RE: EE POWER BAR

Hello is it true that after an 18month period EE start charging you for hire of the power bar as I was under the impression it was free of use. Please can someone sled some slight on my question thank you in advance.

Hi,
I saw something about this on Facebook and have since investigated. The website I found tonight by googling "ee free power bar" does have an FAQ section detailing this.
I'm not a lawyer but am fairly aware of the legalities of a legally binding contract, the main points are that both parties must be fully aware of all relevant points and agree to the terms.
(I wasn't made aware of the charges, terms of rental or even that it was a loan based service).
Like PPI and GAP insurance along with Endowment Mortgages, contracts which are entered into without the customer being aware of all implications are classed as mis-selling.
Like many, I heard about the offer on Facebook or from a friend. The note on Facebook from an unknown person mentioned getting my FREE power bar.
I text "Power" to 365 and was toldby reply SMS to take the code in to store to claim my FREE power bar.
When I went into the store, the lady behind the counter did not mention anything to me about any contract or fees. I asked the lady for my FREE power bar and it was handed to me.
Unless the terms/fees were clear, the law is on the side of the consumer.
I don't like this untrustworthy behavior and will be taking mine back to store and getting a receipt, I bought my Xperia Z2 outright and joined as 30 day SIM only so have no ties and will be taking my £320 per year custom somewhere else due to this within the next week or two.
I can't stand dishonesty and not being clear on the truth is the same as lying.

  • Popup problems on IE and Safari-I want my Power Bars. ;)

    Hello All,
Trekbikes.com have an online scratch and win game and I have won power bars. I know, not much to brag about, but for some reason, the "winner's window" won't pop up automatically. Plus, when I click on the manual link, it leads me to their homepage. I think it's a popup blocker issue or so their link makes me think it is, but I can't figure out how to remove my popup blocker (I think I have one? I use Norton Anti-virus and can't seem to find anything to do with popup blockers).
    btw, their link says this:
click here if your popup blocker prevented the prize window from opening.
Any help would be appreciated. btw, I use 10.2.8

    Hi Lan!
I don't use IE, but, while in Safari, open the Preferences by depressing the Command and Comma keys.
    Click on Security.
    Uncheck: Block pop-up windows.
    Close Preferences.
Good Luck! And Enjoy Your Power Bars!

  • What can I do if I receive a broken EE Power Bar from the store?

I got an EE Power Bar yesterday (Sat 27) and it was only half full. I tried to charge it when I got home, but it won't light up the top two lights. Whats more, when I try and use the torch it takes more than two presses of the button to turn it on, and futher rapid pressing to turn it off again. What can I do?

Take it back to the store.
These can be swapped whenever you like

  • Power bar not working

    Hi,
I picked up a power bar in store today and after charging it for four hours as stated and the 4 led lights being lit I unplugged it. Now after trying to charge my iPhone the power bar won't turn on and is not charging my phone. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hi
Try leaving it on charge for another 4 hours.
If it's still not working If you pop in to an EE Store they will be able to have a look at it for you.
If it's faulty they can replace it.
    Thanks.

  • Power bar gone

Hi, There used to be a power bar (or battery bar) on the upper right corner of the screen of my Palm 800w. But now it is gone. How to make it appear again? Thanks.
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

Mine has done the same thing, but WKTask, WMMiniBattery, and so many other little battery status apps I don't remember half of them all have battery status indicators. WKTask also manages tasks and makes your taskbar look and act more like the taskbar in Vista (or XP), or you could install WM Mini Battery and it only displays a green bar on the top 4 pixels of the screen showing you the current battery status.
Search for 'battery' at http://www.freewareppc.com [WARNING: Site has lots of pop ups and annoying banner ads. Using something like Adblock in FF is recommended.].

  • Power Bars – taking a power pause

UPDATE 16/07/2015: Quick update everyone. The incredible thirst for Power Bars has continued and as a result our latest batch of has now run out. While we work on replenishing our stock levels, we’re pausing the issue of Power Bar codes from Friday 17th July. New ones are on their way and we’ll text you the moment they arrive. Don't worry, if you've already got a code you can still your text in-store.
ORIGINAL POST: We're delighted by the incredible response for Power Bars from our customers, with one million requests in just four days. We had five times more requests in the first 24 hours of the promotion than even the most popular smartphone launch in the UK and visits to store were up as much as 300% over the weekend.
While we fulfil the requests we’ve already taken, we're taking a short ‘power pause’ to replenish stock. More Power Bars are on their way for our second release at the end of June. If customers text in now, they will be advised to text back from 8am on June 24th – there will be no charge for these texts if no code is received.
For those that already have a code:
We are aware that some stores ran out of stock over the weekend due to the demand and are sorry for any inconvenience. In order to meet demand of the first million requests we’re moving around stock to our busiest stores, so your local store should have a Power Bar available this week. If you have a code, we have a Power Bar for you.
For those that have already received their Power Bar the in-store swap scheme is now up and running to ensure our customers stay powered up.

I got a code last Thursday at midday and I went first thing in the morning the next day.  My local store in Brentwood said it had ran out of stock and to come back Tuesday.  I have come back now and they say they have no stock and they don't know when they will have them,. Then, when challenged by other customers also wanting their power bars, they said "I can't magically produce one, so I'm sorry I can't help you".Very rude.  Someone suggested ordering them, and they said they cannot do that.  Great.  What are we supposed to do now?  I can't go  round EE shops looking for bars.  Any response from EE to this?

  • More about the Power Bars Batch E1-06 Recall

    Hello,
You may have received a text message in the last few hours, read our post here in the EE Community or read a story in the news or on our social media channels, asking for you to stop using and return your EE Power Bar. If so, it will have been explained that this is because a very small number of the charging devices may contain a fault that could cause them to overheat.
EE Power Bars have been hugely popular with customers. We all know how much we use mobile devices, and helping customers’ batteries stay charged without having to find a power socket put a smile on our customers’ faces and ours. It’s why we were happy to have given out over 1.5m Power Bars since April this year.
With all electronic devices, from mobile chargers to mobile phones, there can be faults, and these are occasionally reported to the manufacturer or the retailer. After four months of delivering EE Power Bars into the hands of our customers, we had received word of just a few that developed very minor faults. We investigated and these were very typical for rechargeable electrical items, and well below the usual level that would cause concern.
But a very small number of incidents in the last few weeks have been significant enough for us to want to investigate them further. So we’ve sent a number of Power Bars away for extra testing and uncovered that there is the small possibility that, while manufactured to a standard that meets EC safety standards, some could be faulty.
All of the incidents reported have been on a single batch of the Power Bars – ones marked Model: E1-06.
The detail here is that all lithium-ion charging devices have an in-built safety feature and we are investigating whether a failure in this feature could be at fault.
We have not been mandated to recall the EE Power Bars, but we value our customers’ safety above all else, and we felt the only way we could guarantee customer safety was to voluntarily instigate a recall of batch E1-06 so that we could complete a full and thorough investigation.
That’s why we have taken this action today. We will do everything we can to make returning EE Power Bars as simple as possible, and I will keep you informed of our findings and our progress. Once the investigation is complete, our intention is to replace all of the E1-06 chargers and deliver them back to you.
I’d like to say thank you very much in advance for your help in getting Power Bars back to us. Again, I’m very sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.
We are very fond of our Power Bars and we know you are too, so we are very sad to have to take this action.
Please share your thoughts, comments and concerns with us below!
    Thank you,
    Pippa Dunn

As an owner of a Power Bar from one of the batches that hasn't been recalled, I would like to know how you reached the decision to only recall E1-06. You have said that there are 1.5 million Power Bars in circulation, and according to this BBC news story,  one third (half a million) are from batch E1-06.  This story also states that five power bars have overheated. With such a huge number of power bars in use and such a tiny number of faults, how can you be certain that the fault correlates only to one batch?  As batch E1-06 is either the largest or second largest batch by a very large degree (facebook users report owning bars with batch numbers E1-01 to E1-05 as well, but no more), surely it is not  so very out of the ordinary for 5 randomly selected bars to all come from it? This, in addition to the numerous reports on your Facebook page of owners of overheating power bars from batches which are not being recalled, does not reassure me of the safety of my bar. Please be assured I am not questioning your intent or the integrity of your actions in this recall, I trust you are acting in the customers' best interests, however as someone with an interest in statistics and mathematics I am would like to know how you have come to be satisfied that the other batches are not at risk.  Please feel free to explain using as complex mathematics as you like!

  • O2 Portable Power Bars

We're all aware EE are giving out free portable chargers to their customers, I think we'd all like it if O2 did the same, no? Priority is all well and good but I'd much rather have a charger than 15% off some Hotel Chocolat.Anyone feel similar?

Spencer, Although you are correct with the fine print, it needs clarification. I found out through Money Saving Expert site the following:  The reason it's a hire agreement is so EE (including Orange and T-Mobile) customers can swap their power bar for a fully-charged replacement bar at any EE store nationwide as many times as they like. That's one of the core perks of this particular deal over just buying a charger – the ability to walk into a store and swap it. EE has stated this clause is in there because it legally needs to state an end date to the promotion. It says in reality it will review the scheme as a whole after 18 months and decide whether to continue it, end it or to change it. If the scheme continues in its current format, EE says it's unlikely it will force people to return the power bar after 18 months, or that it will charge them if they don't. So it would be good if O2 followed a similar promotion. The ability to recharge your phone and swapping for a fully charged bar when you're out and about is a great deal.

  • Why does iPad suddenly turn off at 40% power and the power bar is almost gone.  Then when I plug it in the power bar goes back up to 40%

My iPad has suddenly started turning itself off at 40% power as indicated at the top right corner..  The power bar is almost down to nothing (like 1%) when it shows up as it is turning off.  When I plug it in, the power in the top right corner shows 40%.

That happened to my sister get a new battery then wait until its full 100% then you can use it again

something like the APC Back-UPS ES 700 should suffice.

  • I have a arrow right next to my power bar it will not go away on my iPhone 4s

There is a arrow on the top of my phone and it will not go away what does it mean

    Hello,
This arrow next to your Battery symbol at the top of your phone means you are playing some sort of music or sound.
To make sure you are not do the following:
Press your Home button twice quicky
You should now have a list of open apps. Hold down the App and press the red button. This does not delete the app but it closes it.
Once these steps are complete if the arrow is gone, you are all set!

    Jake
