I have a salon the phone is very important and since beginning of last week my phone line got ceased and cut off no warning or any thing i have lost alot of business and payments as i have a card machine as well. BT kept saying my line is not with them and i needed to ring my provider any way to cut story short my provider rings me today and says that i should have my number back and line on thursday well its not good enough as i finish then for easter and re-open on the tuesday. This is two weeks that i've lost money/business what are BT going to do about it?

this is a communty forum for BT Retail where customers help customers.
your phoneline would be fixed by BT OPenreach and they will only deal with your provider as that is not BT.  you need to go back to your phone provider and see if they can help
there is nothing that can be done by BT Retail on this forum

  • Phone line not working but Infinity is Fine

    We had a huge thunderstorm last Monday, which caused a power cut.
    Since then, our phone line is dead (it just makes a clicking noise), although if you ring our number, it appears to be ringing (which it isn't).
    However, BT Infinity is working even faster.
    I did the on-line check of our service and it says there is no fault, and so if I call out a BT engineer, it could cost me £130!!
    I'm sure it isn't working, as I've tried an old cordless phone (which I haven't used for years) and I still get the clicking.
    I've read that one of the wires may be dead, but I don't know what course of action to take.
    Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

  • Problem with phone line not working when BT Infini...

    I have  a weird problem I have no Broadband and no my phone is dead, however when I take out the Broadband cable from the socket my phone line then gets a dialing tone but still no broadband. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Try a different dsl cable. Sound like either the cable or the modem is shorting somewhere.

    Hi Can anyone fron BT help me please I am totaly gutted !! my phone is not working and according to BT there is a problem on my line...I live in a remote hamlet where a phone is vitally important as my mobile does not work very well any way!!  I was told it would take till the 5th August to repair! Come on BT You must be joking!! I am an older person have health issues i am aslo very nervous of where i live...SO PLEASE somebody help me to get my phone sorted out much more quickly..Thank you so much.
    I know where the Exchange is Its not far away honest!!

    Depends on when you reported it, but if yesterday or today then by the 05th August seems about right, remember weekends don't count

    How do I report a fault if my land line phone is not working? The BT website seems to assume that at the very least the broadband line is working but this is often not the case. Please could you make it crystal clear what phone number to call to report a fault? (e.g. if calling from a friend's phone or a mobile).

  • I was trying to update and sync my iphone 4, the process stopped, now the phone does not work and itunes appears not to "see" the phone? suggestions?

    I was trying to sync and update my phone with ITunes, about 5 minutes into the process everything stopped.  Now the phone does not work, it will not turn on or off, the screen of the phone shows the Apple Logo and a straight line.  ITunes seems to not "see" the phone.  Suggestions??

    Hi, I am using teleblend. I have connected Linksys SPS 2102 directly with modem and computer. I did WAN setup. After finishing setup, I am able to get internet at my computer. But the phone is not working. Even when I change the phone port to port1 or port2, still it is not working. Can anyone help me in this?

    Nithi: where you able to check if the registration state says REGISTERED when your provider checked the SIP settings? If yes, I suggest trying a different phone -- if it says NOT REGISTERED or FAILED then you can further isolate the problem by trying a different VoIP like the one on the link below.

    johnboy2146: try to check the value of Line Voltage under Info tab (PSTN Line Status) if the PSTN is not in use and when it is in use ... i'm not sure if this will make any difference but try a different value for FXO Port Impedance under PSTN Line tab > International Control (try 900)

    Cconnect it to your computer with the latest version of iTunes installed.

    Try rebooting it and connect. Make sure you're connected directly to a USB port using the Apple USB cable.

    The mic on my iPhone4 has just quit also. Similar symptoms to yours in that people I'm talking to hear only static or my voice very faintly. The voice/memo recorder also only really records static.
    It happened suddenly and seemed to get better after a day or two but then went completely after another day.
    I'm returning it to Vodafone New Zealand shortly but will have to wait 5-10 days for a replacement. There are NO Apple accredited means to speed this procedure up in NZ.
    We don't even have a single physical Apple Store where you could walk in and talk to a Genius.

    I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
    As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
    I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
    As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

    So, I called today to see if I could upgrade, as my contract for 2 yrs is up on Feb 20th.  I've replaced the Droid once already.  It was broken, just not by me. Now the thing won't even work, at all.  I need this phone as I work for a major company and we use these devices at night to contact one another.
    Anyway's, Rep 1 transferred me to Rep 2 saying "Rep 2 has more authority than I".  Rep 2 immediately began finger pointing.  Basically, said Rep 1 didn't feel like dealing with my situation.  So, he was angry, talking fast, and would not "HEAR" what I needed to say.  He offered me a few idea's but in the end said he would not / could not help me, although my phone is NOT working, AGAIN. 
    I told him I would probably be going to another provider, he then began to berate all other provider's.  Gosh I hate when CSR's do that ! 
    So,looks like I'm outta here, and this saddens me.  I KNOW he could've helped me, he chose NOT too.
    9 years I have been Faithful to this Company.  This is the thanks I get? Man, this is so Wrong, on so many levels.
    I am sure of one thing:  Another provider would be happy to have me as a customer.

    I tried to update my iPhone 4s to the ios 6 and it wouldn't download and my phone will not work.  I started the download and it said that it had 6 hours remaining, so i just left it overnight.  The next morning it was working fine, but the ios 6 didn't download.  I looked at it later and it had the turning on screen with the loading bar under it.  It stayed like that for a while and the bar didn't move.  I needed to use my phone so I tried to make it go to the home screen, but nothing happened. I held down the lock and home button for a few seconds and everything went black.  I tried to turn it back on and all it has done all day is stayed on the turning on screen.  I tried plugging it into the wall, and nothing happened. I tried connecting it to iTunes, and nothing happened. I don't know what I need to do to get it to work.
