Re: Acrobat 9 - Attach to email, file name as subject line?

Where has this feature gone???
It's a simply time saver that our studio of over 40 relied upon everyday, and surprise-surprise, we outlay heaps more money for upgrades and yet again a feature has been forgotten since the previous version.
MY GOD THIS GIVES ME THE *****!!!!
Surely a patch to fix it wouldn't take Adobe any time at all.
Does anyone know a way around it??

    I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.

  • Email response with changed subject line, disappears.

    I "replied" to an email, but changed the subject line and then entered "send". The email disappeared. It did not appear in the sent folder. Was this because I changed the subject line?

    Welcome to  Discussions!
    Check your Junk folder. Something about the email is probably making the junk filter think it's just junk. If it's in there, you can mark it 'not junk' to help the filter learn it's a valid email.

  • Setting up the File Name of email Attachment from Received File Name

    Hello All,
    I have to send the Received File in attachment to an Email if there is any exception. Here I can attach the file, but I cannot set the file name of attachment as the Received File Name. Is there anyway of doing this without using custom pipeline component.
    Here I am using the Orchestration and SMTP Adapter.Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    It might work if you use a custom pipeline component on your send port and in the Execute method populate the MIME.FileName property of the body part.
    Something like:
    public IBaseMessage Execute(IPipelineContext pc, IBaseMessage inmsg)
    string filename = inmsg.Context.Read("ReceivedFileName", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/file-properties");
    inmsg.BodyPart.PartProperties.Write( "FileName", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/2003/mime-properties", "filename);
    return inmsg;
    You can take reference from similar post here
    SMTP - Setting attachment filename
    Anther good article with MIME is here
    Setting attachment filename with the SMTP Adapter
    For MIME case your SMTP message construct statement would be like below
    multipartMessage.MessagePart_1= InMSG;
    multipartMessage.MessagePart_2="This is message part2 as a string";
    multipartMessage(SMTP.Subject) ="Email From Dynamic Port";
    multipartMessage(SMTP.From) ="[email protected]";
    multipartMessage(SMTP.SMTPHost) ="yoursmypserver.com";
    multipartMessage.MessagePart_2(MIME.FileName) = "Attachment_Name";
    multipartMessage(SMTP.SMTPAuthenticate) =0;
    Thanks

  • File name as subject in email

    Is there a way to make XI Pro automatically insert the pdf file name as the subject when emailing a pdf from Acrobat XI Pro like the older versions did?  I've tried installing Email_(file_name_as_subject).sequ but I get an error message stating it "has the same filname as one that's already been imported" but the action does not show up on the "manage actions" list.

    Hi, I have the same problem as Alan L. Whenever I have a file open in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and click File-> Attach to Email it creates a new Outlook message and attaches the file but does not populate the subject line with the file name. The subject line is blank. I tried to email the same PDF file from Foxit Reader and it correctly populated the subject field with the file name.
    If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Michael

  • Dunning PDF email file name

    hi,
    i am executing Dunning letters through F150, and there is a functionality to send the letters to an email id.
    Problem is, earlier, the pdf file recieved in email had a descriptive file name , dunning.pdf.
    But now it is showing some system generated file name like, ATT3125.pdf, and it keeps changing everytime the email is sent. Please help..!!

    Hello Imran,
    If I am not wrong, the extension of dunning files is OTF and not PDF. (I too have faced it earlier)
    This happens when the format conversion is not configured correctly in SCOT.
    Specify the output format for SAP Scripts/SmartForms as PDF
    Preferably, Inform your Administrator to rectify the setting. That should solve your problem.

  • Tell a Friend emails sent using iPhoto--Subject Line

    I published two separate albums to my gallery using iPhoto (each with different names and password protected with different user names and passwords and hidden on my gallery page.)  I sent a tell a friend e-mail for each album to two different distribution lists (one to my side of the family, the other to my husband's side of the family.)  I also sent each e-mail to both me and my son as part of each distribution list.  My son and I each received the emails in Apple mail--on my iMac and his MacBook Pro.  I used the SAME SUBJECT in the Subject line on both "tell a friend" emails for the two different albums, and all information in each email was correct when I sent the emails:  Each had different album numbers in the link to the gallery page and the correct corresponding assigned username and password.
    We received both emails which appeared fine when viewed.  But once one album was accessed on the gallery page using one of the links, the text in the other email changed to the text in the other e-mail, including the username and password.
    I tested this by resending the tell a friend emails using different subject lines and did not have the problem.  Can anyone explain this?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    It is very slow and I can not find the way to customize the standard mail template.
    There is no way to customize that template. If it does not suit you needs send a regular email with the URL to the gallery in it.
    As far a slowness is concerned need more info on your setup. How much free space on the boot drive? How much memory? How many pictures in the library?
    from the other user the template is somehow corrupted
    Delete the Delete iPhoto preference file , com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in the User/Library/Preferences folder for that user, launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Do the templates work if you try the Tell a Friend from the gallery online?

  • Is it possible to add name to subject line when submitting a pdf form

    Hi,
    I have created a form with Live Cycle and added a button which submittingthe form as PDF. I was wondering is it possible to add staff name to the subject line just after Leave Request as seen in the picture below?
    Regards

    It is pretty easy to accomplish your requirement using scripts on a regular button rather than email submit button.
    Look at this amazing sample created by Paul which explains a number of ways to submit form data through email.

  • Java Mapping: payload as mail attachment and dynamic file name .

    Hi,
    I have written this piece of java code.
    The code includes XPATH for fetching dynamic filename and the copysource( in, out ) to copy the content of payload as mail attchment.

    In the above case.. look at "ItemDeliveryReferenceType="! ARN">DAL"

  • File name as command line option for multiple VM processes

    "-Xloggc:/tmp/gc.log" is the option I'd like to set, but every process will log to that file and even if we don't experience any concurrency issues the data still isn't useful because I can't tell which process did what.
    The island files are cleverly named to include their process number, can I do similar for command line options or will I be restricted to a single JVM?

    Online help (as of LabVIEW 7.0?), Index, Command Line, User-defined arguments - It will show you the following:
    You also can pass LabVIEW-defined or user-defined arguments when you launch LabVIEW from the command line. To pass user-defined arguments in the command line, enter two hyphens (--) surrounded by spaces before the set of user-defined arguments. LabVIEW does not use any arguments after the two hyphens to launch labview.exe. LabVIEW passes the arguments after the two hyphens to the block diagram of the VI you launch. Use the Application:Command Line Arguments property to read the user-defined command-line arguments passed when LabVIEW launches.
    For example, to launch mycool.vi and pass user-defined arguments, use the following command:
    c:\labview\la
    bview.exe c:\coolapp\mycool.vi -- 1000 sine
    On the block diagram of the mycool.vi, use the Application:Command Line Arguments property to read the 1000 and sine arguments you passed and handle the values.

    Try to save what?  The entire email message?  Somthing that is embedded in the email message?
    Anyway, why would you use Safari to access your email instead of Apple's Mail application?

  • How to automatically add file name to email subject line

    I just upgraded from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
    Previously, when I sent a form via email in outlook, the subject line of the email automatically filled the file name. With this new version, this no longer happens.
    Is there a setting that allows me to automatically fill the subject line of the pdf with the file name (or some way for me to set the subject line automaticallly)?  Most of my emailed pdf forms go to the same person with the same subject line.
    Thank you for your consideration!

    Unfortunately Adobe lacks the ability to control and access the email attachment file names.
    You can set a standard submit button url action to a mailto command string with a mailto:you[at]yourdomain.com&subject=Your+Custom+Subject+Here
    But you won't be able to know what the file name is to insert it into the subject.
    To have full control over the output, I suggest you submit the data or whole PDF to a server-side script, such as PHP or ASP.net.
    A script can can inject a field values into the custom SMTP email body, subject, recipient lists and attachment file name by parsing the submission or passing values via a Querystring.
    Visit pdfemail.net for online examples and more information on server-side scripting.

  • Acrobat 9 - Attach to email - missing subject line?

    I just upgraded to CS4 from CS3. In Acrobat 8 when I am viewing a PDF if I go to the File menu and select (Attach to Email) I am taken to my mail app and an email was created with the attachment and the subject line is filled in with the file name. With Acrobat 9 when I try to do the same thing it does not include the subject line. Is there some sort of preference I can change to get it to include a subject line?
    I send a lot of PDFs to customers and that feature in Acrobat 8 is a convenient time saver.
    Thanks.

    I have both versions on my computer because some of us have clients with deadlines and can't afford to spend hours trying to find out why new software isn't working the way it used to or should.
    I sometimes produce up to 50 pdf proofs a day from InDesign layouts that need to be emailed to my clients for review. It was so smooth to be able to just hit the button, have the pdf attach itself to a new email message WITH THE NAME OF THE EMAIL AUTOMATICALLY PLACED IN THE SUBJECT LINE, type in a small note and hit send. Now, thanks to some coding anomoly in 9.0 I have to remember to hit SaveAs BEFORE I hit the email button, select the name of the file, copy the name of the file, hit the email button, then paste the name of the file in the subject line.
    This wouldn't be so frustrating if I didn't literally have YEARS of being able to use that feature. Also, if even half the features Acrobat purports to have even worked consistently I could see tweaking it, but it's been known in the industry since day one that most of the extraneous "features" don't even work like they're supposed to.
    Portable Document Format was a brilliant concept and works beautifully as a way of consistently displaying and printing layouts across platforms, it's vastly superior to Powerpoint for presentations when the original design can be created in a layout program. Unfortunately Adobe decided to attach features to it that weren't properly tested so it's clunky to actually use, many of the features don't behave consistently or at all, and people can't create their presentations in it so they turn to Powerpoint because MS figured out how to make it easy to create simple presentations right in the application. Through the years, every time I've tried to use the features in Acrobat I'm left disappointed by the outcome and so now it's reputation as anything beyond a wonderful prepress and proofing tool is tarnished.
    Also, on a Mac I don't know what kind of security issues could be in 8.0 that would leave me exposed. I open my own pdfs, files sent by my clients and others that I trust only. How is someone going to sneak past my firewall just because I'm running 8.0?
    How am I exposed?

  • Map File name in BPM to email response

    I have a scenario I am working:
    File FTP -> FTP -> RFC
    The file is deleted off initial server and pulled into our landscape to Processing server, then processed into SAP via RFC.  I wish for an email response to send on pass/fail of interface.
    This is all done and executing as expected with pass/fail message in body of email, received in inbox - no problem.
    However, one thing is missing....
    When the file is first processed, the File name is deleted and renamed with a time and date stamp (not ideal, but I got this working) is added when the file is created on receiving server.  I am using a BPM to do the file send mapping and email response.
    I wish to map the initial file name to the new file name, and then process then add time/date stamp when placed into Archive folder.  I would like the email to have the original name oif the file in the Subject line of the email, if possible....
    Has anyone done something similar?  Can you point me in the right direction?

    Hi,
    You can do this using Adapter specific identifiers in receiver CC. You can get the same filename as your source file.
    Blog: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Go thro this thread as well for more details: Target file of the same name as source file
    Then in BPM, add one more send step for a file receiver CC and place the file in the archive directory with timestamp.
    Regards,
    P.Venkat.
