Re: Demand calculation from forecast figures

Hi All experts,
I am trying to configure a test scenarion for my client.
He has a scenario where the demnad for the FG will calculated from the previous consumption figures.
To map this I have tried to use the forecast view of the material master where I have entered some dummy figures & executed the forecast for constant model.
Please advice if I am following the right method.
So whenever the month is over the user will run the forecast again so that the system will calculate the new requirment.
this is for the fast moving material. for the slow moving fg product I have used the same concept But also I have used the automatic reorder point + safety . so the system calculate  the new requirment
Please advice.
Regards,
Vivek

  • Releasing demand plan from DP into custom categories in SNP.

    Hi Gurus,
    I need to release the demand plan from DP into SNP custom categories Z1 thru Z4. The key figures that I mapped to these custom categories are created in a non-standard planning area (copied from 9ASNP02).
    I am able to release the demand plan using category FA only. Can anyone help me in releasing demand plan into these custom categories in SNP.
    Thanks,
    Shiv.

    Shiv
    I did a F1 help on target category  field in tcode /n/sapapo/mc90 and this is what i found
    For the release of the demand plan to Supply Network Planning, you can specify a category that tells the system which category of orders to release to. An entry in this field is optional, but if you do enter a category it must be a category that represents sales orders or forecasts, such as FA or FB.
    You can also release to categories you have created yourself. This allows you to distinguish, for example, between different forecast priorities.
    The system proceeds as follows:
    1. Has a category been entered in the release profile? If yes, this category is used.
    2. If no, has a category been set in the definition of the requirements strategy in Customizing? (You define the product's strategy in the Proposed strategy field on the Demand tab of the product master record.) If yes, this category is used.
    3. If no, category FA (forecasts) is used.
    So as the F1 help says in the release transaction /n/sapapo/mc90  did you try giving the custom categories ? Also i have one more idea - after the forecast gets released to category FA , copy it to a key figure that is assigned custom cateogries Z1 to Z4.
    But just want to understand something . Why do you want to release it to a custom cateory instead of FA ? How are you going to handle the consumption of forecasts by sales orders if you release it to custom category. I think releasing it to a custom category will make your process more complicated since you are altering the standard SAP functionality.
    Thanks

  • How can I get a calculation on one field to complete after calculation from another is done?

    I have a form that is used to calculate mileage for multiple trips.
    Miles to be reimbursed field (reimb1) is calculated from miles drive minus personal commute (for example, I drove 20 miles, but 5 of it was from my home and not reimburseable). AFTER that calclation comes up that number (theoretically 15 miles) is used in a total miles field regardless of whether or not I'm calculating one or multiple trips. From there, a hidden field calculates the total miles multiplied by the currect mileage reimbursement rate of .565.
    The way I have the various fields set up does in fact return the correct miles (15), but calculates on the 20.
    How do I get the total miles to "react" on the final number that shows in the reimburse field.
    Also, on odd numbers, it's not rounding up. I've seen several of your posts here and others in a general internet search on how to "round up" but I can't get them to work (probably because I can't get the other fields to work!). In the above hypothetical, I need the final answer of $8.48 to show for the reimbursement amount, not $8.475.
    The form also doesn't seem to reset itself. For example, if I resuse it or if I go back and make a correction, it still uses the very first entry I put in some of the fields. I've never had this happen.
    Thanks,
    Page

    When you reset a form it goes back to the default values, which are not necessarily blank... You can edit that value under the Properties of each field.

  • Is there a way to get the calculator from the dashboard to appear along with other programs?  Can anyone recommend a calculator which will work as a stand alone app?

    AS it stands now, in order to use the calculator that comes with the Dashboard, you cannot read from a list of numbers in, lets say, word or excel. The dashboard is full screen and nothing can stand along side it. Is there a way to get the calculator from the dashboard to appear along with other programs?  Can anyone recommend a calculator which will work as a stand alone app?

    there is one, just search with spotlight "Calculator".
    It works great!
    Hope this helps.

  • Condition Type for item calculated from delivery date

    Dear Experts,
    We need that the condition type MWST for PO item will be calculated from Item delivery date ,
    But we see that always in Analysis pricing the efected date is PO date and not item delivery date .
    Please advise how we should configure the condition ?
    Thanks,
    Moshe

    Hi,
    In standard configuration you cannot set item delivery date as a pricing data.
    Maybe you shoud look at SAP enchancement - in dedicated structures you can pass additional item data (structure KOKMP).

  • How to create Button which size is calculated from its text ?

    I think JButton works like this: either in constructor or by setText() method the text is set and according the lenght, font and fontRendererContext preffered size is calculated before the layout manager ask for the prefferedSize for first time.
    I want to override paint() method because i want to draw my own text(and the only way i discovered how to force button not to paint text is to set text to
    null or empty String). I want the button to be as long as length of text plus insets.
    But layout manager ask for preffered size before paint method is invoked but i find out what size should be in paint method because i need graphics
    parameter to get FontRendererContext from it. So layout manager shrink button to minimum because first time the preffered size calculated from null or
    empty String is returned.
    public class MyButton extends JButton {
            public MyButton() {
                this.setText(null);  //or setText("");
                this.setContentAreaFilled(false);
                this.setFocusPainted(false);
                this.setBorderPainted(false);
                                                          ////already here i need to know what the size should be
            @Override
            public void paint(Graphics g) {
                Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
                TextLayout textLayout = new TextLayout("MyButton", this.getFont(), g2.getFontRenderContext());
                Rectangle2D boundsOfText = textLayout.getBounds();                                                                    /////////here i find out what size should be
                this.prefferedSize = new Dimension((int)boundsOfText.getWidth()+10,(int) boundsOfText.getHeight()+10);
                g2.setColor(Color.WHITE);
                g2.fillRoundRect(1, 1,(int)getPreferredSize().getWidth(),(int) getPreferredSize().getHeight(), 10, 10);
                g2.setColor(Color.BLACK);
                g2.drawRoundRect(1, 1,(int)getPreferredSize().getWidth(),(int)getPreferredSize().getHeight(), 10, 10);
                g2.drawString("MyButton", 7, (int)boundsOfText.getHeight() + 6);
                g2.dispose();
        }So how can i do that? How can JButton know prefferedSize before its paint method is invoked?

    The previous example was simplified.
    public class MyButton0 extends JButton {
        private String myText;
        public MyButton0(String text) {
            this.myText = "Button";

            setContentAreaFilled(false);
            setBorderPainted(false);
            setFocusPainted(false);
        @Override
        public void paint(Graphics g) {
            Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
            g2.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);
            //backround painting
            GradientPaint background = new GradientPaint(0, 0, new Color(255, 255, 255), 0, getPreferredSize().height / 2, new Color(0, 0, 0), true);
            if(getModel().isRollover()){
                background = new GradientPaint(0, 0, new Color(255, 255, 255), getPreferredSize().width , getPreferredSize().height , new Color(0, 0, 0), true);
            if(getModel().isPressed()){
                background = new GradientPaint(0, 0, new Color(255, 255, 255), 0, getPreferredSize().height / 2, new Color(210, 210, 210), true);
            g2.setPaint(background);
            g2.fillRoundRect(1, 1, getPreferredSize().width - 3 , getPreferredSize().height - 3, 10, 10);
            //Border painting
            g2.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 255));
            g2.setStroke(new BasicStroke(2.0f, BasicStroke.CAP_BUTT, BasicStroke.CAP_BUTT, 10.0f));
            g2.draw(new RoundRectangle2D.Double(1, 1, getPreferredSize().width - 3, getPreferredSize().height - 3, 10, 10));
            //text paiting
            g2.setFont(getFont());
            TextLayout tl = new TextLayout(this.myText, getFont(), g2.getFontRenderContext());
            int startPositionOfText = getPreferredSize().width - (int) tl.getBounds().getWidth();
            startPositionOfText = startPositionOfText / 2;
            g2.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 255));
            g2.drawString(this.myText, startPositionOfText -2, getHeight() / 2 + 5);
            g2.dispose();
        @Override
        public Dimension getPreferredSize() {
            return new Dimension(133, 31);
    }Assume text is so long as doesn't fit inside button. I have hard-set preffered size but i would like to calculate preffered size from text lenght.
    Or i need calculate startPosition of text to center it. But i don't want have preffered size hard-set.

  • How to create Calculated/Restricted Key Figures in AO

    All,
    In our project we are consuming Bex Queries for AO Analysis. In these  we have lot of calculated/restricted key figures. In bex we can restrict 2 characterstics to one Keyfigure, So can we able to create calculated/restricted KF in AO
    Regards,
    John

    Hello Tammy,
    We are having a reqauirement in which we have 5 Bex queries built on the same infoporvider and we are trying to consolidate all the 5 queries to one single generic Bex query or two. So in AO we would like to consume this query and build different AO workbooks to meet all the old 5 queries requirement.
    So as part of this process, I would like to know can we create calculate/restricted KF's in AO , that way i can make a better decision to create them in Bex VS AO.
    Thanks for your inputs in advance.

  • MSC2n next inspection lot to be calculated from the production date

    Hi gurus,
    My query is
    1.  In Tcode MSC2n, next inspection lot is to be calculated from the production date and not from last goods movement date. is it possible to get next inspection lot to be calculated from the production date.
    2. how to make automatic creation of inspection lot in SAP based on the next inspection date. Right not, it is being done manually using T-code QA07.
    thanks in advance
    regards
    vb

    To manipulate next inspection date use user exit QEVA0003.
    To automatically create 09 inspection types use transaction QA05, schedule it to run in background at periodic interval

  • Remove scaling factor from key figure - still shows in Report !

    Hi all,
    A key figure we use somehow had its scaling factor set to 100.
    This was accidental, so I have changed the key figure to have no scaling factor and then activated it.
    The query that uses this key figure still sees it as having the 100 scaling factor however.  While this is the case, I cannot set it to no scaling factor as needed.
    I have tried adding this key figure to a new report and it still comes in with the incorrect scaling factor setting.
    So far I have tried,
    Changed the scaling factor on the key figure to none and activated.
    Regenerated the query through rsrt
    Removing the key figure from the query and then readding as well as adding the key figure to a entirely new report. Incorrect scaling setting still comes through in both cases.
    Checked table RSDIKYFPRO and RSDKYF - both of which have no scaling as their settings for this key figure.
    I know that I could created a restricted key figure in the query from the original and set the scaling factor to none to get around the problem, however I would like the query to see the settings in the key figure.
    Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this ?
    Many thanks,
    Blair

    Was there ever a solution to this problem? I, too, have noticed the same issue. The key figure properties (in my case, # of decimal places) is not inherited in the query, and the only solution was to change the kf properties directly in the query, which I shouldn't have to do. The selection of decimal places "from key figure (0)" does not work; I have to override this and select "0". Anyone seen any notes or anything to fix this?
    Thanks.

  • Rebate calculation from Basic Price PR00

    Hi,
    This query is related to rebate conditions. At present the rebate base is calculated from the subtotal, that is Basic price - discount(The subtotal 7 is assigend to the step 300).
    As per the requirement from the business, the rebate should be calculated from the 'Basic Price'. They don't want the discount value should be considered in the rebate calculation. I explained them regarding the burden which company has to bear, but the business still want to go with the changes.
    My plan is to create another step in the pricicng procedure right after the basic price and assign subtotal 7 to it and delete the exting reabte subtotal step, and assign the new step number to rebate conditions, so the reabte will be calculated based on this.
    My questions are:-
    1. Can I edit the existing pricing procedure to make these changes?
    2) Will there be any impact on the existing rebate agreements (open) and its settlements on a later date?
    3) Will there be any impact on the process of billing of open sales orders/deliveries (not billed) after the change in pricing procedure?
    Please guide me.
    Regards,
    SAM

    Hi Ivano,
    Thnak you very much for your suggestion.
    As the note says, the best way is to copy the existing pricing procedure and create another and assign it in OVKK.
    Will there be any effect for partially billed delivery items? (at the time of creation of billing document for the unbilled items in the delivery)
                                                                        OR
    when we create a billing document from the delivery (in the case of sales order and delivery created with old pricing procedure and the billing document is getting created after the assignment of new pricing procedure)
    Your valuable suggestions will be highly appreciated.

  • Demand transfer from ECC to SNC using RSMIPROACT Programme

    Hi,
    Presently we are using RSMIPROACT to transfer demand (Planned independent Requirements-T-code MD61)from ECC to SNC.
    It transfers the demand always from version 02 and not from the active version 00.
    I want to know whether there is config to change this.We want to send through 00 verison also.
    Thanks and Regards
    Raghavendra Pai

    Hi Raghavendra Pai
    In ERP system, transaction OMPD. Each transaction has been assigned to active version.
    I believe in your case it is version 02 as active.(Guess)
    If you want both active version and other version data to be sent, then try to enhance the code in includes available in RSMIPROACT program.
    Kindly seek help of PP guy and ABAPER.
    Hope this helps, As per my knowledge we have different versions, so that we can simulate long term PIR and differentiate between various planning approaches.

  • Executing Business Rule / Calculation from Excel - Essbase

    Hi All,
    Currently I am trying to run the calculations / Business rules from essbase after locking and sending data. I am using the below code to run the business rule / calculation from essbase.
    Sub RunBusinessRule()
    On Error Resume Next
    X = EssVCalculate(Empty, "AggFlash", False)
    MsgBox "Business Rule executed successfully"
    End Sub
    The issue is that my code gives me a message that the business rule is executed successfully but the rule keeping running in the background for some time. Actually i need a code which will check the status of the process of calculation and when it actually gets completed I should get a message that it's been done. Please expedite.

    Hi,
    I take it you mean calc script and not business rule as really they are separate.
    The reason you get a message straight away is because you have the synchronous parameter set to false, if you set it to true it should not return until it is comple
    e.g.
    X = EssVCalculate(Empty, "AggFlash", True)
