luck).
Ran LR 1.3 installer and upgrade completed fine. Did have to tell LR 1.3 where my image folder on the ext. hard drive was and LR ran a check - catalog vs folder to ensure integrity.
All fine now.

10g and 11g installation problem on Vista Business version

Hi Everyone
I could not get either 10g or 11g database install in my vista business version.
11g Oracle universal installer was running, but many button does not work, like the folder browser and at some stage the program just terminate itself.
10g gave me a total green screen during the universal installer, the window taskbar showed the installer was running.
someone said it is the jre problem but i dont know how to fix it anyway. I tried to remove or update jre in my computer, but nothing get better.
My window has the newest updates. below are the database files i was using from oracle.
11g - win32_11gR1_database_1013.zip
10g - 10203_vista_w2k8_x86_production_db.zip

The reasons include:

BOE XI R3.1 and DB2 - Installation Error

Hi,
I am facing an error when installing BOE XI R3.1 in Windows Server 2003, with DB2 as database.
The error message:
Fail to validate the database information
CMS database error: STW00226
Database access error. Reason Loading shared object failed. First tried to load library db2app and failed because of error: [The specified module could not be found.
]. Second tried to load library db2app.dll and failed because of error: [The specified module could not be found.
Would much appreciate some advices on how to solve this error.

Hi;
please make sure that your DB2 environment is correctly set up, particularly I think the PATH environment variable should contain the folder where this db2app.dll library seats (somewhere in the DB2 client installation folder I guess).

IM version 8u1-01.03 and silent installation problem

Hi,
I want to install IM version 8u1-01.03 using a silent installation and my problem is this:
- In order to use Access Manager as a policy repository, the docs recommend to run IM as root so my silent config file has those parameters:
SRO.userId="root"
SRO.groupId="other"
But when the install finished, my config file (iim.conf) has:
iim.user = "inetuser"
iim.group = "inetgroup"
This only happens with silent install because if I use interactive installation and define the values:
Runtime User ID: [inetuser]:root
Runtime Group ID: [inetgroup]:other
The iim.conf will have the correct values (root/other)
At first, thought that I was missing a parameter in the silent configuration file but I ran the interactive configuration tool (/opt/sun/comms/im/sbin/configure --savestate /tmp/im2.conf) and define root/other as user/group values and works fine. After that, I erase the /etc/opt/SUNWiim directory and re-run a silent installation using the same file:
configure novalidate nodisplay noconsole silent /tmp/im2.conf
And it not work, the user/group parameters had inetuser/inetgroup values.
Any idea? Am I missing something?

bug #6818008 - "IM configurator doesn't honor statefile UID".
I've added your comments to the bug however, I would still recommend logging a sun support case to get this issue escalated for a fix.

ITunes6 and QT7 Installation Problems (Error 1402)

I have had many problems since trying to install iTunes 6 and QT7. I was getting error message-3, so I tried to download the stand alone QT7, as these pages have suggested. I received the following error message when I tried this:
"Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Applce Computer, INc.\QuickTime\ActiveX. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
I clicked OK and the following message came up:
"Error:-1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (MSI.chm) or MSDN for more information."
How can I access the HKEY... listed above to correct whatever needs to be corrected so that I can regain my iTunes?

After much trial and error, I think that I found a solution. Try this:
I must say that I am not a pc wizard and I don't know the technical reasons for why the following worked, it just did! So if there are any pc geeks out there, be sure to chime in. Anyway, this is what I did. First uninstall QuickTime if you do have it on your pc. If not, just go to the next step:
Go to START, then RUN. Type in regedit and then click OK. Your REGISTRY EDITOR should open. You should see HKEYLOCALMACHINE in the scroll down menu on the left, with a small box to its left. Make sure that the inside of the box has a negative sign - this will open up the next set of subfolders. Next, make sure that the subfolder, SOFTWARE, has a negative sign in the small box to its left. Next, make sure that there is a negative sign in the box next to the subfolder entitled, Apple Computer, Inc. You'll see at least three subfolders: iPod, iTunes and QuickTime. Click once on the QuickTime folder until it is highlighted and then delete it. You will be asked if you want to delete QuickTime and its subfolders. Click ok and then close out the Registry Editor.
Next, download the stand alone QuickTime 7 at this link (you may have to cut and paste this link to open this website):

When you download the stand alone QT7, you may get a couple of error messages (I did), but if you repeatedly click ok (like I did), the QT7 player should load with no problems (like it did for me).
Again, I am no pc geek, but this worked for me and I have gained access to iTunes6 (with video capacity) and my complete library is intact. Nothing like trial and error!! Good luck -- I hope this works for you!

AQ and Statspack installation problem because DBMS_JOB pkg locked

Hi,
I'm trying to install statspack on our 9.2.0.6 EE database, but getting error when DBMS_JOB pkg need to be recompiled (timeout when trying to obtain lock on dbms_job pkg) . That Database has have AQ usage , and its impossible to aquire lock on DBMS_JOB pkg.
How to circumvent that issue ?

CS5.5 Illustrator and re-installation problems

Iluustrator CS5.5 suddenly crashes after I open a file, so I uninstalled all of CS5.5 Design Premium
and then went to reinstall all from disk and it takes over 1 - 2 hours to install. But Illustrator does the
same crashing. So I uninstalled all CS5.5 apps again, and only installed Illustrator. It took 20 minutes
to install, and still crashes. The scenario is after I open it, then open a file, go to the font menu, it crashes.
Could it be corrupt fonts within Illusrator? I am at a loss. Please help.

It could be a corrupt font.
You may move suspect/newly istalled fonts out of the fonts folder. If there are no obvious choices, you may simply move out half of the fonts and see, then swap or move half of the half back in, or whichever system of moving decreasing number of font back and forth suits the purpose best, until you have things working with all but the failing font(s).
It should be mentioned that Illy is particularly particular when it comes to fonts beacuse she can use them at a higher level than others and therefore requires a higher standard; so a failing font may work in other applications.
But it may be worth trying to reinstall using the full three step way first (you can limit it to Illy):
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

DB2 9.1/AIX FP7 installation problem

I have problem with installation of v9.1 Fixpack 7 on V9.1.2
The installFixPack utility is hang on Step1 with error :
The DB2 installer detects that DAS "dasusr1" is still active. Stop the DAS and rerun the command again.
I try to stop DAS :
sapqas1# pwd
/opt/IBM/db2/V9.1/das/bin
sapqas1# ./db2admin stop
SQL4410W The DB2 Administration Server is not active.
DB2 instances completely down and no other DB2 processes is presented in the system.
II reboot the AIX LPAR, but this error still the same after rerun installFixPack

On the same AIX LPAR is installed SolMan instance (with its own DB2 copy on /usr/sap/<SID>/db2_910). And it is succesfully updated with FP7.

Based on the info you provided the fixpak install is failing with an error that the DAS instance is still running even after you successfully issued db2admin stop. what we can do instead is drop the DAS before the upgrade, then recreate it afterward. To drop the DAS, issue the following as root:

Oracle 10G installation problem, and errors on SOLARIS 10 x86

HI.
I installed the last version of oracle 10g on a x86 SOLARIS 10 system.
When the installer arrived at Configuration assistants, the window is stopping, and I can't see forward. But when I look at the installAction.log, the installation is checked as OK (?).
When I launch sqlplus, and startup inside, it is said the ora-00205 error (problem with control files), and in the end, I'm really suprised there's no the database I told the installer to create at the beginning. But should I be surprised? As I didn't see really the end of the installation, and the installer didn't propose me the PATH where to install the DB, well, I guess there's something wrong.
Could anybody tell me how to solve these problems, please?

Two options:
1. Create database using DBCA - execute $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbca
2. Create database manually (without DBCA)

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

BF2 disk drive and installation problems (Windows XP Home on a MBP)

So I've taken the leap and installed Windows XP Home on my MacBook Pro. It makes me cringe.
It was not an easy process. Installing Windows took me about 4 hours. There would be an error, I would have to eject the disk, reboot, and the promised 39 minutes seemed to be 5 times slower than it actually was. By the time I got Windows installed it seemed to be running ok, until yesterday.
Yesterday, I tried to install Battlefield 2 Deluxe Edition onto Windows. I inserted the first disc (1 of 5) and my MBP spit it right back out. This happened almost 10 times until finally when viewing "My Computer", the MBP accepted the disk. I then started to install. It froze up a couple of times, so I restarted. Same problem: the MBP wouldn't accept the disk. It finally did, I started install and it finally went. And then, about 4 or 5 percent of the way in, it stopped and said somethign along the lines of "BF2 installation failed, please restart install from the beginning". I did, and got the same message.
Any ideas?

Now that I have thought about it, I would have to guess that the problem is my SuperDrive.
That would attain for the slow Windows Installation and the BF2 problems.
I also am having problems importing a CD into iTunes. Seems like enough of a problem to make a visit to the Apple store.

HA Installation of ERP EHP4 on AIX and DB2

I have to do a HA installation of ERP EHP4 system on AIX and DB2. I have followed the standard inst.guide from SAP but I want more information. Can anyone help me in understanding how to go about installing HA in detail. I would be very grateful if anyone can provide me a guide/document of what and how they have done. Can you pls explain me the steps.
I also have few questions
1. Shall i do a Central installation or distributed installation ( meaning CI, ASCS and DB in one server failover to other; CI,ASCS on one server and DB running on different server which in case of failure will move to other server)
2. I know that OS team will do the cluster configuration but is there any other software to be bought for an automatic switchover in case of failures?
3. Mainly, as a BASIS consultant what is our role in HA configuration? What file systems should be defined and nfs mounted?

I think you did not get basic of HA installation. Its neither central nor distributed installation. You need to install CI and Dialog Instance locally on 2 nodes. DB and ASCS instance on the disk that will move across 2 nodes.

OS team will do file system config so that file system having ASCS and DB should move across 2 nodes. And rest of the file system should be local.
After installation making cluster movement automatic both OS and SAP Basis guy have to work together.

I would say primary role in HA installation is of Basis guy. Because he is the person who will decide what approach will you take to install HA either active-active or active-passive. Its you on whom requirement OS guy will work.

NetBeans and J2sdk1.4.2 installation problem

Hello,
I downloaded the "j2sdk-1_4_2_07-nb-4_0-bin-win.exe" and did installation.
The installation got completed with a message saying that the installation was over with errors.
Then when i execute the Netbeans, it gives an error message "Cannot find java.exe".
In my j2sdk folder there is a folder by name "_uninst", and a test file "install.txt". No other files are present.
The text file contains the following 2 lines,
"Installing J2SDK..."
"Finished Installing J2SDK..." "
Where Iam wrong. How should i get my java working.
Can any one give me a suggestion.

The bundled Java/NB product has a much higher incidence of install problems that the individual products.
I recommend you download and install a Java-only product , then separately download (from www.netbeans.org) a matching NB product.
I have Java 1.5.0_02 and a separately installed NB 4.0
(this route also allows easy upgrades of either product, independently.)
