RDA Requirements

Dear Gurus,
I currently have an ECC 5.0 R/3 system connected to BW 3.5 and running perfectly on major business areas like sales, inventory, purchasing, FI/COPA etc.
I am in the process of implementing BI 7.0 as a separate server connected to the same ECC 5.0 R/3 system and intend to use the same datasources currently linked to the BW 3.5 system.
The requirement is that we will be expensively using RDA for the BI 7.0 extraction and current PI_BASIS component in R/3 is 2004_1_640 at level 10. I suppose this level does not support RDA and I need to upgrade PI_BASIS to the next version.
The question is would it affect the existing data sources and delta which are already mapped to the BW 3.5 server if I upgrade the PI_BASIS plugin to a version that supports RDA on the R/3 source swystem?

Proceeding is as follows (SPS8 is recommended):
a.) Set field ROOSOURCE-REALTIME for respective DataSource (per customer ABAP report)
b.) Replicate DataSource
c.) Create DeltaInit InfoPackage and execute
d.) Create Transformation and DTP to a DataStore Object (if applicable)
e.) Create a daemon in Real-Time Monitor (Transaction RSRDA)
f.) Locate your DataSource in the 'Not assigned' part of the tree structure
g.) Assign InfoPackage and DTP to daeomon (via context menu on the DataSource)
h.) Start the daemon
3)Why only ODS is used to load for REAL TIME datasources and not INFOCUBES.
==> Since data is immediately available for reporting and we have an open request we have a specific update processing for the data target (with a special DTP). This has currently only been implemented for DataStore Object.
4)Can generic datasources be built as REAL TIME datasources.

Abt the persmission i dont know where to look.Be sure your applmgr user has w/r permission to related path, also be sure /tmp and RDA log location

what is process need to follow if I want enhance fields to dso which is using loading process as RDA. and what is process follow while moving to production and what is process I need historical loads for rda dso.

Whats your data flow?
Assuming as source field might be exist at source/psa.
at Dev system you can add required info object to DSO.
do the proper transformations from source.
if you at PSA/source there is no historic data then delete psa/dso data.
Load historical data from source to psa and then dso..further.
at prod. Stop DSO data flow process chain.delete delta pointer at data source level.
move your changes to prod.
load full load.
run init info pack without data.
set delta pointer and continue your loads.
At DSO level data deletion not mandatory if your dso key fig are over write option. But memory wise better to delete old data and reload historic data.
Think twice and follow your actions.

How to reorganise a RDA application without getting error RSSTATMAN042?

Hallo RDA experts,
according to this [presentation|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40784126-7503-2b10-b586-f6d5acd41f60] SAP wants us to reorganise a RDA application frequently (see slide 37): "Data has to be deleted frequently from u201EReal-Time Data Acquisitionu201C DataStore Object to avoid
redundant data". Another reason for reorganisation would be the lousy performance of DSO objects...
Here we go again: after having transfered the RDA data to the cube and deleted them from the RDA-DSO the next daemon run will cause this error message:
Real-time upload not possible; request xyz must first be passed
Message no. RSSTATMAN042
where xyz is the ID of the last processed RDA PSA request. Also after an additional deletion of the PSA table this error is appearing (with xyz = 0).
I think it's not the right approach to reorganise manually at regular intervals - what is your solution for this task? Did you also experience this error message? We have BI 7.0, SP 18.

In the monitor: real-time data acquisition (transaction RSCRT), the daemons that are currently in the system are displayed in a tree structure.
It also contains the monitor functions for processing the daemons and the InfoPackages. You can create, stop, and delete daemons and you can execute other functions for the functions. For InfoPackages, you can start, stop, or cancel data transfer, among other things, as well as assign a daemon.
Functions
Overview of the daemons
Below a daemon, the InfoPackages are displayed that are assigned to a daemon and that are controlled by it. Below an InfoPackage, the ODS objects are displayed that are supplied by this InfoPackage. Below the ODS objects, the requests for the current and last day are displayed that have supplied the ODS objects with data. The legend provides you with information on the navigation options in the overview of the daemons, and also on the symbols for the various levels of the overview. You can update the overview using Extras ® Refresh.
Daemon
The real-time data acquisition daemon is a background process that processes the InfoPackages assigned to it. It receives information from the InfoPackage as to when and how often the data is to be extracted, which data targets are to be supplied, when a request is to be closed and a new one opened. It also receives information on the definition of the data transfer and on the status.
The daemon works on the basis of the list of the DataSources assigned to it via the InfoPackage, extracts the data from the source systems and transfers it to the PSA table and the ODS objects. It informs the Service API in the source system when the data for the source system has been successfully updated. If the PSA request has completed successfully and a new delta request has been opened, the updated data is deleted from the delta queue of the source system.
Several daemons that work on disjunctive combinations of DataSources can be used. If several DataSources supply one ODS object, the same daemon has to be used for these DataSources, that is one ODS object can always only be supplied.
The daemon runs in a permanent background job and only switches to a "sleep" mode after performing a data transfer if there is currently no other data in the delta queue. The RFC connection to the source systems is maintained. This implies that a permanent RFC connection is required between every source system and the SAP BW for real-time data transfer.
So that not too much main memory is used and the RFC connection does not have to exist for too long, the daemon ends every hour on its own and schedules again, so that the main memory can be released again and a new RFC connection is opened.?? This happens without the real-time requests having to be closed.

Anyone have experience putting the same DSO target in one RDA daemon twice?
I have a requirement to update one target from two sources in RDA. It seems that one of it always end in error.

Do the below steps:-
first insert a table ,and create context according to ur need.
now
1.right click the table and then u get Insert Grouped Column .
2.this will show u two options
a)TableColumn
b)TableColumn Group
3)select table column group
4)now right click on column group which generated in step 3 and Select Insert Column according to ur need(means how much columns u need)
5)now in this new column right click and get Insert cell editor and choose whatever u want.
means:-
Right click on the table-->Select Insert Grouped Column -> Table Group Column
Right click on the Table Group Column Created-->Select Insert Column-> Table Column..
Repeat the above step.
Right Click on the Table column->Insert Table Cell Editor.

RDA method to extract MAster Data from R/3

We need to implement the way to extract the Master Data from R/3 As soon as it available in R/3, but it's not like the new MAster Data is loaded in R/3 every 5 minutes, it's more like 3 o 4 times a month and i thought about RDA method, just wanted to see you opinion on wheather it is a good option for such an infrequent loads to BW
Does this DAEMON eats a lot of system resources? Pleas if the answer could be provided by someone who actually use RDA, it be great!

We use RDA for systems where the load is very frequent, but a Process Chain would do the required in your case as the data gets updated only a few times in a month.
RDA will be occupied in the Background Process, so that would create some problems. And it keeps on chiecking for new data.
I feel its unnecessary. So, go for Process Chains

Master data extraction using RDA???

Hi all,
i 'have an idea on how to extract transaction data in a regular intervals using RDA Concept.
But i have a requirement in my project is there any way to extract master data(if any changes happen in Master Data in ECC immediately available to BW)
in a regular intervals using RDA.
if the solution is there using RDA please guide me otherwise suggest me the Best solution for this.

yes it is possible to extract master data using RDA mechanism.. Your datasource should be RDA enabled, for which, you need to have access key - if the data source is standard datasource.
In generic datasources, you can mark it as "Real Time enable"..

Silly question .. Sorry to ask you as I am not aware of this.. we have webservices in Source System, but no system is attached. To make it enable to use Web Services, how to procede further.. to complete RDA using Web Service. Also is it required to take help for Basis for working with Webservices.. plz explain me in detail

Hi..
Insert the required process type into the process chain by using drag and drop or by double-clicking.
In the next dialog box, select a process variant and confirm your entry.
                            a.      To create a new process variant, enter a name for the variant and choose   Create.
                            b.      In the resulting dialog box, enter the description of the process variant and choose Next.
The maintenance screen for the process variant appears.
                            c.      In the variant maintenance, select the Data Sources for which real-time data acquisition should be started or stopped for one or more Info Packages for real-time data acquisition.
                            d.      Save the variant and go back to the previous screen.
                            e.      In the resulting dialog box, confirm the insertion of the process variant into your process chain.
Start Real-Time Data Acquisition (RDA) Load Process
If the InfoPackages selected in the process variant are not yet assigned to a daemon, the system selects one or more suitable daemons and assigns the corresponding DataSources to them. When searching for a suitable daemon, the system proceeds as follows:
                            a.      Assignment based on the InfoProvider (data target)
Different DataSources (and therefore InfoPackages) that define values for the same InfoProvider must be assigned to the same daemon.
                            b.      Assignment to the daemon that was last assigned to the DataSource (and therefore to the InfoPackage)
The system stores the information about the assignment of a DataSource to a daemon when the daemon assignment is deleted. This information can therefore be used later for another assignment to a daemon.
                            c.      Assignment to the daemon to which the fewest DataSources are assigned
If multiple daemons are possible here, the assignment is made to the daemon with the lowest number
If there is not yet a daemon available, the system creates one and assigns the DataSources to the daemon. If the DataSources are already assigned to a daemon, this daemon is used.
The data transfer processes assigned to the DataSources are also assigned to the daemon.
If all the assignments have been made and the daemon or daemons are not running at the time of process execution, the process chain schedules the daemons for immediate use and the process variant ends.
If an Infopakage selected in the process variant is assigned to a daemon that is already running, the steps described here are not applicable and not performed.
   Stop Real-Time Data Acquisition (RDA) Load Process
Running data transfers for the Info Packages and corresponding data transfer processes selected in the process variant are terminated.
The open PSA, DTP and possibly change log requests are closed (if the daemon is running, after ending the data transfer; directly if the daemon is not running).
The system then deletes the assignments of the corresponding Data Sources to the daemon.
As mentioned above, the system stores the information about the assignment of the DataSource to the daemon, and this information can be used again later when the daemon is again assigned.
If an InfoPackage selected in the process variant is not assigned to a daemon, the steps described here are not applicable and not performed.

Can i make xml data into sap bi as a realtime enabled.
My requriement is that i need to do real time the web based data.

10gR2 RDBMS required packages - Solaris patch 112760 is not installed

Hi,
Run RDA before 10gR2 installation:
Test [ FAILED ] : Patch 112760 is not installed = adequate
Trying to apply this patch:

Patchadd is terminating.
From the readme file, it is trying to apply a patch for a C compiler, which you don't have on this system.

Not sure why oracle would require this patch when the system doesn't have a licensed compiler on it. Can anybody explain why this is the case?
According to Oracle, patch 112760 for Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 is required for:
PL/SQL native compilation, Pro*C/C++, Pro*FORTRAN, Oracle Call Interface, Oracle C++ Call Interface, Oracle XML Developer's Kit (XDK).
Unfortunately I am not sure if I should be concerned with this particular patch.

I have many ORA-7445 in RMAN ( CATALOG DATABASE ) with native database.
The DATABASE is also in AL32UTF8 character set.
I received the same stupid support answers.
Can you made the following command on the core.
plimit process_id
and
pmap on the core file.
For an obvous raison the stack is limitied to 32M on solaris it's part of the Oracle excutable
Check the stack process limit:

Oracle executable limite the stack size to 32M even it can grow up to 65M.
Its father listener has n't set this limit in the case 65M.

Configuring requirement : ordered item to absorb cost of free goods

Hello Friends,
I need to configure this in SAP SD.
The main item should accumulate the cost of the free goods.
I have set the cumulative indicator and deactivated pring for this item.
Do i still need to configure the stock value for the free goods as cost free item? Or is this step only applicable for
another scenario, like,
If I were to activate Pricing such that free goods is displayed as subitem and VPRS configured as cost and discount set to 100%
1. Set Item category to TANN using FREE usage AND
2. use condition type RL00 with requirement 55.
3. use pricing type B.

Deploying only Acrobat XI Pro CC package w/ Enterprise Serial # - Still getting "Sign In Required"

Downloaded Creative Cloud Packager to create a serialized package of only Acrobat XI Pro. I further customize the deployment via Adobe Customization Wizard XI, but did not re-enter the serial number (as suggested). I am able to deploy from the Exceptions folder with the following cmd, msiexec /i "%inst%AcroPro.msi" PATCH="%inst%Updates\AcrobatUpd11006.msp" TRANSFORMS="%inst%Transforms\en_US.mst" /qn. Upon launching Acrobat, I receive the a pop-up message, "Sign In Required. Siging in with an Adobe ID and registering Creative Cloud Membership Enterprise is required within 32767 days otherwise it will stop working." I don't understand why the serial number and Adobe ID I enterred when packaging did not carry over. Any insight would be appreciated.
