RE-ACTIVATE DROID X

i have some pics on my old voyager, that aren't on the sd card & will need to activate the old phone to email them to myself.
so the question is, when i re-activate the dx, will i start at the beginning again & have to redo pop3/gmail etc or will it be as i left it?

  • Can't activate DROID Maxx

    My DROID Maxx arrived in the mail yesterday, and I was unable to activate it.  I turned off my old phone, turned off everything on my old phone that uses data, and I was still unable to active my DROID with four bars.  Is there any sort of online activation that I can use when I have the DROID plugged into my PC, or is there something else I can do to activate it?     Plugging the Droid Maxx into the computer is not going to activate it. On the Verizon website after you sigh in. Scroll down to a column on the lower left where you'll see Activate or Switch Device. You might be able to activate from there, on two previous occasions it didn't work for me, but you may have better luck.
    If that doesn't work you're gonna have to call them. But you can't call them from your old phone while the account of that old phone is still active, you'll need to use another phone. If you stop by a Verizon store they'll surely activate it for you very quickly. You're gonna like the Droid Maxx.  Goodluck

    I just bought a Droid Eris off of ebay with a clean ESN. I was able to successfully activate it online, but then I call *228 and it activates. Then I try to make an actual call and it tells me my "mobile number is either not active or invalid." Why?

    You might want to call vzw tech support on that one, just to make sure everything is in order.

  • Can't activate my droid after factory reset?

    I have the droid (First one release) I recently dropped it, screen cracked.. I had insurance and got another droid. I've been using it just fine for 2 days texting, calling, using the data, everything was great.
    But a few hours ago I couldn't send texts, was receiving texts with extreme delay, and the ones I was recieving would repeat themselves every few minutes even though the people had only sent them once. so I thought I probably screwed something software related up, whatever. I tried doing an internal factory reset, it just stayed at reset after I clicked it, so I turned it off and did a hard reset.. turned it back on and the screen to activate came up, I hit activate, it called verizon, after pushing the numbers at prompt and waiting it said "Activation successful", I hit next and it went back to the first screen to activate the phone.. figured it was just an error, skipped, but I couldnt connect my google account (Because i still didn't have 3g due to activation). I turned it on and off, didnt work, factory reset again, didnt work, anyone know how to resolve this? It's really frustrating.. though im hoping its some freak network outage in my area and in the morning everything will be fine.

    You can ask for a SIM card at your local Corporate Verizon store (they're free) or by calling Customer Service.  If you take the phone with you to the store, they can activate the phone for you; otherwise, you can activate it on-line via your My Verizon account by clicking the Activate or Switch Devices link.

    Hey everyone, not too long ago I purchased a Droid 4, had problems with it and ended up buying an iPhone instead from eBay.
    I was told I could buy a phone from eBay and just activate the iPhone for that line. Well, I purchased the phone, opened it up, went through the steps

    I am replacing a Droid X with a S5 and wanted to keep my unlimited data plan. One of the reps said I would need to order the S5 without service and then transfer my old number over to the new phone.  I now have received the new phone.  Since the old phone does not have a sim card, how do I activate the new one?

    did you pay full price or get $100 + $50 rebate upgrade pricing?
    my s5 came with a sim card....yours didn't?

    I've been trying to switch my phone from a Droid 2 to a Droid Incredible while in Extended Network. When I go to call *228, a US cellular message comes up and then "Programming Unsuccessful". Now I don't have service on either of my phones. How do I go about this?

    Verizon Wireless phones won't activate in an extended coverage area. You need to go to a native Verizon Wireless coverage area to activate the phone.
    You might be able to activate it manually, but you would need the assistance of customer service on another phone or someone who is knowledgeable about the manual programming method. budone

  • New Droid MAXX won't activate

    I've tried activating all over town and it keeps failing.  This is to replace an existing device. Is this a pervasive problem since they have just been released?  I can't seem to get any support.

    I am having the same problem.  After terrible support after I went to purchase the phone (you would not believe how hard it was to get to be able to organize the ordering of $299 phone--spent at least 1.5 hours already on the phone trying to make sure the purchase was completed), now this. 
    After following the procedure (backup contacts, switch off old phone, call 800# to activate new phone, turn on new phone) and activating 4-5 times with no success, I tried the online activation.  This said it was successful, but again tried activating 4-5 times with no success.  Error message varied between telling me to call the 800 number to activate and saying the signal was poor.
    I went online and got chat support from a Verizon rep.  I was told by the rep I chatted with that I had to call in and speak with a specialized rep to activate my phone.  But, of course, they are not open because I live on the west coast and support ends early evening.  I am ready to return this phone and cancel my Verizon service, which I even upgraded when I bought the phone.  I am embarrassed to be a Verizon customer--the company should be ashamed of the way it has behaved throughout this process.  Final straw was the attitude of the rep who assisted via chat, kept finishing sentences with a "!" as though I should be excited to wait 8 hours to activate my phone.   APPALLING.

I had Handcent installed, cleared it's cache, restarted, pulled battery, restarted, uninstalled Handcent, restarted, used the native SMS application to send txts to multiple persons (some on VZW, some not), nothing would be sent or received. Eventually got frustrated, and wipe my phone. Now it fails to activate, update or anything else. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I even logged on to VZW's website via my laptop, and it won't retrieve ANY information other than my name.

    SOOO frustrated!!!  Verizon says their system is down and they are unable to activate my phone right now.  It may take until the 22 they said.  WTH???  Why the heck is everything soo difficult

    Ah sorry to hear that. You may just have to wait then & keep trying back. You can always call Verizon tech support for further help.
