Re-Enable Default Intel Graphic
Need some help here.
Previously, my laptop will only use nvidia graphic during gaming session.However,since i updated my intel graphic..out of sudden the nvidia has became the default graphic card..
Anyone has any ideas to get my laptop to use intel graphic by default?
I have tried following method yet useless.
1)Changed from "Auto-Select" to "Integrated Graphic" from the NVIDIA control panel.
2)Disabled "Nvidia graphic card" in device manager.
3)System restore.
My led is in orange color which is indicating I'm using the nvidia graphic card...

Anyway,i have solved my issue.
What i did was completely reinstall my nvidia graphic driver and VOLLA!
Glad that you solved it i will be getting my first MSI as well an GS70 2PE which i hope it does not have problems

My blackbox (a bit heavy for me for carrying ) is a t400 with 9 cells and a wxga+, 2gb,120GB.Edited: Sorry, missed the first time that you were on XP. The answer below is for Vista only. For XP because of op sys limitations you don't have true switchable graphics capability. You can switch between the two graphics cards during BIOS setup only. To switch, reboot turning power off, then power on and on initial screen hold F1 to enter BIOS setup. Choose config and then display, and toggle graphics between integer (energy saving) and discrete (high performance). First time you switch you may have to reboot an extra time to allow the drivers to install.
If you have the latest release of the power manager (2.42) right click on it (the battery icon) and choose switchable graphics. If you are still on 2.37 or earlier release of the power manager left click instead. Once you have found the switchable graphics option switch between the two graphics cards by choosing energy saving and high performance GRAPHICS. (NOT similar options in the normal part of the power manager.)

KDE4 compositing no longer works with Intel graphics card
I recently upgraded to the new intel graphics card drivers and when I started KDE4, I got a black screen. I disabled compositing through the kwinrc file, but I want it back! Here's my xorg.conf

i'm experiencing a stuttering flash video playback performance on my netbook and i remember that it used to be better. my specs:

Linux 3.11 breaks triple monitor support on intel graphics
I just ran pacman -Syu, observed linux (3.10.10-1 -> 3.11.1-1), and found that I can no longer use more than 2 monitors simultaneously. When I try to configure 3 or 4 monitors with xrandr or arandr, I get an error message like "xrandr: configure crtc 2 failed".
When I boot with linux-lts 3.10.12, it works reliably again.
I have Intel HD Graphics 4000 on a i5-3320M CPU for a Thinkpad T530 with a ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3.
I have 4 monitors: internal laptop screen, DVI, DisplayPort, and a USB DisplayLink. With linux 3.10, all 4 can work simultaneously. With linux 3.11, any 2 of them can work simultaneously.

My symptoms seem similar to Unable to configure 3 display multihead / X fails to start with 3 displays connected, although that was reported on linux 3.4.Googling around, I found a few more people with what looks like the same problem commenting at the bottom of wrpll sharing not implemented (3x HDMI/DVI screens).
I have Intel graphics card and it supports triple head setup very well. ... I updated kernel to 3.11.1 after it appeared in Archlinux's repo and one of screens stopped working. I tried to fix it with xrandr but I got only "xrandr: Configure crtc failed" errors and these in Xorg.0.log:
I have a similar setup and am experiencing the same thing. Downgrading to 3.10 fixed the issue. I'm also happy to help fix this.
But apparently it's not the correct bug since someone said "if triple display worked and regressed in recent kernels then you have a different bug."
I think I should report this somewhere, but I'm not sure I understand exactly where (linux or xorg or arch?) -
T520 with Optimus - Can't install Intel Graphics Driver in XP
Hello,
I have T520 with Optimus FHD screen.
I have XP installed in my Ultrabay HDD.
I understand that XP doesn't support Optimus and that I must go to BIOS and choose either Discrete or Integrated.
OPTION 1 (Discrete Only) Which someone what works:
- So, when I have Discrete enabled in BIOS - and installed Nvidia Drivers in XP - everything works fine, expcept on 90% initial boot ups after going from Win 7 to XP (F12 Options) - I assume the NVIDIA driver doesn't get initially recognised and the XP boots up in non native resolution.
- It's only after I restart again and use (F12 again) to pick Ultrabay with XP, the Nvidia gets properly loaded. But this time, there is a prolong delay (60 to 90 seconds) of black screen after the WIndows XP Welcome screen before the desktop appears.
OPTION 2 (Intgrated Display Only) - Of couse, this after uninstalling NVIDIA Graphic Driver in XP
- In BIOS, Integrated Graphic in choosen.
- XP boots up in basic resolution.
- I download (From Lenovo T520 Driver Page) - Intel Integrated Driver for Win XP 32.
- When I try to install it, it says "The computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"
- BTW, I do have all the WIndows Updates including NET 3.0 and higher
- So then, I try to forcibly installed through Device Manager and Having DISK - but I get Error message.
- But somehow, it works after.
One guess I have and that confuses me is the Otimus Graphic Card - where maybe it can only work with either Optimus Drivers in Windows 7 or Nvidia Drivers in Windows XP. And that the Integrated Intel HD Graphic Drivers in for XP on Lenovo website are only meant for T520 with Intel Graphics ??!!
Or can optimus be used with intergrated intel drivers only in the XP?
If anyone can shed a small light, I would be grateful.

You shouldn't need the discrete to watch flash videos, the Intel integrated should be able to handle that on its own.
The nVidia card shouldn't be running at all when the machine is in integrated . In fact it doesn't even run in Optimus except when it is actively being used. nVidia proved this when it was first demoing the technology. nVidia removed the nVidia chip from the motherboard of an active system that was running in Optimus using only the integrated graphics, and the computer kept running without issue and the power consumption was the same with and without the chip on the board.
If you really wanted FireFox to always run with the nVidia card (again, I don't know why you would want this) you can change the settings in the nVidia control panel to force FireFox to run with discrete.
When asking for help, post your question in the forum. Remember to include your system type, model number and OS. Do not post your serial number.

X200 Intel graphics update today hosed external display
I'm running Windows 7 on my X200. So far its worked well. Today, however, TVSU (v4.0) installed an update to the Intel graphics driver (GM45 display driver, 32 bit, v8.15.10.1968) and now my external monitor is virtually useless. It's a Samsung 181T (1280x1024) and it was connected and in use at the time of the installation. After rebooting the monitor is so dark it's unreadable.
This is disappointing. I use my unit docked in an Ultrabase connected to a monitor and I need this to work properly.
It looks as if the system now detects the external monitor as having a resolution of 1280x800, instead of 1280x1024.As an update to the previous message: the monitor was previously detected and workd as a Generic PnP monitor. I've now dug out an old CD and installed the driver for it. The monitor is now correctly listed by make and model and the screen resolution defaults correctly, but at no resolution is the problem of the horrible display any better, neither using the Ultrabase nor the VGA output on the side.
My external display is unusable.
I would like to roll back this update but the option to do so isn't offered.
So far all of my TVSU updates have been flawless. This is really no fun at all.

go into BIOS and disable the Intel VT-d
I do not see an option to disable anything in the BIOS relevant to the display.

So I've been hearing that the intel graphics are working really well under linux. I've had experience with intel integrated graphics in a vaio in the past. It was a horrible card, even within windows. I'f I were to get a notebook with recent intel gfx card, would it be able to handle some lighter games (like tremulous, openarena, etc)
Or would I be better off going with one of the RadeonHD cards?current intel is going through a transition phase as we're transitioning to the GEM structure but support is not yet properly enabled in xorg. using an older version or development packages will give you good performance though. A few months from now you can expect very good performance on intel cards when xorg server 1.6, kernel 2.6.29 and Intel 2.6.x drivers are all out.

Photoshop CS6 only utilize Intel Graphics after NVIDIA upgrade

After I upgraded the NVIDIA drivers (320.49) on a laptop with a geforce GT540M card,
photoshop now only displays the graphic device built in on the mainboard, the default
intel 3000. (im in preferences>performance>graphics processor settings)
How to get this to work and have PS utilize the proper graphics card?
Please don't reply "contact nvidia" because they say contact adobe. And
PS is the only software having problems after the upgrade, so I consider
this a PS problem.

I finally figured this out, I had to right click on the PS icon and select
Run with graphics processor>High Performance NVIDIA

I need to 'enable download pictures/graphics' in my Comcast email.
I get no images or graphics in my Comcast email. I need to 'enable download pictures/graphics' I believe to fix this. Text within a blank graphics box stated this. I'm using Firefox version 27. Windows XP. Comcast email server. Graphics quite showing in my email several months back all of a sudden. I've cleared the cache and cookies. I believe I tried resetting Firefox to default settings. I could try this again. Don't remember if I did this before or after email graphic problems. Comcast tech support could not help me. Thank you.
Cor-el, there are no links to the email images in Tools>Page Info>Media that I can see. When I right click the image placeholder and click Inspect Element, It shows line after line of what looks like code. No images loading are only a problem in my Comcast email. I've had three tech reps at Comcast try to solve it. None could. Websites load fine. Could the problem have something to do with my graphics card and driver? Thanks.

Intel Graphics no longer works after upgrade to Windows 8.1
Upgraded to Windows 8.1. The Intel HD 4000 Graphics Driver no longer loads. Device manager reports an error (43). Can only use Generic Non PnP Monitor. Any word on when this will be fixed?

I’m sorry to hear that Intel graphics driver is not working in your Lenovo ThinkPad W530 after updating to Windows 8.1.
Try updating your chipset drivers and ensure that you have enabled onboard graphics in BIOS. Try to install Windows 8 driver and check if it helps.
This issue has been discussed at Intel community forums and they are working with Microsoft to get this issue fixed. Hope they will resolve the issue on priority and come up with an update. As of now, the only work around is to roll back the system to Windows 8 and wait for an update or patch.

Can't Enable On Board Graphics
HP Pro 3500, Windows 7 Proffesional
I bought an EVGA 8800 GTX Video Card on E-Bay (due to low budget) for $55, the seller said that it was used yet in perfect working order. I installed it, and when I attempted to boot up the system, a long whine was emitted, and nothing abnormal happens. I disabled the onboard graphics card, yet it still whined and there was nothing coming up on the monitor (it was plugged into the graphics card) I removed the card, and I cannot figure out how to re enable the onboard graphics card. BIOS doesn't have any options for video adapters or anything. (This computer is stock, bought from Provantage on March 10th). I also can't figure out where to plug in the cords for the card. Please help me!You may have damaged your microtower PC by installing a gaming video card well beyond its capabilities.
An EVGA GTX 8800 GTX graphics requires a PSU of at least 450 Watts and two PCI Express power connectors. Your PC is not capable of supplying that in its OEM state. Upgrading the PSU of a microtower PSU can be a bit of tricky business.
I suggest that you try clearing the CMOS and setting defaults to try to get your PC to work again. The Maintenence and Service manual for your desktop PC has an explanation of how to reset the BIOS. It is a worthwhile read.

How to save customized skin (via Intel graphics) from session to session
Hi-I'm a novice so hopefully there's an easy resolution. I've customized the Firefox theme using Intel HD graphics "color enhancement." Even though the coloring setting are saved via the Intel card, when I start a new Firefox session the theme reverts to the original shadings. I can change back to my customized theme by opening the Intel Control Center but I'd like to avoid that step.
Is there a way to keep my settings as default without fiddling with css editing which I'm too stupid to do? Thanks for any thoughtsThanks for responding! It's a trivial issue but with OCD I can spend hour after hour trying to get things as I want them.
I found Flaminglow as a theme that was a bit unique. But I wanted the saturation, contrast, etc. altered, which I did with Intel graphics program that was pre-installed. I can save the color enhancement i.e. "a" scheme, "b", etc. with Intel. But when I restart the pc it reverts to the default colors of Flaminglow and I have to go to the Intel program and enter the saved scheme. I don't want to have to do that each time I turn the PC on. I've included a screenshot of the homepage and one of the Intel control center.
I thought that perhaps a session saving add on may work but just don't know. Make any sense, lol? Thanks -
Acer TimelineU, Intel Graphics annoying flickering/tearing

I've been using an Acer Aspire TimelineU M5-581T-6807 as my primary machine and about ten days or two weeks ago, the video started doing a very annoying and distracting...flicker? tear? when doing work. Does not matter if I am on the terminal, in awesome, running a browser, etc. I have checked my settings and everything appears to be fine, nothing showing in the journal. I was hoping that with the Intel driver update yesterday and the kernel update today that it would fix my problem, but it appears to not have fixed it. Is it an i915 problem, kernel not liking my video, or Arch not liking my laptop right now?
For what it's worth, I believe it coincided when I upgraded my kernel from 3.9.x to 3.10, but I also do not want to have to downgrade if there is something else I am missing or can do to remove this. I'm hoping I'm not the only one seeing this, too.

How can I disable intel graphics? G570

I have a question like in the topic. I have a Lenovo G570 laptop with Intel HD integrated Graphics and AMD HD 6300M dedicated Graphics. I'm running on Win7.
I know that a similar topic was before and that the Intel graphic should switch to amd when necessary but I think it's not working right. The problem is with Skyrim. When I run the game's setup it automatically detects the configuration I possess and chooses the graphic options in the game. As You can imagine they are the lowest possible as it ONLY detects my intel graphic. The AMD adapter is not there (the list which appears to choose from does contain the intel only).
So, is there ANY way to just turn off the intel adapter and work on amd all the time? It would help a lot. I tried that in device manager but when I disable the intel graphics the screen resolution drops rapidly and aero theme from windows is being disabled. It sucks. As if I was forced to use the intel.
Can anyone help? I would sure appreciate that a lot.
