RDA implemented scnarios

Hi All,
I want to know where we can use the RDA ( Real Time Data Acquizition) data flow.
Its is supposed to be used for enabling the user to take teh tacticale decisions.
I want the scnarios where tacticals decisions are needed from BW reports.
I am looking in the HR area specifically.
The TIME, PAYROLL or ACTIONS business scnaions will be helpful for me.

Real-time data acquisition supports tactical decision-making. It also supports operational reporting by allowing you to send data to the delta queue or PSA table in real-time. You then use a daemon to transfer DataStore objects to the operational DataStore layer at frequent regular intervals. The data is stored persistently in BI.
Its recommend that you use real-time data acquisition if you want to transfer data to BI at shorter intervals (every minute) than scheduled data transfers and you need up-to-date data to be regularly available in reporting (several times a day, at least).

Unable to delete DSO request.

Hi Everyone,
We have Real time Data Acquisition (RDA) implemented in our system. Yesterday RDA failed due to invalid characters. We corrected data at PSA level and tried to run repair process chain, the request is not deleting with a
diagnosis message "Insertion of a data record into the active table failed. The data record already existed. This indicates manual changes to the database table".
Could somebody help in what way we can delete this request and load the corrected request. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions.
Atlast the request was deleted successfully. I have following request related information to update to all of you.
Apart from the standard tables mentioned, viz., RSICCONT, RSMONICDP and RSODSACTREQ, . There is an other table RSBKREQUEST. This table contains the details of DTP requests.
Even after deleting from other tables mentioned before, we have to set the status field of the table RSBKREQUEST to "DELETED". Ours was in "INCORRECT" status, this was the reason because of which it was unable to run repair process chain, even after DTP request was removed from Infoprovider Administration.
So please note above table, which in very important for DTP requests and first 3 tables are enough only incase DTP is not involved and only infopackage is used to load to data target (3.x version).

Creation of RDA infopackage is not possible for datasource 0FI_GL_6 ?

I tried to implement a RDA process for BC DSO 0FIGL_O06 "FIGL: Transaction Figures" by setting the REALTIME field of table ROOSOURCE in the source system. Everything seemed to be OK, the related DTP is changeable to "Real-Time DTP", all prerequisites of this help <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f6/787e403566c65de10000000a155106/content.htm">Creating InfoPackages for Real-Time Data Acquisition</a> are fulfiled, but in the IP creation dialogue the RDA field is greyed out. What could it be? Did you also experience such a problem and solved it?

certainly I had searched the forum before I asked and I read also the thread you sent me. But to my knowledge (please correct me if I'm wrong!) there wasn't a hint anywhere about migrating your 3.x ds to a 7.0 ds as a prerequisite for RDA. That was the reason why I asked.

BI 7.0 Question on RDA (Real Time Data Acquisition)

Those who have all implemented RDA (real Time Data Acquisition) in BI 7.0, could you please tell me if this is limited to only a few of the extractors or available to all the business content extractors. Reason I ask this question is I read that if you have PI_BASIS 2005.1 then RDA is possible, but when I go into ROOSOURCE table in R/3 I do not see the Real time flag checked for any of the transactional Businees content extractors!!
Also does this mean that we need to set this flag manually and if so is this supported by SAP? please throw in expert your responses...

New Scnario in sales return

Dear Friends,
My Client is textile sector, i Have a scnario that in sales return the material should directly move from one customer to another customer
for eg:i have invoiced to customer "A" now the customer "A" want to return the materials. instead of taking the material back to stock we want to move the material to customer "B" and raise a credit note to Customer "A" and invoice to Customer "B".
How to configure this in SAP Sales return cycle.

this is very common scenario, i have seen this in my two implementation and did best out of available solutions.
1. when stock transferring from one customer to another customer if it is with the knowledge of ur sales person and understanding between two customers then no need of accounting entry in business, because one customer sends and the other customer receives the goods and pays the amount, in turn that sending customer pays that amount to the business. there is no returns entry in business. mostly this happens any business. sales person deal with this outside business.
2. if business wants this info officially, then there is no other way except doing entire returns process.
take returns from returning customer, give him credit note and send that goods to the customer who receiving it and make a fresh invoice for that.

RDA for Transactional Data Changes (But needs to load as Master Data to IO)

Hi,
I would like to use RDA to load Data changes into IO (Not for DSO).
I tried using this, i can able to load data into PSA. But, from PSA to IO, No datapackage is getting transfered. i.e. Transfered records = 0.
We considered several options i.e. remote cubes etc. We need to implement RDA.
Note: I have gone through the Documentation on RDA. Which SAP mentioned, RDA won't support for Master Data if we have aggregates. We don't have any Aggregates build on my cubes.

RDA DTP is used for supplying data to the Data Store Objects but not to the Master data infoobjects...

RDA Best fit

Hi,
We would like to go for RDA in our implementation, can you please let me know on which application areas we can use RDA and for which we cannot work on this.. ie is it best fit for FI related applilcations or Logistcs.

Usage of RDA is not restricted based on application areas. Some BI content data sources support RDA extraction . You can use only those data sources for RDA extraction
Check BI content data sources in FI to ensure RDA is supported or not.

Real-Time Data Acquisition u2013BI 2004
Real-time data acquisition supports tactical decision-making. It also supports operational reporting by allowing you to send data to the delta queue or PSA table in real-time.
You might be having complex reports in your BI System, which helps in making decisions on the basis of data of your transactional system. Sometimes (quarter closure, month end, year ending...) single change in the transactional data can change your decision, and its very important to consider each record of transactional data of the company at the same time in BI system as it gets updated in the transactional system.
Using new functionality of Real-time Data Acquisition (RDA) with the Net Weaver BI 2004s system we can now load transactional data into SAP BI system every single minute. If your business is demanding real-time data in SAP BI, you should start exploring RDA.
The source system for RDA could be SAP System or it could be any non-SAP system. SAP is providing most of the Standard Data Sources as real-time enabled.
The other alternative for RDA is Web Services, even though Web Services are referred for non-SAP systems, but for testing purpose here I am implementing Web Service (RFC) in SAP source system.
Eg will be a production line where business wants information regarding defective products in the real time so that production can be stopped before more defective goods are produced.
In the source system, the BI Service API has at least the version Plug-In-Basis 2005.1 or for 4.6C source systems Plug-In 2004.1 SP10.

RDA Requirements

Dear Gurus,
I currently have an ECC 5.0 R/3 system connected to BW 3.5 and running perfectly on major business areas like sales, inventory, purchasing, FI/COPA etc.
I am in the process of implementing BI 7.0 as a separate server connected to the same ECC 5.0 R/3 system and intend to use the same datasources currently linked to the BW 3.5 system.
The requirement is that we will be expensively using RDA for the BI 7.0 extraction and current PI_BASIS component in R/3 is 2004_1_640 at level 10. I suppose this level does not support RDA and I need to upgrade PI_BASIS to the next version.
The question is would it affect the existing data sources and delta which are already mapped to the BW 3.5 server if I upgrade the PI_BASIS plugin to a version that supports RDA on the R/3 source swystem?

Proceeding is as follows (SPS8 is recommended):
a.) Set field ROOSOURCE-REALTIME for respective DataSource (per customer ABAP report)
b.) Replicate DataSource
c.) Create DeltaInit InfoPackage and execute
d.) Create Transformation and DTP to a DataStore Object (if applicable)
e.) Create a daemon in Real-Time Monitor (Transaction RSRDA)
f.) Locate your DataSource in the 'Not assigned' part of the tree structure
g.) Assign InfoPackage and DTP to daeomon (via context menu on the DataSource)
h.) Start the daemon
3)Why only ODS is used to load for REAL TIME datasources and not INFOCUBES.
==> Since data is immediately available for reporting and we have an open request we have a specific update processing for the data target (with a special DTP). This has currently only been implemented for DataStore Object.

To change standard extraction to RDA in sap bi 7.02

We have recently implemented Sap (ECC 6.0 & BI 7.02) in Our bi 7.02 extraction is taking place with standard extraction... I want to replace with RDA (Real-Time Data Acquisition) ..I am looking RDA for SD. I am new to BI... so dont know much about it... Need Help.... need step by step procedure....

How you say that they created in bw side? its standard data source.
Above data source might be loaded from source(data services), in that case replication is mandatory.
Take your colleagues help and follow the manual work if program was not working.
List the available data sources, divide the list and assign work to other bw consultants.
start working as manual activation.
Please try this once.
Replicate your data source in RSDS version.
Later run above program, select inactive objects and enter data source name.
execute in background and see. it may works.
if you got any error please share here.

ERROR INSERT IPAK FACTORY - With RDA

Hi all,
Am just playing in and around RDA process , I have created an dummy DAEMON for a test generic data source and scheduled it for evry 5 min.I forget to change my DTP to RT mode.later I changed it assigned it and re scheduld it due t osome problem I have deleted my demon ,by default it got assigned to unassigned nodes daemon. now I have deleted my infopackage and changed the status in DTP to standard started loading existing data in PSA , Now when I recreate infopacakge and when I click on assign button I am getting dump stating that
ERROR INSERT IPAK FACTORY.. I have searched for notes and it is in german language stating that will get rectified in SP11. SP11 is not avaibale in market place. Did anybody faced this type of problem ? any ideas ?

seems relevant no harm in doanloading the correction instructions using
transaction SNOTE -->download note.
If that doesnt work or fit your bill ,you can RESET the implementation of your note(reverting back to original)
might worth giving try.

RDA method to extract MAster Data from R/3

We need to implement the way to extract the Master Data from R/3 As soon as it available in R/3, but it's not like the new MAster Data is loaded in R/3 every 5 minutes, it's more like 3 o 4 times a month and i thought about RDA method, just wanted to see you opinion on wheather it is a good option for such an infrequent loads to BW
Does this DAEMON eats a lot of system resources? Pleas if the answer could be provided by someone who actually use RDA, it be great!

Hi,
We use RDA for systems where the load is very frequent, but a Process Chain would do the required in your case as the data gets updated only a few times in a month.
RDA will be occupied in the Background Process, so that would create some problems. And it keeps on chiecking for new data.
I feel its unnecessary. So, go for Process Chains

RDA Issue for Datasource 0FI_GL_4

Hello Gurus,
I want to implement RDA using datasource 0FI_GL_4.
1. This datasource in R/3 is not R/3 enabled. I checked this in se11 --> ROOSOURCE ->Execute> 0FI_GL_4.
The field REALTIME is not enabled.
2. I am trying to create Web service source system. Whenevr I am going to Web service and by right clicking on it, its showing message that this system is already existed.
3. Please provide me with step by step information.
I referred a blog of Kamaljeet Singh too.
Kindly let me know how to make this datasource as RDA enabled.

Hi Sonu,
please create an infopackage with update option initialisation without data transfer.
Run this Infopackage so that delta is initialized without data transfer and then create an infopackage for delta and u can see the real time check box available for input.
if u have done this and even then u face the same problem please try this
check whether u have any other realtime inpofackege for the same datasource.
if u dont have any such, then try this it might work out.
i did the same when i faced same problem, after creating the DTP and initialising the delta ,just come out of RSA1 and goto modelling workbench again try to create an infopackage. this worked for me.
this is an unexplainable solution.
