Rd230 simple question re remote management module

Hi,
Just purchased and installed rd230. Installed win2008 R2 SP1 (manually...not with easystartup).
I'm reading the user guide for remote management module. Looks great! One thing...how do I setup the RMM???(IP address...etc). It's not in the BIOS setup...I don't see any prompt at boot to enter a config utility for it....any help??
Thanks
M

  • Color Management Module In Photoshop

    Question:  A color management module is the software that defines the mathematical manipulations by which color conversions are made?

    Thanks for your quick reply.

    Re: Color Management Module In Photoshop created by ronzie99 in Photoshop Elements - View the full discussion
    There are different types of icc\icm profiles used in color management.
    First is the color workspace. PSE is by default set to create files in the color space embedded in the image opened and if not then the default color space of your choosing. The type of color space describes the gamut limitations of that color space.
    Next are device specific color profiles. These are the display and printer profiles but can also exist for input devices. These profiles serve as tables to fit the measured characteristicsof the device to the color space requireed. For output devices there are Rendering Intents that can be chosen to determine how the limitations of a device can be best interpolated to fit the color space of an image  into the limitations of the device for best appearance.
    A practical way to think of a display to output workflow think of the color space situated between the displayed image and the output device with the color space in the middle defining limitations as a standard. The devices profiles are then measured against the standard color profile to create corrections or translation table so they react appropropriately to present the image on the display for the output device target profile in an attempt to get a 'what you see is what you get' envirionment for the specific devices used.
    You need to create via calibration either by you (better) or insttall from the manufacturer a profile for the display. This matches your display device to the 'standard' profile. If you go to print then you'll need to install a printer profile (which varies by ink and paper type) either OEM or from paper suppliers or created by a measuring device you can purchase if you go 'rogue' regrding non-OEM inks and papers.
    PSE does not have a soft-proof mode built in like Photoshop. It does have a setup, though, where it will let you assign every time you print an output profile that you select if you want PSE to directly manage the printer for tonality and color, in which case in the printer driver itself you disable color management only leaving the driver to descrive the image quality and surface type of the paer chosen and choosing none or leaving icm unchecked in the printer driver. The profile is selected in the PSE printer driver under advanced.
    Soft proof mode is where the display translation is further manipulated to approximate the printer output. This can happen because you have calibrated your monitor to a standard and a printer tothat same standard. I have an add-on for PSE 10 called Elements +  that in addition to lots of filters and effects adds some soft-proofing capability and curve color level adjustments to PSE. http://www.simplephotoshop.com/elementsplus/index.htm
    In practical terms that is the function of color management.
    BTW: The defacto color space for the Internet web browsers is sRGB. Use this when correcting color for web distribution.

  • Load Balancing Directory Servers with Access Manager - Simple questions

    Hi.
    We are in the process of configuring 2 Access Manager instances (servers) accessing the same logical LDAP repository (comprising physically of two Directory Servers working together with Multi-Master Replication configured and tested) For doing this, we are following guide number 819-6258.
    The guide uses BigIP load balancer for load balancing the directory servers. However, we intend to use Directory Proxy Server. Since we faced some (unresolved) issues last time that we used DPS, there are some simple questions that I would be very grateful to have answers to:
    1. The guide, in section 3.2.10 (To configure Access Manager 1 with the Directory Server load balancer), talks about making changes at 4 places, and replacing the existing entry (hostname and port) with the load balancer's hostname and port (assuming that the load balancer has already been configured). It says that changes need not be made on Access Manager 2 since the LDAPs are in replication, and hence changes will be replicated at all places. However, the guide also states that changes have to be made in two files, namely AMConfig.properties, and the serverconfig.xml file. But these changes will not be reflected on Access Manager 2, since these files are local on each machine.
    Question 1. Do changes have to be made in AMConfig.properties and serverconfig.xml files on the other machine hosting Access Manager 2?
    Question 2: What is the purpose of putting these values here? Specifically, what is achieved by specifying the Directory server host and port in AMConfig.properties, as well as in serverconfig.xml?
    Question 3. In the HTTP console, there is the option of specifying multiple primary LDAP servers, as well as multiple secondary LDAP servers. What is the purpose of these? Are secondary servers attempted when none of the list in the primary list are accessible? Also, if there are multiple entries in the primary server list, are they accessed in a round robin fashion (hereby providing rudimentary load balancing), or are other servers accessed only when the one mentioned first is not reachable etc.?
    2. Since I do not have a load balancer setup yet, I tried the following deviation to the above, which, according to me, should have worked. If viewed in the HTTP console, LDAP / Membership / MSISDN and Policy configuration all pointed to the DS on host 1. When I changed all these to point to the directory server on host 2 (and made AMConfig.properties and serverconfig.xml on host 1 point to DS of host 2 as well), things should have worked fine, but apparently Access manager 1 could not be started. Error from Webserver:

    In effect, AM on 1 did not start. On rolling back the changes, things again worked like previously.
    Will be really grateful for any help / insight / experience on dealing with the above.
    Thanks!

    Update to the above, incase anyone is reading:
    We setup a similar setup in Windows, and it worked. Here is a detailed account of what was done:
    1. Host 1: Start installer, install automatically, chose Directory server, Directory Administration server, Directory Proxy server, Web server, Access Manager.
    All installed, and worked fine. (AMConfig.properties, serverconfig.xml, and the info in LDAP service, all pointed to HOST1:389)
    2. Host 2: Start installer, install automatically, chose Directory server, Directory Administration server, Directory Proxy server, Web server, Access Manager.
    All installed, and worked fine. (AMConfig.properties, serverconfig.xml, and the info in LDAP service, all pointed to HOST2:389)
    3. Host 1: Started replication. Set to Master
    4. Host 2: Started replication. Set to Master
    5. Host 1: Setup replication agreement to Host 2
    6. Host 2: Setup replication agreement to Host 1
    7. Initiated the remote replica from Host 1 ----> Host 2
    Note that since default installation uses abc.....xyz as the encryption key, setting this to same was not an issue.
    9. Started webserver for Host 1 and logged into AM as amadmin.
    10. Added Host 2 FQDN in DNS Aliases / Realms
    11. Added http://HOST2_FQDN:80 in the Platform server (instance) list.
    12. Started Host 2 webserver. Logged in AM on Host 2, things worked fine.
    At this stage, note the following:
    a) Host 1:
    AMConfig.properties file has
    com.iplanet.am.directory.host=host1_FQDN
    and
    com.iplanet.am.directory.port=389
    serverconfig.xml has:
    <Server name="Server1" host="host1_FQDN" port="389" type="SIMPLE" />
    b) Host 2:
    AMConfig.properties file has
    com.iplanet.am.directory.host=host2_FQDN
    and
    com.iplanet.am.directory.port=389
    serverconfig.xml has:
    <Server name="Server1" host="host2_FQDN" port="389" type="SIMPLE" />
    c) If one logs into AM, and checks LDAP servers for LDAP / Policy Configuration / Membership etc services, they all contain Host2_FQDN:389 (which makes sense, since replica 2 was initialized from 1)
    Returning back to the configuations:
    13. On Host 1, login into the Admin server console of the Directory server. Navigate to the DPS, and confgure the following:
    a) Network Group
    b) LDAP servers
    c) Load Balancing
    d) Change Group
    e) Action on-bind
    f) Allow all actions (permit modification / deletion etc.).
    g) any other configuations required - Am willing to give detailed steps if someone needs them to help me / themselves! :)
    So now, we have DPS configured and running on Host1:489, and distributing load to DS1 and DS2 on a 50:50 basis.
    14. Now, log into AM on Host 1, and instead of Host1_fqdn:389 (for DS) in the following places, specify Host1_fqdn:489 (for the DPS)--
    LDAP Authentication
    MSISDN server
    Membership Service
    Policy configuation.
    Verified that this propagated to the Policy Configuration service and the LDAP authentication service that are already registered with the default organization.
    15. Log out of AM. Following the documentation, modify directory.host and directory.port in AMConfig.properties to point to Host 1_FQDN and 489 respectively. Make this change in AMConfig.properties of both Host 1 as well as 2.
    16. Edit serverconfig.xml on both hosts, and instead of they pointing to their local directory servers, point both to host1_FQDN:489
    17. When you start the webserver, it will refuse to start. Will spew errors such as:

    Success!
    The server https-host1_FQDN has started up.
    The server infact, didn't start up (nothing even listening on 58080).
    However, if AMConfig.properties is left as it originally was, and only serverconfig.xml files were changed as mentioned above, web servers started fine, and things worked all okay. (Alright, except for some glitches when viewed in /amconsole. If /amserver/console is accessed, all is good. Can this mean that all is still not well? I am not sure).
    So far so good. Now comes the sad part. When the same is done on Solaris 9, things dont work. You continue to get the above error, OR the following error, and the web server will refuse to start:
    Differences in Solaris and Windows are as follows:
    1. Windows hosts have 1 IP and hostname. Solaris hosts have 3 IPs and hostnames (for DS, DPS, and webserver).
    No other difference from an architectural perspective.
    Any help / insight on why the above is not working (and why the hell does the documentation seem so sketchy / insecure / incorrect).
    Thanks a bunch!

  • AD Connector Remote Manager Question

    all,
    trying to install MSFT AD BASE 91170 connector on OIM/OAM 11.1.1.3 environment. Finished the following steps thus far:
    1. created OIM/OAM/AD server environments
    2. Created OIMGroup and admin user account association
    3. Imported the connector
    4. Update ADITResource
    5. Copied ldapbp.jar and ran uploadjars.sh script
    6. Updated search base in Group Lookup Recon and Organization Lookup Recon jobs
    7. I was able to provision a user
    I have two questions:
    1. section 2.2.2.1 (on page 2-14 connector indicates that i need to run installation of remote manager on the AD server). Is this step and the subsequent steps required to be configured. What else do i need to run as part of installation. If the rest of the steps are optional in what cases do they need to be created?
    2. My design console Lookup.ADReconciliation.GroupLookup does not have any values, it appears recon did not work in this case. What could i be doing wrong, i can add configuration details if needed. - I have done this before but not sure what i missed this time.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prasad.

    Sagar,
    I ran the group lookup recon task several times yesterday. OIM did not populate the lookup. Today i change the recon type from Refresh to Update and changed it back to Refresh and it worked with few exceptions like the one below:
    Overall now the records are there, but it is unclear why the original task executions did not pull anything. I did not see any other exception either yesterday.

    Hi winlovepc, I believe you need to contact Cisco for that model since it's a business class VPN router. They will be able to properly help you out with it.

  • This is a very simple question,but I don't know.Please me.Thank you!

    I am a Chinese student in a university.I have a very simple question to ask.
    I have writed a EJB module,and I have deployed to Weblogic8.1 successfully.
    1.Now I want to write a client program.Is it necessary that the client program is packaged in the EJB package.For example ,the EJB package is Beans,is "package Beans " or "import Beans.*" necessary in my client program.
    2.If I only know the EJB interfaces,that means the EJB module is writed by other programer.I want to know how I can write the client program.How can I call EJB module's method writed by other programer.Could you give me a simple example?

  • Debuggin a Call to Remote Function Module

    Hi
    I have a scenario where i have a Remote Function Module in r3 which is being called synchronously by an external java application. The FM has a lot of input and output parameters and many tables.  The output returned by the FM is not as expected.
    Can anyone tell me how debug a Remote Function Module when a call has been made from an external application.
    I am not able to get the test data sent by the external application . So when the external application gives a call to this Remote FM and if it is possibele to debug it would be great.
    regards
    Nilesh Taunk.

    Hi Nilesh,
    1) Login to SAP with the same ID with which you will calling the RFC function module from the outside system.
    2) Goto transaction - se37/se38
    3) Goto Utilities => Settings.
    4) Select the ABAP Editor Tab.
    5) Click on the Debugging tab.
    6) Tick the Actv. button and give the user name with which you will be debugging the code. In this case the logged in user id.
    7) Press Enter.
    8) Now put an external break point inside the Function Module.
    9) Load your external application (from where you want to debug the FM) once again.
    The execution will stop in the FM.
    Hope it helps..
    Lokesh

  • Powershell generic session and import this session in Exchange remote management session c#

    The situation :
    I am trying to make an application (c#-asp.net) to manipulate user's on an exchange server. The application will be on a different server than the exchange's one. So, to manipulate the data, I am using an "Exchange remote management session" created
    with c#. Exchange remote management session give access to simple powershell command like "New-Mailbox" and "Set-User" - This is good for simple task, but in my case, I have to do more complexe operations that will need some specific command
    that is not included in the default command. To access this command, I have to use some specific module like "ActiveDirectory". It is simple ? Only use "Import-Module" ! Not really, like I said, the "Exchange remote management session"
    is very limited with the command, and "Import-Module" is not allowed...
    So what we can do ?
    I read a lot about my problem, and the most "simple" (That I understand the theory) solution is something like :
    Start with a generic PS session, import the AD module, then connect to an Exchange management session and do an Import-PSSession and use implicit remoting for the
    Exchange management stuff.
    Given that I am pretty new to manipulate the Powershell with c#, I have no idea how to use this awesome solution in my code. So I am asking your help.
    Here's my current code :
    // Prepare the credentials.
    string runasUsername = @"MarioKart 8";
    string runasPassword = "MarioKart";
    SecureString ssRunasPassword = new SecureString();
    foreach (char x in runasPassword)
    ssRunasPassword.AppendChar(x);
    PSCredential credentials =
    new PSCredential(runasUsername, ssRunasPassword);
    // Prepare the connection
    var connInfo = new WSManConnectionInfo(
    new Uri("MarioKart8Server"),
    "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.Exchange",
    credentials);
    connInfo.AuthenticationMechanism =
    AuthenticationMechanism.Basic;
    connInfo.SkipCACheck = true;
    connInfo.SkipCNCheck = true;
    // Create the runspace where the command will be executed
    var runspace = RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace(connInfo);
    // create the PowerShell command
    var command = new Command("New-Mailbox");
    // Add the command to the runspace's pipeline
    runspace.Open();
    var pipeline = runspace.CreatePipeline();
    pipeline.Commands.Add(command);
    // Execute the command
    var results = pipeline.Invoke();
    if (results.Count > 0)
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("SUCCESS");
    else
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("FAIL");
    This code work great for simple task (like "New-Mailbox") ! But how can I create a "generic PS session" and then use this session in the "Exchange remote management session" ?

    Hi Vincent,
    Generally we can use the cmdlet "import-module" to import the AD module on DC (Domain Controller), and we can also create a exchange remote powershell session with the cmdlet new-pssession, for more detailed information to create exchange remote session,
    please refer to this article:
    Managing Exchange 2010 with Remote PowerShell
    In addition, to invoke powershell cmdlet in C#, please also try to save all the cmdlets to a powershell script (.ps1 file), then we can add the powershell script to C# like:
    Pipeline pipeline = runspace.CreatePipeline();
    pipeline.Commands.AddScript(scriptText);
    If I have any misunderstanding, please let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Anna Wang

  • Remote Management Multi-User security issue

    Hello,
    This issue concerns both Mountain Lion and Lion servers. If I'm not mistaken, the issue is also officially described by Apple in the Lion release about Remote Managemenr vs Screen Sharing features.
    My question is simple and yet unanswered after hundreds of Internet searches:
    Why on earth a non-Admin user has the right to Share and Control the screen of another (Admin) user being logged-in a (Mountain) Lion server? It looks like the trick is that "Remote Management" instead of "Screen Sharing" is active. So what? Why a non-Admin should be allowed at all to view another users desktop just by typing-in his/her own credentials?
    Am I missing something or is Apple really out-of-security context? Our admin devoted significant effort to arrange access for the shared directories. For what? To find out that the Screen Sharing security under ARD Management (Remote Management) is non-existent?
    Am I terribly wrong?
    Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

  • Guide to remote manage Hyper-V servers and VM's in workgroups or standalone

    This guide is based on the following 3 products:
    Windows server 2012 (core)
    Windows 8
    Hyper-V server v3 / Hyper-V server 2012
    The following guide will enable you to:
    1: remotely manage your Hyper-V Virtual Machines with Hyper-V manager
    2: remotely manage your Hyper-V servers' firewall with a MMC snap-in.
    3: remotely manage your Hyper-V server (2012) with server manager
    ! This should also work for Core installations of server 2012, but I haven't tried.
    This guide is purely focussed on servers in a WORKGROUP, or as a stand alone.
    I CAN NOT tell you what you need to do to get it working in a domain.
    * You can run these commands straight from the console (Physically at the machine) or through RDP.
    * You will need to be logged on as an administrator.
    * Commands are listed in somewhat random order; I do however advise to follow the steps as listed.
    * Commands with ? in front of them are only ment to be helpfull for troubleshooting,
    * and to identify settings and changes made.
    * Commands and instructions with ! in front of them are mandatory.
    - server: means the server core or hyper-v server (non gui)
    - client: means the machine you want to use for remote administration.
    - Some commands are spread over 2 lines; be sure to copy the full syntax.
    > To enable the Hyper-V manager to connect to your server, you need to perform the following 2 actions: (Assuming you have already installed the feature)
    1:
    ! Client: Locate the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file.
    ! right-click --> properties --> security
    ! click --> edit --> add --> YOURUSERNAME or Administrator --> OK
    ! then select this new user, and tick the "modify"-box under the "allow"-section.
    ! apply the change, and close.
    ! doubleclick the file, and open with notepad
    ! add the ip-address and name of your server (no // or other crap needed)
    ! Save the file
    # I recommend putting a shortcut to this file on the desktop.
    # If you change the ip-address of your server (e.g. move the server from staging to a live environment)
    # you might forget to do so in the hosts file.
    # Hyper-V manager, MMC, RSAT, and Server-manager all rely on the hosts-file to resolve the name.
    # some of these might connect to their respective service on an i.p.-level, but some don't.
    # This is the main reason you need to modify this file.
    ! USE AN ELEVATED CMD/POWERSHELL PROMPT TO CONTINUE !
    # the next config needs to be done on windows 8.
    # It seems that it's already preconfigured under server 2012
    2:
    ! Client: dcomcnfg
    ! open component services --> computers
    ! right-click -> my computer -> properties
    ! select "COM SECURITY" tab
    ! under "ACCESS PERMISSIONS" select "edit limits"
    ! select "ANONYMOUS LOGON", and tick "remote access" under ALLOW
    # Without this adjustment, you can't connect to your Hyper-V server
    # with the Hyper-V manager if you're not in a domain.
    > And if you haven't done so already... make sure you have enabled remote management number 4 on the Hyper-V server console.
    > Next, is to get the MMC firewall snap-in working.
       The reason for this, is to have a GUI available to configure it.
       If you're happy without it, you may skip this and use a shell instead to do so.
    ? server: netsh advfirewall show currentprofile
    # shows the current profile (public/domain/private) and its settings
    # depending on your needs, you should set the right profile to fit your needs.
    # You can easily do this when the MMC snap-in is done. (after you've followed these steps)
    ! server: netsh advfirewall set currentprofile settings remotemanagement enable
    # enables remote management of the firewall on an application level
    # (In other words: allows the firewall to be remotely managed)
    ! server: netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Windows Firewall Remote Management" new enable=yes
    # allows remote management of the firewall, through the required firewall ports with TCP protocol.
    # 4 rules will be updated to allow access: public & Domain, dynamic and endpoint-mapper.
    # You can disable/add/change the rule from the MMC snap-in after finishing this guide.
    # e.g. set the firewall through the MMC-GUI to only allow specific ip-addresses etc.
    ? server: netsh advfirewall firewall show rule all
    # Shows a list of available rules, and their current state.
    # when run from cmd, the list exceeds the maximum length for review.
    # (from cmd,type:) start powershell, and run the command from there.
    ! Client: cmdkey /add:YOURSERVERNAME /user:USERNAMEONTHESERVER /pass:THEPASSWORDOFTHATUSER
    # I recommend you to use a username with enough privileges for management
    # All capital letters need to be replaced with your input
    # CMD answers "credential added successfully" when you're done
    ! Client: locate MMC, and run it as an admin.
    # In windows 8/2012, go to search and type MMC. Right-click the icon,
    # and choose run as admin on the bar below.
    ! Client: application MMC: select "file" --> Add/remove snap-in
    ! --> (left pane) scroll down to "windows firewall" --> select and click "add"
    ! select "another computer"
    ! type the name of the server you want to manage (NO workgroup/ or //, just same name as you typed for cmdkey)
    * Part 2 is done.
    # Have a look by doubleclicking the firewall icon in the left pane.
    # It looks and works the same as the GUI version that you are familiar with.
    ! Next is the Server Manager.
    # Follow the steps listed to get your server listed and manageable in the server manager.
    ! Client: Open the created Firewall snap-in for your server.
    ! Find the 3 "Remote Event Log Management" entries in the list of INBOUND rules, and enable them.
    ! Open powershell --> in cmd windows, type: start powershell
    ! run the following line in powershell
    ! Client: in C:\Windows\system32> set-item WSMAN:\localhost\client\trustedhosts -value YOURSERVERNAME -concatenate
    # WinRM Security Configuration.
    # This command modifies the TrustedHosts list for the WinRM client. The computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be
    # authenticated. The client might send credential information to these computers. Are you sure that you want to modify
    # this list?
    # [Y] Yes  [N] No  [S] Suspend  [?] Help (default is "Y"): y
    # I recommend to choose yes; unless you like to pull some more hairs...
    ! server: winrm qc
    # WinRM service is already running on this machine.
    # WinRM is not set up to allow remote access to this machine for management.
    # The following changes must be made:
    # Configure LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy to grant administrative rights remotely
    # to local users.
    # Make the changes? y / n
    !  select yes
    ! Client: open the server 2012 server manager
    ! click manage -> add server
    ! select the DNS tab, and type the name of your server
    Done.
    You can now manage your remote server through the familiar computer management GUI.
    ! Right-click your remote server, and select "Computer Management"
    A few side notes:
    ? The Performance tab seems to list the local machine's performance, in stead of the remote servers'
    ? If you want Windows server backup, you need to right-click the server in the server manager, and select "add roles and features.
    ? it will then become available under the "computer management" of the remote server.
    If you liked this guide you may thank my employer, Mr. Chris W.
    for giving me the time to work it all out.
    Cheers!

    As a little update to the post, I'd like to add that replication, clustering and migration will not work in workgroup environments. Unless someone can provide an additional guide for this, I'd recommend anyone to no even bother to try.
    To manage the standalone hyper-v server in a remote location over the internet, I would recommend the following:
    Install windows 8 pro (x86 uses less resources!) as a vm on the host, and assign 2 network connections to it.
    1 external (shared with host) (be sure you have a dedicated ip-address for it!)
    1 internal connection.
    What I did was this:
    As soon as you've installed the win8 guest, proceed with the guide as described.
    For the 1st step of the guide (hosts-file) use the ip-address you will later assign to the "internal" network switch of the host!
    In my example, I'm using 10.0.0.1 for the host, and 10.0.0.2 for the guest.
    To be clear: I first used the guide on a LAN-environment, and did all the steps from a "real" client to server on the LAN.
    Then, installed the win8 guest on the host using the "real" clients' hyper-v manager over the LAN.
    Next, assigned the 2 network connections to the VM, and configured them as follows:
    external - as you would to be able to make your guest reach the internet.
    internal - I used the following config:
    ip-address: 10.0.0.2
    subnet: 255.255.255.252
    gateway - blank
    dns - Blank
    Now, when you get to the console of the hyper-v server (host) or RDP to it, go to network settings.
    You'll see that the internal card has been added here as well.
    Configure it as follows:
    ip-address: static - 10.0.0.1
    subnet: 255.255.255.252
    gateway - blank
    dns - blank
    You should now be able to ping your guest (win8) on 10.0.0.2 if it's running.
    Don't forget to enable ping response (option 4 on the host) to test connectivity the other way around as well (guest to host)
    When you're done, you'll be able to RDP to the guest OS over the internet, and then connect to the host with server manager, hyper-v manager, and MMC.
    Don't forget to enable each module on the hosts' firewall to make the snap-ins work!
    Remote volume management requires your guest/client firewall INcoming ports to be enabled as well! not just the host.
    Either update the firewall rules from the MMC gui as described in the guide, or use the following commands on the
    hosts' powershell:
    Enable the firewall rules with the command Enable-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup "USE_THE_COMMANDS_BELOW" (include the " " in the command)
    Remote Service Management
    Remote Volume Management
    Remote Event Log Management
    Remote Scheduled Tasks Management
    Windows Firewall Remote Management
    Windows Remote Management
    You can get the list with Get-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName *management*
    You can get the list with Get-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName *remote*
    Commands provided with credits to F. verstegen
    Cheers,
    Michael.

  • Mountain Lion Server: add network user to remote management

    Hi,
    So recently I have upgraded from Lion Server to ML Server. A little disappointing, but whatever, I've moved on and got everything almost back to where I had it with Lion.
    My last few issues I believe are related but can't quite figure it out. In Lion I have an admin profile and then a network user profile that I used on my MBP bound with AD. I'm at the stage where my nre network user can log in on the server machine but I can't log in as the network user via screen sharing. I can't add a network user to Remote Management, and with Remote Management enabled Screen Sharing is greyed out. I'd really like this to work.
    My second problem is that I can't bind my MBP to the server but even when bound the network user account can't log in.
    Any body have  any ideas?
    Thanks!

    I had this problem on a clean install.
    The solution was incredibly simple for me, but only  after I saw Ross.M's note about opening the Users & Groups settings panel (in the OS System Prefs, not in server) and rebinding to OD server under Login Options.
    That was not the solution for me, but under Login Options I discovered a previously unnoticed pref for "Allow network users to login at login window."  I had this option set (apparently by default) to "Only these network users:"  but with an empty list.  Adding my users to the list made it work perfectly.
    Talk about KISS

  • System Image Utility - Create User - Activate Remote Management

    When creating an image with system image utility, based on a DVD image instead of a cloned image, I cannot create a user and activate Remote Management.
    I have created an installer package with Apple Remote Desktop that is supposed to do both, however it doesn't work. I do not get an error, but no user is created.
    I have tried a post-install script however the dscl command is not recognized even if I put the path /usr/bin/dscl.
    I even tried to use a popular package out there called "createUser" but that fails as well.
    Has anyone had any luck with this when trying to make a moduler image with System Image Utility?
    Message was edited by: NeedSomeAnswer

    After configuring all the appropriate settings, I
    push the "Create" button and it appears to start
    working, prompts me for a location to save the actual
    image itself, creates a folder with the default name
    and then nothing happens.
    ok here's the deal: i created a folder in my OSX server home directory labelled "images" and keep our multiple images there. although you CAN have your images on other drives or on the network, that would take a LOOOOOOOONG time to do the data transfer to the invisible netboot folder on your server. my advice: keep local copies of all images. save a ton of time for yourself, eh?
    then, when it's time to use the system image suntility to load up an image, i go to that same location each time, call it up and have the app set to the prefs i want or need. i'm on 10.4.7 server and have had no problem using the software.
    so try using images locally and then, if that doesn't work, upgrade to 10.4.7

  • How to execute vb script with out using Remote manager in oim 11g r2

    Hi Currently,
    i have a requirement to execute  vb script (present on a remote machine in which connector server is installed) from oim machine while using Exchange connector (11.1.1.6).
    This can be achieved by using remote manager,but i dont want to use remote manager.
    Hence decided to use Action scripts.
    As per connector configuration,
    i have configured Action scripts in Lookup.Exchange.UM.Configuration lookup definition, by means of three entries
    After Create Action Language      Shell
    After Create Action Target           Resource
    After Create Action File              /home/scripts/Disable.bat
    Disable.bat has the following ,
    Powershell.exe -File C:\scripts\Setup.vbs
    -%Log on Name%
      Exit
    As Setup.vbs is expecting a parameter of log on name, i was providing the same.
    But while creating the user,as this script gets called, getting the following error and hence 'create User' is getting failed.
    Problem while PowerShell execution System.Management.Automation.RemoteException: This task does not support recipients of this type. The specified recipient XXXXXXXXXXX...XXXXX is of type UserMailbox. Please make sure that this recipient matches the required recipient type for this task.
    While provisioning the user to Exchange , i have selected 'Recepient type' as 'User Mail box' explicitly, but still getting the error.
    Please provide any pointers to resolve the issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Kumar

    As far as I know Oracle and MySQL are two different products.
    Why do you clutter an Oracle forum with MySQL questions?
    If MySQL is such a tremendous RDBMS, like many people state (as 'free' means per definition better),
    why don't you visit a MySQL forum where fellow MySQL aficionados can answer you MySQL questions?
    In short, why don't you stop abusing Oracle forums?
