RDBMS PATCHES FOR 8.49

Hi,
we are installing DB 10g R2 for peoplesoft 8.49. In Title: Operating System, RDBMS & Additional Component Patches Required for Installation on PT 8.49
Topic: CC - Platforms
it is said to apply :
Windows platform specific patch
bundles are available but the patch
number varies based on platform:
For ORACLE on
10gR2 10.2.0.1 WINDOWS 32 BIT
use Patch# 5500927
But I can not find it on METALINK not with this number 5500927 not among RDBMS for 10.2.0.1.
Can you please help me ?
Thank you.

I found it onto the Metalink website.
On metalink, click on "Patches & Updates" tab, then "Simple Search", then search by "Patch number/name", then paste your patch number in the field, choose Platform "Microsoft Windows (32-bits)", and lastly click on GO button.
It should return to you the patch as well (41Mb).
Nicolas.

  • Where can I get the patch for Oracle JMS to work with RDBMS 9.2.0.1

    Hi,
In the following extract from Oracle documentation the patch is mentioned that needs to be applied.
"You must apply a server-side patch for Oracle JMS, which ships with Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.3) and the OTN release of OC4J, to work with an RDBMS 9.2.0.1 database. This patch is documented as bug 2513629; see the Metalink Web site or contact Oracle support for more information. However, it is strongly recommended that users move to RDBMS 9.2.0.2 when it is available. Users do not need to apply any server-side database patches when running with RDBMS 9.2.0.2."
Where I can get this patch?
Is it RDBMS patch or OC4J patch?
    I don't have access to a Metalink.
    Thanks a lot,
    Andrei

Check out the configuration on the mapping. There you can create a data file. Do that and fill out the other parameters for the bad and discard file in that node.

  • 10.1.0.5 Patch for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 1

    Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what is the patch number for 10.1.0.5 Patch for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 1?
This is a Oracle Application Server and not Oracle Database server.
I tried searching on Metalink but not able to find it.
    Thanks in advance!
    Avinash.

10.1.0.5 is not a version number for an OAS. It is only a version number for RDBMS.
If you are running OAS 10.1.2.x with the Identity Managmenet/SSO (OID Server), & elected to have it install the Metadata Repository database for you, this was a RDBMS release below 10.1.0.5. The OAS patch to 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3 required the RDMBS be updated to 10.1.0.5 first. This is the standard 10.1.0.5 update for your platform.
    use Advanced Search on Metalink
To find the OAS 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3 patch set, search for Oracle Fusion Middleware Server. Release 10.1.2.2 and 10.1.2.3. Look for the decriptions like "PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10.1.2.3 PATCHSET RELEASE" OR "PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2"
To find the RDBMS 10.1.0.5 patch, search for RDBMS Server, Release 10.1.0.5. Look for the Description containing something like "10.1.0.5 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER"
The patch number is different per platform, so I can't tell you the exact #s without more info (OS)

  • What is the correct Patch for Oracle 11gR1 to be at Oracle 11.1.0.7 Solaris

What is the difference between the following types of patches for Solaris 10.0.9 64 bit? to be at 11.1.0.7 on Solaris 64bit OS version 10/9 ?
    * RDBMS Server
    * Oracle Database Family

Can't make it easy, for you shall then forget that easily.
To start with, you may try to understand the difference between
    1) a patch and a patchset.
    2) different flavours of patch - one-off, CPU, PSU
then the answer for your question shall be as clear as water (not the one from the oil sands tailing :) )
    Good luck.
    Cheers.

  • Oracle Patch for 10.2

    Hi,
We were installed Oracle 10.2 on windows OS with  X64 processor.
To apply the patches we have downloaded :
5103679_4: ORACLE RDBMS Patch 10.2.0.4 Windows Server on x64 64bit
which is around 9 KB in size. But when we unzipped the same, there is no setup file to install the patch.
Please advise us on downloading the correct DVD for installing the patch after the Oracle 10.2 installation.

  • Has someone applied the one off patch for-ONS bug 5749953 SIGBUS ERROR

    Hello all,
    Env:: 10g on Soalris
I need to apply the one-off patch for
Bug:5749953 -- ONS SIGBUS ERROR AFTER INSTALL PATCHSET 10.2.0.3 FOR CRS
Usually for any CPU we issue opatch apply from the patch directory.
and its mentioned in the readme.html as well.
But for this one off patch, there isn't anything mentioned in the readme.html.
    All it says is
    #  6. Patch the Files
    #    6.1 Patch the CRS home files
    #    After unlocking any protected files and saving configuration settings
    #    you are now ready to run opatch using the following command.
    #    As the Oracle Clusterware (CRS) software owner;
    #    % opatch apply -local -oh <CRS_HOME>
    #    Note: In configuration A, invoke this only on one node.
    #    6.2 Patch the RDBMS home files.
    #    Alert: The RDBMS portion can only be applied to an RDBMS home that
    #          has been upgraded to 10.2.0.3.0.
    #    For additional information please read Note.363254.1;
    #    Applying one-off Oracle Clusterware patches in a mixed version home
    #    environment
    #    As the RDBMS software owner;
    #    % opatch apply custom/server/5749953 -local -oh <RDBMS_HOME>
    #    Note: In configuration A, invoke this only on one node.Could someone let me know from where i should give 'opatch apply' if patch.zip files are unzipped in /export/home/oracle/5749953  ? TIA,
    JJ

The patch can always be installed in 2 ways.
    1. Do a cd and then run opatch
    cd <patchlocation>
    opatch apply
    2. Else specify the patch location as an argument
opatch apply <full path to the patch i.e the one you do cd above> ...
Both the above styles yield same result.

  • RSF patches for oracle 10gAS

    Hi,
    My current Environment:
    Applications: R12.1.1
    DataBase: 11.2.0.2
    Linux: 5.3 OEL 32 Bit.
I am referring to Doc "Upgrading OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 437878.1] "
To upgrade my R12.1.1 to R12.1.3.
In the above mentioned doc do i have to apply RSF patches. Are they must ??
In case if i already upgraded my appl. to R12.1.3 can they be applied later???
    Thanks,
    Taher

Oracle suggested to apply patch 3559326, this is RDBMS patch and its inlucded in 10.2.0.3 and 11.1.0.6 Bug 3559326 - Pro C errors for "naked" type declarations [ID 3559326.8], still do we need to apply patch to 11g R2..?, but in document saying that apply to the OracleAS 10.1.2 Oracle Home. , its confusing here, can you clarify me on this .You still need to apply the patch regardless of your database version as you have to apply it to (OracleAS 10.1.2 Oracle Home).
    Thanks,
    Hussein

Just have a look to the readme file inside the patch... it is RAC specific, so if if you do not have RAC no need to apply it.

  • Recommended patches for 10G OLAP?

    Hi,
Can anyone giude or suggest which patches one should install to view and use the latest OLAP suite features properly.
Currently I have installed the following :
    1. 10G database 10.1.03
    2. Patchset 4 for 10.1.03 (4074232)
I also plan to install 10G app server, then install the latest 9.2.1 Web Agent Patch (4194619) , to get web agent up and running.
Do I need to install any other patches? I tried installing 10.1.03B patch, but got a message saying it conflicts with patch 4074232.
At this stage I am looking to import Express 6.3.4 Databases, to upgrade an existing Web Agent App, (which I had successfully done at one stage using 9iR2, and also to investigate the use of compressed composites, on some of the existing cubes.
    Thanks,
    Imran Shah
    Ioppolo & Associates

Since this is windows, you can only have the OLAP C patch
or the RDBMS patch installed. One will overwrite the
other since the OLAP patch is not part of the RDBMS
patch 4. If you want to use OLAP, I recommend installing
    the C patch.

  • Patch for Apache crashes ?

    Hi,
In our production environment we use Portal 3.0.9.8.0 and the 9iAS is on a win nt 4.0 server and the 8.1.7.0.0 rdbms is on another
win nt server (3-tier). Other products on the 9iAS are Discoverer and Web Forms and Reports.
The apache webserver is crashing frequently. First we received a WSADuplicateSocket error.
After searching on metalink we found a workaround that described to exclude mod__ose.conf in the oracle%.conf file. (e.g [#] include mod__ose.conf ). After implementing this workaround, the errors concerning the WSADuplicateSocket disappeared.
But now after browsing a few minutes apache still crashes. Now we receive another error message:

Apache tries to create a new child process but fails.
My question is: If there is a patch for these apache problems ? Who does apache works after the patch is applied ?
    Best regards,

  • Rdbms patch

    Hi hussein,
After applying the CU3 patch for R1211, it instructed to apply an "rdbms patch" 7330434.
Can I apply this using the "applmgr" owner/os_user? or to "oramgr" ?
It also asked me to use "opatch", but when I tried to run opatch it is not found.
    How do I install opatch?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Add Opatch to the $PATH manually or set it in the oracle's user profile as follows:
$ export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch:$PATH Note: 414449.1 - ERROR: "opatch: not found" or " 'opatch' is not recognized as an internal or external command"

  • AAC/MPEG-4 support patch for abcde

I got bored to day and made up this patch for abcde that adds support for AAC using the M4A extension.
It uses FAAC as the encoder and also patches abcde to version 2.2.3
I have not tested it yet so bear with me...i'll post my test results later.
You'll have to manually add the "M4AENCOPTS=" variable to the config
    usage is: abcde -o m4a
UPDATED: fixed a plethora of typos
another side note is the fact FAAC must be compiled with mpeg-4 support, the Archlinux package for FAAC isn't, so therefore this could be a problem unless you compile FAAC yourself. I submitted a feature request to get mp4 support added.
the following is the 2.2.0 to 2.2.3 update+AAC patch. I will submit a AAC patch for the newest release to the developers of abcde later on.
