Re: Equium A200: How do I make my keypad less sensitive

How do I make my keypad less sensitive?
It regularly changes font size, flies away pages that I'm working on and other irritating things without me actually touching it (although hands would be hovering above it)?

Hi
Touchpad settings can be changed in control panel -> mouse -> last tab (advanced)
Now click on the button (Advanced settings)
Here you will see all available options for touchpad.
The touchpad sensitivity could be changed there.

You didn't say which model of iPod Nano that you have, but generally there should be a lock setting, that can be turned on or off, to prevent accidental changes in settings. And, there is also a setting to turn on or off a feature called, "Shake to Shuffle." It allows you to change songs by just shaking the iPod.

  • Equium A200 - How to remove display?

    Hi.
I need to remove the screen on my Equium A200 but there doesn't appear to be any screws to get into it.
None of the guides I have found work for this model.
Does anyone know how to do it?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi
The notebook disassembly is not really easy its really tricky.
If you have no experience then you should not do this you could damage some other parts
But as far as I know you have to remove the keyboard and top cover assembly.
Then you could remove the four screws located under the rubber covers. This will allows you to remove the LCD screen bezel.
In further steps you will have to remove the screws securing display hinges.
As I mentioned above; its not so easy and be careful if you would disassemble anything

  • How can I make double clicking the space bar to make a period less sensitive

Hi! When I double click the space bar, it makes a period, which I love. What drives me crazy is that it thinks I'm double clicking the space bar quite frequently, so it'll insert a period in the middle of the sentence. How can I make my space bar less sensitive? I know that I can turn off the period shortcut, but I would prefer to leave it on, just with a less sensitive keyboard setting. Help!

It sounds like the space key is getting worn out. You may need to get the device exchanged under warranty if it's less than a year old.

  • How do I make video editing less laggy in PS cs6?

I'm using Photoshop CS6 to edit some video clips together, but it's super laggy. How do I make it so it's less laggy? Will putting my video files on an external harddrive work?
I'm using a MacBook Pro which is fast, but the video editor eats up my computer's speed like tiger.

    Welcome to the forum.
First, what are the full specs. of those Video files? On a Mac, you can use the utility, Media Inspector, to get the full details.
What are the specs. of your MBP, and especially the CPU speed, and number of cores? The reason for this info, is that if you have any form of the H.264 CODEC in those Video files, you will need a very fast CPU to smoothly handle them.
As for the external HDD, that will depend entirely on the connection type/speed, and then the speed of the HDD itself - you want at least 7200RPM. For connection type, you want an absolute minimum of FireWire 800 (IEEE-1394b), and USB 3.0 (not USB 2.0), or eSATA will be even better. If you do not have H.264 material, then the I/O (Input/Output) will be the biggest bottleneck - with H.264, then the CPU is the biggest bottleneck.
Let us know a bit more please, and good luck,

  • How do you make a truly pressure sensitive brush?

I have been using Sketchbook Pro to draw becuase the brushes seem to work so much better, but I feel that Photoshop must do the same thing, if I only knew how.  I want to draw with say, a charcoal style brush.  I want the pressure with my Cintiq to both vary the size and the opacity.  In Photoshop, I can only seem to make the size vary with pressure which results in a solid black line no matter what.  Here is the difference, in the attached picture.  Note how the Sketchbook line has variation in both size and density resulting in a much more natural look.
So what settings do I need to check to make the build up get darker the more I brush or the harder I press?

Wow, these are really helpful tips.  Thank you so much.  And I must get the Supergirl Brush!  So now I know, but I still have a few questions about how this works.  If I choose, say, Crayon and I make an adustment to it, like Shape Dynamics, I find that when I change brushes and go back to it, the adjustment has reset to how it was originally.  How do I keep it the way I set?
Save it as a new preset.

I have loaded a bunch of brushes, but many are useless to me.  I presume I can delete them so that I only have the brushes I want and then I can save that set with a name like, "My natural brushes".  When I delete them, I hope I am only deleting from the set and not completely deleting them.  That is, I could load them again.  Now with what looks like well over a hundred brushes loaded, it seems quite tedious to select them one at a time to deltete.  Is there a more user friendly brush management interface that allows me to see the brushes and just multi drag them out?
Do we know what operating system ypu are using?  If Windows 7 (and possible 8.1) go to
    C:\users\your user name\App Data\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (CC CS6 I don't know what you are using)\presets\brushes
What I do is have this folder open while going threough the brush sets in Photoshop, and rename them so they appear in sensible alphabetical order.  I also delete any dead wood.
The default set is called Standard, and IMO you should treat it with respect and not mess with it.  For instance I once went through the Standard set wondering why there were so many repeats, and deleted some of them.  I awarded myself **** of the Year for that act of stupidity as those apparent duplicates have different, and very useful, shape dynamics.

And one more question!  Some brushes have this odd animated brush on screen at the top left.  What's the point of that and why do some brushes have this and some do not?

  • How do you make the keypad hide when talking?

When I put the phone to my ear to talk, the keypad won't hide so I'm constantly accidentally muting myself. I've searched the settings and can't find how to fix this. Ideas?

There is a sensor that detects when your phone is held to your ear and it turns off the display. If it isn't working either it is defective or your case is covering it. So the first step is to remove your case and see if that fixes the problem.

  • Slow Equuim A200 - How to make it faster?

    Help!
My Equium A200 has gone really slow. Keep getting not responding messages on internet.
Even typing this is very slow. Im not very knowledgeable about computers but do keep security updated.
Please help me if there is anything I can do.

There are a lot options to make Windows faster.
I can give you some examples:
    1. Check the msconfig: start => run => msconfig.
At startup you can see all programs who started with the notebook. Remove the tick from the programs, they should not startup with Windows.
    2. Defragment your HDD: click on my computer => right click on the HDD => properties => tools => Defragment now.
Defragmentation is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems.
Which OS (operating system) do you use? If you use Windows Vista, install SP1. If you use Windows XP, install SP2 or SP3.
In my opinion Windows OneCare is not really good. Choose an other security suite. I use for a lot of years Kaspersky. I had never problems with it and the system runs fast.
To check how much RAM do you have, make a right click on my computer => properties and there you can see it.
If everything doesn’t help, you should reinstall Windows with the Recovery image from Toshiba. All drivers and tools are including.
But if you do this, backup your data first. The HDD will completely erased.

How do you connect to TV with Equium A200 series?

    Hi

Hmm then you need an adapter which would allow connecting both ports; RGB port and s-video port.
    Check this:

  • How long do batteries last after full charge on Equium A200?

    Hi
Just bought an Equium A200, and charged it for around eight hours, when I start up the battery life doesnt seem very long to me. Is says about 1hr 12 mins of life left. Doesnt seem like very long after an eight hour charge.
Is it normal to only get just over an hour of use time on laptop after fully charged? Never had one before. Appreciate any input.
    Thanks

    Hi guys
The battery life time depends on the notebook usage! So its not easy to say how long the notebook should run on battery power. But I think the 1hour 30min is a realistic period.
However, if you want to run the notebook for a longer period then you could buy a stronger battery which provides more power for a longer time
You should take a look at the mA value; the higher the better ;)
Furthermore please dont forget that the installed Vista OS needs more power as a early OS like XP.
The Vista needs more power because it wastes more computer resources.
I read that an same notebook would run 2 times longer on battery power with preinstalled W2K or XP.

  • How to disable TouchPad 'tap to click' on Equium A200-15L under Vista

Until mid-December I had the Synaptics Touchpad 'tap to click' disabled. Then it somehow became enabled , the right-click menu item to change it greyed out and the mouse properties, settings etc contain no reference to it. It has been suggested that Windows Updates somehow interfered. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling touchpad drivers both directly from Synaptics and from the Toshiba site, but it hasn't helped. Apart from using the recovery disk and reformatting what can I do?
Toshiba Equium A200 15L Laptop (PSAE2E). Windows Vista Home Premium.

    Hi Juliana
I have read also about the Vista updates which could affect the touchpad settings for me it sound very mysterious
I thought about the same touchpad driver reinstallation procedure.
But it looks like this doesnt help to get the click functions back.
I think the recovery CD would be the last resort.
    Good luck

  • Equium A200-1VO - Replacement DVD Drive

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me find a replacement CD/DVD Drive for a Toshiba Equium A200-1VO. Would i need to get the exact same model DVD Drive or is there another suitable drive available that will work?
I know how to fit the drive so installation isn't needed
    Many Thanks
    Nick

    Hi!
I have also replaced my DVD drive on an older Toshiba notebook and I can say you should only install a DVD drive that is listed in the user manual.
So you can make sure that the new drive will work because the drive has the same pin assignment.
If you dont have the user manual you can download it on the Toshiba website. ;)

  • Memory speed - Equium A200 PSAF5E

    Hi all,
    I own a Toshiba Equium A200 - 1V0
    Model no. PSAF5E - 001003sp
Bios version updated to v. 2.50
Everest Ultimate 4.5.1330 says that I have 2GB of RAM, in two sticks of Samsumg DDR2-667. Also it says too that my FSB is 133Mhz with correct CPU speed and multipier.
The problem comes with memory speed. It shows DDR2-667 capable sticks and chipset, but DRAM:FSB ratio is set to 8:4 resulting in DDR2-533, in any energy profile. The system operates in dual-channel 128bit configuration, so I'm losing 2144 MB/sec of transfer speed.
The chipset is identified as an Intel Crestline GML GL960, Everest and Toshiba website show it as DDR2-667 capable, Intel website claims about DDR2-533.

    Link:[http://www.intel.com/products/notebook/chipsets/gl960/gl960-overview.htm]
I haven't found any motherboard info or manual, so here are my questions:
    - Is this speed normal or may I expect the DDR2-667 mode with this system?
    - Is the dual-channel mode decreasing memory speed?
    - If I re-install memory modules one by one and changing the position, Could it reset the speed values of the system?
    - Can I access to any hidden BIOS settings to tweak the memory? (I have a Medion system that has a hidden and password protected BIOS mode accessible through F11 instead of F2 where I can find lots of options not shown in normal F2 BIOS)
    - Any more ideas?
Many thanks in advance. Any help would be much apreciated.

    Hi HiperGrover,
As PauPau wrote, the limited FSB is 533 MHz and that means the memory modules will run at this speed. Furthermore DDR2-667 modules can be used properly but they run only with lower speed.
So don be worry about this, everything is ok with your notebook.
Last but not least in BIOS there are no options about tweaking the modules and such options will not bring a strong performance boost but they could make your computer unstable.

  • Equium A200 Vista to Windows 7 upgrade

Trying to find out if it's OK to upgrade Equium A200 with Vista to Windows 7
I ran the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor". It lists several Toshiba Apps and/or drivers with the comment "we don't have any compatibility information about this version of the program". It helpfully links to Toshiba's Windows 7 ugrade site, and eventually to this link -
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/KBA9A02PX0000R01.htm
"For Toshiba PC models NOT listed below, Toshiba offers "Limited Driver" support on a clean installation of the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system."
    No Equium models are listed.
What on earth does "limited support" mean in relation to Equium A200 + Windows 7. IOW, is it OK to upgrade to Windows 7?
    TIA,
    Peter

OK, I understand not all or no Win7 drivers will be available for the 2yr old laptop. (I take it there is no way to determine which relevant drivers will not be available.)
If I make a Clean Install you say (and it makes sense) I will need to get install all drivers. However it that does not seem a sensible option as it's not clear which of the required drivers will be available. IOW could install then find I can't get some important drivers, unless I'm missing something.
If I upgrade from Vista to Win7 you say "many Vista drivers are compatible with Win7, actually I didn't know but it makes sense. Also the Win7 Upgrade advisor application didn't mention any problems with drivers on this laptop (it only flagged several unknown Toshiba applications).
Seems the best or rather only viable option is to Upgrade. FWIW I notice that Vista Home Basic & Premium can only be Upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. Other Win7 versions, in particular Win7 Professional, need to be Clean Installed. Shame as I wanted that for its additional networking capabilites.
Many thanks for your reply. If you think I've misunderstood something please comment again!
