Re-activating phone number

Hi guys, Before I go, banners waving and guns blazing down to CISAS, Ofcom and writing my letter to EE complaints, I'm hoping someone on here may be able to shed some light as I cannot get the same story twice from EE employees. I have had numerous issues with my EE account, most of which my partner has been able to sort (overcharging, not charging, etc). I suppose I'll find out when I get my next bill and see if the 120 pounds I'm owed is credited on it. My question is here - is there any way to reactivate a phone number? It's 50/50 chance, everytime we call someone says "Yes, my manager can do that for you." Or "cancellations can do that for you" or simply no.  When I signed up to EE I had a faulty handset. I was told by the Leadenhall store manager that I needed to cancel, resign up and that he had requested a PAC code. I was given a temporary EE number and a Tmobile prepaid so that I could port my number to T mobile and then back to EE when my PAC code came through. It seemed a little ridiculous to me, but I went along with it. A week later, I still had no PAC code. I called EE customer service who said that the store manager had done the wrong thing and that she was escalating to get my PAC code sent out and that the area manager would be in touch. No phone call was received. Months later, I'm still trying to retrieve my phone number. I have worked in the telecommunications industry in Australia for years, and if I knew what software EE used to store their customer details, I could likely tell them how to do it I would even happily pay a fee to have my phone number "reissued" to me if that makes sense - pay to request a phone number and just request my old one.  So can anyone give me some advice on how to do this?  I have written my letter to the  complaitns team (i cannot imagine any one in the 21st centuray not having an email or phone crew to deal with this) but need this resolved ASAP as I am returning to work in London in 2 weeks and this is the phone number all my business contacts have. Thanks, sorry to be such a ranter

Hi shortyix, The guidelines we have for resuming a cancelled mobile number are as follows: If a mobile number has been cancelled for 90 days or more it can't be resumed. The exceptions are listed below: Cancellation due to a Registration Error - can't be resumed after one day.Ported Out numbers can't be resumed.Accounts that have been cancelled for Fraud.Accounts that have been cancelled for Contract Cancellation Scheme (CCS).Can't resume the line to issue a PAC code.Only the account holder can resume a mobile number. I hope this helps clarify this for you. Regards,David M

  • Hello, I have been unable to activate my new iphone 6. When I call the activation phone number it just says terms and conditions have been accepted on this account. Please help.

I have been unable to activate my new iphone 6. When I call the activation phone number it just says terms and conditions have been accepted on this account. Please help.

Same thing here. I love how they include this nice and easy to follow guide in the box and the KEY step for activation (the phone call) is a total fail. To verizon: the automated just says Terms and Conditions have been accepted for this number. Press 1 to enter another phone number in the order. Well, I HAD NO other phone number in my order. The message gives no other options. She repeats the same line 3 more times and after the 3rd time, it says please hold while we transfer you, call may be monitored etc. Guess what, its 2 am ET and customer service is closed?
Do you guys expect thousands of iphone customers to speak to a CSR just to activate? Why not just let us do it online? I have activated plenty of phones even LTE phones, online. Now I'm going to have to compete with the other 30,000 people who ran into this same problem overnight tomorrow on the phone....

  • IPhone 4 Activation phone number different

When trying to activate a new iPhone 4 get the message:
    "Confirm your phone number:
    314-xxx-xxxx
The phone number should match the one provided when you purchased your iPhone.  If you want to use a different number, contact AT&T after activation.
If this number is different from the one provided when you purchased your iPhone, contact Apple at:
    (800) MY-IPHONE"
The instructions say to call Apple, but after two hours on the the phone yesterday with AppleCare and AT&T, no luck on resolution.  I also went up to the AT&T corporate store and spent another two hours without resolution.
I ordered the iPhone via the Apple Online Store.  I called them and they had to idea how to fix the issue.
When I ordered my iPhone I put in the phone number on my account.  When I received the iPhone 4 yesterday from FedEx it displays a completely different phone number.  The instructions ask for the Zip and Last 4 of the Social Security number of the the person who owns this "314" phone number.  That is not me, so I have no idea what that would be.
There is no way to bypass this screen.  Even restoring the iPhone as new results in the same display.
This is an Apple issue.  I was able to back track and find out that the serial number the Apple Online Store thought they shipped in fact WAS NOT.  It is two digits different!!
Mistakes happen, but I wasted a whole day yesterday trying to fix this and noone can help me.  If anybody knows the fix please reply.  Thanks.

Same issue. Read this post and here is what I found out.
The serial number on the box and what was on the order was wrong.
Called Apple Care and after all the tramsfering and calling everyone, I spoke to Apple care Senior tech support. I had to provide them with all the following information: Phone number (the correct number), serial number, Imei number, last ssn and zip code, and name.  They said an engineer would get back to hear and she would let me know.
At first I was not able to activate the phone and I had to do a complete restore and once that was done, it came up as my phone number.
    Hope this helps people. Thanks!

  • Iphone activation phone number?

I would like to know the phone to call to activate my new iphone

        rheingold90,
Congrats on the new phone! We'd love to help provide options to activate your device.
If you have a 3G iPhone, the number to activate your phone will be *228 (send) and select option number one when prompted. This option however will not work on 4G devices such as the iPhone 5, 5s and 5C.
If you have a 4G device, please follow these steps to activate your phone http://vz.to/1cDvnr5

  • IMessage and FaceTime not working with phone number.

    Hi guys,
I've had this issue for days. My iMessage had been linked with my email. So I sign out of "my Apple ID" to enable me select my phone number as my preferred option for use. Unfortunately, I have my former phone number (which does not exist anymore) in grey and not my present phone number. So I'm stuck with my old contact and my email address for iMessage and FaceTime. I have tried toggling iMessage off and on, it keeps me on "waiting for activation" mode, deducts some airtime for SMS charge but still goes back to "iMessage unsuccessful".
Guys what can I do to link my active phone number to my iMessage and FaceTime.

    Hello Walidou,
I've gone through the text, thanks. But it doesn't give me a solution still. It says if after waiting for activation for 24hours it doesn't still work, then contact apple support. You see it still brings me back here.
Infact, as I'm writing this my airtime is still being deducted as SMS is being automatically sent to some random number like "+447537410257"

  • I have an iPhone 5 and updated it to iOS7 but now I can't use iMessage or FaceTime as it says "waiting for activation" and won't let me use my phone number to do iMessage or FaceTime either

I have an iPhone 5 and updated it to iOS7 last night but now I can't use iMessage or FaceTime as it says "waiting for activation" As well as that, it won't let me use my phone number to do iMessage or FaceTime it will only let me use my apple ID which I don't want to do.

Thank you for replying.    Yes I deleted the old email address..

  • IMessage waiting for activation. Phone number not listed in Send and Receive at?

I'm going to try to be as descriptive as possible, as I'm not too sure what else I can possibly do to resolve this issue.
3 or 4 days ago I requested a number change through my provider. Not knowing that I had to turn off iMessage whilst waiting for the change to occur, I left it on.
Later that day my friends were complaining that I was sending them texts from two different numbers, one being my new number, one being my old number. The thing is, I'm using the exact same SIM card and it's a little unusual to have two numbers for one SIM. I then realised that iMessage is ONLY registering my iTunes e-mail address and OLD phone number as an option to 'Send and Receive at'. I have spoken to Optus (my provider in Aust.) and Apple, I have gone into an Apple store, had the phone replaced, restored newtwork settings, restored phone altogether, turned on/off iMessage and Facetime, checked date and time, made sure my correct number is listed in Settings > Phone, etc etc etc I've done EVERYTHING listed in all forums that I've read from people experiencing this same issue.
I can choose to select my old phone number in iMessage, and can then send messages to others using iMessage from the old number, and if I switch it off, I'm then using SMS to send messages, and it's from my new number again! It's very frustrating not having all features on my phone working correctly.
If I switch iMessages and Facetime on, not using my Apple ID to sign in, it simply says 'waiting for activation' and after a few hours, tells me it was unsucessful and to try again. I'm all out of options now, Optus don't know what to do, Apple don't know what to do and I don't know what else to do! It's been 4 days! Someone please help!?

Just thought I'd let everybody know how it finally got resolved 1 week later!
After trying absolutely everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that Apple support, apple forums etc told me to do, the only thing that worked was turning iMessage off, waiting for at least 24 hours at then turning iMessage back on.
It activated itself within a few minutes, no dramas at all!
    Hope this helps!

    Hi, uttam_june15.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I am not sure if you are unable to activate iMessage or that your phone number is not registering with iMessage.  However, here are the troubleshooting articles that cover both scenarios.

Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF.
Then go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. Your phone will restart. You will not lose any data, but you will have to re-enter any Wi-Fi network passwords.
Once the phone has re-started and you have a network connection (either 3G or Wi-Fi), turn iMessage back ON.

  • I am trying to get my phone activated for Prepaid, but when I try to register my phone with Verizon the FIRST thing it asks me for is my phone number... but I don't even have one.

How am I supposed to give them my phone number when I haven't even activated my phone yet? I just want to get this phone activated ASAP.

you're phone number should be in the phone settings.

If I get this right, you've ported your phone number to AT&T with the purchase of the iPhone. That is considered opening your own account under your name. Your brother's account is not ported to AT&T unless you used his SS# instead of yours. Your brother still has his account under Verizon Wireless, all you did was use your cell phone number to when you opened your own AT&T account.
If you don't want to use your Verizon Wireless phone #, my suggestion is to call AT&T customer service and explain that you want a new phone number instead of the ported Verizon number.
