RCU help while installing OBIEE

Hi All,
I have the following
1)Oracle DB
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
2) OS -->win home professional
3) RCU downloaded
ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.2.1_disk1_1of1
As my first step of creating MetaData Repository before installing OBIEE
I execute the RCU.bat file
At Step 3 of 7 .....
I get the needed AS Common Schema option as needed
but I do not get the Oracle Business intelligence to install the BIPLATFORM schema
when I query dba_users view in the DB i can see BI schema ....
Is BI and BIPLATFORM schema same ?
IF not ,how can I install BIPLATFORM schema using RCU

Hi,
Is your DB(MDS/_BIPLATFORM Schema) pointing to any other obie11g server? if no then try to drop your BI Schema from DB.
just launch RCU.bat and select drop option to remove schema from your DB then clean it and then re-install that schema.

I'm having an issue while installing obiee 11g(11.1.1.7.0) in windows server 2012 and using the database as ms sql server 2008. During configuration process after the installation process is completed , here the process is stopped at "Step:executing opmnctl start configuration_obisch1" status "failed"
Here is the error:

Installer file size is:
Size: *1.23 GB (1,323,085,837 bytes).*
Size on disk: *1.23 GB (1,323,089,920 bytes).*
I tested also disabling antivirus on my PC and disconnect the power cord before starting the installation of JDeveloper. In both tests the result was the same.
Some additional recommendations to solve this case.

What step are you seeing this error (in the log) during your installation? Do you have 64 bit Windows 7 Professional and above? Please provide more details about the steps you took before seeing this error. Provide all the details you think might be necessary for someone here to be able to pin-point the issue.

You mean you want to install the software in D: drive, if yes then ya you can install it in any Drive you want. You need to specify that path as where you will be installing for eg: D:\MW_HOME

Problem while installing obiee 11.1.1.5

Hello,
I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.5 in windows xp 32 bit.
I downloaded all the disks and now i am trying to install.
Disk1->setup.exe when i run i am getting this problem like JRE is not found inside the bin/javaw So pls install jre 1.3.1 or higher.
I went to programs->java->
I have jre1.6.0_25 (which just noew i recently installed) and jre6 (which was already there)
But still when i run i get this error?

Prerequisites:
1. A database with fusion middleware repository installed
* Create by running the RCU Install
* Be sure to use the correct matching RCU version 11.1.1.5
2. Select an installation directory with no spaces in the name
**** All components are now on port 7001. For example 9704 is no longer the port for analytics, because everything is now installed in a single WebLogic container.
Steps: (sorry no screen shots)
1> Run setup
2> Click next
3> Select skip software updates, click next
4> Select simple install, next
5> Check should be successful (requires a min of 2GB RAM), Click next to proceed
6> Select install location, next
7> Enter password for weblogic, next
8> Select products to install,Select all, Click next
9> For the BIPLATFORM Schema Enter the connection and schema information from the RCU recipe, Click next
10> The MDS Schema login information will be populated, for trivial install we don't changes this, click next
11> Security updates, opt out of security updates, Click next
12> Review installation summary, Click install to proceed
13> Install proceeds
14> The configuration process proceeds, if you get an error here it is likely a resource issue like not enough memory.
15> The installer completes.

I was trying to install OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.5.0 on a Windows Server 2003 32 Bit machine and was getting an error at 16% of Configuration Procress.

The etc/hosts file needs to be changed from 127.0.0.1 host to the physical IP address before the start of the installation of 11.1.1.5.

Error While Installing OBIEE in windows 7

Hi all,
I am trying to Install OBIEE 11 g in my Local machine .
i have 13 GB Free space as of now and i have done the first 2 steps like ..
1. Successfully installed Oracle Database XE
2. Successfully installed RCU with the component Metadata services and business intelligence Platform
step 3 is my problem.... when i start the Setup.exe file from my disk1 folder i am getting the Oracle business intelligence 11 g Installer screen.. then the installation still in the same screen even after 2 hours with the red progress bar and a message like "Generating sequence for page:prereqscreen")
can some assist me how to finish my installation

I am trying to install OBIEE 11g to my machine.I created the schema and all.
at the end got this error at the installation progress step.
The status bar shows 46% .
Installation Failed. OUI Session failed invalid entry CRC (expected 0xa8bed9c4 but got 0x87bc0dd6).
What to do now?

Deinstalled & clean your registry and delete the obiee folders from the drive and follow the below steps,

- installed 64 bits JDK (jdk-6u21-windows-x64.exe)
- installed Weblogic (wls1033_generic.jar) (Find the Steps : and Specify the installation Drive)
- installed OBI as "software only" (hesr follow as per Viktor Kibsgaard said) (*Here also Specify the same installation Drive*)
- configured OBI (config.bat you can find in <obi11g home>\Oracle_BI1\bin)
Steps : You can find the generic jar here:

and take the generic one (http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls1033_generic.jar)
You may install this by a command like this : java -XXm.... .... wls1033_generic.jar
Then a installer pops up.

Rcu 6130 while installing SOA 11g

Hi,
I got the following error while running rcu.
RCU-6130:Action failed -
RCU-6136:Error while trying to execute SQLPlus action.
The dialog just has an OK button, so I dont think so I have much of an option.
In the status on the next page, it shows failed for oid schema.
The oid.log is as below

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) schema shud not affect your SOA installation, But I see that sql statement drops the tablespace related to SOA infra and that is definitely going to cause the problem.
Make sure, you are connecting to database with Sysdba privileges and do you have a dynamic IP address or a static one on your machine.

Error while installing OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Linux

Hi,
I am trying to do OBIEE 11.1.1.7 Enterprise install on a Linux server. When I run the installer, after specifying install location, when I configure the components(Select BI Enterprise Edition, BI Publisher) I get error as ORACLE_HOME variable is already set and I should remove it first and run the installer again.
It already has Oracle 11g DB installed and the ORACLE_HOME variable points to that location. How to solve this?

You could try using unset just before you run the installer:
unset ORACLE_HOME
./runInstaller

Need help on install OBIEE 11g

Hi I installed OBIEE11g on windows 2008
However, the last step of OCM fails.
Then, I cannot find any service that I need to start or stop got register.
So if I install OCM, would it install the service for that?
Also it says the work-around is to install OCM kit.
I go to the edelivery.oracle.com but I have difficulties pin point the media pack that contain the OCM kit

In some cases, OCM is unable to retrieve the home name from the Windows registry. This causes a premature exit from the OCM configuration procedure.
Workaround: If you encounter this issue, you can download the latest OCM kit from OracleMetaLink and install it following the instructions provided on the OracleMetaLink Web site.
