  • E-mail from Verizon says I can "Upgrade Now" and has special prices, but VZW won't honor ad!

I got an e-mail from Verizon last night that says "Get your new phone now. Save up to $50 on already discounted phones". The e-mail has some prices on it, such as a new Droid X for $99.99 (2 Year Price: 199.99, online discount -$50.00, exclusive discount -$50.00). The e-mail clearly indicates (by use of the last 4 digits of my phone number) which phone on my contract the offer is good for. When I click on the link in the e-mail, it takes me over to the VZW website, where I enter my username and password. Once I do that, the Droid X is priced at $149.99 (instead of $99.99), and there is NO $50 discount applied to any other phones. I called Verizon's customer service, and got the run around. One CS Rep told me I wasn't eligible for a new phone (then why the e-mail?), and then told me that another line on my contract was eligible for a upgrade. When I check into upgrades on that line, however, the prices are the same as on the first line). I asked to speak to a customer service supervisor, and had to wait an hour before one called back. He also didn't know anything about the e-mail, and implied that I was lying about it.... He asked me to fax the e-mail to him, and then stated it would take several DAYS for him to even get the fax, let alone get back to me. It is my expectation that I will never hear from the Verizon supervisor about this, and will never have the chance to take advantage of this offer. This is CRAPPY customer service! I have been a VZW customer for about 15 years, and have several smartphones ($$$ per month total) on my account. I'm beginning to run out of reasons not to jump ship when my contracts end. I'd like someone from VZW who has a clue what they're doing to contact me...but I'm not holding my breath!

It sounds like this is a standard email for when your NE2 upgrade is available. That would be where the extra $50 comes from. Unfortunately, if the email literally says "Save up to $50 on already discounted phones" that does not guarantee a full $50 off. I can understand your frustration that you got the email in the first place when your line isn't eligible for an upgrade, but Verizon is most likely trying to get you to use the upgrade on the line that is eligible. I'm not saying that is exactly what's happening, but everytime I contacted customer service or went in the store, they tried to get me to use one of my line's upgrades for my own line, which I did not want.

  • How do I set up my Ipad to receive mail from Verizon?

I just bought an Ipad 2 with Verizon.  I cannot receive mail through the Ipad, only through Verizon.net.  How can I set it up to get my mail?

No. You made it sound like you were not able to do it and that is what I was asking, look here for help. This shows you the steps for Verizon email on the iPad.

If you set up like this it should be fine. Then all you have to do is launch the mail app in order to send and receive email.

  • Bill from Verizon. Don't even have Verizon service.

    I received this e-mail from Verizon Wireless <[email protected]>

Somehow Verizon is charging me with a bill when I don't have a Verizon phone or service at all?  It also doesn't seem like a scam because all the links are links to Verizon's online pages.  I have tried calling Verizon but I got put through to a service that wasn't available and the call got d/c'd.
    Answers please?

Excellent answer. You would have to do a view source on the pages in question to see where it directs to or redirects to.
You can also do a tracert on the IP address to see if it resolves to Verizon or Verizon Wireless.
Good Luck to the original poster.

  • Calls and emails from Verizon

To {edited for privacy}, head of customer service in Tampa office
This isn’t about phishing per se, but I cannot seem to find an e-mail for customer service at Verizon…only “chat”.
I received a robo-call & VM last evening ON MY CELL PHONE from {edited for privacy}from “Jane” at “Verizon”. She reminded me that I must return my equipment or face additional charges on my next billing statement.
I received my return box on 7/23/15, and mailed it back to Verizon on 7/24/15 at 1:06 p.m. I will add that the box was mailed to me from you on 7/20/15.
I keep on getting e-mails from Verizon that will not allow me to respond via “reply”, so I called, and spoke with a CSR named Frankie yesterday (7/28/15). She tells me that Verizon has 30 days to check in returned equipment. Why all of the e-mails then? You want me to “return all equipment promptly”, or face $650.00 in additional charges, but you have 30 days to check my prompt mailing in?
    Let me get back to the robo-call…{edited for privacy} is the phone number to a place called OnProcess Technology…they act as your/Verizon’s “repo-men” for equipment. I do not have to guess where they got my cell phone number from, {edited for privacy}
It may not be a serious issue to you, {edited for privacy} but it is serious to me. When a huge corporation like Verizon feels free to bully a customer to return equipment that is property of Verizon, and that customer has complied to the request, then be done with it. Your own CSR tells me YOU have 30 days to check it in, well, stop calling me on a number that I have repeatedly told you all NOT to use, and stop e-mailing me.
    I hope that I do not have to take this to the next level, {edited for privacy}
If I receive one more call on my cell, that will determine my next action.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

  • Itouch is connected but can't get email to work from Verizon account

    Hi,
I have a new I-touch which is connecting fine to my wireless and will recieve and send email from an alternate email server.
But I cannot get the settings correct for my verizon.net address to work on the I-touch.  It confuses me as my email address is verizon.net, but my old settings on my pc are incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net. Should I be trying incoming.verizon.net, or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net.
I have my user name without the @verizon.net and I have checked the password many times.
I have the port setting at 587.
    It is on password authentication.
Can anyone share with me which settings are working for them???
    Thanks,
    Laura
    Solved!

I don't have a iTouch, but I do have an iPhone ...  the answer to your question depends on what "experience" you have when you get your mail from Verizon.   Are you using the Yahoo! portal experience perhaps?
If so, the iPhone has a Yahoo! account profile which appears to work.   You use your full @verizon.net email address as the logon userid and your email password for Verizon.
    Standard POP also works ...
    POP Account Information
       Name: Joe User
       Address:  [email protected]
       Description: Verizon
    Incoming Mail Server
       Host Name:  incoming.yahoo.verizon.net
       User Name:  [email protected]
       Password: ******
    Outgoing Mail Server
       SMTP outgoing.yahoo.version.net    ->
          Primary Server  ->
             Host Name: outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
             User Name: [email protected]
             Password: ******
             Use SSL:  On
             Authentication:  Password
             Server Port:  465
    Advanced
       Deleted Message
          Remove: After One Week
       Incoming Settings
          Use SSL:  Off
          Authentication: Password
          Delete from server: Never
          Server Port: 110
Some of these settings are obviously personal preference, but there should be enough here for you to piece toogether what you need to get up and running.

  • HT3228 I have an iphone4 (Verizon) and an iPad (AT&T), and starting this morning, neither device will receive mail from my Yahoo account. I can send email from that account (from either device), but nothing is coming into my inbox. Help!

I have an iphone4 (Verizon) and an iPad (AT&T), and starting this morning, neither one is receiving my mail from Yahoo. I can send an email from Yahoo on both devices, but I can't see any messages. It's clear that both devices know how many messages are in my inbox and how many are unread (I get a "Load More Messages" notice. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? After reading thru some discussions, it looks like the new operating system may be to blame. I only updated in the last few days... Help!

Yahoo's mail service is notoriously buggy.  It's not your phone or your device.

My mail application on my imac will not download mail from my verizon/yahoo account.  I contacted verizon and confirmed my settings to be correct.  I don't get any error messages, I can send mail but I can't retrieve it from V/Y.  Connection doctor shows all connections with a green light.

    Mail/Preferences/Accounts
    Incoming Mail Server:  imap.verzon.net
Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP):  smtp.verizon.net:your email [email protected]
If that does not work, call Verizon for instructions.

  • Mail delivery from Verizon is SLOW - are there issues?

Sent an email yesterday morning at 8.07am Eastern which was delivered yesterday at 10.07pm Eastern.  According to the header info it appears the mail reached the verizon server at 7.07.16 Central and was delivered from Verizon to the recipient mail server at  21.07.37 central,  just over 14 hours.
I guess this explains why some people have been complaining that I have been giving them late delivery on requests for info.
Was email down yesterday for some hours or were there even any reported outages, if so I never saw anything on it.

  • TS3276 How do I reconfigure Mail to the new settings required by Verizon? If I don't comply by Sept. 2013, my mail service will be interrupted.  The following is the message that I received from Verizon:

How do I reconfigure Mail to the new settings required by Verizon. If I don't comply by Sept. 2013, my mail service will be interrupted.
The following is the message that I received from Verizon:
Please update your POP email application’s inbound and outbound server settings as soon as possible to match the new settings below:
Server                    Current Setting                  New Setting                  SSL Enabled               Port
    POP3 Server       incoming.verizon.net           pop.verizon.net                       YES                   995
    SMTP Server        outgoing.verizon.net         smtp.verizon.net                      YES                   465
TIPS: Depending on your email application, you may need to turn off Secure Password Authentication and, if applicable, make sure your Authentication method is set to “Password” or “Normal password.” In addition, you may need to restart your device for these new settings to take effect and for your email to continue working properly.

On 10.7 (most any other versions should be similar) Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select account > Account Information, and confirm that the Account Type at the top is POP.
If it's currently working and is shown as an IMAP account, then please stop now, and reply back here with that detail.
If the account is shown as a POP account, then update the incoming (receive-path) mail server to match Verizon's message if your current settings show a different mail server, then select the Advanced tab to set the port and to enable SSL, and also ensure that the Authentication setting has "Password" selected...
Now for the outbound (SMTP) path...  Back over to the Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select account > Account Information tab, and switch the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) selector to "Edit SMTP Server List" item to get to the "outbound" mail settings and select the Verizon SMTP server account from the list shown at the top and select the Account Information tab and ensure that the server name matches what Verizon has now specified, and then select the Advanced tab, select Use Default Ports and check the Use Secure Sockets Layer box.

  • "Cannot Send Message" from Verizon to Hotmail

I see by reading this board that many others have problems with Verizon e-mail accounts.
When I try to send e-mails from my Verizon account into my Hotmail mailbox using an iMac, I get this message every time: "Cannot send message using the server e-mail."  The only thing it is letting me do is send an e-mail from one Verizon folder into another. It won't let me go from Verizon into Hotmail.
I  checked with Apple tech support, and their claim is that Verizon is for some reason blocking the outgoing e-mail into MSN/Hotmail.
I checked out the options under 'Advanced Account Info' but am not tech-savvy enough to understand what I am looking at, and the bottom section tells me to get advice from a systems administrator. Could anyone tell me the best way to go about getting this advice?
    Thanks.

We would want to make sure the mail settings are correct. I have sent you a private message to get more information.

  • Delete mail from server when removed from inbox

I have a POP e-mail account set up. Under the mail account advanced settings there is an option to delete mail from the server when I delete it from the iPad inbox. I assume this is a valid option for the account since it is shown, and it is what I would like to do. However it doesn't appear to be working. Is this truly an available option?

I also have a POO account wit ph Verizon and experienced the same thing. Apple tech said that is a property of POP accounts and I would have to change the account to Imap for the iPad to be able to delete from the server.

  • I deleted 2 toolbars for a coupon application I recently signed up for. I can no longer view my email, I can a message from Verizon (FIOS) that says the application is blocked. How do I ublock and allow email?

I got a message from Verizon saying that my email application has been blocked and I can't figure out how to unblock this so I can see email. I will not be able to see any response you send, so can you send it to my husband's email: [email protected] Thanks.

Open iPhoto, then under iPhoto on the menu bar, choose Preferences, then Accounts.
Make sure the email account is setup just like in Mail...just checked mine and it had dropped the password (added that back in) and it had changed the port to a default 25 (changed that back to match Mail).  Now it works correctly.
