Re: Color cartridges being used when not printing color

Recently we have purchased 3 LaserJet CP1518ni printer for our office. Because we do not normally print color at these workstations we turned off the color options. All of the documents printed at these workstations have only been black and white. However our color cartridges continue to empty.
In  ‘Printing Preferences’  under:
‘Color’ - options have been set to manual and the Color/Black Only options has been set to ‘Black Only’.
‘Printing Shortcuts’ - Color options are set to Black & White
      ‘Paper/Quality’ - Print quality = 600 dpi.
I do not mind paying for color if I am printing color. However since I replaced the color cartridges the first time, I made certain no color documents had been printed but the levels of the color cartridges continues to reduce.   Why?

I have two 2600n color laserjet printers.
One has color fading down the left hand side and I understand that this is due to dust accumulating on mirrors and laser.
More worrying is that the second printer will not print the color red at all - it gives an orange output

  • Low ink warning for color cartridges, but I have not done any color printing in HP6700

I have an Officejet 6700 All-in-One.  I moved about a year ago.  When I installed the printer I got a warning that the color cartridges where low.  I replaced the color cartridges.  I have gotten the same warning of Low ink in color cartridges, but I have not done any color printing.  During the year I have printed no more than 10 test pages that have color, but no other color printing.  I leave the printer on all the time.  Could this be why the color ink warning appears?

    Hi,
Each time you turn on the printer, it uses color inks even you don't use color inks to print. It needs and uses color inks during warming up process.
    Regards.

  • HP Photosmart C5380 not printing colors as it should

I'm having a problem with printing. Up until the other day I was printing ok, but suddenly when I went to print instead of printing red, a yellowish orange color was printing, and purple was printing a very light blue. I cleaned the printhead, which resulted in red printing in yellow. I used the clean printhead option on the printer settings, colors are printing mostly ok. Just some lines are more faded than others. The colors that print with this are orange, green, purpule, yellow, pink and blue. I also tried to print in grayscale, which ended up printing in green. Any ideas of how to fix this problem??? Thanks

  • C6380 suddenly not printing colors

My HP 6380 is only a month old.  It was working fine until a day or so ago when it quit printing colors.  I was getting a low ink reminder, so I replaced the the yellow, magenta and cyan colors, but it is still not printing the colors.  Help!  Jennine

OK, lets check the default settings on the printer driver:
    - Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
    - Right click the printer in question, Printing Preferences
    - Check on the different tabs for a wayward setting (key suspect would be: is "Print in grayscale" checked under the Color Tab?).
As a good tip, this is where you set the default settings for a printer.  If you just hit print from any application and do nothing else, these are the settings that are used.

How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.

I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways  do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible.

I will try that. Thank you.  I am hoping to buy a wifi hotspot, but wondered what type of data plan I should get if I were to use it consistantly for 8 hours a day (only on saturdays and sundays).  A great tool for work & presentations!!
It will use minimal internet bandwidth unless your content is streaming from web>iPad>AppleTV.
Local network comms for content already on the iPad (eg presentations) will not generally use internet bandwidth apart from protected iTunes material that requires brief internet authorisation.

  • Aggregates being used or not

    Hi,
I have an Infocube and also have aggregates created and filled in them. When I run the query on this InfoCube, I want to know if any of my aggregates are being used or not. Can someone please tell me how I can find this out? My BI version is 7.0
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    1.  Use different parameters in ST03 to see the two important parameters aggregation ratio and records transferred to F/E to DB selected.
    2. --- sign is the valuation of the aggregate. You can say -3 is the valuation of the aggregate design and usage. ++ means that its compression is good and access is also more (in effect, performance is good). If you check its compression ratio, it must be good. -- means the compression ratio is not so good and access is also not so good (performance is not so good). The more is the positives...more is useful the aggregate and more it satisfies the number of queries. The greater the number of minus signs, the worse the evaluation of the aggregate. The larger the number of plus signs, the better the evaluation of the aggregate.
if "-----" then it means it just an overhead. Aggregate can potentially be deleted and "+++++" means Aggregate is potentially very useful.
    Refer.

    3. Run your query in RSRT and run the query in the debug mode. Select "Display Aggregates Found" and "Do not use cache" in the debug mode. This will tell you if it hit any aggregates while running. If it does not show any aggregates, you might want to redesign your aggregates for the query.
Also your query performance can depend upon criteria and since you have given selection only on one infoprovider...just check if you are selecting huge amount of data in the report
Check for the query read mode in RSRT.(whether its A,X or H)..advisable read mode is X.
    4. Use RSDDK_CHECK_AGGREGATE in se38 to check for the corrupt aggregates
If aggregates contain incorrect data, you must regenerate them.
Note 646402 - Programs for checking aggregates (as of BW 3.0B SP15)
    5. Check   SE11 > table RSDDAGGRDIR . You can find the last callup in the table (last used).
    6. Use the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS (Performance of BW infocubes) to see the aggregation ratio for the cube. If the cube does not appear in the list of this report, try to run RSRV checks on the cube and aggregates.
Go to SE38 > Run the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS
It will shown dimension Vs Fact tables Size in percent. If you mean speed of queries on a cube as performance metric of cube, measure query runtime.

  • CS3 will not print color pictures

Photo Shop will not print color pictures. It printed fine for over a year then just quit printing in color a few months ago.  A work around was given by our Higher head Quarters but when printing this way the pictures do not print properly and the pictures can't be adjusted or modified any.
Machines having this problem are running Windows XP.
What are the proper setting for this program?
Do I need a software update?

Check the updater and make sure you installed the updates for Photoshop CS3.
But most likely this is a configuration issue with your printer driver.
Many drivers do have settings that force black and white printing, overriding what the application sends to the driver.

  • HP Photosmart 7525 not printing color correctly

HP Photosmart 7525 will not print color from any application.
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium.
    Grayscale is not on.
Tried printing with discolored background correction
Tried each of the color management options separately from discolored background correction and combined with it.
Replaced the ink, and the result was worse!
The quality report shows no color ink whatsoever, and from the display, it looks like the printer believes it has no color ink left.

Attempted to clean cartridges and align the printer through the display pad: no luck.

  • Officejet 4630 printer makes high pitched whine even when not printing

I just bought an Officejet 4630 printer for home use and noticed it makes an annoying high pitched whine whenever it's not sleeping, even when not printing.  Is not very loud, and would not be noticeable in an office environment due to ambient noise, but is obvious in a quiet home environment.  Is this normal for this model or is the unit defective?  Neither of my two previous inkjet printers made this noise.

    Hello,
If your OfficeJet 4630 is within the standard warranty period, please contact HP technical support to speak to one of our agents who can troubleshoot and diagnose this issue.

Yes - if you have an Oracle database the JVM is being used.
There is NOTHING to 'clean up' as far as the internal JVM that is part of Oracle.
You can NOT modify it or upgrade it. And if you remove it Oracle will also remove your database.
    See the Database Installation Guide
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/install.111/b32002/remove_oracle_sw.htm#CCHBABDE
In the Inventory screen, select the Oracle home and the products that you want to remove, then click Remove.
    Note:
If you choose to remove Oracle JVM, Oracle Universal Installer removes all installed products that depend on Oracle JVM, including Oracle Database 11g.
