Re: Differentiate Normal Sales vs 3rd Party Sales

Hi all,
The standard system would allow the creation of normal sales and 3rd Party sales under the same Order Type and same Billing Type.  It is controlled using the item categories.
As such, I would like to understand how I can use the standard Sales or Billing Report to differentiate the normal Sales and/or Billing document against the 3rd Party Sales.
Please assist.
Thanks.
Rgds.

Hi,
The item category will be different for normal sales and third party sales.( TAN & TAS).
To differentiate the sales for normal & third party.
Create a query using VBAK ,VBAP, VBRK,VBRP and give input selection field as item category.

  • How to Prevent Workflow when Automatic PO created in 3rd Party Sales

    Hello,
We have set up a special Sales Document Type for the purpose of 3rd party sales. The item category is TAS, so the Purchase requisition gets created automatically.
The problem is that when the Sales Order is saved, it starts a Business Workflow and sends an email to our EDI Technical Team.  We want to disable the workflow functionality in this sales document because it is not needed.
Is there a way to disable ALE for a sales document type?
    Thanks very much!

On creating Purchase order for requirement created for a customer sales order stock, if the customer sales order stock is not valuated, this means a Consumption ( GBB ) account is involved here. If the posting is a consumption account, SAP allows the user to decide whether it should be autotmatically or manually entered. Because of this option, system need this account to be set with Field 'Automatic posting only' to ' '.
With this field  'Automatic posting only' setting to ' ', whether the account can be automatically or manually entered is then controlled by the field status in the PO creation. If you do not want the user to enter the account manually, then this account should be set to display mode in PO.
If the customer sales order stock is valuated, then in General business process, this would involve a BSX ( material account )
postings. Normally this is automatically derived during PO creations. No manual enterring is allowed. Thus if it is correct to set this account with field Automatic posting only' setting to 'X' in FI settings.

  • Can we create two POs for the same 3rd party Sales Order?

    Hi MM experts,
Issue: Can we create two POs for the same 3rd party Sales Order
In Third party purchase process, first sales order created with a spl. item category  and it creates the PR automatically with the Sales order material and Qty and this PR converted PO.
They got a pur.req. for sale order on same item for same delevery date. They did not get any warning msg. saying that a PO was prviously placed against this sale order.
How it is possible that we were able to place another PO? concern is that second PO was palced against SO which was already used & completed. they were able to place 2 POs for the same customer same delevery date. How it is possible?
If anyone face the same issue, please let me know if you have any answer to this questions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Suresh.

    Suresh,
It is hard for me to give you a definitive answer since you have created a customized solution.
How it is possible that we were able to place another PO? concern is that second PO was palced against SO which was already used & completed. they were able to place 2 POs for the same customer same delevery date. How it is possible?
Normally, the system will not do this.  A third party PR or PO will be 'account assigned' to the Sales order.  SAP standard 3rd party will not create additional purchase reqs unless there has been manual intervention.  Try searching for changes in the Sales order and changes in the original purchase order.  They may give you a clue.
I believe the normal Item category for third party SO is TAS (I am working from memory here, I am not in front of a system).  I don't know what ZTAG does.  I confess I am not an SD expert.  You might also want to post your question in an SD forum.
You mention two custom applications, ZMMPLAN and ZSTPMP.  These somehow have functionality that is used to help you convert your PRs to POs.  If I were in your position, I believe I would also look at these applications for clues to how they might be contributing to your problem.  And please don't send me details about these apps.  I will not comment on custom code in this forum.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • How to do a 3rd party sales process

How to do 3rd party sales process.....
plz reply me with the full configuration.....

    THIRD PARTY SCENARIO
in third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
the processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing:-
if a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
when you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
you process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.
Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales
Customize the third party sales in summary:
    Prerequisites for 3rd party sales,
    Purchasing org,
    purchasing group,
assign the Purchase org to company code
    assign Purchase org to plant,
should not maintain the stock in material, it should be trading goods,
    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material – Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and, therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • 3rd Party Sales Optional ?

    Hi-
We have a vendor from which we purchase a material that some times we have shipped to our plant to later reship, and other times we have the material drop shipped.
I would like to separate the process so we can treat the 3rd party shipments as true SAP 3rd party.  Is anyone aware of how of process other than the item category to control  if it is 3rd party or a normal material.  I am trying to find a way where I can process the true 3rd party in a different SAP factory that we use for other sales, but the item category is a global attribute.  Thoughts anyone?
    Thanks.
    -Larry

    Hi Larry,
You are right that the third party process is being recognized by item category and corresponding schedule line category.
Have you considered creating seperate item categor or schedule line category?
    Thanks and best regards,

  • 3rd party sales order (GL posting)

I have posted this thread in Sales forum but did not receive answer. need help urgently.
i have configured 3rd party sales order where when user enter item category as TAB, PR will automatically be created and GR goes into sales order stock in MMBE.
however, user wants the COGS during GI for this 3rd party sales goes to a separate GL account.
where can i maintain the GL account?
i have tried using obyc and simulate it in omwb however, it affects even the normal sales order since it follows the standard key combination. i'd like to know where to maintain the GL account when the stock is issued from the sales order stock in mmbe.
when i simulate through omwb, and enter the movement type 601, there seems to be 1 option for sales order (GD delivery sls.ord.) however not sure where to maintain the GL for this option.
    many thanks.

    Hi,
As per MM scenario While creating the Purchase Requisition manual or automatic system need to select Account assignment " 1 " Third-party" after Purchase order will generate based on PO receiving the good but in this scenario the material will dispatch in customer direct so inventory will not update
please cross check the config setting in this area SPRO->Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Account Assignment/Costing -> Revenue Account Determination

  • ACCOUNT DETERMINATION "INTERCOMPANY SALES &3RD PARTY SALES" -kishore,AK ,

    HI ,
       Rajesh , Kishore , AK ,
well 2day  i had   client interview ,  he was very much stressing on " ACCOUNT DETERMINATION  " process  in intercompany sales , both in ordering comapny  and delvering plant .
At the same time  account determination  for 3rd party sales . well got some docs had  brief capsule study , still stuck up .
can u pl throw  come clarity .
    Regards,
    jerry

    Dear Jerry
Inter-Company Scenario in SAP is quite different than its literal meaning.
Inter-Company means, customer gives order to company code A (PlantA), but Plant A is not having stock, so it passes on to Plant B(CoCd B).So in Sales order of A you enter Plant B.
So now goods are delivered by Plant B to Customer and commercial invoice for customer is from CoCd A.
Cocd B just gives inter company invoice.
Now Comming to account determination , it totally depends on pricing procedure as account keys are there. There is not much difference from standard scenario, but you can have seperate G/L Accounts
If you are talking about <b>sales between different company codes</b>, then this can be handled having different sales document and thus different pricing procedure, you can ask customer , what is there requirement. and can say that it is like normal sales cycle only
    <b>Third-Party Processing</b>
    1) two standard process provided by SAP in the frames of the third-party processing:
    a) pure third-party process: X creates the sales order, automatically purchase requision and later a purchase order will be created at the vendor. Then the vendor sends the goods directly to your customer and send the invoice to X. The company X creates the invoice to the customer Y.
    b) individual purchase order: the same process, but the vendor sends the goods not to the customer directly, but first to X, and then the company X delivers the goods to the customer Y. The invoice is coming from Z to X (transaction MIRO), and then X creates invoice to Y.
you can refer the accounting document to get Idea of account determination

  • Sales analysis w.r.t 3rd party processing with different vendors

    Hi friends,
I am new to this group. My requirement is to find list of materials ordered by customer procured by different third party vendors.
e.g There is a sales order from a customer and I have items of which 2 are procured from a 3rd party Vendor and 1 item is produced.
Is there any transaction through which shows how much we procure and how much we procured from 3rd party vendor
    Please help
    Thank
    Best Regards
    Santosh

    Hello,
no there's not a transaction showing the information you need. You can build a query or a report, according to the level of complexity, to get the information.
On top of that you should consider this:
    if the materials procured externally have different codes than materials produced, with transaction ME2M you can get the list of Purchase Order items according to the material code;
    if, as often it happens, in Sales Order, you have an item category dedicated to 3rd party items, you can extract from table VBAP the list of Sales Orders items with that item category, and get material codes and quantities of materials procured in that way;
    Best regards,

  • Solution for 3rd party sales in 2 R/3 system

    Hi Gurus,
I faced a design question right now, we have 2 different SAP R/3 system, one is for pruduction and the other is for sales company (just business requirement), the production plant in the first system and the sales company in second company are the same legal entity.
Now my question is that, if I do a third party sales (since in 2 systems I just use 3rd party but not intercompany), sales to the end customer in 2nd R/3 system but directly deliver from 1st R/3 system, how can ido it? Since they are in the same legal entity, I can not issue invoice in the 1st R/3 system to the 2nd system. If the invoice can not be issued, is that OK with finance part?
Please kindly help. Thanks in advance.
If there are any doubts in my description, please just reply, I will watch this post.

    Hi,
You have not mentioned in which system purchasing process is handled.
In the third party sales system sales order is created, then purchase requisition and purchase order will be created for the sales order. This purchase order will be sent to an external vendor, who supplies the product directly to the customer. Then the vendor will send the invoice to the sales organization company and vendor invoice posting will be carried out in the system against the purchase order. After invoice posting only the sales organization will create the invoice for the customer.
Since vendor directly delivers to the customer, there is no need to carrry out delivery from the 2nd system. The grey area in your case is how the two system talks with each other to make sure what quantity has to be billed to the customer (if purchasing is handled in different system than the sales processing system). Are the two systems talk each other?

  • The item is not relevant for billing. 3rd Party Sale

    Hello, experts,
I have met a problem in 3rd party sale scenario. Here is the situation:
    1. I have created a sales order using a 3re party item (item category: tas and billing type: order-related billing). And the PR is generated successfully at the schedule line level.
    2. In the next step, I have created PO with reference to this PR.
    3. As in my situation, the items are sent to customer by vendor directly, there is no need to maintain MIGO and MIRO.
    4. I try to creat billing with reference to the sales order and here appears the error. The log shows:
"The item is not relevant for billing."
There are actually many threads in the forum and I have tried much of them.
I have checked firstly in VOV8 the sales order type->the order-related billing type for OR(standard sales order) is F2.
VOV7 the item category type->tas billing relevance: F (order-related billing)
VTFA the copy control->F2 with OR and in the item level, the item category tans is also maintained.
I can not decide where the problem is. Any idee?
    Thanks,
    Fan

    Hi
    3. As in my situation, the items are sent to customer by vendor directly, there is no need to maintain MIGO and MIRO.
    This statement is absolutely wrong
MIGO is optional in third party transactions and MIRO is a Must
Third party item cat billing relevance is F
F: Order-related billing doc. - status according to invoice quantity
Relevant for order-related billing documents based on the invoice receipt quantity (third-party business transaction). The system transfers the order into the billing due list only after the vendor invoice has been received and processed in the purchasing department. After the receipt of each invoice, a  customer invoice is created for the quantity that appears on the vendor invoice. The order has status "Billed" until the next vendor invoice is received.
Item category TAS (Third party item) is set up with billing relevance "F" in the standard system.
This is the SAP explanation of F billing relevance
Maintain the copy control settings in VTFA as suggested by the other friend
Without MIRO you cannot invoice the customer in third party

  • One line item delivery for 3rd party sales order

    Hello Experts,
We have configured a 3rd party sales order process where the PR gets created. We are using scheduling agreement(PO) and creating Schedule line and doing a GR for partial line items.  The stock is recieved as a Sales Order stock.
But when i create a Sales Delivery the delivery document copies all the line items (ieven for the ones which we don't have GR)  from the sales order and we have to manually delete the line items from delivery doc.
Is there a way i can restrict the delivery document to only copy the line items from the sales order  for which the sales order stock is available? If so how can we do that?
    Appreicate your help.
    Thanks
    Arpita Rani

    Hello All,
We have configured a 3rd party sales order process. The schedule line category is configured with account assignment categoory as "M". when we are creating GR the Moving average price of the material  is not getting updated.
But if i replace with "E" it is getting updated, but the CO-PA is not getting generated for Profitability segment reporting.--we need profitability segment reportng.
Can some one tell me how we can update the moving average price using acc. asssignment category type "M" at the same time the Profitability segement information is updated.
    THanks in advance
    Appreciate your help

  • Schedule line confirmation date for 3rd party sales( non stock item)

    Hi ,
While creating an sales order i have a stock  item and 4 non stock items . All the non stok items are similar to 3rd party sales as they are services . While created the sales order for the no stock item the confirmed schedule date is given as 12 days in the future or in one case after month .
Can  someone please help me in understanding how the dates are being calculated . I havent created any PO for the non stock items.
I would like the confirmed date to be picked as the system date.

    Hi,
There can be multiple reasons for this.
You have not mentioned the material type. Anyhow, first check Material Master
Purchasing view> GR Processing Time field
Sales / general Plant > Set up time and processing time field
    If MRP views are maintained
    In MRP2 View > Scheduling.
In case you do not want availability check to be carried out
Untick Availbility check and TOR check boxes in VOV6 for the schedule lines determined for these materials.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sharan
