The website is a joke. I simply want to know what the cost per minute is on pay as you go, for calls from Spain to a UK landline. All I keep on getting is the rates page which does not work. I am going round and round in circles. How hard is it to find out the answer to a simple question.

    FaceTime is free to use. You will not be charged for using FaceTime.

  • BT Softphone and call charges.

    I'm not sure where I should post this as it relates to my Broadband Talk and Softphone software.
    The BT Softphone software has a Country selector in its Help>Call Charges but doesn't show all the countries of the world. Thinking it wouldn't cost much after looking at similar countries that were in the list I went ahead with a call to the UAE.
    When I received my recent BT bill I found that I had been charged £9 for my 9min call to the UAE. Also the billing was rated as a Standard BT call.
    Why was this? I was using VOIP over modem (BT Softphone) to make the call and not my landline.
    Can anyone explain this.

    If a country isn't listed, then BT wouldn't have a cheap VOIP link to that country. The call would be routed over the traditional phone network and billed accordingly.

  • Re BT swapping calls charging from my ISP Provide...

    My gripe which is ongoing is BT moving my calls charging from Virginmedia to BT on the 5th of July without my consent.
    This is after being told by BT that this procedure would not take place (20th June), even though in my Account page of the BT website it stated the charge would occur on the 5th. Regardless of this BT moved my calls to themselves from VM. In the process they have denied me my call/broadband package deal with Virginmedia which  as a result of this  has become more expensive.
    Being told (on the phone) when I asked to be emailed, that I would be reinbursed for call charged  doesn't really help matters when the change  is all BT's fault!!!. So I'm incurring  charges calling BT, Virginmedia not to mention trying to sort out this mess.
    So frankly BT are not my flavour of the month just now....if ever again!.

    I have embed a link in my blog http://pluseurope.over-blog.com  for calling a third party. I like to have call charges apply to my account as blog owner.
    Reverse call charges and forwarding are not solutions in this case.

    I chose hong kong but then it asked me for $$ and I don't want to give them my $$.

  • Call charges to the Canary Islands

    Hello,
    I just wanted to know why does BT differenciate between calls to the Canary Islands and calls to the rest of Spain?
    They have the same numbering system, are as much part of Spain as Madrid or Barcelona, calls to/from the islands cost the same as calling any other region in Spain. Plus there's no way at all to differentiate a mobile phone from Spain or from the Canary Islands since the area codes are the same.
    This really puzzles me since this is the very first time in my life I've seen this (excluding the Canary Islands from the rest of spain) in terms of calling charges.
    It's like having a Spanish telco charge more to calls to Northern Ireland than to calls within England, Wales or Scotland.

    Calls to the Canary Islands are treated separately in wholesale terms, ie, the space that we buy on networks to send calls, and historically they have had a higher delivery cost than those for calls to mainland Spain.  That’s why there is a difference in the prices offered by us and other operators for calls to these destinations.  We are constantly reviewing our prices and may look at this area in future but there are no plans to make any changes at this time.

    Yes. It will completely disable the cellular radio. You can turn WiFi on while the  phone is in Airplane mode, so you can used data when connecte to a WiFi network.

    Hi, perhaps you are referring to AOC, Advice Of Charge, it's a message the telco sends to tell customer the charges per call.
    Unfortunately Cisco router cannot use this information in any way.
    Or else please clarify in which context you've heard the term.

  • Skype Premium & calls to preferred country

    Dears. I have subscibed Skype Premium 3 years ago. Only few days ago I have realised I can call to land lines in my preferred country free of charge as it is included in subscription fee. Is that correct? If I try to create new Skype Premium accoount, it works but not for my existing account - I simply cannot find where to activate such option. May someone help me please? Thanks.

  • International Calling charges $2.50 per minute

    I used the *611 tool to add international calling to my plan. It was super easy but I've been financially assaulted with charges. Here's how things transpired:
    1) Dialed *611 and stepped through the options, some via key strokes and verbal direction, ultimately I added international calling to my plan.
         a. At no point in this process was I prompted by the automated system of my potential charges; I was not advised of them via email or text either. I      thought that was strange but, unfortunately, moved on with my day without follow-up.
    3) Approximately 1 week later I called my friend in Australia and spoke approximately 60 minutes.
    4) Bill arrives: $237.55. It's normally $74.51. A 218% increase!
    5) Called customer service (spoke with Anthony) on 3/17/15. Was advised that I was charged $2.50/minute for my international call plus taxes!!
    6) 3/20/15 Anthony called me back, as he was granted approval to provide me with a $30 credit. Anthony provided excellent service and support by demonstrating kindness, listening and follow-thru, and I say this NOT because I was provided a credit, but because he truly was pleasant to work with.
    My grievance is in regards to what I feel are deceptive practices: no confirmation of charges upon adding international calling via *611, nor was a confirmation email or text sent to my attention. Why? Can this be improved?
    My requests: more thorough advisement to your international calling customers when making the *611 tool as accessible as it is. Sure, I like ease and keeping it simple, but I don't like the lack of communication that I was provided and the outrageous charge. On behalf of myself, current and future customers, I ask that you review this particular feature within the *611 tool.
    I've taken my lessons from this process and I ask that you consider my circumstance so to improve the customer service experience.

    I know International charges can add up fast, jai4. I'm sorry the automated process was not clear of charges.
