Re: Elements 9..........Web DVD.....Disc menu problem...

I'm trying to create a disc menu that includes a still image on the title screen . I browse and select the required jpg and it duly appears as expected on the selected menu. I preview the webDVD and all is as I wish it to be....However, when I finish/save the webDVD and then view the result the still image does not appear...just the original default look . What am I doing wrong ?..........

I've just tested it and, yes, it is one of the problem ones. If you especially wanted to use that template you would need to edit the templates in Photoshop Elements. http://muvipix.com has instructions on how to do this (in the subscribers area). • Picture Cube Disc Menu Problem

Using PE 10.  The Menu Marker Names do not appear on the Scene Selection menus with I use the 'Picture Cube' disc menu.  Works just fine using the 'Fun' disc menu.  I know, I know.... just use the one that works!  Is this only my problem or have others come up with the same troublesome behavior?

I do not frequent this forum as often as I would like, but I will watch my emails for additions to this thread. If Mapper53 needs any additional assists on this one, I will be glad to help.
    Based on my experience,
    a. You cannot use Photoshop Elements (not just version 10) in Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit to open the Premiere Elements DVD Menu .psd major Layer Sets. And, you do need to do that to get at the Picture Cube sub-layer sets apparently incorrectly named (^), instead of correctly named (^^). That (^^) to (^) automatic switch can typically be seen when the user is duplicating menu buttons in the menu .psd file. When this happens, the user has to be on alert for this and be ready to rename/correct the sublayer(s) from (^) to (^^). In my case, the Picture Cube menu came as a photoshop.com plus one, and I opted to stay with the free photoshop.com account. So, I cannot confirm first hand what you have observed. But, I do have another user at another site that I frequent who is experiencing the same symptoms with use of this Picture Cube menu.
    b. You can do this when Photoshop Elements is in Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit as we both have observed.
If the user has Premiere Elements 10 in Windows 7 64 bit, then the alternative become
    a. If available, do the menu corrections in Photoshop Elements in a Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit computer environment
    or
    b. If Photoshop CS or higher is available do the menu correction there. (Reason for the CS or higher, is related to the fact that Photoshop versions earlier than CS allowed for the major Layer Sets, but not the sublayers that are needed..)

  • Premiere elements crashing when adding disc menu on a mac

This has been happening for quite some time now.
I have tried saving as flv and mpg to avoid the problem but it still crashes.
Is there a solution.  I am running OSX 10.9.2
I have verified the disk and permissions to no avail.

    Thank you for your response
What exactly is happening and when?
When I have finished editing the movie and ready to add a disc menu so that it can be played on DVD.  Disc Menu is selected and when I try to drag it across the error occurs and it shuts down the program
Movie Menus only apply if you are creating a DVD, a BluRay or a WebDVD. Why are you outputting as an MPEG and FLV? I output as an MPEG and FLV to add to the internet and to keep as files for future use.
What model of camcorder is your original footage coming from and what format and resolution is it? I am importing an mov file which I have made a slideshow from in Slideshow Pro.  I have been using the same process for over a year and it has only started happening in about 4 months ago.
When you add your video to your timeline in Timeline mode, do you see a red line alone the top of the timeline, above the clips? This indicates that you did not properly set up your project to match your video.  No red line

  • Share Web DVD and Menu Templates

I wonder if I can save and share a Web DVD through my automatic download sales.  I am saving all media in Amazon S3 so I can put the folders up there.  If it's possible which file would be the one a client would download?
This then leads to a 2nd question and that is about the menu templates.  Is there a place or way for me to develop my own templates with solid backgrounds, tailored to my business with the number of scenes I want to open on the front page?
    THANKS again for your help!

If you have Photoshop, then you can do almost anything that you want.
The reason that I asked is that Photoshop can CREATE Layer Sets (basically the Buttons), where PS-Elements can ONLY edit those.

  • Elements 9 stuck on disc menu screen

Approx 4 min project with many hours invested in editing.  Now stuck with disc menu showing. Clicking organize/project leaves that window showing with no ability to edit project. Where am I going wrong?

The screen that you show, is how the GUI initially loads, and few ever see it, as it gets overwritten in a hurry. When loading a very large Project, I have seen that for a moment, and knowing what to look for, can usually see if flash (and I mean FLASH) by with New Project, or smaller Projects on load.
When one has a GUI display issue, the normal cause is the video driver. However, PrE can hang on a few other things, like the audio driver, the version of QT installed, or something else.
I may have missed it, but what video card/chip do you have?
What was the version/date of the video driver, that you installed?
Have you updated your audio driver too? If not, that would be my next step.
What version of QT Player do you have installed?
This ARTICLE has a checklist on getting PrE to work most effectively, then goes into tuning up one's system and OS, and follows with troubleshooting tips and links.

  • DVD Studio menu problem

    Hi Guys,
I have seen lots of questions all over the net about this issue with no definitive answer as yet. I have always accepted slightly soft or pixellated menu images and text when creating in DVD studio pro but I now have a client breathing down my neck demanding sharp text and overlay images. I have tried .psd files, creating text over tiff, jpeg and png bckgrounds at 300dpi and creating loopable video in FCP to import as a menu background. Nothing works. There is always some element of the menu, usually text added within DVD Studio, that looks bad in normal state and especially bad when in selected state.
Please help. I just want crisp menu pages!

I have found I have had similiar problems with DVD studio pro. Pixelatted text. As you have tried PSD's png, jpegs etc, to my knowledge you are running out of answers.
I have always successfully created sharp text DVD menus with After Effects.

  • Web Application Context Menu - Problem posting comments

    Hi all,
We are using SAP BW 7.0 (nw2004s) and the web interface to the reports (Web Applications). Some specific reports have to enable users to insert information about specific lines (comments about non-conformity issues). We were planning to insert documents (via context menu) integrated with portal KM.
Using the Analyzer, we had no problem at all. All the information posted was saved in KM and we could read it using "RSA1 - Documents" and using the Analyzer. The commented value shows a flag that indicates the comment (a small "paper" picture). But when we try to use the Web Application to post this information, it is saved ok but it can only be read using "RSA1 - Documents" and not by the Web Application (it always shows no new documents) and there's no indication in the commented value at all. Has anyone seen something like that? We need to use the web interface. Using the Analyzer is not an option.
    Thanks in advance

  • Dvd disc drive problem

My disk drive was smashed during my travels home for the holidays and has a hard time taking a disc. The opening is slightly pushed in and there is a slight dent (smooshed in area)on the bottom of the laptop about an inch to an inch and a half from the edge. The disc's sound terrible and I stopped it but had a hard time getting disc out. Is there anyway to fix this inexpensively (college kid)? Where would I find a screwdriver to try and get the casing off to take a look at it? Thanks

If you take it to a macstore or any other servicepoint where they know how to work a macbook pro you can ask if they want to try and bend it back into proper working order, this should be enough to fix your issue.

With versions earlier than 11, there is no more Sign In. If you get any message to that effect, ignore and cancel out of them. You should be able to move forward to your import, editing, and exports using the program nonetheless.
As for the disc menus, those marked photoshop.com plus members only are no longer available to you in versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 11. You may see the thumbnails for those members only items, but they are no longer available to you in Premiere Elements earlier than 10.
Interestingly, many of them are found in Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 as part of the program with no need to purchase them or have any special membership in anything. Adobe has promoted Adobe Revel as a replacement for photoshop.com, but that has no impact on this disc menus issue.
This all has to do with Adobe discontinuing photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus et al.
If you need to download regular disc menus for Premiere Elements 10, please review the following
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE 7, 8, 9,10: Content Download
    Bottom lines:
    1. No more Sign In for Premiere Elements 10
    2. No access to photoshop.com plus (members only) disc menus

  • Web DVD problem - no activeX menu

So i created my 1st web DVD from, and everything works fine.  The menu creation and file encoding all worked great.  I can click on the Play_webDVD.html on my local drive, and it works perfect.
I upload the files to my web site.  When I try to play, it loads  only the flash player bar at the bottom of the frame.  I can not get the video to play.  I've tried with I.E. 9, and Chrome .Below is what
    the screen looks like:
    Any ideas?

    Steve,
Thanks so much for your help.
To try to help things out - I've created a much smaller test web dvd:
    http://www.sonoranconsultants.com/Pirates/test/play_webdvd.html
Here is the directory listing of the files:
I don't think it has anything to do with my web.config file - as it does see the html file and "sort of" load it.  I went ahead and enabled directory browsing - so you can see what is in that directory
    if that is any help

  • Are Disc Menu Templates Restricted to Certain Versions of Premiere Elements

I ask this question after visiting the movipix site to look at what templates I might add to my PrE 9 program. This got me to wondering if templates are restricted to certain versions of PrE. After reading various posts in this forum I thought I was getting the message that any templates from Premiere Elements 4 to Premiere Elements 10 were interchangeable. It was a matter of inserting the subfolder from one program into the category folder of another program?
If I were to order a template from the movipix website would I have to check to make sure which versions it would work in? I read where version 9 had some problems with some templates that would not allow menu background video or pictures to show up on the burned dvd even though it was in preview before burning. AT Romano had played with some of the templates but I never could find out if the problem was resolved by Adobe.
    Thanks

    ATR,
Thank you for your response. A wealth of information. Quite a bit of it I had already read. You've gone to a lot of work. Of most interest to me were a couple of posts. One in this forum "Using Disc Menus from Premiere Elements 4 in Premiere Elements 12". (Sorry I didn't copy the message #). The other detailed post was in Elements Village Premiere Elements forum.  http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73006&highlight=templates+folder
These posts are explaining pretty much how to install additonal templates, either between versions, or downloaded templates? Very good. One question on the Elements Village post though. You mentioned deselecting "Read Only" in the properties dialog box of the folder to be transferred. Is this only necessary if transferring from one computer to another? or should this be done when transferring from one PrE version to another within the same computer?
I think you have answered my question on using menu templates across the board from PrE version 4 thru 12. Just a matter of getting them in the correct folders as you have pointed out in your various posts. And it appears that only PrE 9 had the issues that didn't get fixed by Adobe as far as menu background & audio not getting burned to disc?
To give more details on the Menu and Scene Selection buttons. I should have said PLAY ALL instead of Menu. I did not modify them. I merely dragged the Play All button to the bottom left and the Scene button to the bottom right of the Main Menu page. The arrows pointing to them went along with the text. But on the burned DVD they seem to be reversed when the arrow is highlighting the choice to be made. Play All selects Scenes and vice versa. I probably won't be using this template again anyway but was interesting.
Not sure where to post this next question. Is there a way to start a post? where members can list a few of their favorite Disc Menu Templates that they use all the time? Kind of a vague question but I'm guessing out of all of the available templates in each of the versions of PrE only a few get used over and over. As the list would grow people could vote (?) on various ones and some kind of master list might be produced for future use or download. For example: PrE version (or a downloaded version like from Movipix ) used, templates used, categories (ie:general, entertainment, etc.) It seems as though a new version introduced adds some templates and takes some away. Then people are left looking or trying to figure out how to replace them (such as transferring them as we have been discussing)
    Thank you for your time

  • Disc menu not showing up on DVD

Hi,  I selected (and changed to suit my needs) a template for the opening screen disc menu set.  When I burned to DVD, it did not show up though it played during the preview.  Also the overal movie had some studders to it that are not in the original vob clips.  What to do?  I'm using PE 10 with a windows 7 system.

One can alter the PrE Menu Sets, but with DVD Menus, there are several considerations, that must be adhered to.
I use Photoshop to customize my PrE Menu Sets, and it works fine.
Within the constraints of DVD Menus, one can do some things in PrE, PS or PSElements.
When it comes to Sub-picture Highlights, there are many, many more constraints, and limitations, but one can do quite a bit of customization.
Steve Grisetti covers the in's and out's of PrE Menu Set customization, in his PrE books, and especially the Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements book.
If you need more details, let us know, as Ihave a few discussions, that I can share, should you wish to do customization, beyond just adding an appropriately Scaled Stil Image, or Video, as a background.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I have a Power Mac G4. I have previously burned DVDs with no problem.  Now I get an error message stating it doesn't recognize the disc and an error

I have a Power Mac G4 with OX 10.4.11.  I have previously burned DVDs with no problem.  Now I've gotten two different sets of messages.  One states that
the disc is not readable and an error code: 0x8002006D.  The more recent message states the disc is incompatible and an error code: 0x80020025.
What is going on?  I need to burn discs immediately for a conference next week.

"The more recent message states the disc is incompatible and an error code: 0x80020025."
The error (0x80020025) refers to an unsupported drive (not disk).  I've read about relaunching the Finder to correct the problem.  Choose "Force Quit" from the Apple Menu and then choose "Finder." Click "Relaunch" and see if the drive still produces the error.  If there's no change, I'd be tempted to replace the drive.

  • Premiere Elements 9 Disc Menu (main/scene)

I customize an existing template Disc menu (Pan and Zoom) by bringing in my own photo for both main and scene menu.  On the preview I can see the images and they are correct for both main and scene.  However after I burn a DVD, what appears on the DVD disc is the template not the customized graphic that I imported.  Why is Premiere not keeping the changes, although in "preview" mode it shows me the photos that I uploaded not the templated graphics?

I just did an 18 minute project using  NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 as a
preset.  Although in past I have used Kids/Nightime Story without realizing
that it is not HD, this time I selected Entertainment/Broadway which is.  At
first I tried using a video clip for a background but changed to a frame
capture.  In either case the results were the same as you can see in the
att.  I then burned AVCHD using 1920x1080i NTSC and when played on my
standalone equipment the results were the same as in the att. with poor
resolution in the menu.  I did no more editing in the menu that change
button colour as I was only out to address the resolution issue.  In fact I
got sound in the menu which obviously came from the video clip I tried and
could have been edited out.  I've not gone through all the templates but few
offer any customization and even the one I used had curtains in the scene
menu.  In fact I just tried Kids/Nightime Story again and as you can see the
resolution is as good as the HD one and in this case the scene menu allows
    complete background change.
As you suggest (b) my problems stem from customization which I always did in
Pin. Studio and my answer to b. would be yes subject to HD resolution in
    menus.

    To Bob:
The videos you are using are definitely 1440x1080. I say this because the
menu are designed for videos of that resolution. For all other resolutions
there is a resize that needs to be done and that is the reason the quality
reduces (drastically). This is an issue we are aware of and will look into
    for the future versions.
    Hi Bob
As I told you earlier , there are three resolutions available for each menu.
Two for Standard definition, and one for HD .
HD menus are designed for 1440x1080 . and SD menus are designed for 720X480
    4:3 and 16:9 .
When you used 720p clips, loss of quality was evident because resizing was
    taking place.
But with 1080i, the loss wasn't there as told by you.
Because images or videos can be resized from large resolution to smaller
    resolution without loss in quality.
Resizing from small resolution to large resolution will result in loss of
    quality.
The engineering team are aware of the limitation with menu and are working
    on it Bob.
