Re-designing Browser Pop up Messages

Is there a way you can redesign pop up mesages. E.g. when a user submits a form, or has submitted invalid information you get that defualt browser pop up message. However on some websites I have seen custom pop up messages.
Is there an extension out there that can create custom pop ups, for things like forms, or is there a way you can do it in dreamweaver?

Hi,
Sorry I think I am describing by problem in the wrong way. I have attached a sample of something I would like to achieve.
However I would like my error message (describing form fields the user failed to fill in) to appear as an customised pop up message, or a pop up window.
I know that most of this can be achieved using spry validation tool's, but as shown in the example can it create a error message at the top of the form after a user has submitted an incomplete form, or a self-designed pop up message/ window (something that looks like the the error message in the example)

  • How to log "send failed" to a file instead of showing a pop-up message

Hi, I am working with Flex 4.1 on Linux but I suppose this problem must be common to all versions of Flex.
I am working on a Flex client front-end which connects to a Java back-end (in Tomcat) via BlazeDS. All of this works OK 99.9% of the time. However, from time to time (let's say, if the client browser has been open for several hours), the user gets a pop-up message saying "Send failed". It seems to be a harmless transient error -- if the user closes the pop-up, the front-end carries on as usual and seems to continue to work as expected.
Is there a way to have the "send failed" message written to a log file instead of opening a pop-up message?
As a separate problem, if anyone has seen occasional, transient "send failed" errors, I would be interested to hear about that. If you have some solution to make them go away, that would be terrific.
Thanks for your time, I appreciate your help.

Firefox since 20.0 has had the current download history way it is now. It was possible to enable the old manager up until Firefox 26.0 was released.
One way to have Downloads in a tab is to use '''about:downloads''' in a tab which can be found in the about: urls list about:about

  • Display of javascript pop-up messages in NLS

Does anyone have experience with the following condition?
Display problems will occur on javascript pop-up messages if using English O/S Browser while the language preference for the user is set for another local language.
Pop-up messages become unreadable as a result. We are trying to come up with a solution to avoid this.

Ummm - I don't think you'll get much help for JavaScript here, as it is no relation to Java.

  • Constant Java Runtime pop up message after Yosemite Update

After downloading Yosemite, a message keeps popping up saying " To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment." I have already installed the Java update, but the message continues to pop every hour or so. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this pop up message? I use google chrome as my main browser. My husband uses Safari and he gets the same message after updating to Yosemite.

Most likely, you have either the Facebook video calling plugin or the "NexDef" plugin for watching baseball streams. Both depend on the Java runtime distributed by Apple. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it. Otherwise, install Java.

  • Pop up message when visiting Flash sites

I'm having a new thing happen when I visit sites done with
Flash. A highlighted outline appears around the document and a
pop-up message says "click to activate and use this control". Once
I click it the site works fine. When leaving the site and returning
it will alternately say "press space bar or enter to activate and
use this control", and then again once pressed the site works fine.
This just started happening in the last day or so. Any insight to
why this happening would be so appreciated. I have a link to a

    >I have the same problem.!
    > It is absurd that iexplorer had to do this.
Indeed. The current patent system is absurd.
    > Now every button on my page have to be dubbel clicked
    on.
Until those pages are 'fixed' .. yes. Do you have a separate
    SWF file
embedded for each button on your web page? That seesm a bit
    odd.
    > En every page is with these buttons again, so now you
    have to click one
    > thousand times to get there!
That seems a bit of an exageration .. one extra click per
    flash movie to
activate it .. and thats only if you want to interact with it
    (ie you were
proably going to click on it anyway). NOTE: If its your page,
    fix it so you
do NOT need to click on it.
    > I hope iexplorer will lose market this way. Because
    firefox does not do
    > this.
Its not something MS really wanted to do. And EOLAS could
    just as easily do
the same to Firefox .. if there was any money in it for them.
    They say that
they do not want to charge patent fees for open source free
    browsers. But I
wouldn't trust them. IE is free .. and they went after its
    owner,
Microsoft, because there was money to be made for EOLAS. If
    there was money
to make from Firefox, you can bet your bottom dollar that
    EOLAS would sue
    them as well.
Anyway . .the problem will start disappearing soon enough as
    web sites are
modified to work nicer with IE. Anyone who wants to keep
    their nice visitor
experience with the most common browser (ie. IE) will change
    their site
    accordingly sooner rather than alter.

  • Pop up message: Norton Confidential cannot protect you while you use this version of Firefox(18.0 current). Phishing Protection requires Firefox 1.5 or later(?

I am currently using Firefox version 18.0 yet when I open Firefox, I always get this pop up message:
“This version of Firefox is not supported by Norton Confidential. You will not be protected while browsing the Web.
Norton Confidential cannot protect you while you use this version of Firefox. Phishing Protection requires Firefox 1.5 or later.”
Do you know what is causing this? This started when I updated to Firefox 16.0.2. Am I at risk?

You may find information on Norton's own forums about this.
I am not sure that any protection against phishing provided by Norton is going to be better than the protection that Firefox offers by default.
    * see http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/phishing-protection/
I can not recommend that you downgrade to an earlier unsupported and insecure version of Firefox, because that WILL increase the security risks.

  • Pop up message when saving document with document set

    Hi
I want to display a pop up message when a user saves a document of a particular Content Type in a document set.
How can this be done ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to pop up a message when saving document.
To achieve it, you should custom the edit form page.
You can use the SharePoint Designer
to customize the behavior of the "save" button.
You should add the "onclick" method to the submit button, and put your JavaScript there.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/9d830f96-693a-438d-a5c8-005d1e86b578/how-to-show-a-popup-box-before-saving-properties-for-a-document-in-document-library?forum=sharepointdevelopmentlegacy
You can also use the event receiver, when the files have been uploaded or edited to call the event receiver to open a pop up dialog.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • MAC installing Acrobat Pro X and Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium pop up ?

    Hello,
I have an Acrobat Pro X PKG (for MAC) from the Univeristy that should have a serial number inside the PKG. The installation works well.
On the Acrobat Pro lauch I saw the main windows, for 2-3 secondes and then it goes a way.  A Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium pops up  asking me a serial number???
    Thanks for your help

Thanks for your response, Mylenium.  I finally had time to try this on the weekend, and that cleaned up nearly all the warning messages, but unfortunately it didn't work for Acrobat Pro X.  I also deleted my old CS4 and ran the Cleaner Tool again, just in case that was causing problems.
I found this - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-1310-error-writing-file.html - and I patiently tried every solution mentioned, but after hours of mucking about with this and trying to install this many times I simply don't know what to do next.
The problem appears to be the Conflig.msi folder and I have checked that I have access to this folder right up until I run the CS6 install.  After I get a message saying that I haven't been able to install because it is unable to write to C:Config.msi I go back to that folder and find that my permissions have changed.  It seems to be the install process that changes this - is that possible?
I'm hoping someone from Adobe Support will read this and respond. It is very hard for me to access live chat as the hours only suit people in the US and I'm in Australia.

  • OWB Design Browser reports Unexpected Error

    Hi,
I am trying OWB904 demo on OracleDB 9.2.0.2 and I have problem with OWB Design Browser. I can view all the reports but seems that I can not see any Diagrams (Impact and/or Lineage) - every time I get error message:
    Unexpected Error
    Unexpected Error
The operation can not be performed at the present time. Please contact your administrator for assistance.
I already tried Refreshing Dependency Index (several times) and set the MS_IE Browser setting for "Check for newer versions of stored page" to "every visit to the page". Does not help - still getting "Unexpected Error".
Any hint what else to try ???

    Bojan,
There are two possibilities, both related to installation and set-up:
    1. Has XML Toolkit been installed in SYS schema? This XML Toolkit is needed for Lineage diagrams to show correctly.
Check under SYS schema, whether you have XMLDOM and XMLParser package. Other way to check this is to see whether you have any invalid state package or package body in your OWB repos schema(OWBB_LIA and LIA_CLIENT are related to lineage diagrams).
    2. Check two tables: lia_xml_table and lia_xml_table2 have existed in OWB repos schema or not. They are needed for diagrams. One reason they may not been created during installation is these tables contain CLOB columns, and Oracle has a limitation: According to the 9i documentation: You cannot store LOBs in AUTO segment-managed tablespaces.
    Mark.

  • Detect browser, and display message, without PHP?

My website is only fully functional with Google chrome, a lot still works in Firefox, and almost nothing works with IE (for now), is there some sort of script/code I can use to detect if a browser is not Google chrome? And then if the browser is not Google chrome a pop-up message appears? I can't use anything PHP so Javascript or something else would be preferable.

I agree with bregent, no-one is going to download and install a new browser because of your suggestion.

After the restore did the phone work properly for a while? Say, a day or so?
If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.
    Good luck

After visiting a website in Safari I get the following pop up message: "

    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, AdwareMedic, or Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.
