Re: Bought a Chromecast did not receive $20 Google Play credit

Hi, I purchased a Chromecast yesterday, 1/30/15, in store and did not receive the $20 Play credit on the receipt or on my offers page after activating the Chromecast.
I made sure to purchase it before the promotional period ended to get the play credit...  Any help would be appreciated!

I'm sure you were excited to receive a $20 Google Play credit with your Chromecast purchase! It's discouraging to find you may not have received a Google Play credit. Using the email address you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your purchase. As it is my understanding that these codes would have expired on 1/31/15, I am looking into what other options we may have for you, and will reach out to you as soon as I have more information.

    Congratulations on the purchase of your Chromecast!  Google certainly has a hit on their hands and offering a bonus $20 Google Play credit with it definitely helps sell it as well!  I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties that you are having with the credit.
    During the time frame you purchased your Chromecast, we were aware that the Google Play credit promotion was not always being added correctly to customer orders.  In looking over your order, this seems to be the case with you as well.  I have some additional information for you regarding your credit, so I’m going to send you a private message with those details.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope in the upper right hand corner.

    Wi-Fi has nothing to do with SMS (unless you are using some 3rd party message app)
    SMS piggyback on your phone line and is a carrier service.
    You should make sure your carrier has your text plan properly provisioned.

    The gift card was from Apple and on campus venders. If you bought the Mac from someone else, then you didn't qualify. If you did buy from Apple or an official on campus Apple partner, speak directly to them.

    Creative Cloud apps are not licensed via a serial number. Serial numbers are for perpetually licensed (non-Cloud) products.
    With Cloud (subscription) software you sign in with your Adobe ID.

    In other threads people are comlaining, that their code does not work, however I did not receive any, allthough I definitely should, because I bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago.

    You are the TOP Tech company of today. Everything is hightech, synced, cool and with no compromise. So let me TRY to understand this one little interestng phenomenon. When I buy a mac online, all the detailed are stored in YOUR system: S/N, date, name, address, my uncle's name, and my dogs breed. Here comes the day when I claim that I am eligible for the redemption code for ML. What do I do? I go to YOUR website, enter my Apple ID, Purchase date and S/N into YOUR system.
    In a normal (note that I did not write ideal) world, the same system is able to compare the data I enter with the data in the system and issue the code in no more than a minute or two. For some reason You guys don't think that comparing few details is such a trivial task and it has to be done OFFLINE (perhaps manually, by looking up dusty folders...?) and then sending out an email up to 72 hours later.
    ML is not going anywhere. It is available now and will be until the next iteration. But for crying out loud, how did you manage to make a complete blunder of such a simple thing as issuing a redemption code?
