Re boot server

Hi All,
We been trying to start the WAS 2004s since yesterday, but we are not successful. It was up and running 2 weeks back. Didn't change anything. Following is the trace log, how to trouble shoot?? and what could be the reason?

Hi Navin,
Have checked file <b>jvm_bootstrap.out</b> at location <i>\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\work</i>. Is there any error.
Still before hand let me try once. Just check your internal database user. Check whether its locked? Or password is expired.
And hopefully it will resolve your problem.

  • Boot Server on CD for cross Subnet Jumpstart

I'm looking for a way to do cross subnet jumpstart installs without a boot
server local to the subnet. Is it possible to create a boot server image
on CD similiar to the Jumpstart CD process listed at:
    http://www.sun.com/solutions/blueprints/0301/BuildBoot.pdf and have it
point towards my jumpstart server for config/install?
If forced I will build the custom Jumpstart CD but would prefer to boot
remote systems from CD then point back to my Jumpstart Config/Install
server. Easier for standards with one server then multiple releases of
    CD's floating around.
If anybody has experience with this help would be greatly appreciated. My builds will be 2.8 and soon migrating to 9.
    Thanks!

I did something KINDA like this for Xterms and their boot server. My customer was using Cisco routers. On Ciscos, the IOS config command I used was "ip help-address <IP> or something very similar to that. If I remember correctly, you can also replace IP with a network address in case you needed to move the bootp server around on that network and don't want to continually update the router configuration with the new IP.
Of course, I can't say if this will make a Jumpstart client work. For the Xterms, it worked just fine. Their boot server was 4 networks away - which geographically was about 120 miles away and they booted just fine.

  • Boot server for solaris clients

Can any one give me the steps to configure a temporary boot server .. so that i can boot one of my failing server which does not have cdrom .
I do not want to configure full fledge jumpstart box .. i need it just for recovery purpose. And i want to set it up in one of my other servers .. which is running several solaris zones.

Setting up a "full" jumpstart server is quite easy. You just don't have to make lots of customizations to enable non-interactive installs.
Run the setup_install_server on the media to copy the data to the server. If using CD sets, go through each of the other disks and run the update_install_server scripts. Then run add_install_client in the destination Tool directory to set up all the config files for the client.
(It's possible to skip the first step and do the client setup from the DVD directly, but this is usually simpler).

  • Regular (non-boot) server classes found in Java -classpath

I can't start the weblogic server from the start menu at all. Neither the console nor server menu works. I get this error:

SO is there any fix for this? I get this after installing SP9. Things work fine
    without SP9

  • P45 Platinum will not boot Server 2008 with 2x2GB...

I was working through the night last night to get my new rig built and installed with the new SP2 of Server 2008 and was having problems that seem to point to the mobo not liking the optimized settings for my 2x2GB.  Hopefully my signature has all the system specs necessary - but do ask if I've left anything out.
    What I did:
    - Built system with minimal HW:
         CPU & cooler, PSU, 2x2GB (slots 1 & 3), GeForce 8600, 2x250GB SATA2 HDs (ports 7 & 8 for JMicron) , 1xSATA2 DVD-RW
    - Got POST and configured BIOS:
         Load optimized defaults, reset time.
    - Added Rest of HW, got POST and configured RAID:
         - Integrated Peripherals - RAID Mode:  RAID
         - Integrated Peripherals - On-Chip ATA Devices - RAID Mode:  IDE
         - Save &  Exit
         - CTRL-J:  Built 2x250GB JMicron RAID
    - Boot to Server 2008 install DVD
         - Loaded RAID driver and installed to RAID
         - Installation continued (at a wonderfully fast pace), until it hung about 90% through
    - Tried re-installing several times, trying things like reconfiguring RAID, using different drivers, etc.
    - Then I removed the 2nd RAM in DIMM 3, and re-install completed without a hitch.
    - Booted from RAID, configured Server 2008.
    - Installed drivers for Intel P45 Chipset, GeForce 8600, Ethernet, and Audio
    - Retried having 2 x 2GB in DIMM 1 & 3, and reboot hung during Server 2008 loading bar
         - Tried DIMM in 2 & 4 with same results.  Again, system POSTs with no problem, seeing all 4GB.  But OS hangs on load.
    - Ran MemTest on each RAM separately, with no problems after an hour each.
    - Put the 1 RAM back in DIMM 1 and used LiveUpdate to successfully Flash BIOS from v1.2 to v1.6
    - Reconfigured BIOS (optimized defaults and JMicron RAID)
    - Rebooted to Server 2008 successfully with only 1 RAM in DIMM 1
         - Tried DIMM in 1 & 3 and 2 & 4, and again hung on OS load.
    - With only 1 RAM installed, the OS flies.  I did lots of application and utility experimentation to ensure all was functional and stable.   Even Defraged the RAID, so I'm pretty sure no HDD problem.
Based on all the forum posts I've read, I'm not sure about why it POSTS but doesn't load the OS, but I bet it has something to do with the mobo being unstable with the default settings for this RAM.  Seems too bad as I tried to pick a decent RAM for future OC potential.
Out of fairness, I should point out that I have not yet tried blowing away the OS and reinstalling with my only other option - XP Pro SP3 - and seeing how that fairs.  My guess is that it too will be unstable.
Fortunately, I'm still having fun tinkering - so no real frustration to speak of.  But any advice on what to do next would be much appreciated...

Finally, in response to RemusM's request, here's the CPU-Z info for Memory, SPD and CPU using the Optimized Default BIOS settings and 1x2GB in DIMM 1:
Then, I spent a late night last night browsing the forums and searching the web.  I found a dude with the same mobo, memory and an E8400.  He was having similar problems and listed some recommended BIOS Cell settings.  I put in my 2x2GB, removed the HW OC FSB jumpers on the mobo and entered the following settings into BIOS Cell and gave it a try:
    Multi-Step OC Booster:  Mode1
    DOT Control:   Disabled
    Intel EIST:  Enabled
    Intel C-STATE Tech:  Disabled
    Adjust CPU FSB Freq:  400
    Advancd DRAM Config:  (all Auto)
    Enhance Settings:  Auto
    NB Drive Configure:  Auto
    FSB/DRAM Ratio:  1:1.00  (1333:667)
    Clock Gen Tuner:  (all Auto)
    Adj PCI Freq:  Default
    Auto Disable DRAM/PCI Freq:  Enabled
CPU Voltage - ICH Voltage:  (all Auto)
    Spread Spectrum:  Disabled
Not only did now my system now boot successfully into the OS for the first time with 2x2GB installed, but it seemed stable through my OS config and application installs.  What's more, for the cost of taking the DRAM down to 800MHz, I now had the CPU at 3.8GHz!
    Here's the new CPU-Z results:
    What's next:
    - I need to further test stability by downloading and running some decent benchmarks of some type
    - I'd love to get some advice on how I could further tune the above settings for increased stability and even better performance, as the memory and CPU seem capable of more if the mobo is...
Thank you for the input and attention so far.  Please keep it coming...

  • Re: P45 Platinum will not boot Server 2008 with 2x2GB... -l- split

Can I ask how one would go about setting a CAS Latency of 7 or 8 on the Platinum p45?
    I have the same crucial PC2-8500 and BIOS 1.6. I'm happily running the RAM @ 500MHz, 6, 7, 7, 24 (I think!) and FSB 375.
I would love to go further but can't set the CAS Lat' higher than 6 (options run 'Auto' through '6').
I understand PC2-8500 isn't supported by p45 but having read the last post here wondered if it SHOULD be possible to reach this RAM's full potential on the Platinum p45 with such timings 7, 7, 7, 20 or 7, 8, 8, 25 etc??
I have read on this forum that some have had RAM issues with BIOS 1.6 and I will try the 1.7D beta BIOS.
However any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    D.

Sorry Henry - I thought it was quite on topic.
    This particular RAM default @ 1067  7, 8, 8, 24.
So when 'Optimized defaults' are loaded the Platinum p45 sets timings of 6,8,8,24 @1067 and thus the system wont boot (The origin of the Server 2008 boot problem no?!)!
The last post in that thread indicates that a CAS Lat' of 7 or 8 could be used.
The question is can a CAS Lat of 7 or 8 be set on the Platinum P45 or is this post simply saying "it could be. On another motherboard"?
    Cheers

  • PT 8.53 Windows Server 2008 R2 Error on booting domain.

    Hi all,
We are setting up a test environment for PT 8.53 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Everything in the installation went correctly then we try to boot the domain in PSADMIN for the first time we are getting an error when trying to:
    exec BBL -A:
CMDTUX_CAT:816: ERROR: Cannot exec, executable file not found
tmboot: WARN: No BBL available on site <server name>.
Will not attempt to boot server processes on that site.
Tuxedo info: Oracle Tuxedo, Version 11.1.1.2.0 with VS2010, 64-bit, Patch Level 056
Just seeing if anyone else has come accross this or has any ideas we could try.
    Thanks.

Interesting, when you did the configure step in psadmin, did BBL start then or does it fail there as well? I've not installed 8.53 yet anywhere, but in my 8.52 env, doing a reconfig will start the BBL to ensure things are shut down. My guess is it fails, which I think would cause your configuration to not occur maybe?
    Command to execute (1-10, q) : 4
This option will shutdown the domain.
Do you want to continue? (y/n) [n] :y

    1 process started.
    Attaching to active bulletin board.
What if you get all your env variables set, and try to run tmadmin by hand?
    set TUXDIR, PATH, PS_MACH, PS_HOME, PS_CFG_HOME, PS_SERVDIR, PS_SERVER_CFG, TUXCONFIG, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, NTSYMBOL_PATH, APPDIR (I think that's all of them, I'd have to look again)
then from cmd prompt run tmadmin
at the tmadmin prompt run boot -y
that would extract psadmin from the process, if that fails to find BBL, then I think you might need to pull out Process Monitor from sysinternals, and trace the tuxedo start process, which will show you what path BBL is really being looked for in, and possible help you solve this. Thanks for getting back to me! I think you are right in that this would be a question more geared toward to the Peoplesoft folks. The post is there, so thank you for that. However, you noted a key observation that led me to want to investigate more. If we look at a past post that speaks to your observation (ORACLE Initialization or shutdown in progress I believe it gave me more clues to go by. I do shared the same thought as the poster in that, the DB should have started as the service started for the DB as already. At any rate, I ran the instructed command in SQL, I got this script:

  • Tuxedo Server booting problem

    Hi All,
We have two node server setup.
    for
    Machine = ARS_A
    SCSTART1
    and
    Machine = ARS_B
    SCSTART2
If I start server SCSTART2 its staring in node A (Machine = ARS_A) not in B.
    tmboot -g SCSTART2
    Booting server processes ...
    exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
    on ARS_A -> process id=17912 ... Started.
    exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
    on ARS_A -> process id=17914 ... Started.
    exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
    on ARS_A -> process id=17915 ... Started.
    exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
    on ARS_A -> process id=17916 ... Started.
    4 processes started.
tlisten, BBL, DBBL everything is OK. I tried to shutdown and start also but again its starting from Node A.
Can you please help on this.

    Prasenjit

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 DNS service issue with BitLocker

I recently installed BitLocker on a Windows Server 2008 Platform. I did not encrypt the boot partition because the server hardware BIOS did not have the necessary requirements to encrypt the system drive.
The Server roles are ADSM, DC and File Server. For DC operation I am also running the DNS service.
When I installed the DNS role I was prompted to install the Log files on a different volume than the OS. I did this, but unfortunately, it was the same volume that was encrypted.
Since I could not encrypt the system disk, the encrypted volume must be unlocked via password in order to mount. Here in lise my problem.
When I do a full reboot of the server, I get to the point in the boot process where my mouse is visible and operational (this would be just before the Windows OS logo displays, I believe), then the server reboots. On the next boot up I am given the diagonstics
and recovery dialog because the OS failed to boot.
I believe the failure is the DNS service trying to launch, but because the log files are on the encrypted drive and it has not been unlocked, the system sees this as a security problem and reboots
Does this make sense? If it does, is there a way to boot 2008 R2 with the DNS service disabled, say with the original install disk in recovery mode?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this system cannot be booted in its current state.
    Peter C. Hesse Network/Systems Administrator

    Hi,
I believe you mean the Active Directory Logs not the DNS logs, because these are necessary to startup a domain controller, because the AD database depends on these logs.
So if you have AD logs on a different partition and that is encrypted with Bitlocker you could probably automatically unlock it.
So you did not encrypt OS partition because the server does not have a TPM fully compliant chip ?
    manage-bde /?
    manage-bde -autounlock -enable Driveletter:
But you have to be able to boot server normal mode I am not sure if the command can be used in DSRM mode.
Below are some links that might help:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/c52ffc7d-f822-4b61-b633-46f8e04eac80/bitlocker-for-domain-controller
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Calin

  • How can you run a command with elevated rights on a remote server with invoke-command ?

I am trying to run a script on a remote server with invoke-command.  The script is starting and is running fine, but the problem is that it should be running with elevated rights on the remote server.  On the server where I start the invoke-command, my account has the necessary rights.
The server were I launch the invoke-command is a W2K8 R2.  The remote box is a W2K3 with powershell v2.0 installed.
When I launch the script on the remote-box from the command line, I don't get the access denied's.
Is there a way to do this ?
    Thanks in advance

The script that I want to run is to install the windows updates.  I get an access denied on the download of the updates.
When I execute the script on an W2K8 box, (not remotely) and I run it with non-elevated rights, I get the same error.
The script is running fine when it is launched on W2K3 box locally with a domain account that has local admin rights, or on a W2K8 R2 server with a domain account that has local admin rights, but with elevated rights.
Thanks in advance for your help.
