Re-assigning function group to tables.

I created tables, but assigned them to the wrong function group. I try to navigate through se11 to edit the function groups, but I'm having difficulty.
Is there a different way with which I can do this?
Natasha

I'm a little confused.  Are you talking about that you assigned to the wrong function group during table maintenance generator.  If so, just delete it and re-create it in the other function group.

  • Function group for table T007V

    Hi,
How can I find out table maintenance function group for standard SAP tables. If it does not exist then in which package should I create it.
    Thanks,
    Prateek

Function Group are not assigned to tables... Function Group are assigned to Maintenance Views .. since no standard maintenance view exist for this table...
So no function group is associated...
You can create table maintenance for this table and assign any Z- Function Group u like..

  • How to change function group in table maintenance

    Hello experts,
I am having a problem transporting a custom table. Now, what I want to do is to just create a new function group under the table maintenance option in se11. Now, I can't seem to change my custom table's function group. How do I do that? thanks a lot and have a nice day guys!

    Hai
You have to re-generate the table maintenance, when new fields are added, system doesn't automatically insert them in it.
So go to MAINTENANCE TABLE GENERATOR for your table and press icon for updating.
Here choose NEW FIELD options and press ENTER.
Anyway I prefer to set somes parameters of EXPERT MODE as REFRESH OVERVIEW SCREEN
    goto ur table> utilities> table maintenance generator> change>press enter> reason give additional fields>expert mode--> enter...
    Thanks & Regards

  • Can we move SAP R/3 standard Function Groups, SAP Tables to BW

    Dear Forum,
We are in a ‘pilot’ process of migrating SAP R/3 Custom development objects to our BW client and we have a few questions that we would like to know if possible.
We are currently in the ‘To Be’ Blueprint Phase of migrating SAP 45B to ERP2005 as a Ramp-Up customer and we need to determine as soon as possible the feasibility of moving one particular Custom application from our SAP R/3 environment to BW.
This application primarily performs computational processing and does reporting of the results at the
    conclusion
We have selected one Custom R/3 ABAP program to do a ‘pilot’ to determine the feasibility of migrating it to the BW platform. This Custom program utilizes objects from standard SAP Function Groups which are <b>non existent</b> in BW.  In this particular case SAP Function groups <b>KMS0</b> (Cost Center Selection) and <b>KAB2</b> (CO Reporting: General).
    <b>Questions:</b>
Are we allowed to move these <b>2 standard SAP Function Groups to BW</b> ?
Would it alter the BW environment integrity as intended and designed by SAP?
If we move the Function Group KMS0 and KAB2 will SAP support our BW environment if we decide to move them?
Would it be considered a ‘SAP Best Practice’ to move standard SAP R/3
    objects to BW?
Thank you in advance for your help,

    Hi Roberto,
First many thanks for such a quick response and as you mentioned it would be almost necessary to port over a few objects from SAP to make it work.
Would be safe to assume that we should not try to import standard SAP objects to a BW installation in order to make provide the same functionality as R/3 System ?
Thank you in advance for your help,

  • Reg. table maintenance generator and function group

I am trying to create a table maintenance for a custom table. It is asking for a function group. Should I create a new function group for each table maintenance I generate?
Thanks in advance for your input.

    Hi Krishen,
You can also assign authorization groups to tables to avoid users accessing tables using general access tools (such as transaction SE16). A user requires not only authorization to execute the tool, but must also have authorization to be permitted to access tables with the relevant group assignments. For this case, we deliver tables with predefined assignments to authorization groups. The assignments are defined in table TDDAT; the checked authorization object is S_TABU_DIS.
You can assign a table to authorization group Z000. (Use transaction SM30 for table TDDAT) A user that wants to access this table must have authorization object S_TABU_DIS in his or her profile with the value Z000 in the field DICBERCLS (authorization group for ABAP Dictionary objects).
Please check this link for more info.

  • Table Maintenance Generator - Function Group regeneration issue

I have table maintenance genertor in a function group that contains lot of tables . I by mistable regenerate the whole function group using table mainteance generator.
Now i want to check which of the programs changed during the regenerator. I am looking for some sap table that contains all the changed objects and their transport number.
Please rememebr i have still not released the transport,
I have checked E071, E071, VRSD . That contains the entry for function group and does not contains the programs inside the function group changed
    Thanks

    Thomas,
Thanks for your reply. Currently I don't want to release the transport.
Is there any table i can check which are programs changed without releasing transport

  • Program to assign auth group to the tables?

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone of you know if there is a program that I can use to assign the auth group to the SAP std table(in case if I need to) and customized tables. I know I can goto Se54 and assign an auth group there but was hyst wondering if there is a program like RSCSAUTH which we can use for assigning the auth group to the programs.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
You donot assign auth. group to tables but rather to the Maintenance Generator.
I think SAP will not provide any std. program for this.
Maybe other SDNers have some better ideas to share.

  • Authorization group,function group

friends while creating a table maintenance view  it's asking  authorization group

Function group to which the maintenance modules are to belong. One function group can contain maintenance modules for several tables or views.
    – Authorization group
    – Maintenance type (one or two-step)
    – Maintenance screen(s) (one or two-step maintenance type, resp.) numbers

  • Function group - transport order

    Hi people,
I have a question. I have released a transport order in which there was a group function. Now, i have to modify a FM of this FG. I have created a new transport order but i have not created a new FG. Is it correct? I need to create a new FG? How i can join my fm into the new fg?
    Thx in advance

    Ok, thx guys.
I believed it too. There was not necessary create a new function group but when i have gone to SE01 (transport orders) i have seen:
    DESK922495
    - function module Z_RFC_CLIENTS
    - tables, definitions, etc
    And in others transport orders
    DESK922239
    - function group ZF01
    - tables, etc
Then i have doubted because in theory my RFC is comprised for ZF01 too. But i suppose it is normal.
    Thx
note  RFC is the fm that i am changing.

  • Regading function group

    Hi everyone,
can anyone tell me what is a function group. I know it contains group of function modules what the purpose of function group .We give a function group in table maintenance generator for a ztzble ,whats the purpose of it.
Please let me what is function module too.
    Thanks in advance

    Hai Deepthi
    1. specially function group.. what is its significance
    When we generate table maintenance,
the system , based upon the table fields,
    automatically,
    generates
PROGRAM CODE, SCREEN FOR ENTERING DATA,
LOGIC FOR SAVING DATA, LOGIC FOR DISPLAYING DATA
    ETC.
    2. All this are BUNCHED under
    a FUNCTION GROUP
(if you open that function group in se80, after
    creatting table maintenacne,
u will see the program code, screens, gui status etc)
    3. Hence, to BUNCH all these various objects,
SAP uses the concept of function group.
    4. And also why do we need to give two screens there
Its not necessary to have to screens.
    5. ONE SCREEN MEANS:
only one screen with table control to enter data
    TWO SCREEN means :
first screen : only primary key fields will appear
second screen : rest of the fields will appear to enter data
    6. When the table consists of many fields,
its practically more convenient to have two screens,
so that all fields come vertically downwards.
(instead of scrolling horizontally in the table
control, in case of one screen concept)
The use of the FG is only this the Table Maintainance Generator part. Neednt be declared anywhere else.
yes u need to create a FG and the use it in Table maint. gen.

  • Follow-up question on ZXM08U16 table E_TDRSEG  (function group XM08)

Rich's suggestion worked (on how to retype the E_TDRSEG table received from MIRO by include ZXM08U16 in the function group XM08.
Before asking my new follow-up question, let me recap the original SAP typing of this table and the way I've retyped it (following Rich's instructions):
    The original SAP typing is:
    E_TDRSEG TYPE  MMCR_TDRSEG
    TYPES: mmcr_tdrseg TYPE mmcr_drseg OCCURS 0,
    TYPES: BEGIN OF mmcr_drseg_co.
            INCLUDE STRUCTURE cobl_mrm_d.
TYPES: cr LIKE drseg_cr    OCCURS 0,
           unpl_refwr TYPE refwr,
           END OF mmcr_drseg_co.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF mmcr_drseg.
            INCLUDE STRUCTURE drseg.
TYPES: cr LIKE drseg_cr OCCURS 0,
           co TYPE mmcr_drseg_co OCCURS 0,
           sm LIKE drseg_sm OCCURS 0,
           charact TYPE rbcharact_instance OCCURS 3,
                                           "instances of characteristics
           uebgmat  TYPE matnr,
           uebrblgp TYPE rblgp,
           selkz_db TYPE selkz,
rblgp_old TYPE rblgp,           "rblgp before aggregation
           END OF mmcr_drseg.
    I retyped this as follows:
    TYPES:
      ty_cobl_mrm_d        TYPE cobl_mrm_d,
ty_drseg_cr          TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF drseg_cr with DEFAULT KEY,
ty_drseg_sm          TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF drseg_sm with DEFAULT KEY,
ty_charact           TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF rbcharact_instance with DEFAULT KEY,
      BEGIN OF ty_mmcr_drseg_co.
        INCLUDE            TYPE ty_cobl_mrm_d.
        TYPES:
          cr               TYPE ty_drseg_cr ,
          unpl_refwr       TYPE refwr,
      END OF   ty_mmcr_drseg_co,
ty_co                TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ty_mmcr_drseg_co
                           WITH DEFAULT KEY,
      BEGIN OF ty_mmcr_drseg.
        INCLUDE            TYPE drseg.
        TYPES:
          cr               TYPE ty_drseg_cr,
          co               TYPE ty_co,
          sm               TYPE ty_drseg_sm,
charact          TYPE ty_charact,        "instances of characteristics
          uebgmat          TYPE matnr,
          uebrblgp         TYPE rblgp,
          selkz_db         TYPE selkz,
rblgp_old        TYPE rblgp,             "rblgp before aggregation
      END OF   ty_mmcr_drseg.
      DATA:
        x_mmcr_drseg       TYPE mmcr_drseg,
        x_mmcr_drseg_oo    TYPE ty_mmcr_drseg,
it_mmcr_drseg      TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ty_mmcr_drseg,
        x_drseg_cr         TYPE drseg_cr,
        x_drseg_sm         TYPE drseg_sm,
        x_drseg_co         TYPE ty_mmcr_drseg_co.
But here's my question.  To load the new table from the SAP table, I've had to use the code below.  Is there any way to simplify this code?  (I don't think there is because the drseg structure is included in the old and the new, so you can't simply say new-drseg = old-drseg.  But maybe there's another way to do it and I'm not seeing it.  Also, note that I had to loop on each of  the inner three tables because it wouldn't compile when I tried statements of the form "new-table[] = old-table[].)

    Hi Laxman,
The F1 help of the field says:
Name of the function group, to which the generated maintenance modules will belong.
Means the PBO & PAI modules of the screen will be created under this Functio group.

  • Can we say that Table Maintenance Generator is Function Group?

Can we say that Table Maintenance Generator is Function Group?

    Hi Naresh,
I think as you said it is a function group only..
When we generate a TMG, a function group with two function modules, two screens and some includes will get generated.
This function modules and screens get called dynamically through SM30.
