Re- downloading lost music?

lol nevermind i just had to upgrade to 7.1.1 lol

Now, explain to me logically why Apple doesn't allow more than 2 re-downloads
Now explain to me logically why you simply do not repurchase it?
As a rule, Apple does not allow ANY redownloads.
They may, on occasion allow it but it is definitely the exception and not the rule.
I don't care if Apple has to pay royalties
Why should Apple care about what you want over and above your agreed upon deal?
surely a big corporation like Apple makes enough money every year to cover this
What does how much money they make have to do with anything?
You made a purchase knowing it is not allowed to be downloaded again and you were satisfied with this else you would not have made the purchase.
Why should Apple have to pay for your mistakes/laziness/whatever is it that you need to redownload everything all the time.
These are user-to-user forums. No one here can give you the exact reasons why Apple chooses to not allow redownloading.
You can ask Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/contact/
maybe I should have mentioned that I've re-download my entire digital media libray (101 videos) from Amazon at least 10 times.
Really? 10 times? Really?
You can't stop yourself from deleting it over and over?

  • Need to download lost music

I went online to see how to download past purchased music and movies since I lost most of it on a crashed disk: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
I follwed the directions and found this little "cloud icon" and clicked dowload all and the download started.
After about 5 minutes and part way through the download iTunes froze and I had to "Force Quit" the application.
I restarted iTunes and appeared to complete a download but then stopped.
Is this a one time shot at getting them back?
Now I wanted to download lost movies but don't know where they are?
    Where is the Movie button?
    Where are the Movies?

I went to "Books" and one of the books I purchased has changed it's name to "Unknown Ablum, Unknown Author" and when I can look at it. The cover icon is there but it doesn't work. The book is called "A Storm of Swords" by George R.R. Martin (part of the Game of Thrones series). It's not allowing me to download it again?

  • Downloading Lost Music

I sent an email to Apple a few days ago and I mentioned that all the music in my purchased music was gone after I reformated my hard drive. They sent me a link to redownload all my music. I'm doing that now. There's only one problem. Since I bought a ton of videos from the iTunes store ever since I first got my .Mac account, iTunes is also downloading every single video I've purchased. That means it's eating up my hard drive space. Is there a way to skip downloading the videos and just download the music only? I'm only asking because I bought the January software upgrade for my iPod touch and because I still have 599 to go out of 1331 pending downloads, I wanted to know if there was a way to not download the videos so that I could just download my music and my January software upgrade for my ipod touch. Hope that makes sense.

I don't know of a way, but you could always just delete the duplicate videos when they are finished to free up the space again.

  • Re-downloading lost music & video

Ya' know, so many people have asked about this, why doesn't Apple just allow iTunes customers to do this? Amazon does it. I just re-downloaded 4 movies I bought @ Amazon Unbox over 2 years ago, and I didn't re-pay one cent.

Now, explain to me logically why Apple doesn't allow more than 2 re-downloads

  • Lost Music Track !

    Hi,
I've downloaded 40 - 50 music tracks and videos from iTunes and never had a problem, until now!
A music track I downloaded a couple of days ago has disappeared from my Touch ??
There's a 'Report Problem' option against the download in the d/l list in iTunes, which I've selected but nothing happens ?
Anyone had this problem and resolved it?
    Mike.

While it doesn't help you in the present case, I hope it helps you in the future. I've lost many files in the past, so I hope that by posting it will help people realize the importance of a current backup. I can see losing a few songs if a backup isn't current, but if I spent $40-50 bucks, yeah you can bet I'll be backing up. I actually got "the look" from my wife the other day when she saw a new hard drive arrive in the mail, but she'll be glad when she doesn't lose the music she's purchased or any of her other "essential" files. Usually apple will allow you to re-download lost music as a one time thing, but that's usually it. Good Luck.

  • IPhone reset...lost music

Ok so I had an old piece of crap PC, and when me and the ex split up, it "got lost." That is the computer I synced my iPhone with. Anyway, I went for a few months without a computer, and during that time I downloaded some music on my iPhone. I recently got a MacBook and the first time I plugged the iPhone into it, it asked me if I wanted to update to the latest iPhone software... So I did... but during the software update I accidentally unplugged it and had to reset my iPhone. It still kept my pictures and contacts, but all my music is wiped out. iTunes asked me if I wanted to search for available downloads and I did... It downloaded a couple of songs but not many. In my purchase history it shows that I have bought these songs, but if I go to the iTunes store it gives me the "You have already purchased this album" thing and asks me if I want to buy it again... Of course not! I just want to download what I already paid for again! And yes I have authorized this MacBook. So how do I download lost music again?

Normally, purchased music can only be downloaded once as the music companies want payment for each download. In rare circumstances, the Apple Store will authorize an additional download.
Go here and fill out the form: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
    You may get lucky.

  • Lost all my downloaded itunes music

My hard drive broke down and I lost my data.  Will itunes have a record of the music that I purchased and will they allow me to download that music again for free?

Note: Previously purchased music is only available through iTunes in the Cloud in Australia, Canada, Cypress, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. • Hard drive crash - lost music - any way to re-download?

Not sure if this is the right forum but the platform is Windows XP with iTunes. Drive crashed and I lost all the music that was downloaded. Any way to download it again or am I screwed?
    Thanks

I don't back up the machine that has the music on it because there are only 6 to 10 albums that were downloaded a few years back. I prefer CD's because I can rip them at higher bit rate and still have the original disks. Which is why I am not freaking out because I lost my rips - I still have the CDs. The music that I did buy from iTunes won't be a huge loss if I can't re-download it, but it would be nice to be able to do that. So please, no more <shock>haven't you backed up</shock> comments. I'm simply looking for an answer to the question - "is it possible to re-download bought music"? It's most likely either yes or no.
So thanks for pointing out the terms.html. The answer is no. Bummer but not a huge deal. Not for me at least.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
In brief; backup the device, recover what you can from it, download other purchases from the iTunes Store, restore the device, add content, keep a backup of your library in future.

  • Re downloading all lost music to my iTunes

    Hi there,
I purchased loads of music from iTunes on my old PC. After a terminal crash I purchased a new laptop. I've logged into my account and been searching for a way to re-download my music but can't find anything... Help! :-D
    Cheers,
    Andy

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or have them backed up, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

  • HT201210 why does it say my ipod is disconnected and because of this it wont let me backup or download my music

why doesnt my ipod connect to the computer? it keeps saying that my ipod is disconnected so i cant download my music or updates and ive tried everything help would be nice thanks

    - Reboot the computer
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Make sure you are connecting directly to the computer. Not through an extension cable or hub
    - Try another USB port.
    - Try another cable.- Lod at the dock connector in the iPOd. Look for corroded or bent contacts and other abnormalites
    - Try another computer. If problem still occurs then you likely have hardware problem with the IPod and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Aple store is in order.

  • My computer crashed, how do I re-download iTunes music?

My computer crapped out and I lost everything on my hard drive. I have a whole bunch of music I bought from Itunes. Does anyone know how to go about re-downloading this music.
    Message was edited by: Host

Use the form on this page to request a free redownload, or use the Transfer Purchases feature if applicable. If neither of these works, you will need to purchase the content again to get them back; Apple needs to pay the copyright holders for each download from the iTunes Store other than podcasts, album artwork, and iPod touch/iPhone applications.

    Are they grayed out?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
You can also try deleting all music by:
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
