I am having a similar problem with my Skype account. I am running version 5.7 on my iPhone and the latest version (I downloaded it on Nov. 13th) my laptop. On neither one am I recieving contact request from a friend nor is he recieving any of mine. The only contact request I have received was a stranger's.

If your Skype Credit balance isn't showing in Skype please note that you haven't lost your Credit. It should update when you will place a call. In some cases, when a Skype Credit balance has not updated after a purchase, making a call can force the update. I cannot receive email properly on either my IPad or my IPhone. I have had them for over a year and they have always worked fine. Until three days ago, when they both started acting up. On the IPad, when I open mail, it says it is downloading about 1,700 emails. At the very end, which takes quite a while to get to, I finally get the most recent ones. The IPad is sending emails just fine.
On my IPhone, when I open mail, it says it is downloading 100 emails, but it doesn't do that. And it gives me no new emails at all. The IPhone is sending email just fine.
I have already deleted the email accounts on both devices and reinstalled them. I've contacted the Internet service provider and verified all the right settings. The Outlook email on my desktop is working perfectly.

WMV is a heavily-compressed format/CODEC, and the processing time will depend on several factors:
Your CPU, which is not that powerful in your case
Your I/O sub-system, which is likely a single HDD on your laptop
The source footage. What is your source footage?
Any Effects added to that footage. Do you have any Effects?
Each of those will have an impact on the time required.
The trial has only one main limitation - the watermark. Now, there are some components, that have to be activated, but are not with the trial, but they would be evident with Import of your source footage, if it's an issue.

Now, my old phone is gone and my new phone cannot receive texts from people who have iphones and had me as a contact before. They try to send an iMessage and I have no way to receive an iMessgae now. On some server somwhere my AppleID still tells people they should send me iMessages. What is the solution to this issue? Deleting my AppleID would work to solve this issue, but I cannot ever delete the ID? What can Apple do for this?

If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.

amyhs, thanks for those details. This is certainly quite odd that this has been going on so long and we definitely want to get to the bottom of this. Now, you stated that you have reached out to technical support and spoke with a tier two technical support representative. At this time, what actions or troubleshooting steps were taken? Are you aware if a ticket with our network technicians was ever created? As well, have you ever previously had an iPhone and are you aware if the users that are unable to message you are using iMessage?

Cannot receive contacts through "Share contacts via sms"

Whenever I try to share a contact (by going into contacts and selecting "share contact" and then selecting "message") the recipient receives a text message saying <<contact_name.vcf>> but they cannot import that contact. It doesn't matter what phone they received the contact with, be it iPhone or otherwise. The same happens when I receive a .vcf file from someone else on my iphone (again doesn't matter the origin, iphone or otherwise).
I've also tested this problem and recreated it on all of my friends iphones. They are all iphone 4 and running at least iOS 5.0. Anyone know whats going on? Thanks!

I cannot receive texts from 1 contact, why?

i have one contact that I cannot receive messages from. I can receive messages from my other contacts. The contact reveives my messages to her. I have restared my phone, deleted and re-entered the contact information. What is up with this?

One person in my contact book (a non-iphone user) cannot receive text messages anymore. Any suggestions? The only thing done different is my nice did try to face-to-face them (by mistake). I delated the call attempt, delated the text history, even delated and re-installed the contact information. HELP!!

To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps
Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you're roaming on a cellular provider network that is different from your billing provider's network.
Make sure that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar of your iPhone.
Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. If you can't send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above. MMS might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
Restart your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Remove your SIM card and insert it again.

I'm sorry, but we had made so many changes (the Advisor and I) and it was only after I shared y home screen with him that he had me disable my anti-virus firewall....and everything worked fine afterwards. We went through a number of steps including removing a number of neighbors wifi signals and most important was the changing of the wifi channels.If anyone is using an Anti-virus program, I would suggest that they disable the firewall and then see if their devices connect to the same wifi.

Receiving unsolicited contact requests.

I only use Skype for chats & video calls to my relatives in Australia. Normally I do not receive unsolicited contact requests. I have had them before and they seem to follow either new Skype updates or my Skype activity. I video called OZ last week and I am now receiving 6 or 7 unsolicited contact requests from young women in Africa/Asia each day now?Yes my settings only allow my contacts to contact me and yes I block all the unwanted requests; but it is annoying and upsetting because I do not know how & why it happens and I cannot stop it.Apparently neither can/will Skype?My apologies for being repetitious, I'm just blowing off steam.

To stop the calls to your Skype Number from strangers go to: Tools>Options> Privacy Settings>Allow calls to my Skype Number from phone numbers in my Contact list only>SAVE
Then please contact Skype customer service explain the problem and ask for a replacement number.

I cannot call my contacts and their calls don't co...

Can someone please help me. I can't call any of my contacts via skype. I can text them and they can text me but we cannot connect via phone or video. Can you please tell me why this is happening?
I have read all skype's messages and solutions for help and none of them address this directly.
The only call I can make is to the Skype Test Call. I have checked my connection, my mic, video, internet speed and everything is working so I don't know what's going on. I logged out of skype on my desktop, tried with my android and still nothing. I restarted my computer and again nothing.
I have skype credit so can call mobile phones but I need to be able to video chat and call my skype contacts directly and for some reason, it's not working...most of my contacts are based abroad so it's vital I have this component; if not, then there's no point having skype.
Can someone please help!!!??!?!

I have had the same problem the last 3-4 months or longer. The only and fastest workaround I have for this issue is:
Ctrl-Alt-Del
Start tast manager
Find Skype and "End task"
Start Skype over again.
Then I can receive and make phone calls. No problem the rest of the day...
Do not like this workaround, but I have no other alternaitves.
Maybe the solution is to make Skype "Not start" automatically when log in. That I will test now
This can be changed in:
Tools - Options
General settings
Hook off - Start Skype when I start Windows

Cannot receive files automatically

I am running skype 7.0.0.102, ie 11 , on win7 desktop. The option "automatically accept incoming files" is checked. However I cannot receive files automatically from any contact. I work with time difference and this would be vital for me. Same problem on my win 8.1 laptop. Tried reset settings in ie, delete temp files...etc...What am I missing?

That's a weird selection of extensions.
By all means, no file is "safe": we're on Windows, and Windows by default hides the known extensions; and on the other hand, even non-misleadingly named files from that bunch can contain dangerous things (MSOffice file formats and JPG certainly can).
There's absolutely no reason to assume that a txt file is more dangerous than a doc file.
On MSN Messenger for example there used to be some kind of integration with the system antivirus service, that could be done in skype too (and I'm sure it's possible in a much better way, I'm sure). And then just allow autoaccepting anything. Like in Skype for Linux.
Though to be quite honest, it is not the IM software's task to keep the user's machine safe. And a resident virus scanner will notice the new file whether or not it's explicitly called by the IM, so let's just scrap what I said in the previous paragraph and let's get an unhindered autoaccept.
