Re-download a PodCast

I accidentally deleted a downloaded podcast file from my hard drive. Is there any way to get ITunes to "re-download" the file?

In the podcast section of iTunes (not the store) you can click the little triangle to reveal all the episodes, both available and downloaded. Delete the funky one, and then double click to re-download.

  • Error message downloading a podcast

I'm having a problem downloading a podcast, using IE 6.0, Windows 2000 and the latest version of iTunes. I don't have any probs. d/l'ing other podcasts but on one particular file, I get an error message saying the file is corrupted or in a format it can't understand. I've tried deleting the podcast and d/l'ing again but no luck. Other people are able to download this same podcast just fine so I know it's not the file. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i tried going to the website and it tells me tha the media is not available. then i tried going the the main website (http://release.theplatform.com/) and it asks me to login with a user name and password. so, if you are trying to download the podcast from this link it is probably not available anymore.

    What happens when you try?
What do you mean by download?  Synce to iPod? Download directly to the iPod?
    What app are you using?

  • I attempted to download a podcast but it was corrupt and only a fraction downloaded. It won't download and I can't delete. How do I get it off my itouch?

I attempted to download a podcast but it was corrupt. Only a fraction downloaded and I can't download nor delete. Any ideas as to how to delete?

If a Podcast has only partially downloaded, then you need to delete that partial download before iTunes will "allow you" to begin a fresh download of that same file.
Have a look in your iTunes Media folder for the Download folder. On my Windows 7 for instance, it's Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads. In that folder, there should be a sub-folder with the name of that podcast which has the partial download in it. Delete the named podcast folder, but not the Download folder.
You should then be able to start a fresh download (if you still want it!).

  • How to download new podcasts one at a time?

    Hello,
can anyone tell me how to download new podcast episodes one at a time? I have a slow 70k flatrate and iTunes starts all downloads at the same time, so most of them stop because they are too slow. So I have to klick each episode manually. Instead, I would like to leave my PC for one hour, and then all the podcasts should be there.
    Many thanks,
    Danny

  • Some subscribers are unable to download my podcast in the last 2 weeks. How do I fix this?

I host a podcast and an issue is happening to my listeners (and me) in iTunes for the last two weeks. I am using a Mac and also a Windows computer with the latest version of iTunes. I have no problem downloading the podcast on my iPhone using Downcast as my podcast client (I don't like Apple's Podcast app).
I have listeners contacting me asking why this is happening and don't know how to fix it.
I have further details of the issue:
The file starts to download in iTunes and then stops. The podcast is listed in the queue and it shows it is in the cloud. There is a little exclamation point next to the new episodes.  When I try to select download it starts and then stops downloading, still showing the exclamation point instead of the blue dot.  I can start to stream the podcast but it stops 3 minutes into the podcast. I hit play again and it picks up where I left off but only plays another minute and a half. This stopping and having to hit play again continues through the rest of the podcast.
I haven't changed anything in the way I code the mp3's in the past two episodes, so unless Apple has changed policy or restricted new podcasts on the way they are coded, I don't know what to think. Bitrate 32kbps and sample rate 12,000kHz Mono.
I just did some tests on a Windows 8.1 machine using iTunes 11.1.2.32 and it is not downloading any shows from the last 12 weeks (Aug, 22, 2013 was the last successful d/l).
The podcast I host is Amateur Radio Newsline and the subscribe url ishttp://www.arnewsline.org/news/rss.xml
    More info...
Not all podcast subscriptions are experiencing this issue, some download still without a problem.
I have turned off automatic syncing.
I tried various settings on the way it downloads, how many episodes it keeps and it changed nothing. Still having the issue.
This is happening in both Windows and Mac versions of the software.

I subscribed to your feed and was unable to download episodes - I tried several including the latest. The error message was that the download was interrupted.
I was able to download the latest episode in a browser, and to play it in Safari. Evidently your server is reacting badly to requests from the iTunes application; I have no idea why this should be the case and can only refer you to the people running your server.

  • Downloading a Podcast

When downloading a podcast i am getting mutlipe versions of the same podcast, how can i stop it.

This is a rather ugly way that I've used in the past on windows. I expect it would also work on a mac, but for it to work the following are requirements:
    1. The badly downloaded podcast still exists
    2. The podcast still exists on the web somewhere that you can navigate to. (I have previously made a little html page that linked to a podcast when one wasn't provided for me.)
Find a link to the actual podcast's file and then use the "save link as" (or whatever your browser calls it). to save the file. When you're saving it point it at the copy on your system and replace it.
It seems to work, but there's probably a better way.
    A couple of notes.
    1. I think itunes treats replacing the file using "save link as" differently to you deleting and replacing the file. It is certainly expecting it to have a particular name.
    2. Sometimes I've not been able to find a link to the podcast file, but have been able to work out where it should be, and made a little html page that linked to this.
    Hope this helps

  • I cannot download one podcast. Tried resubscribing but no luck.

This only happens with one of my podcasts others update ok. It has the ! symbol by the title in my podcast library.
    The error message reads>
"There was a problem downloading "Best of Today"
"Could not be found on the server."
If i go to the same podcast in the itunes store I can download each podcast individually.
I've tried unsubscribing and resubscribing but no joy.
I also can't download the podcast from "get more episodes" option of my iphone.
The answer is probably simple but I just can't see it!!
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Ian

    Any errors?
Is it specific podcasts or all that you've subscribed to?
Can you manually download the podcast from the group that produces it?

  • Problems when downloading a podcast

    Hi,
I need help on what to do when I get a error message when downloading a podcast. To be specific, the Mad Money Jim Cramer's Podcast.
When I try to download the podcast, the message that appears is: "There was a problem downloading, Authorization is needed to access, http://release.theplatform.com/release/content.mp4?pid=JY98jfsO...."
    How can I fix this??

  • I can no longer download PDF podcasts

With iOS4, I am no longer allowed to download PDF podcasts. I really want to be able to download and view them without my computer involved. Is there a way?
    Example: http://itunes.apple.com/podcast/rick-steves-britain-audio/id354697208 (has several PDFs)

    I had the same problem.
Before I solved it, sometimes it would work if I moved the tab from the new window to the window where the Chase main page was. Then after a reload it the PDF would show up.
Some other websites where PDFs are generated also showed a blank page.
''The solution'': I had the '''PDF download''' Add-on (latest version, 3.0.0.2) and disabled it. It is not enough to disable the add-on in its add-on bar button, and writing the website in the add-on's "do not use" list also doesn't work. The only thing that works is disabling it in the Add-ons Manager or even uninstalling it.

My iphone 4 is not being detected by any of my computers and not charging when connected to any computer.  It will, however, charge to the car or wall.  The only change that I can think of is that I downloaded a podcast from itunes directly from my phone.  I've since deleted this podcast with no luck.  I've restarted both the phone and the computer, still no luck.  One computer is running Vista and the other Windows 7, both have the latest Itunes Update.  Anyone have a fix for this?

  • 4.3 upgrade on 3GS, Music disappears from phone once you download a Podcast

Anyone having the same problem? Since I've upgraded to 4.3, if I download a podcast on my phone via wifi, all my music disappears and so do my podcasts. They are still on the phone but it says "there is no music, download from iTunes"
Music is easily restored if I connect the phone with my mac and play a song from my phone through iTunes.
Anyone know how to "cure" this?

The basics from the manual are reset, restart, restore.
Have you tried any of these?

  • I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading some Podcasts

I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading a podcast, Derb Radio on TakiMag, but not other podcasts.  It started occurring recently, about 3 of the last 4. This occurs on both a Windows and Apple machine.  iTunes is updated.  It does not occur with other podcasts.  Then end result is that the podcast does not download.
I also get a "rebuffering stream" interruption during playback on the computer.

    Hello there, johnsilker.
The following Knowledge Base article references some great information in regard to the very error you're seeing:

    Particularly:
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

    Greetings Heather,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Podcasts app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities,

  • I downloaded some podcasts, but I can't find them. Where are they?

I just downloaded 17 podcasts episodes. The iTunes confirms that they're in the iPhone (4S), but I can't find them.
I already looked in the "Music" section, "More", etc. But the "Podcasts" item it's no there. Neither in the "Video" section.
Do I need an app to make they work?
    Where they could be?
    Thanks!
    Ana C.

They are no longer supported in the Music app. You need to download the Podcast app from the App store. It is free.
