BT are incompetent liars with the worst customer service ever. I suggest contacting the MD of customer care Warren Buckley at *********** or through twitter wazza_bt.
Stand up to this faceless organisation before you get endless broken promises, a sub-standard service and the worst customer service you will ever experience. Just when you think you have reached rock bottom you will get unsolicited junk mail and cold calls from BT.
You will also need to request a rebate for your loss of service or they wont refund any money.

What an absolute joke BT are. I was told that that tie pair modification needed to be done at the exchange in order to fix the original mistake by BT Wholesale. I was told that this order was to be placed between Monday (13 Aug) afternoon and Tuesday morning, and that it would take 3 working days to complete.
So, I thought to myself, at least I will get my internet back this working week, after 5 weeks of no service that I am still paying £35 a montg for.
Today, after receiving no callbacks as promised, I have to AGAIN chase up BT as to my case status. Lucky that I did - BT Wholesale CANCELLED the repair work for no readon. As a result, I apparantely need to wait 24hrs before another repair order can even be placed!

    Having moved address, it became obvious that BT failed to migrate my broadband properly. Despite having several microfilters, cables and two functioning routers I was still forced to waste time 'checking if the blue light is on' and 'resetting my hub', before waiting for an engineer to come out and tell me what I already knew weeks ago from my router diagnostics: there is no fault with my telephone line or equipment. This was confirmed by both the Openreach engineer and BT tech support - BT Wholesale DEACTIVATED my broadband, despite having no deactivation order from BT or any other provider.
    So essentially I for the last month I have been paying for 'Total' Broadband that I am unable to use due to the staggering incompetance of BT. I am sick and tired of waiting 15 minutes to get through to Customer Support, only to be told that different excuses each day. Oh, the issue resides with the exchange? Wait, today it is BT Wholesale! No, sorry, it is the fault of Openreach! More frustrating are the promises of 'it will be fixed in 48/72 hours', of which I have had several now. When these timescales conclude and I still have no broadband, I call up Customer Support and, after holding on the phone for the seemingly requisite 15 minutes, they have no idea who is meant to be sorting the problem out!
    This is beyond a joke now. I rely heavily on the internet for work, banking, paying bills etc... I want something done about it, not morr excuses and buck passing that I am paying for the privilege of listening to.

  • No decent internet service for months. Many techs and modems. Outrageously crappy support

    So att switched our service from dsl to uverse a long while back. Seemed fine at first except for the raise in price. Old Internet was working fine but after the switch nothing worked. Called support and they sent a technician out. The tech said that the line doesn't reach and we had to wait. So we did. Nothing for a week. Called support again. They sent us a modem. Reinstalled the modem. Still nothing worked. Called support again and they sent out another tech. The tech solved the issue temporarily and there were issues again. Called support again and they sent us a new modem. This is the cycle that has repeated for the past 6 months. We have been paying for Internet without receiving any service and getting nothing but major frustration. I cannot amount or describe how crappy at&t as an internet provider is. There seems to be nothing we can do to get service and at this point I'd begin to not recommended any at&t service to anyone anymore. Major dissatisfaction. At&t would not begin to understand the frustration that support so claims. At this point on it'd be hard to describe my frustration without cursing.

    Totally understand. I moved last year and was automatically put on uverse, not given a choice. Have had techs out a dozen times. I am so tired of telling the same story over and over again. I don't want their same old trouble shooting and can't take off work again for att.. I am going to report my intermittent phone/internet problem to the FCC. Mine is up and down many times a day. This is my last step before I drop ATT. You shouldn't have to pay for services you aren't getting consistently.

  • Best HP laptops to provide service for

    I am not a computer tech, but a civilian who would like to service his own HP laptop in order to save money on repairs.
    I saw a refurb (dv6-6c35dx) on bestbuy that did have a service model, and I expect to be in the market for a new or refurb HP laptop in teh very near future.
    (1) Are there certain product lines that do/don't have service manuals available?
    (2) Also, are there certain product lines (for laptops) that would/would not be recommended for an amateur wanting to service his own laptop (I do have some experience doing this with laptops in the past)?

    Service manuals are available for all HP laptops here. Current laptops are much harder to work on than say 5 years ago. They are much flimsier and there are a lot more internal components. It would be similar to somebody who had worked on cars in the '60s trying to work on a modern car. Having said that, many things are doable by a skilled first timer. Screen replacement is a good example. And in any event there is very little repair. It is mostly identification and replacement of defective components. Anything other than a complete motherboard replacement is doable for an "amateur", really, but the motherboard replacement is a common necessity. The other rough rule of thumb to keep in mind is that the ease of service is proportional to the thickness of the laptop. The large 17 inch desktop replacements have more room inside to work on them. Again, kind of like cars. And don't forget you have this Forum. We can usually help troubleshoot and identify the problem component; is it hardware or software, etc.

        I have been a verizon customer for going on 10 yrs I am also hearing impaired. Now i can imagine with the technoligy these days the amount of deaf and and hearing impaired people who use texting for there primary source of communicating,  I dont know uderstand why a company the size of verizon  doesnt have service such as chat capablilities for customer support on there website for the millions of people who can not understand or hear on the phone and use texting for source of communicating. Can you Imagine being on the phone with customere support trying to hear or understand what the person is saying, and explaining to the rep your disability and the rep keeps talking and talkin? its very frustrating! So please verizon get with the program and provide services for all your customers deaf and hearing impaired people will be very gratefull for a chat options for support on your website!

  • JCo RFC Provider Service

    This topic may be not relevant to this forum but has anyone used JCo RFC Provider service for maintaining RFC Destinations?
    What I am trying to do is to store the RFC Destinations over here and have a lookup on JCo RFC Provider service (or on its program id) from mapping tool.My code looks like
    javax.naming.Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    ctx.lookup("JCo RFC Service"); or
    ctx.loopup("Program id name");
    But while testing it gives Object Not Found exception.
    I am expecting it to return JCO object which I can use to connect to SAP for executing RFCs.

    Did u check if the Prog Id mentioned in JCo RFC provider is running (started in visual admin).
    Did u perform ur lookup properly

  • Automating Essbase clustering using Hyperion Provider Services

    I am testing Essbase clustering using Hyperion Provider Services for high availability of cubes. I have created an Essbase cluster and added cubes to it using EAS. Since cubes get update during interday, I want to add/remove cubes from the cluster. I could do this process manually in EAS but prefer if I can automate this process. I was told that I could use either JAVA APIs (prefer) or XMLA to automate adding & removing cubes to/from the Essbase cluster. Unfortunately, I cannot find any documentation that mentions the names of the JAVA APIs that I should call to succeed this process. Could anybody help me please?

    Assuming you are on V11 then if you have a look in \Hyperion\products\Essbase\aps\samples\japi and there is java example of creating clusters :- CreateCluster.java
    Java API docs available in \Hyperion\products\Essbase\aps\docs\japistart.htm
    If you are on an earlier version then the directory structure will be a little different.

  • SmartView 11.1.1.1 fails to connect to Provider Services

    Background: Using 11g db, Essbase Spreadsheet Add-In works, Can connect to Admin Server and Essbase with EAS, all Windows services start up fine, installed as 'Deploy Essbase in standalone mode'.
    Problems:
    1. I get the following error trying to connect the SmartView Add-In in Excel to Provider Services:
    Cannot connect to provider. The attempt to connect to the server failed. Make sure the server is running in the specified URL.
    Here is my URL: http://localhost:13080/aps/SmartView (I've also tried substituting in my hostname.)
    2. I get the following error trying to connect to the Hyperion Provider Server with EAS:
    URL http://localhost:13080/aps/APS is not reachable. Please enter another Analytic Provider Services URL.
    (I've also tried substituting in my hostname.)

    I installed EPM 11.1.1.2 on *"BOX1"* (Essbase stand alone mode) and EPM11.1.1.2 on *"BOX2"* (Essbase stand alone mode)
    The provider server creation is giving me trouble on Box1 as it says *"URL http://Servername:13080/aps/APS is not reachable. PLease enter another Provider Services URL"*
    I tried with localhost @servername(as I was trying to connect from the Box1 only) Stil its not able to create.
    I went to services and checked the "Hyperion Provider Services - WebApplication" service and I restarted to make it work several times and still the same problem.
    Where as, I'm able to create a Provider Server on *"BOX2"*
    I need your expertise advise on why this problem is on my *"BOX1"* and how to get rid of this problem?
    I checked with netstat -ae command to see the server port# 13080 is listening too.
    Any help is well appreciated and very useful for me!!

  • Service for network file system fails to install

    Installation of the File Service and Service for NFS in Windows 2008 R2 server fails. Following are the steps used to perform the install.
    Open Server Manager from Start> All Programs> Administrative Tools> Server Manager.
    Click on the Roles node in the left pane, and then click the
    Add Roles link.
    On the Add Roles Wizard welcome page, click Next to continue.
    From the list of roles to install, select File Services, and click
    Next to continue.
    On the Introduction to File Services page, click Next to continue.
    On the Select Role Services page, keep the File Server box checked and select
    Services for Network File System. Click Next to continue.
    On the Confirmation page, review the settings and click the Install button.

    In Windows Event long I can see the following events logged:
    Event 3002, Port Map:
      Windows(R) failed a request to register RPC Port Mapper on TCP port 111.  RPC Port Mapper cannot start.

    Based on a technet forum I have already checked and made sure there is no other service running on port 111 (command used is netstat -a -b -o).

    As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.

    My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
    the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!

  • Failed to create Proxy for EMFBuilder Service

    Hi,
    Am installing Eclipse Gemini & Eclipselink as JPA provider in Felix container.
    Both bundles are installed fine. After having my persistence bundle that has entity classes & persistence.xml, am getting below error.
    Though the persistence bundle also installed with Active status & EntityManagerFactory got initialized, still getting the below error.
    Need someone's help on this as soon as possible.

    This is strange. This ldapsearch is failing to find the locator object in the tree under dc=ph.
    - Can you try this same command from your FRD DC too and find the result ?
    - Is your server non-name mapped or your adding a DSfW server into an existing eDirectory tree (name mapped) ?
    - If it is later can you try the same search with '-b' parameter replaced with container to which FRD is mapped to into the eDirectory Tree.
    - Can you tell in your setup where are the locator object present for your first DSfW server which is acting as DNS server ?
    - While installing this ADC server, you have given the remote dns server as 192.168.81.92. In the YaST DNS screen did you do retrieve (by clicking 'retrieve' button on the screen ) or you entered those inputs manually ?
    - Another follow up question. The locator context provided to the ndsdcinit command in your first post, is 'ou=OESSystemObjects,dc=vec,dc=apd,dc=com,dc=ph'. Can you confirm your locator
    context is correct ?

    It seems the scheduled task "SvcRestartTask" has been corrupted, and please try to replace this task and follow the steps below:
    1. Export the "SvcRestartTask" task in task scheduler, and save this .xml file as "oldSvcRestartTask", this steps is used to backup the current task.
    2. Delete the SvcRestartTask task under the path Microsoft|Windows|SoftwareProtectionPlatform in Task Scheduler .
    3. Make sure the SvcRestartTask file was removed from C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\SoftwareProtectionPlatform folder.
    4. Export the "SvcRestartTask" task from other running server with the same Operating System Version, and copy the exported .xml file to current Server with the name "SvcRestartTask".
    5. Select the SoftwareProtectionPlatform branch of Task Scheduler (Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > SoftwareProtectionPlatform).  Right click on it and select "Import Task", and import the "SvcRestartTask.xml"
    file.
    6. Check the Evnet Viewer.
