Re-edit a mail

A mail could not be send properly due to any kind of mistake in the mail address, but I have not found any way to get back into the headers or into the body of the mail to see the mistakes and correct them. Who knows the way to get around that problem? Have found nothing in the Users Manual.

Questi,
Has the message been placed in the "outbox"? I've found that unsent messages sometimes end up in an outbox (which is not normally there unless a message couldn't be sent), but sometimes end up lost forever.
If it's in the outbox, I believe you can open it and edit.
Hope this helps!

Can't delete or edit a Mail account that is unable to connect and it keeps notifying me and asking for password. Macbook Pro with Yosemite. If I highlight the account and go to Mailboxes, "Edit smart mailbox" is greyed out. Delete the mailbox is an option, but the mailbox just doesn't go away and no error message displayed. Tried Mail/Preferences/Accounts, highlighting account and using minus sign, it tells me the account is shared by other applications and gives me an option to go to Internet Accounts. At Internet Accounts, the only mail account showing is iCloud. Meanwhile, the pesky Mail icon is jumping around the bottom of my screen.
    Can anyone help?

Did you ever find a fix for this? Mine is doing exactly the same thing, even with 2.01 - I hoped that might fix it. I'd rather not have to reset and erase the whole phone.

  • Unable to create or edit AD (mail) contacts in address book

    Hi!
I recently imported quite a list of contacts from an old CRM application into Exchange. All entries are nicely created in domain.local\company\location\Contacts. All fields are visible in Outlook under All Address Lists\All Contacts.
As we have a small company, just a few users, I want to give most of them the rights to create and update entries in the All Contacts folder, just as they were used to in the old app.
I started by creating role groups following this article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2013/08/07/creating-rbac-role-to-delegate-contact-management.aspx
I created an Admin Role group named Contact Administration, which contains the required Members, and I assigned two role groups to this group: Contact_Management, which is based on the Mail Recipient Creation parent group, and Contact_Management_2,
which is based on the Mail Recipient parent group. The Write Scope is: domain.local\company\location\Contacts.
Because this didn't result in anyone being able to update the contacts, I also created a group in Active Directory and delegated control on the contacts OU to this group, even though I think this doesn't add to the desired result (as it indeed didn't).
What am I missing here? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to create or edit a mail contact in address book, please follow these steps: -
Use the Shell to create a contact
This example creates mail contact for Debra Garcia in Exchange Server 2013
New-MailContact -Name "Debra Garcia" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected] -OrganizationalUnit Users
This example creates a mail contact for Alan Shen in Exchange online.
New-MailContact -Name "Alan Shen" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected]
    3.     This example mail-enables an existing contact named Karen Toh in Exchange Server 2013.
Enable-MailContact -Identity "Karen Toh" -ExternalEmailAddress [email protected]
    To add a contact: -
You can use the EAC to change selected properties for multiple mail contacts. When you select two or more mail contacts from the contacts lit in the EAC, the properties that can be bulk edited are displayed in the Details pane. When you change one of these properties, the change applies to all selected recipients.
When you bulk edit mail contacts, you can change the following properties areas: -
    ·        Contact Information: - Change shared properties such as street, postal code, and city name.
    ·        Organization: - Change shared properties such as department name, company name, and the manager that the selected mail contact or mail users report to.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Offline editing in mail (IMAP)

Not sure if I have something wrong in one of the mail settings but I cannot edit my mail (file/delete read mail) if I don't have a net connection, say for instance on a plane. I'm using a third party IMAP mail service, not an exchange server but that shouldn't matter. Anyone out there having the same issue? If this is normal it's really going to make it tough to leave my MacBook pro home in my next trip. Airplane time is perfect for inbox cleaning....

    Shaun,
I realize that this will probably not help you doing HD editing, but I've been using a couple of 1.5TB IEEE1394b (800) externals, and editing SD. I had planned on just using these for more storage, but when I put PP on the laptop I was limited to 3x 200GB for the internal HDD space. I began doing a few projects using these and found, to my surprise, that they did extremely well.
Along those lines, if you have a PCI slot in your machine, an eSATA card can hook into a SATA array, that can be configured in all sorts of ways, depending on the array's controller card.
Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to do true off-line editing in PP.

  • Oracle 10g Express Edition E-Mail Capability?

    Hello all,
We plan to deploy Express Edition for a project. I wonder is there any limitation on Express Edition to send e-mail with PL/SQL? Would it be a problem?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hello,
Application Express (which is pre-installed in XE) include the APEX_MAIL package which can easily be used to send emails (note that it's for sending only...not for receiving).
The only 'big' limitatation at the moment with APEX_MAIL is that it doesn't currently support attachments, however APEX 3.1 which is just around the corner changes that (i.e. you will be able to send attachments).
For any more complex things, you can always drop down to UTL_MAIL, however APEX_MAIL should suit 99% of your requirements.
    Hope this helps,
    John.

  • Documents Edit and mailing???

Perhaps I was hasty in purchasing the iPhone without making sure it had all the functionality I require but the fact is I did get it and am now struggling to understand how I can do the things I need (would like) to do.
When I was out of the office I used to use my old nokia as a modem, so I downloaded mails and replied and even browsed from my laptop.
Now with the iPhone I can receive my mail on the phone, but cannot transfer attachments (to modify) to and from my phone and laptop for mailing when out the office.
I have tried Readdle but it you must upload documents to readdle site therefore requiring an internet connection on the laptop. I have also tried the files app, but it is similar in that it requires a wi-fi network connection. Something I dont have when out of the office.
Is doing what I need to do possible, without jailbreaking the phone, or should I just accept its limitations and wait for updates?

Well, for example, if I am out of the office and receive a mail from a client urgently requesting I send them a file or document. And this document is on my laptop, how do I mail it to them?
Or, if I receive a document via mail (on my phone), and need to edit it and reply, how do I do that?

  • Edit Workflow Mailer - Purchase Order Email Subject

    Hi,
We have configured the workflow mailer to enable reminders to be sent out to approvers which relate to Purchase Order approvals that have not been responded to.
However, as well as a reminder email being sent, there is also an email telling the approver that the previous email has been canceled. This has a the email subject prefixed with "Canceled:"
Our problem is that users are seeing this and thinking that the Purchase Order has been cancelled. We therefore want to either edit the subject of this email, or stop it being sent.
    Any help/advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

    JOhn
I think this mail is sent by the workflow mailer using the item type System Mailer. This is auto generated notification when the notification itself is canceled or retired. You can customize the subject there based on the source.

  • Where do you edit the MAIL connection doctor in 10.10.1

    Current OS is 10.10.1
    Product is MacBookPro3,1
Not able to send from email account (Telus.net) but able to receive.
Account deleted and reinstated but no difference in sending success.
Connection doctor shows multiple Outgoing Server settings which I believe are causing the
failure to send but I cannot find any way to edit the file or remove the duplicate or just plain wrong servers.

Thanks for the help however all that window shows are the Outgoing mail servers being queried. There are two of these outgoing mail servers that are not needed at all. I believe that the two addresses w the red dot in front of them need to be removed from the list of available servers. How do you find the file where these addresses are coming from? When I look in the outgoing mail servers (when editing the servers), the ones with the red dot preceding them are not listed as even being available but when the Con Doc is run, they are obviously loading from somewhere.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Edit a mail message before sending

How do I edit an email in Mail while spell-checking? Sounds simple, but my stupidity means I can't find out how to do it.
Here's my scenario: I write a message, hit send and it brings up the spellchecker. Then while doing the spellcheck, I realise that I want to add or alter something in the email. So I come out of the spellchecker, either by closing it or just clicking on the body of the message, and try to edit the email. But when I then click in to the text I want to change and hit a key, any key it seems. the email just sends - doesn't give an opportunity to make those changes.
This has to be something so obvious that I will cringe with embarrassment when I read the answer, but I hope someone will take pity on me and give me the answer!
    Thanks to that person!
BTW, the thing is I only started using Mail a short while ago, having been a confirmed Thunderbird user...

    Hi Lavakumar,
Based on my knowledge, getting an alert before sending messages can't be achieved by Exchange Server.
I would like to know what your purpose is. If you want to avoid users from sending wrong messages, recall feature can help them when they send wrong messages.
For more information about recall, here is a helpful thread for your reference.
Recall or replace an email message that you sent

    Hope it helps.

  • Can't click to edit in Mail

I suddenly noticed a problem when writing a message in Mail.  After writing a sentence or two, if I want to edit I can't click on the word to bring my insertion point there to edit.  I have to go back to the Subject field, tab to get back to the body of the message and use my arrow keys to navigate to the word I want to change.  This is extremely frustrating.  Can anyone help?  I am on a 3.7 Quad Core Mac Pro, 32 GB of RAM running Mail in OS 10.9.5.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to delete list item, edit view and send email.
I recommend to log in the site again, and remember the password in the brower.
Please check whether you enable tracing. If so, please removed the system.web/tracing element from our application’s web.config - See more at:
    http://www.deviantpoint.com/post/2011/09/26/Cannot-modify-SharePoint-list-views-with-tracing-enabled.aspx
Please make sure you configure the outgoing email correctly. More information:

  • Editing incoming mail?

    Hi all,
I currently use Entourage but would prefer to use Mail but there is one tiny thing that Entourage offers which I can't seem to do in Mail, and that's edit a message after I have received it.
Basically I sell items on Amazon and once Amazon sends me an email to confirm my product has been sold, I edit it in Entourage and add the date that I dispatched the item so if there were any problems I can go back to that email and see when it was sent.
Does anyone know if you can edit your recieved email in Mail?
    Thanks for any help.

I have seen this thread floating around for years. Many would argue that making messages editable is a nightmare for litigation and such because email is increasingly used in court. I would argue that if this need exists, as it does in the Federal Government the solution does not belong on the desktop. Feds like us are moving to IMAP for this very reason and the archive is frozen when the message passes through the server. Apple really has no excuse for not providing this in Mail.app. Especially since I assume you can edit the individual message files in Tiger or the mbox in Panther by hand anyway. It's just one more case of wanting to appear secure without actually being secure. I hope Apple is listening, and yes I will submit a feature request both online and at WWDC this summer.
edit: It's worth mention that encrypted messages which the feds are also adopting (and Apple supports) can protect the integrity of selected messages without preventing editing of non-encrypted or signed ones.

  • Editing e-mail problem with Mail 5.1

    Hello,
Since i installed Lion (10.7.2) and i edit an e-mail message in Mail (5.1) something strange is going on. I can no more connect 'folowing' lines to 'previous' lines by using the backspace key.
Previously I was able to move the cursor from the first letter of a 'following' line with the backspace key move backwards move the line where I wanted to connect.
Mail 5.1 now puts the line I want to move with the backspace key, every time to the beginning of a new previous line instead of placing the cursor at the end of the previous line.
Even with the 'delete' key i'm not able to put the next line to a previous line. Does anyone know how i can bring back the 'delete/ backspace' key setting so it can work as before?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
    Simon

I suppose this is exactly what arrives to me, if I understand you correctly.

Just signed in and noticed I misspelled e-mail address." My Settings" says use the form to edit profile but I cannot get it to allow me to change my e-mail. Grrr, now I won't get any mail.

Hi greggums & Welcome to Apple Discussions --
You can't change e-mail in My Settings. The only way I know how to do so, presuming it's working correctly, is to go here: https://myinfo.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyInfo.woa
Log in and change the e-mail address associated with your account.
