Re-downloading ringtones from iTunes

I had bought 3 ringtones from iTunes. After the recent iOS 5 update, they r now missing from Both my phone and my iTunes itself. when I go to repurchase the ringtone, iTunes tells me that I have already bought it, but would I like to purchase it again... Why in the **** would I want to do that?!?! I jst want to plain as simple, redownload it. Please help? Thanks

This is my issue also. I don't know if I didn't have them synced to my computer or not but they aren't anywhere I can find. They don't show in iTunes and iTunes store under purchased. When I go to iTunes on the phone and find one to purchase it lets me go thru the process and then I get the "already purchased, want to buy again" message.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in. Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

You can use itunes: Type "create iphone ringtone using itunes 10" or similar into the Google search bar.

I downloaded ringtones from the iTunes Store from Nguyen Dev. It had some amazing tones, but when I tried to download it, it wouldn't work. I ave tried repeatedly, but to no avail. I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.

Did you check your Library in iTunes?
Under the view menu is View options, make sure "Kind" and "Purchase Date" are enabled, then sort the items in your Library by clicking where it says "Kind" and "Purchase Date"
The ringtone should come right up to the top as it was the last item purchased.
It's also could be in your "purchased" folder on the left pane under iTunes Store

Thanks for your help. I bought a 5 second ring tone. I have tried all the suggestions to convert it but still nothing. I will ask for a refund when I get my receipt email. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

I downloaded a ringtone from Itunes and apple owned company to my Iphone4 and then followed all the instructions sent to itunes on pc and synced back to iphone still got squat. Why does apple need to be so hard for something so simple.

Followed all the instructions from "Help" boards, sent to itunes on my pc converted to m4r synced back to iphone and still got squat. I thought iphones and apple were supposed to be so user friendly? Any other phone you download a ringtone click on it "use as ringtone" and your done.

Frank, thanks for your note. I wrote "COMPLETED" because I had gone to a lot of effort to get the content of the book precisely as I wanted it. I would fully expect to see my level of effort and care matched by functional competence in Aperture 3 to render the book the way I created it. Too much to ask?
And yes, I upgraded the Aperture 2 Library first. [Not ALL my tens of 000s of pix, because I use Lightroom selectively for photo editing. But Yes to the Aperture 2 Library.] That step took a number of minutes, but seemed to work fine (no error messages of any kind).
Then I opened the existing book project in Aperture 3, which followed some "magic-box" process that took a minute or so. As I said, when that step was done, by all appearances the book was ready to submit for printing - until I examined the photos a little more closely. You did see the blurry example I included, didn't you? That is what each and every photo looks like.
Text-box content appears to have been rendered pertectly, for the record (including captions).
So, ... is this result something you have heard of before? Do you know of a one-step solution? Or am I looking at an extended picture-by-picture fix?
