Re: Bluetooth Indicator

I am aquiring data from an application via bluetooth, to a PC. Can I display the bluetooth signal strength running from Windows XP in a LabView 7.1 front panel?

Hi,
There may be workarounds that I don't know of, but I believe at the moment this feature is not supported. Perhaps you may like to put this through as a product suggestion. If you want to do this goto the following link:

  • Bluetooth indicator in Windows 8

    Hi All,
I have recently upgraded my X201 (non tablet version) to Windows 8 Pro from 7 Ultimate - thanks to those on this board in particular for the WLAN drivers.
My only outstanding issue is that the Bluetooth indicator is always on.  I have tried disabling the device in device manager and also in Win 8 but to no avail.  I have the latest BIOS 1.40 and bluetooth driver "ThinkPad Bluetooth 3.0"
Bluetooth works - I just can't tell if it is turned on or off by looking at the lamps under the screen.  Has anyone got this to work?  I doubt it is X201 specific.
    Thanks

Recently I did a clean install of W8 Pro, did not reinstall hotkeys and can't figure out how to turn it off - so for now it will just stay on.
I did another clean install yesterday for other reasons.  I've only installed minimal Lenovo stuff (Gobi, Ultranav, Fingerprint and Active Protection - windows update did BT and PM Drivers).
As everything else is working fine I think I'll also leave the lamp on rather than risk breaking somthing else.  I'll turn BT off in the BIOS also - a good idea.  Bit of a shame though nonetheless.  Thanks both for taking the time to post.

My latop is still under warranty...thankyou guys

    >> My latop is still under warranty...thankyou guys
I don't know the policy given you have modified the machine. Anyway, does it work AFTER removing the second OS ? If Yes that may mean you need 2 separate drivers, one for 32bit and 1 for 64bit

  • Annoying bluetooth low battery indicator

How do I turn off the Bluetooth flashing low battery indicator in the menu bar? My mouse batteries are not low, but the bluetooth indicator has been flashing for several days, and every once in a while, I get a popup warning me that the mouse will stop functioning (which it doesn't).
I have turned off the "show bluetooth status in menu bar" option, but the low battery warning overrides it. I do not have any other bluetooth peripherals connected.

By the way, no. The problem is not like world hunger.
But I put up with a blinking light on my Apple 17" lcd monitor for years. That one, thankfully, I could cover with a sticky note. Unsightly, yes. Distractingly annoying, less so than having a computer named Mr. Blinkey!
So, when I bought my beautiful new Mac Pro recently, I bought a whole new Cinema display just so I wouldn't have the problem of something on my screen constantly blinking at me! However, to my horror and eternal suffering, my beatiful new screen blinks at me from the annoyingly unwanted bluetooth menu bar. Worse, I can't even use a sticky note to cover it!
Ugh! Apple! So close, yet so close...

  • After ios 5 update, bluetooth on ipod touch not funcioning-keynote app no longer pairing with ipad

Since the ios 5 update--bluetooth longer funcioning on ipod touch.  iPad no longer syncing with keynote remote app on ipod touch.  My iPad no longer sees the iPod touch.  The Bluetooth indicator does not come on or flash on the ipod touch.
    any help or suggestions?

I've got a fix, even for  those who don't have hotspot (like me) who want to get the ipad and iphone talking over bluetooth again.
First, I should say that I said when I got my 4s, the problem was solved. It was not. I was just connecting via wifi, but I wanted bluetooth back.
Here is how I got it back without hotspot.
    1. Launch keynote on one device and the remote on the other as you normall would.
    2. Find another app that bluetooth links ipad and iphone (I used 'pictransfer light'). Install on both devices and launch on both devices. Follow the promt to get a bluetooth sync.
    3. Double push the home button both devices to pull up the multi-tasking and open keynote and keynote remote on the relevant devices.
    4. In keynote, go to settings; advances; remote. You should now be able to get the remote to link (you may, on the device running the remote, need to hit settings and then 'new keynote link'.
Once I launched pictransfer, the bluetooth logo was blue on both devices the whole time I ran through the other steps. I suspect that that was also the point of using the hotspot service.
Also noteworthy: I am yet to try this 'in the field'. For all I know, this won't keep a connection for as long as one might need. I'll find out on Thursday when I rely on the remote for 90min. On the positive side, I was able to keep the connection even when I double clicked home and closed pictransfer while leaving keynote and keynote remote open...
This work-around worked -- I found that as long as I launched the "Pictransfer for iPad Lite" app just before the presentation that it seemed to work fine.  However, if Bluetooth gets turned off or you disconnect I think you will have to repeat the work-around -- nice find.
Apple really needs to fix this.  They even have a posted document describing how to link two devices by Bluetooth and the truth is that it just does not work as they say.  They need to add whatever code into the Keynote & Keynote Remote apps to initiate bluetooth to connect the devices.  It's fine if it prefers WiFi, but it should give you the bluetooth option as well.

  • [Help] Wireless indicator cannot be turned on.

I got my new T61 today and clean installed the vista X64 OS after upgraded RAM to 4 GB. I installed all the drivers needed and checked again in Lenovo System Update, I can never turn the wireless indicator on. The bluetooth indicator is on and the wireless works since I can get online, but the wireless indicator is dead.
I will appreciate if any of you can share some experience and make any suggestion.
    Thanks!

  • Bluetooth disconnects sort of using Sync My Ride

It is always difficult to find the culprit when one is using two different technologies at the same time to determine which on is causing the problem. I upgraded my iPhone 4 to the 4s and since that upgrade I often get a warning from my Ford Sync system that Bluetooth has disconnected. When I look at the touch screen the Bluetooth indicator is still active. This did not happen with the iPhone 4 and there have been no updates to the Sync My Ride system since I bought the 4s. I would like to get rid of this annoying message even though it only happens once each trip and usually with in the first couple of minutes of starting the car. Has anyone else had this problem?

I recommend making sure her device (that connects to her hearing aids) is very well charged.

  • Small oval Grey Indicator at top of screen What it is

Between the Time and the Wifi indicator a small grey oval indicator has appeared. Does anybody know what this is please
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

A grey lolypop icon appears beside the battery and bluetooth indicator (on the left) when locatin services are being used.
    Is this what you mean?
If not, a screen shot of your display would help.

  • Trouble connecting to bluetooth devices.

I have an iPhone 4 with ios 5.0.1 software and i am having trouble connecting it via bluetooth to a mac so i can send pictures from one to another. I am also unable to connect to any other bluetooth device except for one in the past, a Motorola device that let you listen to music in the car wirelessly with any bluetooth device such as droid, blackberry, or iphone. Please help?

On the SoundLink® speaker, press and hold the Bluetooth® button for approximately 10 seconds until you hear a tone. The SoundLink® speaker clears all Bluetooth® devices from its memory and becomes discoverable
Clear the list on your Bluetooth® device. For more information, please refer to the manufacturer of the device
Perform a product reset. On the speaker, press and hold Mute for 10 seconds, the LEDs will flash briefly. Press Power to turn the SoundLink® speaker back on
Try pairing the device again by following these steps:
With the Bluetooth® device and the SoundLink® speaker both turned on, press and hold the Bluetooth® button on the speaker for three seconds to make the speaker discoverable. The Bluetooth® indicator will slowly fade on and off approximately once every second to show the speaker is in discoverable mode
Set your Bluetooth® device to "Discoverable." This will allow your device to discover the SoundLink® speaker
On your device, locate the Bluetooth® device list. Select "Bose SoundLink" from the list
If your device asks for a passkey, enter digits 0000 and press OK. Some devices also ask you to accept the connection. YourBluetooth® device indicates when pairing is complete. The SoundLink® speaker indicates pairing is complete when the Bluetoothindicator stops fading on and off and remains on

  • Broken bluetooth (fix?)

Just today, I purchased a Sandberg Mini Bluetooth Keyboard, HID and everything. Now, my Playbook has no troubles finding the thing. It, however, drops the keyboard at random intervals, from a few seconds to, when serendipity smiles upon me, an entire minute.
The keyboard is fine; even with my most scrutinous googling, I could not find a single complaint about its connectivity.
Then I went looking for info on potential problems with the Playbook's Bluetooth. Oh boy. Seems like everyone and their mothers have had problems with Bluetooth keyboards on the Playbook. So, the problem rests with the tablet.
I don't want to have to buy the pricy official keyboard. I bought the Playbook because I figured I could do with fewer apps, in exchange for rugged, business like *reliability*. So, my question is this: is there a fix? I'm not talking about some future update, I found a thread back from 2011 were one was promised. My Playbook is fully updated; I checked not half an hour ago. In case there isn't a *concrete* solution, does anyone know a good 7" Android tablet? I've been eyeing an Asus. It looks so... functional.

You don't say what you have done to try to isolate the problem.
I don't know your particular keyboard and don't know if that brand has compatibility problems with a PlayBook, but I can make some basic suggestions with respect to troubleshooting..
Do you have problems on your PlayBook with any other paired Bluetooth device?  Is your keyboard fully charged?  Are there any removable batteries that could be weak or corroded contacts giving intermittent or weak performance?  Does your device show up on the list of saved Bluetooth connections/paired devices?  Have you tried to see what the Bluetooth indicator on the top of the PlayBook shows while you type?  Are there any other Bluetooth devices nearby sending an interrupting signal that in effect boots your keyboard off?  Have you tried to pair the keyboard with another Bluetooth device such as a different brand of tablet or a laptop?  If so is it fully reliable?

  • Bluetooth "Unable to Connect" in 5800XM

My 5800XM's Bluetooth is not working properly. Everytime I try to send or receive content over my device's Bluetooth, it says "Unable to Connect". I also cannot pair my device with other devices although the Bluetooth indicator is shown on the screen. I tried connecting to different devices but the problem always exists. I was never asked to enter the Passcode. I confirmed that I have the latest firmware update for my device, which is 52.0.007
    Any help?

Although it would entail backing up essential data first, the only way to exclude any software issues would be to "hard reset" device to return it to "out of box" state.

  • BlueTooth Not Pairing or Finding Devices

I have just received my T400 and trying to pair it with my Blackberry, but can't get any devices to show up! Nor can I get the T400 to show up on my Blackberry when I search from it. Any ideas? Also, I am connected to publice wireless network right now, the "park bench" icon is showing, does this disable BlueTooth? If so, how can I change this?
    Thanks!

Just gonna throw this out here, two things:
    1) Are you sure your T400 came with Bluetooth? Do you have a Bluetooth indicator light below the LCD? It looks just like the trademark Bluetooth logo and should be next to your WiFi indicator light.
    2) Are you sure your Bluetooth is turned on? The indicator light below your LCD should be lit. Try Fn+F5 to enable the radio.

  • 2630 keeps discharging after turning bluetooth off

On regular use (i.e. without using bluetooth), I can use my Nokia2630 for several days without recharging. Sometimes I use a bluetooth headset connected for about an hour and then disconnect the headset and turn bluetooth off. The bluetooth indicator disappears, but the battery keeps on discharging and is empty after less than 12 hours.
If I turn bluetooth off and turn the phone off and back on again, there is no problem.
Summarized, after turning bluetooth off, the phone keeps using a lot of battery power.
Is this a techical failure, firmware issue, ...
    Suggestions pleas?

I think might the bluetooth manager did not shutdown properly. and so judging from that, the battery depleted very fast but the battery indicator might not detect it as quick as it should. It happens all the time. Even my phone does.
