Re-downloading purchesed music?
is there a way to redownload purchased music? i've heard people talk about a "free pass." I'm just not sure how to recieve one.
thank you!
I paid for it!
Then why didn't you back them up?
these files are protected by DRM,
No they are not. iTunes has been completely DRM free since April last year.
why apple doesn't allow us to redownload it?
Because they don't want to pay the label again because you did not back up your files. iTunes even asks if you want to backup after you make purchases.
I WONT BUY ANY SONG FROM ITUNES AGAIN!!
Then you won't buy from the other major downloads sites etither?
They don't allow you to redownload.

I've updated to the most recent version of iTunes and I can no longer see any of my old music on my mac. All the music is still available on my ipad. How can i download the music on my mac?
First, are you positive it is really not there? Have you looked in your iTunes folder in your Music folder, and in the media folders there? Do you see your media files?
If your media are gone it is a lot easier to restore from a proper computer backup. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 -

Good morning. I just purchased Imatch but cannot download my music from an iphone 5 to IMatch in Icloud. Can you help me with this?
Hi
Has iTunes completed its scan of your iTunes library on your computer Subscribing to iTunes from an iOS device.
Jim -
why doesnt my ipod connect to the computer? it keeps saying that my ipod is disconnected so i cant download my music or updates and ive tried everything help would be nice thanks
- Reboot the computer
- Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Make sure you are connecting directly to the computer. Not through an extension cable or hub
- Try another USB port.
- Try another cable.- Lod at the dock connector in the iPOd. Look for corroded or bent contacts and other abnormalites
- Try another computer. If problem still occurs then you likely have hardware problem with the IPod and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Aple store is in order. -

Hi
I have a new powerbook and want to give my girlfriend my old G4 power book, she has a new iphone 5s, and wants to create a new itunes/apple id. When i try to de authorize the G4 and sign in with her new apple ID it says bad password, how can i release the G4 from my cluster of authorized apples and make her the owner so she can download music and more importantly sync her music with her phone, she only has 3 songs on her iphone, and loaded all her CD's into the g4 but cant sync, im no dummy and this shouldnt be hard, but its driving me crazy!!!!!!
thx u so much for your time heeeellppppp.Perhaps, as we have the same music tastes, for now i should just authorize her phone to my power book just to sync music, not pics, contacts etc? I'd hate to overright her contacts etc lol????
HELP !!!I want to give my old apple to my girlfriend, SO SHE CAN PLUG IN HER NEW IPHONE, CREATE AN APPLE ID AND USE MY OLD LAPTOP TO DOWNLOAD itunes music, but im having trouble deautherizing it, and making her the OWNER, IF you get my drift, how to i mak -
Hi - I've brought my iphone 5 but cant seem to download my music from my itunes account onto it. I've downloaded the latest version of itunes as i heard this could be a problem but still no joy. The phone tries to sync when i plug it all in to the pc and even has the capacity bar showing about 12gb of audio but there is still nothing downloaded onto the phone.
The only thing i can see that might be causing the problem is that when i go into my itunes account it doesn't show that the iphone 5 is an option is the 'managed device' section but i dont know how i can add the new iphone 5 to this....
Can anyone please advise me on what to do ?
Many thanks !
RazorYou can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:

I would like to download my music from my iPod touch to iTunes library, is that possible? Our old computer fried and we were unable to salvage any information. All of the music that I downloaded from CD's is not in iTunes on our new computer. Will I have to reload all CD's?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, then you will need to rip the dvds again -
I have iTunes Match and it's been fine until now. I'm trying to download my music to my phone so I don't have to use the wifi to play it all the time.....but iTunes match won't let me copy from my computer without shutting it off. If I do that then turn it back on then I lose all the music anyway.
I'm so frustrated and can't download song by song to my phone.
help.If you mean you want to sync your music from your computer to your iPhone you need to disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Go to Settings > Music and set to iTunes Match to OFF (not green). You may need to wait a few minutes for the change to register with iTunes. Connect the iPhone via USB/Thunderbolt and sync the music.

How do I set up my new Macbook Pro to associate with my Apple ID so I can download purchased music?
Under 'Manage Devices' it only lists my iPhone and iMac. I've bought stuff on my new Macbook Pro using my Apple ID, but I can't find music I previously purchased using the iMac.Oh, wait, I've found it. Silly me!

I want to upload my music that i downloaded on my iphone 5 onto my computer. I didnt download the music on itunes. My phone doesnt come up in my computer
It won't. The iPhone does not have a disk mode the way the older iPods did. Music is handled by iTunes. You can move the music you downloaded on the computer into iTunes and then either sync the music to the phone or you can manually manage the music and move it small chunks at a time.

I am having problems downloading my music library from my PC to my iphone. I have different apple id's for i-tunes and iphone5s. I did connect iphone to PC via USB and was able to sync and download, but do not know where it downloaded to. I looked under my music on iphone and nothing there.
You have Sync Music selected under the Music tab or selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your PC?

Why are my photo album names in iPhone wrong?
If I sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes (MAC) all the album names in iPhone are not the same as in iTunes. For example, I have an album name "SAVOGNIN" but the photos in there are from "MENORCA" not from SAVOGNIN.
