RDS support for Eclipse 3.2

Hello, All.
I'm having some problems getting RDS to work with Eclipse
3.2. Searching the web I discovered the RDS in the ColdFusion
Extensions for Flex Builder 2 doesn't work with 3.2, so I am
re-installing Ecliplse 3.1.
Any idea when Adobe will have it working for 3.2?

Hi David,
as far as I heard on the DSAG (German SAP User Group) NWDI info day this will not be the case before the New York release which will come late next year.
Best regards,
Birgit

  • Support for Eclipse 3.1M1

    Hi,
Does anyone know which Eclipse version the EP6 SP2 (Eclipse plugin v1.2) plugins is working with? I can not find any SAP note or document about which Eclipse version the plugins work with.
Currently Im running the Eclipse 3.0 with jdk 1.3 and 1.4 which works fine. The thing is that I would like to use the UML2 plugins which does not work for me in the Eclipse 3.0 version but in Eclipse 3.1 version.
Thanks for your attention and any help,
    Raz

    Hello Rasmus,
the Plugins for EP6 SP2 were the last ones that were released independently of SAPs own eclipse-based IDE, the NetWeaver Developer Studio.
The plugins are now (and will be in the future) released as part of DevStudio. This means that there won't be any "standalone" plugins for eclipse any more (and thus no eclipse 3.x support for the "old" portal plugins version 1.2)

  • Support for Eclipse?

Will there also be an JavaFX PlugIn for Eclipse?

JavaFx is supposed to compete with adobe flex and Microsoft silverlight. Flex has a pretty decent IDE support, Flex builder. Microsoft with its developer centric approach , is bound to come up with excellent IDE support. With majority of java developers inclined to using eclipse, what do we have in store?
Eclipse is an excellent IDE no doubt, but on GUI front, it falls flat on its face. For example, to build swing/SWT applications, we have to rely on plugins. Cant a decent plugin be already there in eclipse, at least in the most recent version 3.4??
For Java EE applications, including normal jsp as well as jsf, Eclipse provides a pseudo graphical interface. Developers have to drap and drop jsf components, which are boxed and boxed deeply.
Will JavaFx have same fate in eclipse??
Compare this IDE support with visual studio, in fact compare it with VS2005, not even VS2008! Who wins hands down? we all know the answer. no wonder , VS users are so productive.
the problem is not with new java related technologies, but the knowledge is fractured and distributed all over the place. where as on MS front, one IDE, one prominient language, one way of development.
Try out VS , not to switch over, but to see what the competitor has produced and to develop a poduct for java community which atleast gives us an edge!!

  • Support for Eclipse 3.0.1

We tested NitroX as a plugin to Eclipse 3.0.1, and it works fine.
I would not manually copy /paste the Nitrox plugin into the plugins
folder for Eclipse, but use the NitroX installer and choose
the option to install as a plugin.

Hi there,Will the next maintenance release of Nitrox include Eclipse 3.0.1? If
not, can we use Eclipse 3.0.1 with Nitrox (ie copy the Nitrox plugin

  • Support for Eclipse TPTP

Hello all! Quick question -- are there any plans to support integration with TPTP from OEPE? It would be really nice to be able to profile code running on WLS if both TPTP and OEPE plugins are installed. As-is today, this doesn't seem to be straightforward to set up.
If there aren't already plans in place, is there a place where we can make formal feature requests?

We've had this request before and we are already tracking it for future feature consideration. I added your vote to the tracker.
    Thanks for your input!

Any idea when NDS will support Eclipse 3.+?
There are several useful plugins that only work with Eclipse 3.0 or higher.
    Thanks!

  • RDS plug-in for Eclipse

I've been using the RDS plug-in for Eclipse 3.1 for a number
of months, but now that Eclipse 3.2 is out and so many plug-ins
require it (such as SQL Explorer and Quick REx), I really want to
switch to it. However, RDS doesn't work on it and I have yet to get
FTP to work either. Is there any chance that Adobe's RDS plug-in
will be updated soon to work on 3.2?

Nevermind, I think I found it here:

  • RDS trouble with CF plugin for eclipse 3.3

This is probably not new, I have installed the plug-in from
Adobe and from cfreport.org. I have done a manual install, followed
the directions for both sites, read all available forums , but
cannot get this to work. I am working my way through some paid for
video tutorials, so I would like to be able to finish.
I can not get RDS to work, which is part of the ColdFusion
Plug-in for Eclipse. The Eclipse version is 3.3.2. I have two
machines, both Windows XP Pro SP2. I have checked firewall settings,
they are both company machines, so I was able to grant exceptions
to Eclipse and my localhost. I have checked all the settings on my
local CF8 server. Obviously I run CFEclipse, and other plug-ins
    include SVN and Flex.
Although, I can probably do the tutorials and skip the RDS
part, and still get something out of it. I would like to see if I
can resolve this, plus , just came off of a month of bug hunting,
so I'm in that mood. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Steve

    Click Window > Preferences
Then click the arrow next to Adobe to expand it.
    Now click on RDS Configuration.
Next click on the localhost and adjust your settings to
    reflect the server settings.
After you change the settings click Test Connection to see if
    it is working correctly.
Then click Apply and close the Preferences window and all
    should be good.

  • ADF BC support in Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) 11g/12c ?

    Hi All ,
I was having a look at a few demos on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/eclipse/demos-082305.html wherein I could figure out that there is cool support for EJB/JPA , ADF Faces , ADF Bindings etc using OEPE 12c.
Was wondering if there is support for ADF Business Components or is it planned for a later release ?
Current Business Services Support : http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/technology/products/enterprise-pack-for-eclipse/bus-services/OEPE-BusinessServices.html

We currently don't offer support for Oracle ADF BC in Eclipse and while we might consider this for a future release this is not planned right now.

  • Sub-reports DO NOT WORK in Crystal for Eclipse v2

    Hi,<br />
    <br />
We have recently upgraded from Crystal JRC to CR4E 12.2.202. Our application updates the JDBC connections at runtime to supply credentials.<br />
    <br />
Everything seems to be working except sub reports.  When using sub reports we get the error shown below.<br />

On reading other forum posts, the top error about PropertyResourceBundle just seems to be about trying <br/>

We raised a support issue on this and was given a work around.
With Crystal for Eclipse, you can no longer use "dynamically" generated sub report parameters, you must manually add the parameter to the sub report and apply a record level selection formula.
    Steps for the work around:
    1. Open the sub report and manually add a parameter field in the field explorer.  You can call it whatever you want, but make sure the data type is correct.  It should match the datatype that will be passed in by the main report.
    2. Click Report -> Selection formula -> Record
    3. Enter in a formula like this: {MYTABLE.ID} = {?subreportparam}
    4. Save and close
    5. Go back to the main report
    6. Right click the sub report -> Change sub report links
    7. Drag a report field into the fields to link list
    7. In sub report parameter field to use, select you're newly created parameter and click OK

  • Problem with Crystal reports for Eclipse and Postgres-databases

    Hi,
Is there a known problem when using a PostgreSQL-database to create a report with Crystal reports Plugin? When I drag a table, then occurs a error-windows, that the object can't  created.
I have found a workaround for solving the problem. After new installing Eclipse Platform Version: 3.4.1 Build id: M20080911-1700 and Crystal reports Plugin 11.8.6.v1371 with JRE 1.6.0_01 the error message allways occurs, when I select a table from a PostgreSQL database (Version 8.2). After restarting eclipse you see the last selected tables in the field explorer and you can drag the table fields in the report. A repeated choice of the same table causes aliases for the table in the field explorer after restarting eclipse.
    Error.log:
    eclipse.buildId=M20080911-1700

    Best Regards
    Arnold

Your issue appears to be a Crystal Reports for Eclipse report designer thing, and not a JRC runtime thing.  The JRC runtime does support Type 4 JDBC drivers, but all modern PostgreSQL drivers are Type 4.
The current report designer is more restrictive than the JRC runtime - and PostgreSQL, being not on the supported platforms list, has never been tested with the embedded designer.
Unless there's anybody out there with experience with PostgreSQL and CR4E designer, who would be willing to share their experiences.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Using .csv files in Crystal Reports for Eclipse?

I recently installed crystal reports for Eclipse and much of the basic CR functionality seems to be there, but then I added a .csv file as an ODA flat file data source and I can see it in my "Data Source Explorer", but can not seem to drag it into my report to actually report on the data in this file. Am I missing some basic step?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Not all data sources available via the Eclipse Database Explorer component are supported with Crystal Reports for Eclipse.
CSV data sources currently isn't on the [Supported Platforms doc|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20c69834-cfc4-2b10-da81-960222254295]
