Re BT swapping calls charging from my ISP Provide...

My gripe which is ongoing is BT moving my calls charging from Virginmedia to BT on the 5th of July without my consent.
This is after being told by BT that this procedure would not take place (20th June), even though in my Account page of the BT website it stated the charge would occur on the 5th. Regardless of this BT moved my calls to themselves from VM. In the process they have denied me my call/broadband package deal with Virginmedia which  as a result of this  has become more expensive.
Being told (on the phone) when I asked to be emailed, that I would be reinbursed for call charged  doesn't really help matters when the change  is all BT's fault!!!. So I'm incurring  charges calling BT, Virginmedia not to mention trying to sort out this mess.
So frankly BT are not my flavour of the month just now....if ever again!.

Hi Buchanloon,
If you can fill out the contact us form, in the "about me" section of my profile, we can look into this for you!
Cheers,
Chris.

  • I installed a new router from my ISP provider and now I can't find my Time Capsule or "Guest" network.  What do I need to do to correct this problem?

I installed a new (and supposedly better & stronger) router from my ISP provider (Verizon) and now I can't find my Time Capsule or "Guest" network.
My Mac is not backing up because it can't find my Time Capsule network & my "Guest" network has also disappeared.
What do I need to do to correct this problem?

You must reset the TC to factory and start over. The TC simply remembers too much from the previous setup to work in the new one.
If your new router is going to take the router role, then the TC will have to be bridged and you will lose your Guest wireless.. the way around this is to use the Verizon router as your guest wireless and the TC as your main wireless.
    The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
    Factory reset Gen 5
Hold in reset for about 5sec until the status light flashes quickly.
If your AirPort Time Capsule still doesn’t respond, do a similar reset to the Gen1-4.
Unplug your AirPort Time Capsule .. hold in reset and power the TC back on.. without releasing the reset.. wait until status led flashes rapidly.

  • Workshop 8.1 Calling EJB from Custom Authentication Provider

I am writing a custom authentication provider that runs on Weblogic Server 8.1 and also on Workshop 8.1. Everything is packaged into a jar file that I put into the mbeantypes directory. From the authentication provider I want to get an EJB home that is on another Weblogic 8.1 server.
Loading the home from the Weblogic server works great. But in Workshop I get a ClassCastException from the PortableRemoteObject.narrow() call.
This happens in Workshop even if I remove all my application jar files, so I am left with nothing but the startup classpath and the files in the mbeantypes directory. That is, I don't have any classes in two directories.
When I look at the class that I actually get back from the call to context.lookup( jndiName ), I get the same stub class back on the Weblogic Server and on the Workshop server. But only on Workshop do I have this casting problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Issue has been resolved.

  • I was trying to log in using my credit card, and was unable to. However when I checked my checking account i seen there was 4 charges from itunes. But, i was never able to sign in. I would appreciate a PERSON contact me to explain why this happened.

    Hello,
Last night my daughter was trying to log in to take care or some apps she has. While she was doing so, she got a message that said credit card was declined. Three time that popped up on her. then I tired with my credit card, and the same thing happened. So I left it and tired calling. But do you think there could be a person to talk with **** NO. Now I am stuck doing this. So anyway's sorry to rant, I Checked my checking account today and found there were a charge from itunes of $1.38 on it. I then looked at my daughter account and found 3 charges of the same amount. Mine ended up getting a overdraft fee of $35.00.
My question is. What are you going to do about this? If I am unable to log in how can I get charged? does not make a hole lot of scene to me.How about you?

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Is the credit card registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management
Each time that you add or change your card details then a temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid (though that is usually $1 or the approximate local equivalent) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702
Did your daughter owe any amounts to iTunes ? Does anything show on your purchase history : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727 ? If they are proper charges which you don't think that you should have then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    Tutorial - Perl and Java
    SYNOPSIS
Java and Perl have different strengths and complement each other well.
You can connect them at runtime with tools such as JPL, PJC, or ActiveX. In
theory, you can convert Perl to Java bytecode, and vice-versa.
    Note:
    Not actually a conversion.
At this stage, we are generating Java opcodes by walking Perl's syntax tree.
This is very different from converting Perl to Java. It's a lot easier!Java source with embedded perl, or perl with embedded java, depending on your perspective. Cool!!! Double way cool with cherries on top.
I honestly had no idea that such a thing existed. Thank you.
Edited by: corlettk on Feb 12, 2008 1:20 PM
Note: At the time this presentation was prepared, JPL did not work with Perl for Win32. However, JPL is in the core Perl distribution, and there are plans to make it work with Perl for Win32. With that in mind, I'm presenting the JPL material first, because it is of interest to both Win32 and Unix Perl people. The Win32-specific stuff (alternatives to JPL) will come last. I won't be offended if the Unix people leave when I get to this section ...
A subset of JPL now works on Win32. You can embed Java in Perl, but you cannot embed Perl in Java (yet).

  • I have been receiving charges from apple itunes and nothing has been purchased.  Trying to talk to someone live is a nightmare.  How do I get ahold of someone to help me with these charges before they start to really negatively effect my bank account?

I have been receiving charges from apple itunes and nothing has been purchased.  When I look at the charges on my online banking a phone number is provided, but when I call that number it tells me to go to the web site.  Trying to talk to someone live is a nightmare. How do I get ahold of someone to help me with these charges before they start to really negatively effect my bank account?

You've checked the purchase history on your account to see what app(s) they are from ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases. And you haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098 ?
If you haven't made them, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and may have made them, then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Can I call iPhone from iChat on OS X 10.5.8?

How do i call my wife's iPhone from my desktop?
    I have Mac OS X 10.5.8

    Hi,
In Leopard there is no way to "directly" connect to an iPhone.
However the Phone can run a Browser and then it can use AIM Express.
AIM express is a web Browser login to the AIM service.
    See http://www.aim.com/products/express/
    Apple IDs
These can come in many forms.
At one time you could just list a "name" of sorts.
Later it become any email address or one Issued by Apple.
One of the early names issued by Apple were those ending in @mac.com from the .Mac service (Dot Mac).
These later became "iChat Names" when the MobileMe service started (They gave people names ending @me.com)  (The Link in this sentence goes to the @mac.com Registration page, which at one time did read "iChat Names").
Then there was the @me.com name issued by MobileMe.
MobileMe started to be ended over a year ago.
The last people who registered were in June 2011 and have their account extended to the 30th June 2012.
Now you can register for an iCloud Account and this will give you another @me.com ending name.
    NOTES
However this newer iCloud @me.com names will only work as Valid AIM names in iChat 6 or above due to the way iChat 6 logs in to me.com that then allows AIM to access the password.
Any other form of Apple ID such as using the email from your ISP or an Yahoo, MSN, Google or similar email will not automatically be an valid AIM name.
You cannot create an Apple ID from another one  (though iCloud is an exception).
So the link above to the @mac.com registration page requires an Email Address to be linked to it that is not already linked to another Apple ID.
This may mean that you cannot directly link an Apple ID you have to @Mac.com.
An AIM Registration may be the way to go.
These can use the linked email as many times as you want to set up names.
As the @ symbol is a valid character within a name then you can register an email directly.
Just to remind you, if you create an @Mac.com name then the password needs to be kept to 16 characters or less  to work with the AIM servers.
    Summary  (with some restating)
iChat is an App that can login to the AIM service  (An AIM Client)
There are many AIM clients on both Macs (Proteus, Adium) and PCs (Trillian, Pidgin) as well as the AIM for Mac and AIM for PC apps themselves.
You can also login On line in a web browser which AIM refer to as AIM Express.
This last method is capable of text Messaging to people (Buddies) logged in via other clients (Apps).
This way the phone could use an AIM screen Name via AIM Express in a Browser whilst you sit at home with another AIM valid Name in iChat.

I got this message when I just finished my online ordering. "We're Sorry. Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later." and I didn't get confirmation email yet but I've been charged from my credit card already. Any suggestion please?

I am having the same issue. When I try to update my payment information I receive an error that states, "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later.
After Adobe's servers were breached I received a phonecall from my bank, stating that someone had used my credit card at a hotel in Mexico (I live in Ohio). I closed that credit card and was issued a new card. I want to update my card information on my Creative Cloud subscription. I chatted via the web with a customer service rep today. He was anable to help me. He suggested I call the Care Center. The hold was estimated at 2 hours. All I want to do is update my card information so the next time Adobe automatically bills for my subscription the transaction doesn't bounce.

  • Why does Verizon call me from unrecognized CA number - 949-286-3973?

It appears that you (Verizon) are calling my cell phone from an unidentified California number - 949-286-3973. From a brief search on the Internet, this seems to be what you are doing. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!!! I understand it to be a survey about customer service but I do not answer scam calls (any number I don't recognize is a scam caller to me, especially a robo call that does not leave a message). This is the same complaint you know you have heard repeatedly from a lot of your customers but you have determined that you don't care and just keep on doing it. Every time it happens, we have to take the time to research it and figure it out, total bull and you are ******* customers off. Call them from a recognized number or do not call them at all.
This is just like the problem I called about a few weeks ago where you allow $3 to be charged by your company representatives (Verizon brick and mortar store) to process a CASH payment, how stupid is that? IT'S CASH!!! DAH! Dumbest thing I've ever heard, and yes it is your responsibility regardless or your insistence that they are franchised, you allow them to access your system to process the payments, that is totally on you and to say otherwise is just a lie.
Again, I and most customers consider these type of unrequested unrecognized calls a form of harassment. If you are trying to improve your processes and customer relations, you are going about it in completely the wrong way!

I got a call today from this number - since I use my phone as a business phone and do get calls from clients or potential clients that I do not have in my contact list (yet), I DO answer calls where I do not recognize the number.
I answered it, it was a survey, took about 3 minutes to punch in a few numbers, and then hang up.  They probably won't call again unless I call customer service again, which was what triggered this call today.
You've done the research, take the survey and be done with it.

  • Swapping phone purchased from Dell w/add-a-line

We recently added an additional line to our Family Plan, for my son. We did this through Dell (really, the transaction went through Simplexity, which also runs Wirefly), and by doing so we got a discount on a Fascinate.
My son decided he doesn't like the Fascinate and wants to swap with my wife for her Alias 2. Normally I'd just do a *228 swap but there's a clause in the Simplexity documentation that if you "transfer this equipment to another line of service after it is activated" they might charge the instant savings discount back to me.
Am I reading this right...that if we swap the phones from one number to another within our family plan, Dell/Simplexity will charge me their $300 fee?
Anybody have any experience with this? I asked their customer service about it already, but their reply seemed to miss the mark and the rep didn't even know about their "fine print" regarding the rebate charge-back. Anyway, I'm leary of just going ahead with the swap...

You've understood the situation correctly, if you swap the Fascinate to another line of service, even on the same plan, they will charge you the ETF outlined in their contract.  They can offer that steep discount over other Verizon channels (like this website and Verizon branded stores) because of the commission they get from Verizon, but if the phone leaves the line or any changes are made within the first 6 months, their commission is charged back, and they pass that loss on to you through their ETF.
Are you within their return period?  That's really your only way out until the 6 months are up.
I just received the phone from WireFly and did not activate yet. It was purchased at discount rate on primary line. Can I activate it on the secondary line and keep it at that number. I will keep the data plan on the secondary line
In their Instant Service Discount it's stated "You transfer this equipment to another line of service AFTER IT IS ACTIVATED", so there will be no change AFTER activation. Is this going to ttriger Verizon to notify them of change in service?

  • Someone calling you from outside the United States

If my friend calls me from Australia and they use either a land line or a cell phone. Am I going to get charged extra at all even if my plan is older on my cell phone? I only get 500 shared minutes a month at the moment for all types of minutes except M2M. Also what type of minutes am I going to eat (i.e: my everyday plan minutes or roaming) if I am currently in my home state in the US? Also is it going to show up on the bill differently then normal than any other type of call?
Feedback and such would be much appreciated! Thanks

As long as you are in the US when you receive their call, you will not get charged anything extra for receiving this call.

  • Unauthorized charged from iTunes

Recently I changed my debit card and my credit card because unauthorized charged from iTunes. I just got my new credit card 3 days ago, never been used for any online purchase. I am scare to input my credit card for any kind of purpose. Today I found out online, I have pending unauthorized charged from iTunes. I own iPad and iPhone, I have never purchased any iTunes .When I bought my iPad and my iPhone, I never entered my credit card and my debit card number on Apple profile. I had downloaded free APP only. I don't understand why I'm getting charged from iTunes. I never received proof of purchased. On my Apple information, I have only provided name and my addresses. When I sent email to apple support, the customer service told me to check my purchased history. It doesn't make any sense to me, my purchased history from iTunes is ZERO downloaded. On my bank account had 10 unauthorized charges, all were from iTunes. In my credit card (old card had 1 charged) and now the new one has 1 pending charge. What's is going on?? Can anyone help me please...

If these charges are being made to a credit or debit card, the most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Also, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.

  • IPod will charge from Windows 8 Laptop but won't connect to iTunes

I have a 4th Gen iPod 32GB that's about two years old or so. After upgrading to iTunes 12, I could not get my device to so much as charge from my laptop, never mind sync. So after screwing around the control panel and trying to figure this out on my own (because frankly, Apple isn't very helpful) I was able to get the iPod to charge from the laptop, however it still will not even show up on the top left menu bar as seen in the picture. I've tried using the old shut down and restart method, recovery mode, swapping USB ports and cables, even uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. Still nothing. So I try it on my Mom's desktop (Windows 7) (iTunes upgraded to 12 there also), and it registers my iPod and it will sync just fine. I've looked at other community threads and the ones I've found are two years old and the advice didn't work for me anyway. Normally, I would just use the desktop iTunes instead but its a completely different library and I've already purchased songs that I want to put on the iPod. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?
