Re: Adobe Acrobat compatible with Lion

I just want to be sure Adobe Acrobat 9 is compatible with Lion, as I spoke to an Adobe rep who said it was not.
I ordered Acrobat 9 without checking to see that it was compatible.

This article from Adobe http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html (scroll down to "Acrobat Family") says the plug-in doesn't work with Safari 5.1, but the app itself works with OS 10.7 and 10.6. I don't use Acrobat but this implies that the latest version should work with Lion. Maybe an email to them will get an answer for sure.

  • Is Acrobat X printer (distiller) compatible with Lion?

What does anyone know about Acrobat X, X pro being compatible with Lion - most importantly the distiller. Reason I ask is I'm having issues sending PDfs to certain PC users when I'm using the built in PDf printer in the print dialog. I'm thinking if I use the real Acrobat distiller I may not have this issue, but I don't know if it works with Lion. Adobe's website is less than helpful and doesn't give straight answers.
    Thanks for the help

I was under the understanding that Universal meant it was written in such a way that it would run Intel but bring Rosetta in if needed on a PowerPC. In any case, the research I've done in considering Lion said to get rid of all the PowerPC software as it would not work. It said nothing about Universal software. So now Lion is begining to look even scarier.
I am confused though, that a bunch (25%) of Universal software on my father's laptop (I used him for a guinea pig) is working on Lion.

    Hi spiritentrep,
What Adobe software are you referring to? Are you using Acrobat? You should have no problems running Acrobat XI on Yosemite, and as along as you have compatible scanner drivers for your Epson, you should be fine there as well.

  • Time Capsule 1TB Will this unit still be compatible with Lion OSX ,As I have not switched yet until other programs I have installed on my mac are up to speed

I have had my eye on one of these for quite some time in the past and up until just very recently have puchased a 1TB Time Capsule at rather quite a reasonable price or so I had thought compared to what they had been priced at originally in the past which I had thought to be a bit over the top as is with most of apple's products or should I more say marketing tactic's,
Anyway I was just wanting to know in general is this unit already so to speak on it's way out or becoming obsolete in comparison to the 2TB's and 3TBs Time Capsules ,
Not the implicating the obvious being storage in differences but more so the compatibility issue side of things,
In short will this unit still work with OSX Lion for example, or is it only limited to Leopard and Snowleopard,
The place I had purchased this unit from are more or less in the dark themselves and although more than helpful are more a musical instrument outlet than a computer store as the decision was my choice alone in which I need not to be convinced,
Although I have purchased this item I am yet to recieve as this unit was the one of the last in the country and is to be shipped in from out of town,
But has given me time to think of such in the process during as this unit is no longer advertised amongst it bigger companions,
I use my mac or mac's mainly for composing music with such software as Pro Tools 8 soon to be 9 and also Live 8 Studio as I don't plan to plan to change over to Lion OSX until these programs are up to speed and speaking the same language,

    Yes, it's compatible with Lion.

  • What iPhoto version is compatible with Lion OSX 10.7.5 and will it let me make photo calendars?

What iPhoto version is compatible with Lion OSX 10.7.5 and will it let me make photo calendars?
I have just upgraded from Leopard to Lion (via Snow Leopard) because I could no longer order photo calendars with iphoto 7.1.5.  However, I still have iphoto 7.1.5 and need to upgrade this.  From the App store it looks as though I cannot get iphoto 9.5.1 due to the incompatibility with Lion.  I was recemmended not to upgrade beyond Lion due to the age of my iMac computer (2008 version) by Stormfront staff.
What is the best iphoto to upgrade to and how do I do this e.g. iLife '09 or '11, or are there any other 'stand-alone' versions of iphoto that would be compatible?  How do I know whether my computer is capable of upgrading to Mountain Lion?  I definitely want to be able to make photo calendars, books and cards.
    Thanks

iPhoto '09 or '11 - purchase an iLife '09 or '11 DVD (amazon or eBay are potential sources) and install iPhoto and update to the latest version for your OS

  • What label maker is compatible with Lion OSX 10.8.2?

what labe maker is compatible with Lion OSX 10.8.2?

You'll have to search online yourself and see their specifications if it meets your requirements.
There are CD label makers, Avery label makers, standalone machines that spit out a label at a time etc., etc. check for Mac compatability also.
A lot of database software also can make labels on a printer using the Avery numbers (or close to it) and similar sized labels, sold in office type stores aka "compatible with Avery 2060" for instance.
A free piece of database software that works on Windows, OS X and Linux is the free LibreOffice suite.
However you have to turn Gatekeep to "Anywhere" first to install it, link here.

  • What printers are compatible with Lion?

I am on my second printer, and no dice with HP officejet 4500.
Are there any printers that are compatible with Lion, and easy to install.
It has been nothing but a nightmare, and a financial burden to try to find a printer that works.
    please advise, thanks!

There are so many printers compatible. It makes no sense to list all. The HP officejet 4500 you have is compatible if you have the right driver:

  • Is Adobe CS4 compatible with Mac OSX Maverick?

    Hello,
Is Adobe CS4 compatible with Mac OSX Maverick?
    Thk

I just upgraded my OS to Mavericks X, and my previously installed Photoshop CS4 failed to run when I tried to launch it.
I even downloaded a brand new version from a link here that was in a "Mavericks X" column, giving me SOME confidence that it might just function on the new OS.
So far, I've been down 3 days since upgrading my OS. I cannot get Photoshop CS4 to run, no matter what I've tried!
Yes, I've uninstalled the prior version before installing the new one. I entered all of my serial number and registration information, and still NOTHING! Bridge appears to work fine, but Photoshop CS4 is just one big crater right now!
I'd like to just talk with a human at Adobe on the phone for a few minutes, which should be all that's needed to get it resolved, but they do NOT offer phone support for Photoshop products!!! And, I'm unable to locate how to even become a "Premium Member" (paid) that will allegedly provide phone support!
    HELP!

  • HT204032 is this firmware update compatible with Lion?

I have set my MacBook Air to dual boot Lion and Mountain Lion, is this firmware update (MacBook Air SMC firmware update 1.6) compatible with Lion?  So if I boot the MacBook into Mountain Lion, accept the firmware update, and then boot into Lion will I have any problems?

Thanks for the responses, but they really don't get me any further because they don't contain anything that I couldn't have inferred myself. I've been developing software for nearly thirty years and just because Lion won't be using this particular feature doesn't mean the change won't break something else.
What I really need is an assurance from Apple that this update has been fully tested on Lion.
I don't have a compelling need for this Power Nap feature so I won't install this update for the moment, unless Apple issues the assurance.

  • Is there a list for applications compatible with Lion?

As I contemplate the move to Lion from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) I have the usual hesitation about applications and utilities working after the move.
This feeling is especially heightened by the final swan song of Rosetta, I think this might be 2nd only to the move from OS 9 to OS X.
I was wondering if anyone had enocountered a list of software compatible with Lion: applications, utilities, etc?

Very shortly after asking this question I found an answer...
