Re: Creative Cloud app gets stuck on spinning wheel on Mac OS 10.9.5

Jeff,
Thanks for your reply.
OK, so I am using approved OS 10.9.5 and am still having the same issue. Is there anyone who can help me get my CC apps installed on my second, studio machine?
Or does the installer only work one time for every membership?
Can you point me to the solution to my problem? A web site or technical group that can really help me?
Thanks,
Bob

Branching this to a separate discussion.
Bob please try the steps listed in App doesn’t open | Progress wheel spins continually.  We have found a recent conflict with CS5 updater inventories which can cause the behavior you are describing.  If you can please update this discussion with the results it would be appreciated.

  • Creative Cloud app gets stuck on spinning wheel on Windows 8.1

Ok DL the cloud app it never gets to the log in. I used the information like
From the same gear icon in Creative Cloud, choose to Quit Creative Cloud.
Rename the OPM.db file that is located in the OOBE folder located here:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Windows XP: \Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
    Windows 7: \AppData\Local\Adobe
    Change the name to OPM.db.old
    Relaunch Adobe Creative Cloud.
Sign back in to your Adobe ID.
Then locate the OPM.db file successfully?  If so then please also try removing the contents of the OOBE folder which contained the OPM.db file.
Not working still so I did everything here https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-app-doesnt-open.html and nothing.
I went as far as uninstalling Java

  • Repeatedly getting stuck on spinning wheel and grey screen, even after multiple re-installs of the OS

Ok, so running Lion on a MacBook, (2010 i think) and the OS got corrupted(stuck on spinning wheel and grey screen on boot)
Tried to repair the disk via disk utility using an install CD, no go, couldn't repair, so, did a clean install.
New install went fine, computer worked for about 3 days and then stuck on the spinning wheel again.
suspecting physical damage to the harddrive, I installed the OS to an external, and booted from there. Worked for a couple days and then stuck on the spinning wheel.
I have repeated the process 5 times now, each time it works for a little and then craps out again.
    What's going on?
as a note, when I say it gets stuck on the spinning wheel, I have left it for 12 hours trying to boot to no avail.

The Apple Hardware Test doesn't always detect all errors.
Next time you get the gray screen/spinning wheel, try booting into the Safe Mode to see if it will boot.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Creative cloud installation gets stuck on initializing installer

    HELPPP!!!

    Thank you for the information.
We will try with clean installation process.
    1) Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
    2) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder.
    3) Click on the below link and download Adobe Application manager and install the same :
Once the installation process is completed , it will create Adobe Application Manager shortcut icon on Desktop.
    http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/creativesuite/cc/win/ApplicationManager8.0_all.exe
    4)
Important  : Disable AntiVirus and Firewall temporarily .
    5)
Double Click on Adobe Application Manager shortcut icon on Desktop.
It will start update process and gets updated to Creative Cloud desktop app.

  • How do creative cloud apps get installed without asking for administrator?

The title says it all but I'll reiterate. How do CC apps downloaded with the Creative Cloud desktop app get installed without asking for administrator user/password? Its the sam on both Mac and Windows and I don't understand how its doing it. This seems like a security hole to me.

JscottCMD are you installing the Adobe Creative applications with a Creative Cloud Individual subscription?  If so please see Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html for information on how to install the applications and updates included with your membership.

  • Creative Cloud download getting stuck. Direct Photoshop download without Creative Cloud?

    Hi,
I am trying to download Photoshop. First they tell me to download the Creative Cloud, which I did.
But when I ran Creative Could it downloads for sometime but then gets stuck. Maybe because I am from India and the internet is terrible here.
The download just plain disconnects after some time. There is no network activity anymore.
Is there a way I could get it working without downloading Creative Cloud?
Like download with a download manager so that I can resume my download manually.

CHeck the dev center deployment guides. They should have links for alternate downloads to build custom packages and you can use that.

  • My creative cloud app that at the top of my Mac screen has disappeared where can I find it?

My creative cloud Icon that is normally positioned at the top right of my Mac screen on the menu bar - (Creative Cloud Connection preview Icon?)
Its disappeared where can I find it, and put it back ?
I have opened Photoshop and at the top under help I clicked on check for up dates and it comes up for about 5 seconds saying checking for up dates and then it cuts out and brings up a message that says Adobe Application Manager quite unexpectedly.
I have tried to reboot everything and install Creative Cloud desk top and it gets half way and then stops, just sits in one place unable to down load.

Nzdmalan the Adobe Creative Cloud application can be found in your Applications folder.  Are you able to access the application itself?  Is your computer managed by an I.T. department?

  • Can I disable Creative Cloud App Manager for only 1 account on Mac?

My Mac has multiple, managed user accounts. The CC application manager is installed globally for all user accounts, and constantly phones in on those user accounts, including one that is managed and restricted. Is there any way to disable the CC application manager for just one of the user accounts so that I don't see the constant warnings about attempts to contact restricted sites?
    Thanks.

  • Creative Cloud apps all stuck at 42% when installing.

I'm not joking when I say it's been nearly 28hrs and I'm still trying to find out how this program pipeline can be so messed up.
Look at it. That cold unfeeling 42% just sitting there, looking at me...mocking me. This happens with every CC app.
I have tried the direct downloads also, but what happens is interesting:
    Start installation
"Preparing for Installation" displays for 3 seconds, and then immediately says Installation complete. No progress bar update or anything. Clicking launch does nothing. I go to the installation location, and nothing is found. No folder for the specific app (even photoshop) or anything.
I have tried different administrator accounts, policies, permissions. I went on 5 different crusades now, deleting everything under the Adobe name from temp, program files, even the registry. I have soared across different forums looking for an answer, trying each and every method that comes onto my screen. No avail. I have been through 7 (not joking) tech support guys and gals, not one could help me no matter how hard they tried. I have booted under selective startup with NO programs other than Microsoft's services. Still nothing.
This is without a doubt the most frustrating thing, next to debugging, I have came across.

After the extracting phase, it lands on 42% and hangs. I then killed the adobe help process. It still hung at 42% and eventually gave me the error:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled for a total of 10 times now.
I have 0 security programs with nothing affecting system files.

Did you install anything new? there was an update to Safari last week.
Launch Safari in safe mode to disable plugins.
You may need to look into booting your Mac with Command-R to repair your disk or even reinstall Lion.
The best place would be Lion and Safari forums, and just to let you know this is not the forum for MacBooks or MacBook Pro.
Also, make sure you are using one or more backup drives and methods, we all need them at some point.

  • Uninstalled Creative Cloud app and several applications, now can't install package

I am our CC for Teams administrator. An employee had Creative Cloud app and several applications already installed on Mac workstation. I uninstalled those applications, and I'm trying to install the custom package I created, but it appears the installer does a complete install of the apps, then uninstalls them all and returns an error message saying that the package can't be installed. Is there something else I need to uninstall to allow the package I created to install successfully?

When I open Muse, I get a message that a new update is available.  When I hit install it just closes and nothing happens.  Then I got a message  I needed Adobe Creative Cloud App to resolve the issue.  I downloaded a copy of Creative Cloud desktop but it says that my Muse is up to date.  It was last updated in May but you have a new update today and it will not update.  I thought maybe I am not suppose to have the Creative Cloud update because all I have is the individual app Muse and the photography program.  So I uninstalled the CC desktop.  Then when I open Muse it says I need the CC desktop to help with the update.  So I get stopped either way.  Now I also had a Pre-Release Muse on my computer and I don't know if that complicated things.  Please advise.

All future installs/updates of Muse (and most other Adobe apps) are through the Creative Cloud desktop app. Thus you do need to have it installed.
Are you on Windows or Mac? What OS version?

  • I lost my creative cloud apps from my computer when it crashed. I don't have the download link anymore just the serial # and registration date. How can I get my apps back?

Hi, I'm new on the forum. I decided to try this since Adobe phone support has been abysmal. I purchased Adobe Creative Cloud, installed and registered it on Feb. 25 2013. Since then my computer crashed and I lost the programs and the link to download. I still have the serial # and the product shows up in my account under Registered Products. How can I get a download link?
    Any help appreciated,
    Bill
