RE Encoding using Files on my HDD

hi there
    I am trying to encode video/Audio ( Video files on my hard disk , HDD).I tried Manycam ( Application ) which is a amazing tool , but the problem is the BIG logo at the bottom which makes the output look ugly.Is there anyother way to go encode my HDD Video files using FMLR ?

You can crop the video to remove the lower part containing the logo. If your video has black stripes at top and bottom portion, you will not lose the video information on cropping.

  • Save the files of my HDD, please. (Extremely slow: 0,05 Mb/s and "file in use").

    Hi all,
    This is probably the first time ever that I have to ask a question myself. Usually when I have any problems I can find a solution in other people's solved threads. But not this time and I'm really frustrated. If any of you can help me with this I will be eternally grateful.
    I have a 1TB WD external hard drive with 500Gb of millions of files, really important data that is not copied anywhere else right now.
    Around the time I upgraded to Maverick's I think (not 100% sure) I started having problems when I wanted to copy files from the HDD. Some files would randomly give the error "The operation can’t be completed because the item X is in use". Some not, but since I have millions of files, I would try to copy folders, and whenever one of these files gave an error, the whole operation would be canceled and all the copied files deleted. Copying one by one is not an option, especially because there are some that don't even work individually, maybe 1/3 of them, I don't know.
    I started looking on the internet about the problem and I found many people having the same one. However, they circumstances were usually different, not wanting to copy from an external HDD, but maybe they just wanted to delete some file or talking about some network thing saying some terms that I don't understand like NAS, SMB shares, AFP, so I thought that that wasn't my case. For the ones whose circumstances were similar, I tried every single option that I found. Here is what I tried so far:
    -Copying not the files but the "mother/s folder/s (in many different ways and it definitely didn't solve anything).
    -Killing some process called "Unmount blabla" I don't remember.
    -Disabling the icon preview in finder. I thought it would solve it because everyone said it did, but not for me : (
    Note that so far, while I couldn't copy the files, the speed at which it tried or it copied some was a normal one.
    Then I went to disk utility and tried to repair the disk, thinking something was wrong with it. The first time I could verify, but not repair. It didn't solve anything obviously. The second time I couldn't even verify it.
    Then I decided to upgrade to Yosemite thinking this might solve a possible Maverick's problem.
    My God, it didn't. Now, not only it keeps saying that the files are in use. Now every time I plug the HDD, it takes around 15 minutes without recognising it, until finally a message pops up "This disk can't be repaired. You can still copy files from it, but backup as many as you can and then erase the volume". (It seems it automatically tries to repair it now?)
    As if that wasn't enough, once the device is recognised. It seems that the speed at which it reads the files inside has been dramatically decreased. If I try now to copy some files. Like an iPhoto Library of 4 Gb, it copies at approximately 0,05 Mb per second, with an estimated time of 24 hours for 4 mere Gb. It would take a whole year to transfer 500Gb. But of course, not even that since after waiting one hour, it gives the same problem "file in use".
    It seems to be more the reading than the writing since when I copy big files that are not in populated folders (and that are not the "evil / in use" files) it does it faster.
    Erasing is not an option, there are just too many important things. I know, I should have had 2 copies, but this is the situation now...
    I tried downloading a recovery software and I tried with some Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery or something like that. The first times I tried recovering files from it, it would do it at the same ultra slow speed. One of the times, randomly it copied all the files at a normal USB 3.0 speed (I had forgotten how fast that was), but all the files were completely unreadable. When I tried to open them it said they were damaged.
    However, it's not that the files are damaged because when I try to copy them manually they can be opened normally. But of course, at the slowest speed in the world and only a fraction of them.
    If you can help me solve this issue, I really would be in debt forever. I haven't end up in a dead end like now and I really need to recover the data.
    Thank you so much in advance.
    Jose

  • "encoding = UTF-8" missing while writing XML file using file Adapter

    Hi,
    We are facing an unique problem writing xml file using file adapter. The file is coming without the encoding part in the header of xml. An excerpt of the file that is getting generated:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <customerSet>
    <user>
    <externalID>51017</externalID>
    <userInfo>
    <employeeID>51017</employeeID>
    <employeeType>Contractor</employeeType>
    <userName/>
    <firstName>Gail</firstName>
    <lastName>Mikasa</lastName>
    <email>[email protected]</email>
    <costCenter>8506</costCenter>
    <departmentCode/>
    <departmentName>1200 Corp IT Exec 8506</departmentName>
    <businessUnit>1200</businessUnit>
    <jobTitle>HR Analyst 4</jobTitle>
    <managerID>49541</managerID>
    <division>290</division>
    <companyName>HQ-Milpitas, US</companyName>
    <workphone>
    <number/>
    </workphone>
    <mobilePhone>
    <number/>
    </customerSet>
    </user>
    So if you see the header the "encoding=UTF-8" is missing after "version-1.0".
    Do we need to configure any properties in File Adapter?? Or is it the standard way of rendering by the adapter.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance!!!

  • I cannot encode .flv files from CS4 using AME

    I’m having a problem encoding .flv files from Adobe Media Encoder CS4. All the jobs in the encoder encode for a period of time then stop about a ¼ of the way through the file.
    I am encoding from a Matrox preset project at 1280x720p 59.94fps. Some clips have a luma corrector effect on them. After rendering, some clips will come up completely black on the timeline so I have decided to leave them unrendered. I don’t know if that is related to why I cannot encode a .flv file or not.
    The settings I’m using for the .flv are:
    .flv file, 720p, CBR, 3000kbps.
    What’s strange is that I have encoded other .flv files from these same timelines but all have been smaller in screen resolution. That is the only difference. I can also encode .flv files from other projects without issue.
    I don’t know why this is not working?  Who can Help?!!!

    OK, so if you do a quick SAVE AS to a new project, and remove the luma corrector, can you encode all the way through?
    I have no experience with Matrox so I won't "go there".

  • Issues while opening a UTF16 encoded .csv file in excel using c#

    When I tried to open a UTF8 encoded
    .csv file in excel through my c# code, doing something like this:
    m_excel.Workbooks.OpenText(newPath, Comma: true);
    That works fine. Can anyone tell me what to do if I had to open a UTF16 encoded
    .CSV file similarly. All options i tried either fails or print incorrect Unicode characters.
    So somehow we have to specify the encoding format (of the file to be opened i.e .CSV)  while opening using excel functions, which i am unable to figure out.
    Please help me. I am badly stuck here.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jb9952,
    There is an Origin parameter in
    Workbooks.OpenText method, you need to specify this parameter. You could try to use xlWindows (Windows ANSI).
    To get the specify file origin value, you could get the detail code through Record Macro feature in excel.

  • InitializeQTML issue when used with ProRes encoded mov files

    Hi,
    I am using the QuickTime SDK to decode MOV files that are encoded using the ProRes codec.
    Basically this is what i do:
    - InitializeQTML
    - EnterMovies
    - Decode frames
    - ExitMovies
    - TerminateQTML
    The first file that i am loading always works fine.
    However, after i unload that first movie and repeat the same sequence with a second one, i am getting a memory exception in InitializeQTML.
    I am unable to playback 2 movies in a row. Only 1 at a time. I have to exit my application and re-run it.
    The QuickTime SDK and runtime have the latest version.
    Any ideas why?
    Message was edited by: msbox

    I have more details.
    If i comment only the MovieTask() function inside my routine, it stops crashing. But of course, i cannot have my frames rendered.
    By the way, all this sequence is called inside the same thread.
    Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

  • I am using Toast 11 to burn dvd's. With FCP10.1.3  I could go into the FCP shared folder grab the encoded .m2v file and drag it into Toast 11 and author dvd and burn.  How can you do this with FCP 10.1.4?

    I am using Toast 11 to burn dvd's. With FCP10.1.3  I used to go into the FCP shared folder grab the encoded .m2v file and drag it into Toast 11 and author dvd and burn.  How can you do this with FCP 10.1.4?

    BenB it creates a disc image only and it's not in .m2v. I think it saved it as an Apple Pro Res 422 format instead. The disc image file format will not allow
    Toast 11 to create menus etc.  Thanks for your help.

  • Can I change Encoding used in InputStreamReader

    Hi Java Gurus:
    Wanted to know if I can somehow change the encoding used by InputStreamReader, the value of which I get by InputStreamReader.getEncoding().
    I did change file.encoding to UTF8, but that does not change the encoding used by InputStreamReader.
    I am getting garbage data when reading a chinese character from a Swing GUI. If I convert the string into a byte array using utf8 encoding, the bytes look OK, but when I print the string, it is all garbage and gets stored in the database (thru JDBC) as garbage (?)
    Any pointer(s) would be a great help guys!
    Thanks,
    Micky G

    Hi Mickey,
    Wanted to know if I can somehow change the encoding used by InputStreamReader,
    the value of which I get by InputStreamReader.getEncoding().Easiest way is to specify the Charset or Charset name String in the constructor,e.g.:
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(iStream,  "UTF-16")
    I am getting garbage data....I don't quite follow what you're describing in this paragraph. Can you elaborate?

  • Problem using File upload in portlets

    hello there
    I'm trying to use file upload component in one of my portlets. I searched a lot about a working component to be used in portlets since the standard one that comes with JSC doesn't work in portlets. I managed to get commons file upload and tomahawk to run in my portlet, but when I choose a file and try to get selected file's details it throughs a NullPointerException reporting that the file object is null.
    so please can anyone guide me to a working portlet example, I tried to find one but I couldn't. if that's hard to find, what should I do ?
    thank you in advance

    I added file upload component in JSF from portlets in Sun Java Portal server.
    Take a look...

  • Problems with encoding and files

    Hi friends pls some help my problems is the following
    I have a ftp server running on linux and in my program I download files from the ftp server using class specified below.When I download the file content not all content is coming ok. For example I have a string with
    Ral1234%#=?[a_@ and when I read content using my methods this part is retirved ok Ra and this one is retrived wrong
    whith characteres very stranges.
    I suppose that the problem is with the encoding, then all day I tried some settings in the class new InputStreamReader.First the encoding UTF-8 because I have created the file using this encoding. Something like this:
    in = new InputStreamReader(new GZIPInputStream(localFtp.get(serverFile)),"UTF-8");
    but does not work
    After I realized that I use the statement localFtp.ascii();
    declaring that the content will be downloaded in ascii encoding so
    I made this change :
    in = new InputStreamReader(new GZIPInputStream(localFtp.get(serverFile)),"US-ASCII");
    but still does not work

  • "Adobe Adobe Media Encoder Preview Files" folder full ?

    Hello,
    I'm on latest version of both Premiere and Media Encoder, I'm working on PC/7 (64bits)/i7/Cuda,
    What is "Adobe Adobe Media Encoder Preview Files" folder ?
    C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\Adobe Adobe Media Encoder Preview Files\7.PRV
    How to purge it NOT manually ? Why is it created ? How to deplace it or remove it ?
    I've plenty of videos into my batch, and as soon as this folder is full, it's not exporting anymore. Even if all the old previewes are used and exported, they are not removed or automaticly deleted.
    I've tried to move this folder of my D: through adobe media encoder preferences... impossible to find its reference somewhere.
    If you have any idea, thanks a lot
    Donald
    Bonjour,
    je suis sous la dernière version de Media Encoder CC 7.2.2.29 (je suis abonné au Cloud) et j'exporte via file d'attente sous premiere CC.
    J'ai le dossier suivant :
    C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\Adobe Adobe Media Encoder Preview Files\7.PRV

  • DVD encoding using transcode results in out-of-sync audio

    I am trying to encode my DVDs for easy viewing on my computer. I am trying to do this with transcode, but I am having a few problems.
    Firstly, I use lsdvd and tccat to find and rip the desired content in raw form from the DVD to a VOB file. Once I have this raw data, I then encode the file to an AVI, using a command like:
    transcode -i <name>.vob -N 0x2000 -w 1000 --nice 10 -F mpeg4 -y ffmpeg,raw -o <name>.avi"
    Which compresses the video to mpeg4 with ffmpeg and copies the audio from the original as-is into the AVI file. However, when I watch the resulting movie, the audio runs slightly ahead of the video, so people's lips continue to move after they've finished speaking, just like in a badly-dubbed kung-fu flick!
    Another problem I've noticed (perhaps related?) is that despite the fact that the audio stream ought to be a bit-for-bit copy of the original, the bitrate is written as 128kb/s instead of 192kb/s like it should be. If the argument -b 192 is given then it fixes this problem, but the first problem is still present so it's not the cause of that.
    Encoding in mencoder using exactly the same technique works fine, but I hate mencoder and mplayer because they are both brain-dead and buggy. Mencoder won't detect half of the stuff it should, e.g. the aspect ratio, forcing me to look at every DVD I encode, read the aspect ratio and set it manually, which is just not on. I need to use transcode anyway to rip the DVD image, since mencoder claims that it can't acutally read the DVD half the time when everything else can, so if I can just get past this stupid problem then I will be happy.
    So, if anyone can help me figure out the problem here I'd be very grateful

    Argh! I never even noticed that option, despite having read the man page about 7 million times. Acidrip is not so great IMO, I think it uses MEncoder, so it suffers from the same problems I highlighted earlier, plus it is very crude and buggy. IIRC it also seems to be biased towards single-pass encoding, which is stupid because for a little more time you can get better quality with multi-pass as long as you're happy with running an encoding process in the background for a few hours (not such a big deal as long as you nice it down to a low priority)

  • XML file with an attached MIME encoded ZIP file

    Hi all,
    I'm new to SAP WAS and MIME encoding/decoding, and I'm trying to generate an XML file with an attachment which is also MIME encoded.
    1) I have dummy files (1.jpg, 2.jpg) and I'm trying to zip these files into one zip file (files.zip).
    2) I'm trying to MIME encode/decode this zip file.
    3) I'm trying to attach this MIME encoded zip file to existing XML file.
    Which FMs could I use to accomplish this?  Your help is very appreciated.
    Thank you.
    below is a file example that I'm trying to generate.
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
         boundary="--XXXXboundary text"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
    This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
    --XXXXboundary text
    Content-Type: text/xml;
         charset="utf-8"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <abc/>
    <def/>
    --XXXXboundary text
    Content-Type: application/octet-stream;       name="files.zip"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
    Content-Disposition: attachment
    UEsDBBQAAAAIAI9EejAs5k34H84DAAYgBAAMAAAAMDAyMjQ5MTEucGRmnLsJWBNJ2zb6jmJIIIFE
    BAMIJGEVBSKGRRAhEGQNoGwKYoiAEnYRUFGIkBAQFzYXRNHAAEGQZRy2ATFDUAHfGScSIUwQMMrM
    ECGADptA0n/jzLtc//dd51znVAKdru6uqn7q6fu5764qQz

    Just create an applet (extend JApplet)... add a JTextArea to it....fill the text area with the text from an XML doc.
    To get the text of the XML doc just do something like..
    File xmlFile = new File("<path to xml file>");
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(xmlFile);
    byte[] bytes = new byte[(int) xmlFile.length()];
    fis.read(bytes);
    fis.close();
    String xmlText = new String(xmlBytes);
    textArea.setText(xmlText);
    ...try something like that (assuming..i understand what it is u want)

  • Best way to encode Quicktime file for the web?

    Hello all and thanks in advance for your help with this problem.
    I need to know the best way to encode a quicktime clip for the web.
    This was my first try:
    http://www.denmothers.net/trailer-big.htm
    It works fine in safari, firefox, and ie for mac, provided they have quicktime 6 or later but it seems not to work on pc browsers. The file is encoded as an .mp4 using compressor and played with the browser's quicktime plugin. I've read that encoding files as a .mov provides greater compatibility but when i compress it as a .mov using the mpeg4 codec the file sizes are huge and when i use the photo-jpeg codec the quality is poor. h.264 looks great and has low file sizes but then my viewers have to have quicktime 7 which i think is too limiting because many will have older computers.
    How should I encode my file such that it works best across browsers and platforms and has the highest quality at the lowest size?
    Best,
    Keegan

    If you open an .mp4 file in quicktime pro you can then select File->Save-As and you are presented with two options:
    Save as self-contained: This will create a .mov that is the same size as your .mp4 but is playable on any system w/ QuickTime 6 and the Mpeg-4 codec. (PC's included).
    Save as reference: This will create a small (>500kb) file that will simply reference the .mp4. If they're in the same folder the .mov created will open the .mp4. Without the .mp4 the .mov in this case is useless.
    For what you're trying to do I suggest going with self-contained.
