Friederun,
Odd behaviour - can you try either using the downloadable client if the javaFX client is the choice or vice versa. One of them should work.

  • Oracle Beehive Conferencing -- "Could not connect to the server"

    Hi,
Customer can't connect to the Conference, while joining they get a error "Could not connect to the server". We tried "Oracle Beehive Conferencing" with at least 12 Customers only 2 were able to connect. All 10 Customer reported the same issue.
    Thank you,
    Pavan

Ports 80/443 are open by default on all systems, 5224 is required by the Beehive Desktop conference client. If customer is trying to connect using Desktop client then they need to check if 5224 port is closed by any firewall running on the system.
Following document got the compatible OS list and few screen shots

  • How to redefine the "AltGr"-Key in Beehive Conferencing

    Hi @all,
I have a weird problem with beehive Conferencing. If I'm the presentator and want to type for example an "@"-sign (or "{","[","]","}","~","|"), I have to press the "AltGr" (or "Ctrl+Alt") on my german keyboard to get this.
But if I do that the only thing that comes up is a popup which reads "present this window". So, "AltGr" acts as a hotkey in Beehive Conferencing.
And I have found no possibility to change this hotkey.
Has anyone an idea how I can change this hotkey-setting?
    Thanks
    Jochen

Yes, really interesting. To work around this I've created a textfile with all the characters I can't reach while presenting (and do a copy+paste if I need one).
Always leads to a lot of laughter by the attendees. But if it helps to make the presentation a bit more interesting.....

We have an HTTP/HTTPS conflict when downloading the JavaFX client that we have not yet been able to resolve without breaking something else :-)
We recommend you use the downloadable client - available from the https://beehiveonline.oracle.com/bcentral/action?page=downloadlanding&appId=Oracle+Beehive+Conferencing+Bootstrap%7Cwind…

  • Any date on when beehive conferencing will be certified for OSX Lion 10.7?

Recently got a Macbook Air with OS X 10.7.
I did not find direct certification for beehive conferencing on 10.7. Is that a certified OS and browser(safari) combination?

Come on Apple! This is a problem in Mountain Lion too- you are letting down a host of lon time loyal Adobe users here.

  • Beehive Conferencing

    Hello,
Does anyone know if there are plans to add additional functionality to Beehive Conferencing? The feature that our organization is concerned with particularly is the ability to record a conference (as this has been a very useful feature with our RTC Client).
    Thanks,
    Austin

The recording feature is planned for the 1.5 release of Beehive Conferencing. That release is expected out fairly soon, by early spring at the latest.

  • Beehive Conferencing Client won't intall

Runing XP SP3 using IE 8. I've turned off pop-up blockers and made stdonference.com a trusted site. Yet, when I click the install button a blank window opens and quickly disappears. The conference shows me logged in but I can't view it. Clicking the "Join" button" produces an error saying the "webpage cannot be displayed" "Some content of riles on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed." Checking Add/Remove Programs, the Beehive Web Conferencing client is *not* present.
I've tried rebooting and clicking the install button dozens of times with the same results.
If the install was available I might be able to figure out more but it definitely does not just always work!
    Suggestions?

In the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel, moving the slider '3D Performances' from 'Performance' to 'Balanced' resolved the issue for me.
You can access this configuration panel by right clicking on your blank Desktop - click Graphics Properties and in the left navigation click '3D'.
    Another way is:
    - Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution
    - Click on Advanced Settings - another window opens
    - On the Intel Media and Graphics tab, click on the large 'Graphical Properties' button

  • Beehive Conferencing Choices

    Hello,
I see that there is two choices as far as the type of conferencing tool used (java based and desktop client).
Note 1498722.1 indicates when starting a beehive conference with a customer, we are to use the desktop client.  Is this the preferred way to connect with a customer?
    Thanks!
    Cindi

    Cindi,
Yes, the Java FX client has an issue on BeehiveOnline but the client is OK and easy to use - it is downloadable from the https://beehiveonline.oracle.com/bcentral page. It is described as an enhanced version but it is the same download.

  • Audio in tele-video conferencing issue on macbook air

using VSEE ( as in Vsee.com )  for tele medicine. Its like Skype but uses low band width and works amazing when it works.
I  practice medicine via computers from where i live to other parts of the USA and from a Verizon FIOS router etherneted into my Macbook air 11" fully optimized  version 2013 i noticed audio from the far site ( a clinic using PC ) the sound was squelched, voices were cut off, i couldn't hear full sentences  Video always is fine.
i then installed VSee for the iPhone 5 and there are no more issues.  I don't understand this.  Why is the audio fine with the iPhone and not with the MACBOOK AIR?
    anyone have a clue.
why would wi fi be better for audio than a hard wire ethernet into the router?
is it the computer itself?  a bad ethernet cable.  i did buy an ethernet usb cable to connect.
    thanks

  • Web conferencing issues, thanks

    Hi,
I don't know how many of you have done a web conferencing system using JMF. I'm currently working on it but I have addressed some problems. I'd like to hear your suggestions.
The system uses C/S structure and the client uses WebStart. I tried the RTP solutions provided by Sun but I think they are more suitable for P2P.
    1. For the video transmission, I capture the camera every 0.5 minute and save to JPEG photos. Then the photos are uploaded to the server. All the other member clients in the conference room download the photos and restore them into a movie. But in this solution there is time delay. Any better ones?
    2. For the audio transmission, I have no idea how to do it...
    3. Is it better to use a streaming server? I mean, what is the normal architecture for this kind of system? I've installed Darwin Streaming Server but I can't find a way to communicate with it via JMF. If there are some existing solutions, can you please give me the links or sample code?
    4. I find that it looks like flash is more popular is this area. Is it possible to use flash in my Java client side? I read the document of Red5 but looks like the client is mainly web page.
Sorry I know I have too many questions here. I have done the research for almost two weeks but still get blocked. So I hope you can help me out here. Thanks in advance!
    Alex in Sweden

The system uses C/S structure and the client uses WebStart. I tried the RTP solutions provided by Sun but I think they are more suitable for P2P.You can certainly use RTP for a client-to-server application. It's suitable for any kind of transport.
    1. For the video transmission, I capture the camera every 0.5 minute and save to JPEG photos. Then the photos are uploaded to the server. All the other member clients in the conference room download the photos and restore them into a movie. But in this solution there is time delay. Any better ones? You stream the video via RTP to a server, and that server uses the incoming stream as the source for outgoing streams to all of the participants of the video conference...
    2. For the audio transmission, I have no idea how to do it...My proposal for #1 handles audio as well.
    3. Is it better to use a streaming server? I mean, what is the normal architecture for this kind of system? I've installed Darwin Streaming Server but I can't find a way to communicate with it via JMF. If there are some existing solutions, can you please give me the links or sample code? You do need a streaming server, but you can easily write your own for this application. It's what I like to call a "bounce server" because it just bounces the stream to whoever wants to see it.
    4. I find that it looks like flash is more popular is this area. Is it possible to use flash in my Java client side? I read the document of Red5 but looks like the client is mainly web page.Ummmm, no. Red5 is a good freeware Flash Media Server that's capable of doing this video conference application. Adobe Flex is a free API you can use to develope desktop applications or web applications (and thus you would have a Flash-based application that would be running outside of a web browser, transmitting the A/V to the Red5/Flash Media server)

  • Customer Getting "The MX connection timed out."When Joining The Beehive OWC

    Hello,
I have attempted to use the Beehive client for initiating the owc with customers, and in 60-70% if the cases, they end up getting the message, "The MX connection timed out".
I don't know how to get around this issue, will appreciate if someone has a fix or work around to overcome this issue.
I am working on a Win 7 platform, Beehive Conferencing 2.0.1.7.0
I am also having an issue when starting an owc. Beehive (by default) assigns 'My Personal Workspace' as the location of my conference. But when I click on the dropdown,
on the second line, I see "loading", but nothing ever loads.
    Thanks.
    Anees.

    Hi Phil,
I am getting the same error message MX connection timed out.
(I am Oracle customer). My desktop running window 7, has latest JRE 7 update 21 installed. still getting the error.
Couldn't get beehive running, but no issue when using the old web conference RTC real-time collaboration from Oracle.
Any ideas what else I need to do to fix this. (Oracle customer support very much give up and frustrate too).
    Thank you.
    Elizabeth.

  • How Do I Find Where My Beehive Conference Is?

    Hello,
I am using Beehive Conferencing, version 2.0.1.7.0, I just recorded my first conference with a customer.
But now, I cannot locate where that conference is stored.
I have checked under C:\Documents and Settings\auahmed2\Application Date\Oracle\Beehive, there are no asp files here.
I use MS Outlook, it is installed with Outlook Extensions for Beehive.
I looked under the folder Documents, and there are no files here either.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Anees.

    Hi Aness,
The default location is "Your Personal Workspace > Documents". This will be shown in the "Recording Location" when you start the recording and users can change the location. If you cannot find it in "Documents", then you might have chosen another location. Try recording another conf and check the "Recording Location"
    Thanks,

    Hya,
    Have you tried:
    1. Unsinstalling then reinstalling the webconferencing client
    2. Have you got another PC at home to try it with?
    3. Are the appropriate ports open on your home firewall and your work firewall if the Beehive server is not in some datacenter?
Ports would be 21401 is non-ssl or 21451 if traffic is encrypted
    4. If traffic is encrypted, is your Beehive platform using Oracle's test certificate, if the answer is yes, then OBEO (mayber) OBEE and Webconference for sure won't work as they need a valid certificate or at least one whose root authority is stored in the Internet Explorer Wallet.
